More selling on Havelock... *sigh* why do I feel like someone knows something I don't... based on what is publicly known, it would seem like a terrible time to sell right now.

I doubt it's inside knowledge. People are afraid due to the increased consumption news rumours, while friedcat remains silent. There may be a problem, or everything is totally fine.

The actual power consumption was never going to be as low as the simulated results, it never is. It's still one hell of an efficient chip though, especially considering that it's 40nm and it's beating its 28nm competition. The chip's working fine.
1002  Economy / Securities / Re: ROCKMINER - miners using GEN3 ASICMINER chips on: April 13, 2014, 05:33:35 PM
That list contains hardware that doesn't even exist.

It's from The Genesis Block and I'm aware that all other numbers are purely hypothetical. The only solid numbers from that chart are the ROCKMiner blade, based off of initial tests.

The Virtual Mining hardware listed are based on the 28nm eASIC design which got cancelled ages ago.

Are you guys not worried about side-chains killing off the alt-chains?

Working on getting the verification site up this week.

Good job with the miners Ken but regarding the shares, you're just taking the piss now. You've been saying the exact same thing every week for the past few months. If you're not going to do it, then stop saying you are. You're just building up shareholders hopes to crush them.

Great timing anyway, with Bitcoin at its low in this hypecycle. Smiley

I have a hard time understanding why a low BTC price is a good thing for you guys right now.  Please explain?

Some of us don't have more money than sense, therefore we can now buy more bitcoins and more AM shares.

That was fast, looks like someone already put it up.

And it was removed immediately because the title started with VMC.

So, in your opinion, would DTS's solution to underclock the miner and include a provision in the TOS that modifying the clock speed would void the warranty work?

If I was Ken, I'd just throw a cooler on it and treat it like a graphics card as far as warranty - modifications void it. You can't really say that though if you need to mod the product to get it to work in the first place.
1009  Economy / Securities / Re: [ActiveMining] Official Shareholder Discussion Thread [Moderated] on: March 31, 2014, 06:52:22 PM
Okay then, let's just pretend that EU law doesn't override UK law and let's just pretend that taking your issue to the EU courts would not see them override the UK's decision, how would this relate to a US company flaunting EU laws?

I don't even know why you're arguing about voiding warranties and such because these miners have "no warranty". It just sounds to me like you are advocating for Ken to break EU law and risk ActM getting massive fines that would destroy ActM.

This is a serious problem that Ken needs to deal with before he sells any miners.

minerpart, take a look at this page.

So how does the EU rule change things?

The EU directive in question is 1999/44/EC. The full wording is contained here (open the word documtent and scroll to page 7) but the important bit is this: 'A two-year guarantee applies for the sale of all consumer goods everywhere in the EU. In some countries, this may be more, and some manufacturers also choose to offer a longer warranty period.'

As with UK law, a seller is not bound by the guarantee 'if the (fault) has its origin in materials supplied by the consumer'. But the EU rule does not require the buyer to show the fault is inherent in the product and not down to their actions.

The EU rule also says buyers need to report a problem within two months of discovering it if they want to be covered under the rule.
1011  Economy / Securities / Re: [ActiveMining] Official Shareholder Discussion Thread [Moderated] on: March 31, 2014, 04:49:46 PM
I agree with you DTS. What Ken can't do though is just claim "no warranty" and expect that to fly in the EU.
1012  Economy / Securities / Re: [ActiveMining] Official Shareholder Discussion Thread [Moderated] on: March 31, 2014, 04:32:37 PM
In the EU, a 2 year warranty is standard regardless of what the manufacturer or reseller says.

Not true. The EU Directive is in theory mandatory but in reality each country in Europe sets it's own laws on warranty or in essence has its own implementation or interpretation of the EU Directive. So for example in the UK you are protected for around 6 months (depending on the item, the wording of the Act is 'reasonable amount of time') from defect and can ask for a replacement but after 6months have passed the onus is on you to prove there was a manufacturing fault with the item present when you bought it. To prove that you would need to pay for an engineering report. So in the UK the statutory warranty is considered 6months minimum but most manufactures give a voluntary 12month  defect warranty or electrical goods such as TV's or PC's for example.

