voting started from beginning?
It means that if that person who is blocking and don't want to update wallet then we never see asset activation?

There is one address out there that has been mining to either an old wallet, or is voting No to the asset layer activation. They have enough hashrate to affect the outcome of the vote.

Is Raven still resistant to ASICs and FPGA?
As far as it equals the price growth - then it's definetly not asics.

Calling all miners...voting is going to be super close to 90% this round...if you have extra hash to throw at Ravenminer, Suprnova, or Beepool, please send that hash to those bigger pools at least until the vote passes.  There's some great momentum, but have to push this across the finish line and consolidating hash to larger pools give us the best shot.

Check https://minermore.com/tools/rvn_vote/ for the latest status of the vote, and if you don't have hash make sure to send bad mojo to the rogue RSa5 address. Wink

Yes, the project has protection from asics. And if I understood everything correctly from white paper, then if necessary, the team can bring changes or do something like a fork to continue to remain protected from the asics and fpga.

Yes, the project has protection from asics.
But not from FPGA's, which is basicaly same thing like ASICs, since big farms got FPGA cards and private miners.
Changing algo to something like ProgPOW would be only solution IMO.

Progpow, Like ethash, is also working on fpgas..

The only real solution are Algo changes on a regular basis

ProgPOW could work on ASIC too, but how efficient would be? Not much more than GPUs. Would it be worth making ASIC for ProgPOW?

It looks like that remaining large pool didn't update wallet to latest version which was requested to do so. I just synced my wallet and asset activation status is at 64.09 still far from targeted percentage. I didn't see such process before that's why think will this kind of voting not make issues on important upgrades or introductions of features ? I may not understand how it works.

I read a rumor somewhere (reddit I think) where a user was speculating that the upgrade was being blocked to try and make the activation date November 5th.  It appears the next round activation would be on November 6th, but I haven't done the math yet to see if activation is even possible to be locked in (received the total number of "Yes" votes needed), in any time zone on November 5th.

Looks like activation is going to pass. There was a community effort to put orders in on NH to tank the lone entity holding up the asset layer activation.

I read a rumor somewhere (reddit I think) where a user was speculating that the upgrade was being blocked to try and make the activation date November 5th

I hadn't heard this side of it. There was someone on Discord speculating this would be when assets would go live. Looks like they will actually go live then because they activate 2016 blocks after the yes vote passes.

I would have to say the rumor is just that because the "No" vote would have probably won out again if the organizing of NH buys hadn't taken place. This round still had something like 178 No votes so they were actively against activation and it would have pushed us well past the 5th of November, if I remember remember correctly.

I calculated wrong before.
1 block is 0,05% and 255 block to go.  So 12,75% to get and we finish ~91%. Asset will be activated, because there have been 'no' block for looong time. Maybe who was blocking before don't do it anymore.

I thought progpow was coded to use both memory and core clocks on gpu's so most of the gpu was used to mine this way fpga and asic wouldn't be as profitable you are by far more educated in this area than I am so could you explain how much more efficient fpga would be, I for one think fpga's are more centralized than asic because of the cost, shortage, and the dev fee's for the bitstreams

It is very perfect what Raven did because this coin was very fast to advance into the big exchanges like Bittrex and Binance.
I still remember Raven at CoinExchange and at that time it wasn't on Bittrex.
