101  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Bitcoin Cash - Pro on-chain scaling - Cheaper fees on: August 16, 2018, 11:13:44 AM
Bitmain switches all it's miners over to bch and starts buying bch with the IPO money, the momentum would shift dramatically, some Bitcoin core die hard supporters might go down with the ship, but the vast majority of crypto investors don't treat the 2017 scaling war like a religion, they'll just follow the herd when it's obvious the flippening is first possible, then probable, then actually happening

I interpret this recent bitmain document release very differently,  it shows bitmain will likely have a war chest of all three resources they need to achieve their goal sometime soonish; bch reserves, IPO cash, miners ... I think bitmain is in a very powerful position now, I see dudes like Jimmy Song trying to spin bitmain as having failed at a peg in his videos, but imo bitmain will soon have everything they need to manipulate the price to something close to parity, and even if it's not popular at first, fear will take over enough traders already suffering  big losses from the bear market, and bingo, the herd moves to bch.

The bitmain finances show they are serious, there's just not enough financial backing on the other side with the same level of skin in the game, the big traders just want to make money, they're not emotionally attached like zealots on this forum, they'll move their money to the Bitcoin version that has price support and mining, and the bounty bitmain will reap from the accumulated bch could make them a trillion dollar company sooner than many think, a powerful incentive to go all in for the flippening.

Fascinating times!  Once it starts the early movers make money when they convert at the expense of those who delay, so once the momentum starts it could be quick!

bitmain have shot their bolt and thrown the kitchen sink and still failed and that was at a point where holders had free BCH so, as the advocates maintained at the time, they had 'nothing to lose' if it flipped.

now it's over a year since the fork and there'll be millions of people who don't have any of it and have no interest in owning it.

there is no one with any credibility involved with BCH. no financial institution has made any mention of BCH whatsoever. it gets virtually no press.

it was a one time shot at usurping bitcoin. it failed. there won't be another. that doesn't mean there won't be big ass pumps in future but its place in the firmament is set. if they let go of their obsession of 'becoming' bitcoin and concentrated on being a great coin they'll get alot further.

102  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Bitcoin Cash - Pro on-chain scaling - Cheaper fees on: August 14, 2018, 10:18:30 AM
BCH is the biggest threat to BTC and LN is the biggest threat to all of crypto. As BTC falls in this bear market it will give BCH plenty of chances to take marketshare and decouple.

read that.

https://medium.com/@btcWolves/a-bch-update-bitmain-bch-the-ipo-what-it-all-actually-means-354220b86ac3

and tell me there's anything credible about this coin at the moment.

they've tried every trick in the book. they all failed. looks like bitmain have thrown away hundreds of millions of dollars attempting it.

the best thing they can do is let nature take its course, keep working on the actual functionality of the coin and if it turns out great then the market will agree. smoke and mirrors will only get you so far.
103  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Jihan Wu in half a billion in losses after BCash trade on: August 14, 2018, 10:15:41 AM
i'm surprised there hasn't been more talk of this on here.

it's been an absolutely insane move on bitmain's part and totally craps all over their reputation as shrewd operators.

they mined bcash but didn't sell any of it. that means they swallowed all of the cost for that electricity, gear, premises and staff. they insisted on taking it for their miners but again didn't cash out any of it. and on top of that they used the bitcoin they have mined in the past to buy more bcash.

didn't anyone in the company pipe up at any point about this being a shitty idea?

how can they expect any investor to take a company seriously willing to burn untold amounts to service a grudge? at no point anywhere does any of it make any economic sense. it's pure brat.
104  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: BYTEBALL: Totally new consensus algorithm + private untraceable payments on: August 12, 2018, 04:22:43 PM
Wow, under 0.01 BTC. Down about 97% from ath versus BTC and 94% from ath versus USD. Looks like new marketing and distribution methods very effective Cheesy

The price is real crazy - a real let down for those who believed in the project and invested their money. I think Tony should have a real hard look at the distribution methods. Having no marketing might be better than the current dysfunctional methods.

however you want to look at it, that is a genuinely pitiful figure. the more telling one is how far down the rankings it's tumbled as the actual percentages ain't too far off many much larger projects.

most people were here for the airdrops and nothing else. had the airdrops continued as scheduled the same probably would've happened but the uncertainty and rug pulling did not help. people like plans. they like plans even more that are stuck to.

