101  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: WildRig Multi: new miner for AMD with multialgo support on: November 05, 2018, 10:25:09 PM
RX 580 reachig 4.7mh/s is possible only if you have free electricity. The thing is in this miner they made it so much core clock intensive that it's the only thing affecting hashrate. For example i was playing 15 hours yesterday in order to tune my 2 trigs all rx 580 - 8gb mixed memory. I found out intensity is best on 22 and worksize on 0, yea when ever i put 22x128 or 21x128 one of my cards would stop hashing after brief period of time. Also i would like to say that if you put them at 1366 or even better 1411 core and 2100 memory you will get promised 4.7mh/s but with a lot power consumption. I then settled with 4.3-4.5mh/s in following clocks.

My first rig uses only micron memory which i found to work best on 1366 and 2100 memory, each card using about 125-130w at wall. I get 22.3mh/s from 5x cards so average about 4.4mh/s and 715w at wall whole rig.

My second rig uses mixed samsung and hynix memory on almost every card, i found best values at 1280 core and 2150 memory, they hash me 26.2 mh/s for 6 cards.  Rig uses 850w at wall aproximate (spikes from 830 to 865).

Also i had eth bioses at all cards, i opened Polaris Bios editor and clicked one time patching and changed core clocks in bios for some cards in order to make it more stable and not mess a lot in MSI Afterburner. Then when i updated bioses via one click timing patch button, saved them and used ati win flash to flash newly bioses to gpu. Now all is stable and got it to work but had a lot of pain until i figured it out. Got random hangouts of gpus and wrong values made my  rigs very unstable. So 4.7 is on paper if you have very cheap electricity and your psu can take it.

What new miner is on for lyra2z and cnv8? Can someone tell me?
I found that bios mod is only good for eth and cn everything else I mine I run stock bios at least for rvn, phi2 and lyra2z ya it's a pain to have to flash but you'll run better rates a less watts I don't even overclock I run stock clocks also
102  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Claymore's CryptoNote AMD GPU Miner v11.3 on: November 04, 2018, 05:27:54 AM
Maybe try mine, it's specialized in older hardware (CPU and GPU). I'm mining right now at 400+ h/s with my HD7850 2G
https://github.com/jceminer/cn_gpu_miner
It's almost getting annoying to read there's no decent CN miner for older hardware while my topic is on the exact same channel as this one and online for something like 6 months...
Just gave your miner a shot and seeing great results with 270 and 280 cards Thanks glad I seen this post

Could someone please tell me if its possible for fpga to mine progpow and if so would they at all be profitable I'm only asking because I just read progpow was on the fpga list I'm not trying to start fud I just find fpga's way more centralized than asic
104  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Ravencoin [RVN] PoW GPU Mining | Asset Transfer Blockchain (Updated ANN) on: November 04, 2018, 02:09:06 AM
Yes, the project has protection from asics.
But not from FPGA's, which is basicaly same thing like ASICs, since big farms got FPGA cards and private miners.
Changing algo to something like ProgPOW would be only solution IMO.

Progpow, Like ethash, is also working on fpgas..

The only real solution are Algo changes on a regular basis
I thought progpow was coded to use both memory and core clocks on gpu's so most of the gpu was used to mine this way fpga and asic wouldn't be as profitable you are by far more educated in this area than I am so could you explain how much more efficient fpga would be, I for one think fpga's are more centralized than asic because of the cost, shortage, and the dev fee's for the bitstreams
105  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] TeamRedMiner - Optimized Win/Linux AMD GPU Miner for lyra2z and phi2 on: November 03, 2018, 12:50:59 AM
Hello dear developers! I've installed this miner and it works perfectly stable, provides good hashrate. But dev fee is bearish... Please reduce it to 1-1.5% for cn8 and 1.5-2% for other algos. You will see - a lot of people will begun to use your miner, it's very important for community

Hi!

Thank you for using the miner!

I really don't want to get into any prolonged argument around our choice of dev fee(s). I would like to say this though to try to paint a better picture: I don't think people understand the difference between our work and that of other miner devs working in OpenCL.

