I would argue that each sale has had a lesser and lesser effect on the market. I wonder how we'll do after the 5th. I'm excited.  Grin

Error $404, bear not found.

$380 looks like a pretty solid floor, now if china could pull the USD exchanges into one more attempt at $500+... that would be great.

It's, what, 10 BTC to 380 and hardly anything below that on Bitstamp. A floor?

... holy shit! I didn't see that orderbook. Wow, goes to show how fast the orderbook can change.

Pump is over for the moment.
Let's hope you locked-in your profits.

Now it's again time to wait and trade wisely.

Bitcoin is fun with 100 BTC to just gamble. Poor beggars with less than 10 BTC.

I dont even have ONE bitcoin. I've been trading with under $200 this whole time, with a little bit of profit from it. Though, now that you mention it... Anybody got BTC9.5 to spare?  Grin As for 500BTC being enough to manipulate the market, I know of a certain mexican exchange that has about 40BTC of daily volume, so I think that if used wisely, you can definitely move the market in some very specific conditions.

Like I've said before, even if this rally fails, I will be very happy with how bitcoin performed these last couple of weeks. Aaaand looks like $400 didnt hold up.

PS: bring back noobie jail whatever that is.

Is there a theme park ride called "The Bitcoin" yet?

No, but there's one bitcoin-themed one called "the bear's profits". Yeah, I know it's a stupid name, but I just love this GIF and wanted an excuse to use it.

I'm starting to like these insta-profit flash "crashes". One moment, your buy order at $415 is getting filled, the next, your bitcoin are worth $430!

Lol, Buttertroll thinks selling forum accounts is against the law. Man, sometimes I feel sad ignoring newbies, but some of that nonsense is just not worth spending even three second skiing through.
First bear trap triggered, two more to go! I'm a bit worried that we might not see a rebound from this, but at least it was a good demonstration of how far we can go in this ending (ended?) bear/flat market.

Remember, guys 1 bitcoin will always be equal to one bitcoin, and I'm glad that this very powerful tool is seeing some action price-wise.

bitcoin offers unalienable security.

1/2 hexahash decentralized P2P network remember?

Bitcoin so far has been adopted as a currency only by criminals and scammers. Adoption for legitimate commerce is tiny, and largely to limited to users who want to push bitcoin for other reasons than its qualities as a payment method.  Actual use of bitcoin, in practice, still requires trusting third parties -- like Blockstream, Coinbase, Bitstamp, SatoshiLabs, etc..

[CITATION NEEDED]

Also, I dont care if people buy drugs with bitcoin. Lots of governments have needlessly made a multibillion dollar industry illegal, it's only a testament to how useful bitcoin is that the drug salespeople have gone to it as their currency of choice. Bitcoin is a powerful monetary tool (and a currency itself), and just like any monetary tool (bank accounts, checks, bank transfers, remittances, cash), criminals are going to use it. I don't care that a "dirty" part of society was the first to adopt that technology.

Bitcoin sure is something else, and the next 10 years will be a testament to its success.

For what reason? Did the last bubble have a major correction down once it got vertical? You're a cool dude but don't become a bear because you sold.

From what I can tell of the bitcoinwisdom charts, there were a few significant drops in prices. For example, there was one drop from $340 to $260 between November 8th ad 9th; similarly, the 17th closed at $669 but the 18th say a low of $378. I'm counting on a re-visit to $380 within the next week. We're just warming up for the bubble preceding the halving.

wow moving higher, this dead cat really bounces

It's bounced a four times already! Stupid cat. I want it out of the way, there isnt enough space in this market for more than one animal. On other news, I jut bought some bitcoins at $520! Man, I wish there was a central-american exchange so that I didnt have to buy at such a higher price. Considering I'm currently in a place where roads are a bit of a luxury, I think I'm doing pretty well.

where do you find these deals?

Localbitcoin. I just sent this guy a moneygram order, and I'll be getting my bitcoins soon. There is a local seller here offering $600 bitcoin (his offers are always 40% above market prices), but I dont think anybody buys from the guy. I've managed to find a few local ones at under a %25 premium at times.

Bringing the future into poor places is a pretty lucrative business.

Hey, don't worry about me. Bitcoin could be $10 tomorrow, and I wouldnt care. Bitcoin is so much more useful than the money I paid to get it. I am happy to pay a premium for it meanwhile I get an account where I can buy without much hassle.

Wow! Whenever I think we're going to face some significant resistance, china just blows it up. I can't get any new bitcoin, as I'm accumulating fiat for when we're done with... whatever this is (I hope I have the opportunity to buy below $400 by January). I just finished setting up my beartraps for today, let's see how many of them click. Good luck, everyone.

Is this going parabolic faster than it did last time? Feels like it.

From what I can tell from the bitcoinwisdom charts, we've risen a bit faster. We haven't seen pullbacks (followed by a swift bounce?) of the same magnitude yet. If I were to guess, we're going to see $370 (or maybe a bit lower, depending where we go from here) again in... maybe a week or two.

She's going to have to find one of the earlier versions, I guess. Guys, I'm scared. I'm staring to doubt that I'll have an opportunity to buy cheap coins before the pre-halving boom.

Typical double top. Get ready for $2 bitcoins again! Lol. I bet we'll see $1000 again before 2016. No, not 2016, I meant before 2017.
118  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: November 03, 2015, 11:50:49 PM
amazing.

also, it could go sideway - people always forget that one.

I always forget about it because it's boring. Sideways really sucks, not as exciting as the other two.

Better to hodl than to live with anxiety of having to buy back. Peace of mind and enjoy the ride, wherever it goes.

I'm confident that I'll be able to buy back in somewhere in $380s. I don't really stress out about the market, even though it may seem that way to the people that see me check the price every 20 minutes. Right now, I'm just playing with some spare money, and even though it hurts when I lose money... I'm glad to have been part of it. The experience is what really matters to me (and the money, that matters about as much)
120  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: November 03, 2015, 05:32:08 PM
I sold a small part of my stash at $390. Not sure if I should buy back with it...

Heh, I sold some of mine at $399, now I'm just waiting for that dip to buy back. I hope I haven't made the wrong choice. Remember when $350 was an ambitious goal? Man, two months ago seems so far back now.
