This time last year...

In November a year ago the Fucking village changed to Fugging village, but they still pronounce it as Fucking village.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fugging,_Upper_Austria

Quote
The council of Tarsdorf voted in their 17 November 2020 session to have the village's name officially changed to Fugging (pronounced the same as Fucking in the dialect spoken in the region), effective 1 January 2021.

Quote
The following month, signs with the new name were vandalised to read "Fucking".

https://www.mirror.co.uk/news/weird-news/weve-fg-had-enough--fed-up-797502

Quote
they will be following in the footsteps of stadium bosses in Switzerland who were forced to change their name from Wankdorf because red-faced stars were too embarrassed to play there.

The name of the venue - in Bern - was changed to Stade de Suisse after concert dates dried up. One of the few who did not cancel was Robbie Williams who played in front of 40,000 fans and asked the crowd: "Is this place really called ‘Wankdorf’? What kind of name is that?"

Quote
But the Wankdorf shopping centre next door to the stadium kept it's name - and the Swiss village of Wank also kept its name. In fact two years ago Wank residents urged the Fucking residents to lighten up - open a few guests houses and sell souvenirs to cash in on their fame.

The Wank Guest House, they said, was full all year round.

I couldn't find out if the locals call themselves wankers. Googling it brought up a load of links to porn sites.

Good news not moving the price much. Like CEO of Apple invested in Crypto or Elon Musk selling 20 BN of his stocks for Bitcoin. But one small unconfirmed FUD and we see a massive dump. This market is so shaky.

When the price moves, it tends to leave the order book a bit flat behind it. A well executed FUD dump like this can knock things back down pretty easily.

When did E. Musk say he was putting the billions in BTC?

I don't know if he said that. I know people were suggesting he invest the billions he gets from selling tesla shares into bitcoin.

https://news.bitcoin.com/elon-musk-twitter-poll-decide-sell-20-billion-tesla-stock-investors-buy-bitcoin/

Quote
A number of people suggested that Musk should use the proceeds from selling his TSLA stock to buy BTC. For example, Microstrategy CEO Michael Saylor suggested: “If the goal is diversification, an alternate strategy to consider is converting the TSLA balance sheet to a Bitcoin Standard and purchasing $25 billion in BTC.

Syke posted this, but I don't know if Elon Musk actually said it.

Bear in mind other @RelevantElon tweets aren't very serious, such as this one.

Evergrande defaulted.

Weak hands selling.

Are you sure? Some website's are saying they defaulted, but others are saying Evergrande made some slightly overdue payments that might buy it more time.

I'm not sure what's happening. Someone on twitter said it's like a Schrödinger's cat default.

China Evergrande Group looks set to avert another default in its biggest test since the property developer’s debt crisis began.

Customers of international clearing firm Clearstream received overdue interest payments on three U.S. dollar bonds issued by Evergrande, a spokesperson for Clearstream said. Two investors that hold two of the bonds confirmed that they received the payments, asking not to be identified because they weren’t authorized to speak publicly.

Investors had been waiting to see if the embattled developer would make the coupon payments totaling $148.1 million before the end of 30-day grace periods on Wednesday.

Such is the dire state of the company, experts now predict the company will announce bankruptcy in a "matter of days". According to Deutsche Marktscreening Agentur (DMSA), the collapse of the company could now have dire consequences for the financial system. DMSA itself has invested in bonds paid to Evergrande and did not receive interest repayments from the company.

Quote
Due to these missed repayments, DMSA is now preparing bankruptcy proceedings against Evergrande.

Quote
"But so far we have not received any interest on our bonds.

"With banks in Hong Kong closing today, it's certain that these bonds have defaulted."

To top it off, risk-off is accelerating on the news that the cash-strapped China Evergrande Group has missed coupon payments by the end of a 30-day grace period, pushing the developer again to the edge of default.

Update: In more recent trade, the headlines are now stating that the company has met at least one of its deadlines for repayments, but there are reports that bankruptcy proceedings are still underway.

proudhon = rich

Maybe no need to speculate any kind of exactness of such stash.. but just go through questions about whether some of those coins were shaken out along the way... nothing like going to the horse's mouth itself to get some confirmations, right?

Maybe proudhon's sold when he starts posting bear talk. Then maybe he buys back in after he's brought the price down.