In the ongoing fpga group buy, the established consensus around the dev fee is 4%. No one complaining. Fpga bitstream work is even more tedious, but with the workflow we use it's very much a valid comparison. I can easily spend a whole day looking at a section of raw asm code trying to optimize away a single four-cycle instruction in an inner loop, many times not even knowing if it's worth it or not before I actually succeed doing so. We design and implement the kernels bottom up with as high mechanical sympathy for the hardware as possible, not in high-level code hoping the compiler will do that job well enough for us. A bigger algo can easily take month(s) before we deem it ready for release.

Not all algos will have a big upside with this approach. Many times the compilers do a fantastic job of producing good code. Those algos won't be implemented in this miner, there's no point. For the ones we do spend time on, we are expecting to see a considerable boost that clearly justifies the dev fee from the miner's bottom line perspective. Hence, you should still earn more with our miner after the dev fee, with higher hashrate, lower power draw, or both. If you don't, then I personally don't think you should use this miner.

With the higher dev fee, I also think you can expect and demand a higher level of support service. We're two devs and we're trying as hard as we can to be on the ball for all issues in our ANN threads. God knows how many PMs I've sent the last 2-3 days.

In the end, I respect everyone's free choice in this regard. If you feel that no, I have an issue with giving away 2.5-3% of my hashrate to closed source software devs, even though I might earn less in the end, no one can say you're wrong to do so, it's your choice. However, that respect has to be a two-way street.

Hence, arguing us to slash our petty income from this with -50% because it's "important to the community" isn't really a valid argument imho. If you think about it we're talking about +1.54% for you, -50% for us. In my opinion, the truly most important part for the community is to have the same quality of miners that the big private farms do, and you won't be getting that unless there is enough upside to go public. Even then, it's barely worth it, especially when taking the risk of hacked miners and ripped kernels into account. I can assure you, we're not getting rich from this. I would be way better off chasing down high-end IT consultant gigs instead. I choose to do it instead of more lucrative work because it's fun. The Claymore eth days are long gone.

What gets me is it's been proven that claymore has gotten rich just off the eth miner and as soon as someone goes around his dev fee which he has refused to drop down people start calling him a thief and a scumbag kinda funny isn't here your developing one of the best miners for other algos for AMD which hasn't seen as much love as nvidia lately and people are already starting to bitch about the fee well don't use it or code your own miner if you don't like it, I'm happy with the miner and updates and have no problem with the 3% cause there is either no phi2 amd support or the miner sucks
106  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: WildRig Multi: new miner for AMD with multialgo support on: November 02, 2018, 03:44:05 PM
I have a rig with mixed 560 and 570's can I put different settings in for --opencl-threads 2 --opencl-launch 21x128 or do I have to choose one setting for all the cards
You need to use different parameters. Take a look in what order your cards initializing, and then mix parameters like this(if RX560 is first GPU and RX570 is second one):
Code:
--opencl-threads 2 --opencl-launch 20x0,21x128
K thats what I was wondering I kinda of thought I could but wasn't sure Thank You

108  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] | SUQA | New X22i Algo | SWIFFTX | No ICO | No Pre-mine | %5 Apr Interest on: November 01, 2018, 01:53:52 PM
Hello everyone.

I would like to post my feelings and thoughts towards this new project that I have recently came across. I don't remember exactly how I came across the project, but what I do remember is when it was mentioned that they are using a new algorithm, x22i. That statement alone got me excited! I was wondering why haven't I heard of this project or algorithm before today? How old are both? Once I came across it I became wildly excited and researched frankly all I could. I for one am already on board this new project from reading the whitepaper and slowly studying the way the x22i algorithm works. Great game changer to use this algorithm imo.

I am a miner that has been in game for long enough to feel the ups and downs of accumulating crypto using this method. I do it because I enjoy the building and tweaking perspective. I enjoy manually building and taking care of my hardware. I enjoy supporting projects that I feel have promising ideas and futures in the new type of industry.

What does concern me though is how does the SUQA project plan to handle the competitiveness of an ASIC and FPGA miner compared to a GPU miner. GPU miners range from your 1 card miner to the industrial size miner. The thing they all have in common is they are using their hardware to support something they believe in. After many discussions with many other GPU miners the question that always comes around is, x22i algorithm is at the moment, a great gpu algorithm and is fighting back against the ASIC's and FPGA's. Which is what GPU miners love to see, but also in the back of their mind, they would also like to see precautions in case ASIC's and FPGA's are able to mine on the x22i algorithm.

