I remember we had a case with him last time where he showed signs of suicide via posts here. Bruno even called the cops on him just in case (bless him, where's old Bruno now?). That said, I guess him having some time off the forums to get his life straightened out would be a good change too. Maybe a ban removal some time in the future?

My not-so TL;DR take on this: Loan is in USD. (BTC/wire transfer etc is just the way to transfer the $1000, doesn't matter which one here) Collateral is 120% of the $1000's current USD value. (to be tweaked depending on the exchange rate fluctuations) I'd say that this is a fairly common collateralized loaning arrangement, where the loaner has a slight risk of BTC tanking sharply at a short amount of time, but it would generally work out fine. As for the 1% per month, the percentage is quite low given the circumstances (escrow fee factored?) , but that's obviously up to the free market to decide. I've done a few loans with this kind of arrangement (collaterized with shares/BTC/ even once a physical Casascius BTC), and I'd say that the risks for all parties are pretty low.

Amex Serve closed, in desperate shape
Last week my Serve account was closed, siting a breach of terms. After multiple phone calls to American Express, they really could not indicate what I had done to deserve the closure. What's worse, is that they have yet to confirm if they are sending back the funds, which consisted of my total fiat worth. With Thanksgiving here in two days, and me due to travel via train and bus to spend time with my family, I am flat broke and searching for a short term bitcoin loan until I can settle the Serve case. Yes of course , so if someone want to have a vanity address I suggest to generate it alone with personal pc. Not exactly - there's split key generation available, where it's possible for them to generate the key for you, and yet keep the private key safe. |

Segvec was kind enough to loan me .025, which got me around $10 at the market here. I am still looking for another .04 or so. Payback will be on December 1st. Don't know if anyone else got chopped from the Amex serve accounts, apparently a lot of other people who use Localbitcoins were also victim to the closures. Thanks to anyone who can help.
