Yeah, variance is killing me.  Looks like a lot of hash power has dropped off too.   Tongue

Fucking ugly day today, orpahans and a good 1.5 TH/s less of suckers :/

Two orpahans in two days!  Angry

WTF?

spiccioli

Yeah, variance is killing me.  Looks like a lot of hash power has dropped off too.   Tongue

This is not variance, two orpahans in a row is just plain bad luck :/

spiccioli
Even without the Orphans, we should be finding 2-3 blocks a day. no blocks on the 14th, just one today, and that one is  an orphan.  That variance.

8 TH/s at current difficulty are worth around 35 BTCs/day, so less than 1 and a half of a block/day.

Coming after we start to push out Cairnsmore4 mega systems to customers

Speaking of CM4s do you have any updated specs? Price, delivery times etc?

406  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: [ANN] Bitfury ASIC sales in EU and Europe on: September 14, 2013, 07:16:30 AM
I just spent a couple of hours fine tuning and I still get the best hash rate letting auto tune take care of everything.   I am getting 440 to 450 noncerate on a full rig with my workers set to a diff of 64.

I agree, I've spent more than 10 hours until now, the problem is sometimes the unit spirals down for unknown reasons.

I've made a couple changes to the miner, but they're not enough for it not to happen.

407  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: BFL & The Reasons For the VERY VERY slow deliverys on: September 14, 2013, 07:13:00 AM

P.P.P.S So unless u can build & design an ASIC chip mining for SHA is no longer for you

Fun thing is this morning I was just thinking about the fact the ASIC makers are more or less like a Mint selling coins below their face value.

Mining is going to be restricted to a selected few which can build an hashing chip, those who sold until now did this just to cover their expenses and as such have a better return...

Turns out I lost nothing.

Same for me, I pulled out my 2.4 BTCs, but I've been idle for weeks on localbitcoins, so I did not read anything from the site.

OP thread updated

marto74,

I see a chip hashing very low from your image, chip 5, is this the same production problem of bfsb h-cards (bad soldering) or is this a problem with the chip itself?

will your cards have a guaranteed minimun speed?

It's not so easy to ROI in bitcoins even for Avalon batch1/2 purchasers.
http://cointext.com/bitcoin-mining-profitability-an-example/
Net wallet +0.45btc excluding $1400 costs

Those counts are screwed by two batch 3 units at 101 BTCs each.

Avalon batch 1 and 2 did completely break-even and are now positive.

Dear Bitmine customers,

As an update, if you place your order today, it will get shipped by the 19th of December 2013 so you're still very well in time to be among the first users receiving our products!

Giorgio,

can you give us a ballpark number of placed and paid-for orders so that we can estimate, at least partially, december difficulty since you're selling one of the most powerfull units around.

Thanks.

Short update:

punin,

given bitmine.ch offerings for december... 2 TH/s 11.5K EUR, are you going to offer a november 5 (pack of) 400 GH/s units at a little higher price point? Smiley

Energy wise you should still be a little better than their announced 1.7 KW.

413  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: **US** BitFury Setup Guide on: September 12, 2013, 06:53:43 AM

I had a bunch of issues with mine when I first set them up due to fans. They caused the boards to vibrate slightly and that killed my hashrate.

I moved the fan a LOT further away where they just keep the air moving around the cards. Now there's no problem.

You might be seeing a similar issue depending on your setup.

Ha!

I thought this could be the reason, vibration induced by the flow, so I removed my fans from Spotswood case.

I'll try to have them reversed, so that they suck up air through the cards instead of pushing it, this should cause less vibrations.

We'll see.

spiccioli

Or you could put a bit more downward pressure onto the top edges of the h-boards by "raising" the rig a millimeter or two, by putting washers underneath each spacer (between the extrusion and the spacer).

Yes, this is another options,

but after I reversed the fans and let it run for nearly a day I did not see any difference in speed.

I'm not pencil modding it yet, but it seems that at around 25 C ambient temp you can run it without fans.

spiccioli

ps. you can also lower the bar that holds card stoppers (I don't know how to call them Smiley) putting a washer or two between the bar and the extrusion.

OK,  after much monitoring and troubleshooting I am thinking that my hashrate drop at Slushs's pool occurs about every 6 hours or so.
The only way to bring it back up is stopping the miner and restarting it.

Any way I can make it auto restart every 2 hours?

just switch to btcguild - heh

just swith to HHTT - heh

Coloring is better now, I'd say there are very few combinations left which pose some reading problems (to me).

Thanks  Cheesy

Now I can't find my link on the main page - everything is just underlined...  No big deal, since I have it bookmarked...

I can make the visited links more obvious which will probably help.

Sorry to keep bothering you, table headers always white would be better, IMHO.

I think it works pretty well given how silly it is.  You can take a crack at it if you like, I've copied the php file so you can see the source:

http://hhtt.1209k.com/colors.txt

It is always set to no-cache so a quick refresh should get you out of anything especially ugly.

Fireduck,

it probably is that my eyes are becoming old Smiley

Anyway, here are three examples of what I find too dark to be able to easily read cell contents and visited links.

I confirm that reloading the page always works.

Regarding the software - Bitfury runs customized Linux distribution. There are some software source files (C++) on the SD card, but I'm not sure if they are all that you need to compile everything yourself.

Yes,

you can build it yourself with a

Code:
make clean

I was making a play on 'week' and that I don't really like that graph package.  It seems to work alright and it isn't a huge pain to use so makes sense to stick with.

Ah ok Smiley

spiccioli

ps. Do you have time to give some love to the coloring code? Lighter backgrounds or dark ones but with a light foreground color... I'd venture to say... no bleak backgrounds! Smiley