My question to the SUQA development team is if x22i algorithm network becomes congested with ASIC and FPGA miners, what are your procedures to fight back against this technology? Are you working on protocols on how to handle this situation as we move forward in the project?
I constantly check the SUQA gpu-mining discord channel and I am always happy to see the feedback. Iif the community is strong here, so will be the project.

I feel like if you are always able to keep gpu miners in the loop of your protocol procedures to combat these problems, you will always have the support of us backing this awesome project.
Any information keeping gpu miners in the loop is always great feedback!

Thank you for taking the time to read this.
Primus Pilus

Hi I'm not from the SUQA team but from what I understand they plan on changing the algo's every few months to deter asic or fpga's on building miners

Really late 2019 by the time that comes the difficulty will be outrageous and asic miners will fork the chain this is just zooko blowing smoke up GPU miners asses hoping to regain the support they lost, here's another coin that's centralized and controlled by one man that's gotten rich of the back of GPU miners he told he no longer cares about well he already screwed up the relationship and there's no turning back now

I don't know I've been mining for about 5 years now and mining has died at least 3 times, see some of use are here not to make a quick buck but to push the chains because we believe in cryptocurrency

What about the sia I have locked up in escrow for renting drive space will that be 1 for 1,  which is got me confused I have it setup for 26 weeks non of the sia that was taken back in feburary has been given back or any contracts have really been paid either something is wrong or I'm a idiot and should cut my loses and shut down

113  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Claymore's CryptoNote AMD GPU Miner v11.3 on: October 23, 2018, 01:04:30 PM
After 2-3 days experimenting, I can say that there are enough alternatives to Claymore's miner. With xmrig, xmr-stack and especially SRB I can achieve stable 450-500 h/s for tahiti 280 cards, 715-750 h/s for hawaii 390, and 910-930 for polaris 570 and 580 cards (with the usual bios mod and overclock as for ethereum). I don't need Claymore' s eth miner anymore also. Xmr is more profitable than eth, and with the coming reduction of the eth reward the minig of eth will be near its end. Thanks to Claymore for all his job so far, but it is time to move on!  Wink

Perhaps for Windows but not for Linux! I won't throw xmr stak on my simplemining R os. As it can't stop the cards if they overheat!! There is no option in simplemining that can stop it either! (r os 280x cards)
I just wish you could set different clocks for the r9 cards on simplemining

what about mandatory update of the wallet? where is a new link to wallet?
https://github.com/Pink2Dev/Pink2/releases

Just learned about the mandatory update.

I installed and started the new version.

I did not delete anything in the roaming folder....

Is that correct?

BTW, after I reopened the wallet in its new version, I unlocked for staking
but even after 2 min, I still don't get the green arrow, and I still get the status "No staking"

Is there something wrong?

Hum, sad there does not seem to have support anymore.

I see several requests / questions of support... and no reply.

Should we consider the project as dead?

I am a bit tired of abandonned projects.

Could the dev teams of project have some commitments and resilience
to make there project a success... and not just a way for them
to make quick money from early investors and premine?
the devs don't seem to use this thread anymore, and you'll get no support here, unless some random person decides to waste their time on your problems.
use the official support channels like everybody else in their right mind does, and you're gonna be fine.

ok, so, in short you consider that if someone decided to take some time to help me he will waste his time... interesting.

With that mindset each person will be on her own stuck with her issue

A chance that in some growing community, the mindset is totally different and based on pier to pier support and empowerment.

And then, I am kind of stupid to be the only one to not use the "official support channel".

You copied something from the help support of the discord channel.... a ressource not even shared in the EP here ;-)

Anyway, I will not make you waste your time anylonger.

