We broke $260, log downtrend is now (for the short term) support. We're going up, up, up; and when we come down, we're bouncing off of $253. That is, if we go below $260 after this week.
303  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: June 30, 2015, 03:20:09 AM
price near to hit 260 $ ,  is it safe now to sell bitcoins or have to wait some more time before it achieves some peaks.

Sell now! Quickly! Before these maniacs take us to the moon!

Seriously, you all need to settle down now or you'll ruin my "sideways all summer" prediction.

 Tongue

Nope, we just pushed past the log downtrend line with a $4 pump. Now we're testing my "we're going $320+ then back to somewhere between $260 and $280 and slowly rise from there" prediction. So exciting.

Its already happening with media now reporting greece owes the money to euro countries (58 bill to germany ,30 bill italy etc) very soon these countries will turn on their citizens and ask them to suffer more austerity. Obviously greece and others cant pay so they will be asset stripped. Germany will suffer sooner or later...

...but not us.  Ohhh no!  Because we got Bitcoin!  Yeah, that's right bitches, cry!

On a less levitouus note, Gentlemen:

Fiat economy crumbling, grizzly Greek grannies leering from urine-stenched doorways, respectable matrons servicing sailors under empty ATM machines, bicycle cops setting themselves on fire, a a ...and         ...a frickin' six-dollar pump is all we can muster?!

Ffs, Gentlemen! Angry

We're ending the bear trend from $1170. We're barely above the log downtrend line from then. Give Bitcoin a few weeks. We will go over $300 in July.
305  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: June 29, 2015, 11:25:52 PM
257 bitfinex interesting. If we break 260 we will hit most likely 300 tomorrow.

And if we're going down, I'm fairly certain we will bounce off of $240.

Alternatively, any noob deterred by that FUD does not deserve bitcoin. I am convinced that bitcoin are an excellent long-term investment opportunity (hence my 4-step plan: Buy bitcoin, wait 600 days, ?, profit!). If you can't handle the risk, and are too scared by the price history (the 18 month downtrend), that is your loss. The rest of us are going to laugh all the way back to $1180 and beyond.
307  Economy / Speculation / Re: Do you think bitcoin will reach it's $1000 mark again? on: June 29, 2015, 09:54:12 PM
whenever btc price crashes it will back and rise with in months. I am expecting bitcoin price will reach $1000 in 2016

Funny, a little bird just told me that BTC will be above $1000 December 2016, March 2017 or July 2020. The halving that's coming up might change those numbers, though.

Damn, and I just changed my LTC to bitcoin about 6 weeks ago. Well, I'm waiting for this to settle back down to $3... see what happens. Good news is, we're probably going to see a similar (albeit, flatter) uptrend for bitcoin a few months before the halving. I LTC is any indication, get ready for $450+ by april 2016!
309  Economy / Speculation / Re: bitcoin reach to $250 on: June 29, 2015, 04:36:38 PM
$300 will happen sometime july, but we won't be definitely above it until sometime after August.
310  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: June 29, 2015, 04:19:00 PM
Once we breach $260 in a few hours (minutes), $300 is right around the corner.

We'll be over $310 and then drop back to sub-300. To somewhere between $260 and $280. Then we'll be moving sideways again.

The movie Wizard of Oz was about bitcoin all along. "follow the yellow brick road?" the bitcoin logo is predominantly yellow. The wizard lives in the emerald city, his power is held by a man that keeps his power through lies and making it out to seem he is more threatening than he really is. Both the wizard and the witch are green when they're "bad guys", just like how the US is bad when it's green (cash).

...or I'm reading too much into it.
312  Economy / Speculation / Re: 100 bitcoins. Will I be a millionaire by 2020? on: June 28, 2015, 05:51:32 AM
Definitely not by 2020. You will be a millionaire by 2030 if you manage to HOLD 100 bitcoin.
313  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: June 28, 2015, 04:27:14 AM
The clue is to have a system where your bio stuff (dna) is your secret key, and you select what info you want to relate to that. And who can read it. You should be the boss of your ID. It's very different from what you are used to!  Wink

I'm totally talking out of my ass, as I know very little about encryption, but can't you encrypt something and have the key be some biological feature unique to you? Like... the code to an image of your fingerprint, or your entire genome (just to be safe)?

Medium of exchange.

Bitcoin Fiat is only a medium of exchange when merchants accept it and hold onto it. Right now merchants are dumping bitcoin fiat for goods and services, so its not being used as a medium of exchange. This btw. also throws the transaction cost benefit argument right out of the window (spread).

Now will merchants ever accept bitcoin fiat and hold onto it?
No.

315  Economy / Economics / Re: MtGox VS Bank bailouts. on: June 28, 2015, 03:58:05 AM
Oh, yeah. Of course they're both different situations, I just think they're comparable, is all. To over-simplify, both situations were caused by organizations mishandling people's money, and it cost people (the taxpayers of the US / the people that had bitcoins in the exchange) lots of money. But I must recognize that I am highly ignorant on both situations, so thanks for correcting me  Grin
316  Economy / Economics / MtGox VS Bank bailouts. on: June 28, 2015, 03:07:13 AM
I was just thinking of the 2008 bank bailouts, then I thought of the money lost in MtGox. I'm curious what you think. The bank bailouts seem to have cost us (citizens of USA) 21 billion dollars. MtGox lost stole 240 million dollar's worth of bitcoin (valued at $1200 each). Is bitcoin really that much riskier than cash? I would say no.
317  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: June 28, 2015, 02:59:45 AM
We ether stay in low $250s, high $240s, or punch right through the downtrend log line... or kiss it, and settle back down to $240s. We'll see within 48 hours.

Oh come on now, the professor is only human after all. To insinuate that he does not partake of the guilty pleasure of trolling is simply untrue.

Case in point. http://www.ic.unicamp.br/~stolfi/temp/2014-08-03-bitcoin-alley-color-x640.png

I love that comic. I love it so much. Because it works so well in a different context. Can you guess the context of the following image? (hint: 2008)

319  Economy / Speculation / Re: Good time to buy? on: June 28, 2015, 01:00:14 AM
I got a flawless 4-step system I would like to share with OP and anyone reading this thread.

1. Buy bitcoin
2. Wait 600 days
3. ??Huh??
4. Profit!
320  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: June 28, 2015, 12:56:23 AM
Guys, let's say it how it is. Nobody is lining up to buy bitcoin... because with bitcoin there is no need to. It's so much more convenient than cash.
