...Recently we were visiting London.  I had read somewhere that the UK authorities had banned BTC ATMs because, well, reasons.  coinatmradar.com did (and still does) show some +/- 10 such BTMs in greater London.  So, being the sort I am (I did not want to hang around my wife and her friend doing boring tourist stuff) went to check one out.

Well, it turns out that I found one that would sell me BTC without asking for ID or even an SMS by cellphone.  Just put your money in, and get BTC out.  Worked just fine.

BTM located in a market with an ethnic name close to the Angel subway station ("Northern Line").

When I travel to other countries, I like to buy BTC as a souvenir, smile.  It also gets me to visit places I otherwise would likely not visit.

hahahaha

Funny how you characterize Mrs. OROBTC and her friend doing "boring tourist stuff," while nerdy uie-poie have your own OROBTC version of "nerdy tourist stuff."

What's so funny about that?   Tongue  Would you rather go to some museum or the Freddy Mercury Walking Tour instead?  Buying Souvenir BTC in other countries is another one of those "Buy and Save in the Same Transaction" things I really like.

OTOH, I was unable to buy a Platinum Philharmonic (platinum bullion coin from Austria) in London!  Such a big city, such a banking powerhouse...  I went everywhere I could over the city (even their gold & diamond district, another thing I like to do when touristing interesting places overseas) looking for one.  Still, I did not leave empty-handed, so there's that.

What fees did that BTM charge?

.....

People make money in all kinds of ways.. including figuring out ways to stack sats..  .. it is not really on topic here to suggest that there might be some good things about sh...<snipped>

To be clear, I accumulate my BTC via weekly DCA.
My shitcoinery daze (and mining) are long since done.
I still do dabble in, and enjoy the occasional fart joke however.
Nuff said.

... sorry that I mix your subject matter preferences up with sirazimuth since he's the one who seems to get so much bonus pleasures out of the inclusion of farts within any story / joke.

Most people here will be driving a brand new car in approximately 24 months from now.  Smiley

Never buy brand new, always a shitty investment. As soon as you drive it off the forecourt it loses value. I always go for 6-9 months old.

I will be getting a new whip in the next bull cycle again, well a 6-9 month old one Smiley

I'm considering upgrading from this

to this

in the next bull cycle.

Brutal

I tell ya its tough out there. Being in crypto gets you no respect.

Went to the barber today, said what kind of haircut can I get for 100 DOGE

He said 100 DOGE gets you a shampoo of my balls

Then he doused me with barbicide and set me on fire

No respect at all

Didn't you see the no dogs sign outside the door?

It's strange, from my perspective, but if you are making hundreds of millions, if not billions every year, then what to spend (waste) it all on?

These.

Wow - A kind of shitcoiner fantasy, no?

you do realize the she whacked that alien. So are you rooting for crypto over btc?

Yes, but she had an alien's baby, so it fucked her before she whacked it.

A mirror image, so that's UP, right?
Nevermind...red candles, but then it is an impossibru pic.

EDIT: btw, the fact that i would need to order prescription inserts makes me less enthusiastic about the whole 'thing'.
What if i have multiple people with glasses in my household? Keep changing the inserts? Ridiculous.

I never considered needing prescription goofy goggles.

What if you need a prescription like this?

Do the goofy goggles look like this?

Feds, bankers and SEC trying everything to stop the Bitcoin bull market. First they hammered the banks that operated with the exchanges. Then the feds started selling in portions their bitcoins with the sole purpose of creating FUD and artificial sell pressure on the markets. Finally they hammered the two biggest exchanges. Bitcoin CEO, however, had other plans Smiley

Breaking News!

An authoritative source has informed me that the dust has finally settled on the defunct QuadrigaCX exchange and former customers are getting ~13% of their money/coins deposited back based on the values when the exchange went bust.

Edit: cheques are currently being delivered.

I don't see any link so it must not be true.

This lazy cat bot does not do google self-searching

Quote
Creditors of the bankrupt Canadian crypto exchange QuadrigaCX are set to receive 13% of their total claims as part of an “interim dividend.”

According to a May 12 notice to creditors from QuadrigaCX’s bankruptcy trustee Ernst & Young (EY), each “creditor with a proven claim will receive 13.094156% of their proven claim less the levy amount payable to the Office of the Superintendent of Bankruptcy pursuant to the BIA.”

“The interim dividend provides for a distribution of approximately 87.0% of the funds the Trustee is currently holding. The remaining funds will be held as a reserve for future disbursements related to the administration of the bankruptcy. A final distribution will be made at a later date,” EY added.

Got my claim cheque. What a joke.

I had over 1.2 BTC when quadriga shut down in two seperate accounts. (That's almost 70k CaD in today money)

I received this today from one account. It had 0.53 BTC in it at the time, worth over $17k Canadian today.

They calculated the BTC at the value it was when quadriga closed down.

Can I have my BTC back instead?

Fuck you E&Y, youre just as much of a crook that quadriga was.

Something tells me that the aliens would probably be more interested in crypto than fiat…

What if Bitcoin was the advancement they were waiting for us to make?

Or maybe they just want to steal our cows.