if you can't stick the plan clearly signal it a long time before and introduce a new one at the same time.
105  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Bounties (Altcoins) / Re: [FULL] BITCORE BTX Signature Campaign - Hero/Legendary Members - $50/week on: August 12, 2018, 11:41:07 AM
i'm signing off from this campaign and opening a space for someone else. thanks for everything. it's been great.
106  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Bitcoin Cash - Pro on-chain scaling - Cheaper fees on: August 10, 2018, 11:44:21 AM
Your personal encounter with Viabtc does not reflect the total market and it does qualify as an organic launch unless you believe Bitcoin Cash is the real Bitcoin, in that case there was a 90% crash. You are letting your personal opinion get in the way of facts.

can you give me a complete rundown of these facts you talk about? i'm confused.

as far as i can tell it this chain hit the ground running and had the advantage of already being owned by every bitcoin owner. that in no way makes it comparable to something like monero.
107  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2018-08-10] New Bill Proposes 5% Tax on Crypto Incomes in Ukraine on: August 10, 2018, 11:42:24 AM
that's a tax rate most people elsewhere could get behind. i think it's 55 or 60% in japan. but the idea of that tax being on all purchases with crypto is a pretty dumb idea. it should only be above a certain level.

and what the hell's with that war tax? i've never heard of anything like that before.
108  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][BCC] Bitconnect Coin - Decentralized Cryptocurrency on: August 10, 2018, 11:12:30 AM
Why would a Ponzi schemer (aka shitty criminal) rehash this when everybody knows it was a scam? Why not just build a new scam from the ground up? This coins stands for nothing but greed and stupidity. Its reputation is extremely negative. That's why its not going anywhere. Want to make a bet?

because most people are incredibly stupid and many will have heard the name.

like i said, if it's a functioning coin, and i'm not sure about that, then maybe it'll be treated as a standard speculative vehicle in future. you don't have to glue a ponzi on top of it.

if someone has bags they may try to pump and people will join any pump.
109  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Bitcoin Cash - Pro on-chain scaling - Cheaper fees on: August 10, 2018, 11:09:19 AM
BCH has been around for now just over 1 year now is is the fastest growing cryptocurrency in that span being now 4th on the marketcap... much more successful then Monero too based on these LOGICAL FACTS. Perhaps re-do your math to interpret the facts with more appropriately then just the usual ‘name calling precedent’

wut?

monero was born and grew from nothing.

the very first bcash exchange i could get onto last august was viabtc where the price was about 0.14 btc. that doesn't qualify as an organic launch or much growth either.
110  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][BCC] Bitconnect Coin - Decentralized Cryptocurrency on: August 09, 2018, 10:42:24 AM
I know. I'm telling you for sure. There will be no miracle. The coin produced nothing. It is a collapsed Ponzi scheme. What's somebody gonna do? Pick the Ponzi scheme back up, dust if off and raise it from the dead? It's still a Ponzi scheme. A revamped pile of horseshit is still a pile of horseshit.

does it have its own actual functioning blockchain with wallets and stuff and a way to mine or stake? if it does then i see no reason why it can't pump again as a vanilla coin promising nothing. weirder things have happened and it certainly had a high profile for a while. and it's not as if crypto will ever run low on shamelessness.
111  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: UNITED BITCOIN on: August 09, 2018, 10:33:35 AM
So the deadline to claim UBTC is over?

I’m guessing their foundation got millions of free coins.  All for themselves.  I don’t see how they can sell this to mainstream investors.  They should have at least done an airdrop like BTX.

it's long, long gone. and i seem to remember them constantly changing the goalposts too. when announced claiming it looked relatively simple, then they made it gradually more impossible and i gave up. one of the shoddiest operations i've ever seen and it just goes to show what would've happened if segwit2x had passed as the same guy would've been in charge.

i have not seen a mention of this coin for several months so it's safe to say it's been an absolute non event. jeff garzik is now doing that metronome thing.
112  Economy / Speculation / Re: When Will the Bear Market End? on: August 09, 2018, 10:10:11 AM
I think this question should be no one knows the answer. The last round of the bear market was ended at the beginning of 2017 and originated at the end of 2013, it lasted for about three years. But this round of bear market is only eight months until now, it’s very likely that it will last longer.

