141  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: BITMINE.CH List of Asked Refund for CoinCraft Desk/RIG on: April 28, 2014, 11:08:54 AM
I'm waiting since mid February when I filed my refund request.

They confirmed my request telling me it would take 3 to 5 days on average, we're over 40 days now and still no refund.

142  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Official Avalon mining rig clones thread from bitmine.ch (NOW SHIPPING) on: April 15, 2014, 06:46:01 AM
My refund request get me a PDF which includes the following : The additional 10% penalty that will be added to your refund is calculated based on the total purchase not including shipping fees, coupons, promotions, housing plans and discounts. This penalty is added to the above-mentioned amount.

Mind you that my order was due Feb second week and I just asked for a refund !!!!

The penalty gets added to your redund, I believe this is a 10% increase of your refund (penalty paid by BitMine) as per previous messages/TOS/whatever.

Thanks a bunch for the clarification . I thought it meant they will deduct it from the order .

The problem is, they're not refunding, either with a +10% or -10%, I've been waiting for a month now, no way... their "financial department" is so busy that it hasn't found the time refund my single rigle up to now Sad

We're working to secure more locations (e.g. Iceland)

If you don't know them yet, you can ask to advania.com, they have good prices, I had a rack reserved with them in case BitMine.ch delivered... Sad

Great pics indeed, and what about power consumption at the wall?

They offered two options, to keep your hardware order and be compensated for their lateness with cloud hashing "while you wait" so to speak.
Or swap your hardware order for a cloud hashing order completely.

Hi Biffa,

do you have a link for the offer?

Thanks

From the "Plan B" announcement: https://www.kncminer.com/news/news-75

Quote
Over the next few months we are bringing online enough hashing power to make sure that any delay in the Neptune timeline will be compensated with a completely free hosted hashing packages to all fully paid customers.

In the addition to this commitment, as part of Plan B, for all Neptune customers, we will be offering a free conversion to a hosted hashing package

Thanks,

I did miss it...

... My memory usage graph is blank for some reason.

Hi,

it is blank because it lacks code to track memory on freebsd.

Given that I can't live without ZFS and building on opensolaris was long and cumbersome (at least for me) I've got a freebsd box running and made a little hack to util/memory.py to track it on solaris/opensolaris and freebsd.

Here it is

Code:
import os
import platform
import resource

_scale = {'kB': 1024, 'mB': 1024*1024,
    'KB': 1024, 'MB': 1024*1024}

def resident():
    if platform.system() == 'Windows':
        from wmi import WMI
        w = WMI('.')
        result = w.query("SELECT WorkingSet FROM Win32_PerfRawData_PerfProc_Process WHERE IDProcess=%d" % os.getpid())
        return int(result[0].WorkingSet)
    elif platform.system() == 'SunOS':
        with open('/proc/%d/as' % os.getpid()) as f:
            f.seek( 0, 2 )
            v = f.tell()
        return float(v)
    elif platform.system() == 'FreeBSD':
        return resource.getrusage(resource.RUSAGE_SELF).ru_maxrss * 1024
    else:
        with open('/proc/%d/status' % os.getpid()) as f:
            v = f.read()
        i = v.index('VmRSS:')
        v = v[i:].split(None, 3)
        #assert len(v) == 3, v
        return float(v[1]) * _scale[v[2]]

I'm not a python coder, so bear with my poor code quality Smiley

Regarding hosting:
You'll be able to order now and add the hosting option later.
The shipment cost will be credited towards the hosting.
Hosting will allow full control of your machine.
At any point, you may decide to terminate hosting and to ship the machine or just disconnect it.
If you'll decide to host, the burn-in tests will be to your wallet.

Only 6 bundles left for April + July
Go http://buyminer.io

Do you have a ballpark quote for hosting per each kW used per month?

Thanks

spiccioli

ps. at listed price, May units will never break-even for sure, 4995 is good for a march unit, maybe an early april one, but not later than mid april.

I'm part of the Spondoolies team, and confirm that the miners are real (result of more than a year of a hard work) and ready for orders.

Hi SyRenity,

when you say that the SP10 ships in April, do you mean April 1st or April 30th?

Thanks

I've seen my name on a couple of screenshots and so I need to clarify that:

- I have three units hosted with user pcfli which I've paid in full on march 8th, so if he is a scammer I'm in a worse position than most here.
- Units started hashing March 10th around 10:00 AM GMT+1, so they have been working for a day and a half.

So far my experience with pcfli has been good, units are working and started working the day they had to.

I'd say scammers take a few orders and then disappear, here instead it seems that pcfli has already sent several units abroad and keeps sending them.

Something does not add up.

155  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Unofficial BITMINE CoinCraft series 28nm ASIC miners thread on: March 10, 2014, 12:51:30 PM
Rigs to Desks create another problem, at least for me, my Rigs should go to a colocation facilty which need a standard rack form factor, which Rigs have, but Desks don't.

So I cannot ask for Desks as replacement for Rigs unless you can put Desks inside a standard rack compatible case.

I don't really see that as a big problem, just like with the Avalons (last years, not the new 2U rackmount ones), we just put them on little shelves that we screw into the racks. 2 shelves that cost EU 15 each are not such a problem...

Of course if you can't lay them flat, then you have to stand them up and lose more space

I'm a little hesitant to ask for this change because we don't know whether BitMine is able to transform each Rig in Desk without further delays.

I have to ask colocation site to prepare for a different solution, which uses more space, and then, maybe, I end up waiting for much longer because BitMine is out of Desk cases.

Giorgio, you can add my name in the customer disappointed group.

Waiting for two rigs, with a colocation site waiting for them as well Sad

But most of all, the fact you were just reselling chips from Innosilicon is what, in the end, will destroy our possibility to break even.

This fact was never mentioned (or if it was it was in some fine print) so we could not anticipate that Innosilicon would flood the market with THEIR chips and that there were going to be petahashes upon petahashes of units coming online before/together with ours and so much cheaper!

158  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [185 TH] p2pool: Decentralized, DoS-resistant, Hop-Proof pool on: March 09, 2014, 09:52:09 AM
Looks like we lost multipool to eligius recently, which is a big chunk of TH (currently 12 TH, but I think sometimes 20 TH or more).

However, I'm not seeing a drop off in total hash rate, so I guess there is enough coming online to take its place. Nasty just added 1.6 TH and I added almost 1 TH.

I hope we can keep p2pool viable.

reported speed is 98 TH right now, speed on p2pool.info still shows 150 TH but is clearly wrong.

BTW, those 1TH units popping up like mushrooms after a rainfall seem to behave fairly well on p2pool, I'm testing one since yesterday.

What do people do with them? Are they genuinely obsolete? Or are there any other uses that people put them to? Where do they go?

In particular, I'm looking to buy one for a project from someone in the UK:

Any help or guidance is appreciated.

I have a few cairnsmore left, I'm in Italy.

or the price of a Desk or Rig in $ converted to B$ on daily exchange rate. You deside  Tongue

Yes but when do they pay out? It can take 30 days for them to get off their ass and pay you back, in the mean time
the USD to BTC price can vary so much it's difficult to even estimate how much refund you'll get

Units are priced in USD, you'll either get USD, EUR or an amount of BTC which, at the exchange value of the day they refund you, is equivalent to the unit's price in USD.