If the team is not to have a good social media management willing to catch people where they are (while other communities are doing well for years)
I am not sure this is worth my time either ;-)

All the best and thanks for the debug tutorial

i'm sorry you feel bad, but you know, your FUDding and your ranting wasn't helpful at all, and a rather distant call from the culture of "pier to pier support and empowerment" that you're calling for. help others to help yourself, capisce?

the project is not dead, it's not abandoned. there was no premine, there was no ICO, no early investors. PINK is much older than ETH, it predates ICOs by a long shot, you know.

this thread does seem abandoned tho, the OP is obsolete, and i'm in full agreement that they should put some community managers here. but they're not the only project skipping on this cesspool of a forum, so that's what you have.

just go to their homepage and use the official support channels if you need help.
Yes it's a little disappointing that most projects are using discord or telegram and dont bother updating the BCT thread I for one hate having to go to other channels for updates because most of the talk has very little to do with the actual project plus I dont need my phone popping up notifications every second it's not hard for a community manager to pop on BCT once a week and update. But I also understand the problem with the scammers and the this project a scam bullshit there isn't one thread on this forum where someone isn't bashing a project its ridiculous and out of control
116  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: lolMiner Equihash Miner, Update: Oct 19th: lolMiner 0.6 alpha release on: October 22, 2018, 01:21:20 AM
Hi,

I'm having trouble with lolMiner and HiveOS.

Version 0.34 is in the HiveOS, this is my miner setup:

And when it starts, this is the log:

Then it just loops with the same message: Received job has wrong number of parameters!

What seems to be the problem here ?
I've tried several pools, it's not that...
If you take a look at the image you posted 001 you'll see that the version of lolminer is 0.34 for equihash 96/5 which is minexcoin you can find and use lolminer 0.5 under custom miners instructions from first page https://forum.hiveos.farm/t/custom-miner-lolminer/8135

Hi,
What I should do to stake my LOKIs?
I found that LOKI is stakeable now, right?
I guess that staking is for all, not for only service nodes.
Please help me.

Quote
Staking with LOKI coins, really?
How to config my wallet to stake my LOKI coins?
Or it will automatically stake after syncing with LOKI network?

I'm pretty sure that whenever you read a reference to "staking" on the Loki network, this refers to the service node stake, not staking coins in a regular wallet like you would with a "proof of stake" coin.

Loki uses a combination proof of work plus service nodes nodes (like masternodes used by Dash, PIVX, etc).

That is why the mining reward dropped dramatically a couple of weeks ago - because a large chunk of it is now going to people lucky (and rich) enough to have 12000-45000 Loki to stake in a service node.
Ya I don't see how having to put up $6000-$20000 to be able to run a node is decentralized than to chop down the miners rewards and give it to nodes when miners aren't making shit because of electric and the market I don't see to many miners staying to secure the chain when they are getting shafted I don't mine any maternode coin because of this reason
118  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: StakXMR Cryptonight v8 performance on: October 19, 2018, 10:47:10 AM
I have the R9 nano, dropped from 710H/s to 540 H/s using the same clock. The V7 uses Claymore and V8 uses XMR Stak.
I could never get my older r9 cards to perform on other miner like they would on claymore he's working on the v8 so hopefully will be out soon
119  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Sia - Decentralized Storage on: October 18, 2018, 05:11:03 PM
So sia is forking because their asic is unprofitable to run and because all the miners left the forum well people didn't leave because of bitmain and other asic they left because it was a big f u to GPU miners, but now the only people who will make money is the miners who own a obelisk that now is no longer for sale so explain again how this is decentralized
120  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Claymore's CryptoNote AMD GPU Miner v11.3 on: October 15, 2018, 03:09:26 PM
Ok I can test pow8 now. But note that I does not guarantee that I will release new version or that I will do it before upcoming fork, this is free miner now and I'm not going to add any fees again, so check other miners, there are many of them.

Yes take your time. I'll probably power-off my old AMD gpus (7970/280x/290) and wait until then.

I tried the other softwares and couldn't get them to work property. All my GPUs are undervolted, memory straps modified and when running a new miner it almost always causes stability issues. And since we are only talking about a few cents a day of profits, not worth the headache, unless there is another Crypto boom in the near future.

I think its finally the end for the Tahiti based GPUs.
I hear you on the 280/290 I can never get the same hashrates I get with claymore I wish he would put the fee back on and add the other forks
