101  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Running bitcoind in pruning mode on: November 04, 2015, 04:08:03 PM
Also, is there any benefit in running a pruned node? Would that still contribute to the bitcoin network as a whole?

You still verify and relay transactions. Other nodes can no longer get block from you though, at least for now.

You can also add prune=30000 to the bitcoin.conf file.

Gotcha, thanks!

Hi all,

I'm trying to run a bitcoin node (satoshi 0.11) in pruning mode. If I want to keep the blockchain size at 30gb, should I just restart bitcoind with the command 'bitcoind -prune=30000' ?

Cheers,
John

Went through the code on github, yep I was doing it correctly.

105  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin is Illegal in Taiwan (China) on: November 03, 2015, 03:23:10 AM
Nah, Taiwan and China has different governing body as of now and is pretty different in terms of their view of bitcoin.
106  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Singapore pretends to be pro bitcon on: November 03, 2015, 12:53:10 AM
OP has been spreading weird news and stuff of late - check his previous posts. I can attest to the fact that Singapore is one of the safer countries, if not a 'nanny state' at most.  They're pretty pro bitcoin in the sense that they're exploring bitcoin actively.
107  Other / Off-topic / Re: I Am Very Very Scared on: November 02, 2015, 07:47:14 PM
I'm scared if I'll get robbed at gunpoint for everything I own too, no just bitcoin.

This is going to be some kind of a record if this actually turns out to be a scam...
109  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How safe it is to download the blockchain from a torrent? on: November 02, 2015, 04:45:04 PM
The newer client bootstraps the older blocks for you as fast as (if not faster) then downloading the torrent. I'd say that using a torrent is redundant nowadays.

Due to the overwhelming evidence of excess money printing

The Crypto Currency Central Bank under the Crypto Currency

Constitution and to protect the integrity of Crypto users has

declared Singapore a Terrorist state, avoid travel there

at all costs.

Uh. Are you high on something? This doesn't make sense at all.
115  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: [WTS] SILENT MINERS (X-1, Monarch) on: October 17, 2015, 08:57:15 PM
Anybody interested in buying a 100GH/s X-1 or a  350GH/s Monarch?  They are both nearly silent and would probably make great miners for someone with cheap power and in need of some heat for the winter with no noise.  Open to offers.  Shipping from Arizona, US.

How much for the Monarch? I'm in MA. Thanks! Cheesy
116  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Marketplace (Altcoins) / Re: Selling Faster Ethminer on: October 16, 2015, 04:01:33 AM
Please note that I've recently escrowed a transaction for OP (Mcoleman) with another user here who wanted to buy his 'miner'. It turned out to be a virus instead that would take over your miners and control your computer. Please beware of the user here.
117  Economy / Digital goods / Re: 🌟🌟🌟🌟 LIFETIME VPS METHOD WITHOUT INVESTING - VOUCHED [GUARANTEED] $1🌟🌟🌟🌟 on: October 15, 2015, 02:10:23 AM
....

Inorder for RDP to work an additional $1/mo or $10/yr is charged for public ip and then need to setup port forwarding for it to work

After setting up the server and stuff (note that there's a website guide in the site too), I've noticed that you'll indeed need to pay that fee in order for SSH/RDP etc to work as per what techgeeks8 said above. Everything else works fine though, I'm trying to set up reverse port forwarding atm.

119  Economy / Digital goods / Re: Linkedin Data Mining Made EASY! FREE 750+ contact info of CEOs in California on: October 13, 2015, 04:27:29 AM
Tried out the method detailed, significantly increased my efficiency to search for people on Linkedin. Some users are still not viewable without a premium account, but I was able to mostly otherwise increase my searching power. Thanks!

Just received the files from OP, looks good so far. Will test and leave a complete review tomorrow morning.