there's a difference between a bear market and a flat or bored market. the bear market ended in 2015. after that it was a sideways/dead market until it started to move up again.

i expect it to last into next year. when every single sign of life is still jumped on as a sign of the reversal of everything that tell us confidence is still too high.
113  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][Main] Bitcore- BTX - Are you ready for the future? on: August 09, 2018, 12:04:15 AM
BTX has the potential to be a serious player. Bitcoin Gold has made it in to number 25 by virtue of market capital so Bitcore can do it too

Great coin with great team Smiley

how much bitcoin gold has never been claimed? a crazy high amount i'll guess as it takes some effort to dig out and most can't be bothered.

bitcore on the other hand is properly distributed as they did it for us. that's probably the main reason why all our assholes are stinging right now. some day that should count for something positive. not today.
114  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Bitcoin Cash - Pro on-chain scaling - Cheaper fees on: August 07, 2018, 07:24:36 PM
how does anyone think banning the actual creator of the project from the slack is anything other than insanity? since this was highlighted by roger ver i presume this is a faketoshi initiated schism.

https://www.reddit.com/r/btc/comments/959tbe/amaury_creator_of_bitcoin_cash_has_been_banned/

then again faketoshi believes there's an infinite supply of developers. good luck with that one.

can anyone give me a run down of what craig wright has achieved in life so far and what he'll offer the world in the future? i can't think of anything.
115  Economy / Speculation / Re: Do you suppose $8200 may be a sign for the bull run? on: August 07, 2018, 06:47:14 PM
we were over $8200 a few days. nothing changed. the price fell.

a proper bull run will happen when there are less people scratching around looking to label every modest move up as a bull run.

if it smashes 10 grand with confidence maybe things will start moving properly. i don't expect that this year but never say never.
116  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Ripple, Tron, Cardano: overhype and uselessness define these 3 cryptocurrencies on: August 05, 2018, 11:18:23 PM
Tron made a pretty good move in buying Bittorrent and making use of that network for their pet project called 'Project Atlas'.

Afaik, project Atlas will be a way to make seeders earn some money.  Then next phase would be a decentralized Netflix, where users can stream vids with each other and earn some TRX while doing it.

i didn't realise that. the tron guy has it in the bag.

i'm really surprised more of these paper billionaires haven't clued up and made the move into established business areas like him. they have the money to throw around to force their crappy ideas on the rest of the world by stealth.
117  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Do you actually think major coins will be live in 2025? on: August 05, 2018, 11:14:35 PM
the only one i'd be 100% certain of is bitcoin. everything else is fair game.

ethereum had better get its act together because it's looking more like a prototype for a real contract coin every day. litecoin needs to actually be used for something.

monero is the other one but it needs to become less painful to use and i fully expect privacy coins to be driven out of conventional markets as the price for doing business.

everything else out there right now will probably be long dead by then.
118  Economy / Economics / Re: Do you remember Bitconnect? I lost 3500 dollars in this pyramid! on: August 05, 2018, 01:31:03 PM
https://twitter.com/BitcoinTre/status/1025459485714919427

the wheels are grinding into motion on this. maybe someone somewhere will be tracked down and forced to answer for this. even if the money's long gone it'll be sweet comeuppance.
119  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Ripple, Tron, Cardano: overhype and uselessness define these 3 cryptocurrencies on: August 05, 2018, 12:08:02 AM
everyone knows in their hearts these coins are shit. that doesn't stop them pumping the shit out of them anyway.

if you let go of your objectivity you'll no doubt wind up a bunch richer. i'm really amazed most of the coins out there are worth anything at all still. just goes to show we have a way to fall yet.

and the tron guy was very smart. he used his dumb money to buy bittorrent so from now on he's a tech player no matter what happens to his shitcoin.
120  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][BCC] Bitconnect Coin - Decentralized Cryptocurrency on: August 04, 2018, 11:51:49 PM

Either Trevon is stupid as fcuk or he's trying to project that image in the hopes that SEC officials will take pity of him and think it was just a silly

mistake.

It might take some years but I am guessing that we will be hearing that whoever the brains behind Bitconnrekt got arrested at some point.

the same thing will be repeated over and over.

all these crypto morons came out of nowhere not believing any law applies to them. they might think they're somehow special. the law sure does not.

they're gonna get hammered.