Oh yeah, a new ATH is just around the corner /s

I wonder if proudhon ever paid adamstgBit the 10 bitcoins he promised him for being so profoundly short sighted and wrong. I'll gladly take them as adam's not been around for a while.

hold your lol's for next years, when you sold off all your bitcoins and the price keeps going up but you dont care cuz your busy buying a new house  Wink

If that happens adamstgBit, I'll give you 10 bitcoins, just for me being so profoundly short sighted and wrong.  Free of charge.
972  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: November 08, 2021, 11:53:07 PM

Perhaps he can buy some off proudhon.

Who has the highest BTC balance?  Not me.  I've got more than 1000 but less than 4000.

I've got > 2000 and < 5000.  Last year when I started I remember thinking "I hope one day to have 200".  On then on the way down from $32 I kept scooping them up with my biggest haul coming in at $2.4x after the last $2.00 bounce.  I keep saying to myself, "I've got enough", and I think I've got plenty, but it'd sure be nice to have 10,000...

But maybe proudhon's not selling.

...

As bearish as I am and remain, I've still got a nice stash of bitcoins in offline storage that intend to keep forever, even though recent price movements have been tempting me to sell.
973  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: November 04, 2021, 07:15:26 PM

well, it's a "bit" optimistic, but i like it.

That said, what would be a % of WO that would think that 84K wave 2 "top" is IT and would start selling as it would go down a bit down to re-test 65K?
Nerves would be fried remembering 2017, right?

Kind of look forward to this because I know that obnoxious bitboy would surely sell there.
bitboy=Vinny Lindham of 2017
can't stand that loudmouth (both of them, actually)..

It’s less optimistic as Proudhon version is….
Both versions are confirmed by math and science I have heard

Proudhon's version depends on whether he's in bull mode or not.

Ok, guys, now that I've bought in again I'm switching to bull mode.  Rally on!  The fundamentals are sound.  Notice how I've changed my avatar to reflect my new position.

Quite times are always followed by volatile times. We will soon see some stronger action in the next days

My hunch is that the next rally phase is going to leave as many bodies in its wake as the decline from the $32 high has - many people who are out BTC and into cash aren't going to be able to jump back on quick enough and will end up taking a big hit to their BTC position.

I guess this is as good a time as ever to admit that I went all in back at $2.4 but have had my finger very nervously over the sell button ever since.

...

Hey proudhon, weren't you saying it was going to die under $2.5?  Now you're saying you bought below $2.5... so you were a closet bull all along, eh?

I wouldn't say that.  I sincerely thought the price was going to fall through $2.00 and keep going.  When it looked like things were going to go better than expected, I hopped back on.  And in the nick of time, too.

Hey did I miss this?

To be honest, I don't see future for BSV - positions are getting lower and lower, capitalization is not growing, and it is not visible, due to which progress can be made
We are very sorry for that. We can't hide it anymore, things really went wrong.

We thank everyone who supported us. We tried our best to develop an unique project, but global crypto-community was not on our side

Please forgive us if you can

So, if they had 10 BTC, they would end up getting 2.3 BTC for the settlement?

Maybe, but coinlab complicates things, and the last time I checked there was a huge claim from the bitcoinica exchange that was storing coins on gox for "security". I'm not sure if that complicates things even more.

978  Economy / Exchanges / Re: MtGox withdrawal delays [Gathering] on: October 21, 2021, 02:58:37 PM
Does this mean they will start paying people some bitcoins back soon, or could the coinlab claim still put everything on hold?

https://coinmarketcap.com/alexandria/article/mt-gox-rehabilitation-plan-approved

Quote
A rehabilitation plan that would reunite Mt. Gox victims with billions of dollars has been overwhelmingly approved.

A whopping 99% of affected creditors cast a vote on the proposals, with 83% saying they were in favor of the plans that had been put forward by the trustee.

The outcome of the ballot is expected to be finalized in a month’s time — and from here, repayments will begin to be made.

Have the creditors approved coinlab's plan?

https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2021-01-15/coinlab-reaches-deal-with-mt-gox-trustee-over-bitcoin-claims

Quote
Creditors seeking to regain Bitcoin lost on the Japanese exchange Mt. Gox in 2014 have a chance to get their digital assets back before legal claims are settled.

CoinLab Inc. said an agreement with Nobuaki Kobayashi, the trustee to the Mt. Gox bankruptcy, and MGIFLP, a unit of Fortress Investment Group LLC, will allow creditors to consider an offer of as much as 90% of the remaining Bitcoin tied up in the bankruptcy.

The plan must be approved by creditors and investors aren’t obligated to take the early payment and can wait for the lawsuits to settle

About as high as the chance of this thing mining a block.