If we are worried about people frying their chips by not operating the equipment properly that would be something that voids any warranty statutory or not. The equipment must be used as intended and if it is seen that thermal paste was not applied correctly then the customer is not due a replacement as they have damaged it themselves.

Apple thought that too, then got bitch slapped.

Quote
In March, Apple was defeated in Italian courts for violating a European law that states that companies should offer a free two-year warranty for faulty products. Apple was fined €900,000 for only offering a one year warranty and selling a two-three year warranty to customers. Consumer groups in Germany, The Netherlands and Spain, also asked regulators to get Apple to change its warranty offering.
...
Under EU law Apple now offers to repair or replace a product within two years if "Defects present when customer takes delivery".
1013  Economy / Securities / Re: [ActiveMining] Official Shareholder Discussion Thread [Moderated] on: March 31, 2014, 04:07:13 PM
it does NOT ship with cooling solution (it suggests the H80i), but has absolutely no warranty because the units are 'tested' - how can you not offer a basic warranty for a product that has an exposed chip and ask that the customer apply the heatsink/WC themselves? its begging for the chip to be scratched or the heatsink mounted poorly

In the EU, a 2 year warranty is standard regardless of what the manufacturer or reseller says.
1014  Economy / Securities / Re: ASICMINER: Entering the Future of ASIC Mining by Inventing It on: March 31, 2014, 12:36:20 PM
I heard it was because AM and Avalon need to convert bitcoins to fiat in order to pay for chip batches.

I've now removed the negative feedback. See how much better things are when you're honest with us?

This thread was created to eliminate the trolls and free up Ken to work on the business.  I'd say we have been 100% successful in that regard.  crumbs and cohorts are decimating other threads as we speak.

Don't get me wrong, I would love to delete all posts that weren't good for the company image, but I don't.

That is because I cannot abide injustice.  I'm hardwired that way.  That's the reason I defend Ken and challenge the trolls.  But it's also the reason I am totally against censorship.

I am a shareholder. I bought a couple of UKYO's shares. You deleted my posts and banned me for quoting Ken and pointing out that the chips are obviously HashFast chips. How the hell are you against censorship, when you are actively silencing shareholders you disagree with?

As I said previously, once is an anomaly, twice is a coincidence, thrice is a pattern.
If by next week it doesn't get normalized, or at least an official announcement that explains these two flukes, I will seriously consider dumping all my shares.

Let's be honest here, no divs was always going to happen. I'm just surprised it's took this long for it to occur and I voiced my opinion on the matter rather loudly in these forums. FriedCat has done an amazing job at keeping divs so high for so long, proving me completly wrong.

With network hash rate rising, AM hash rate declining, and gen 1 miner sales dwindling to nothing once sold out, divs can only go down. I truly expected AM to be at the point they are now in regards to divs back in January.

Someone who wanted to know whether you are part of the mod team. Enjoy your red.

So from me  saying no I didn't delete the post you conclude I have the ability to?  Quite the jump in logic you dumb-ass. I hope you are not the brains behind this Troll-team.

Yes, along with your history of blind devotion to ActM, delusions, lies, pump attempts and calls for censorship. If you are not a mod of that thread you can just say so.

SUBJECT: WARNING!

"VolcanicEruptor,

Please stop posting the in Active Mining thread.

ActM Thread""

Cheesy I have been warned!  I better stop posting the in the in the in active mining thread!

I got the same warning for posting a quote from Ken saying he was still working on his chips. Then banned for posting a quote were he say he went to California and came back and announced these "miners".

They all got negative trust rating for deliberately trying to decieve shareholders and customers. Don't forget to leave some negative feedback for all these scummy fuckers:

you have always been a prick so it would be nothing new.

Minerpart, you should stick to "moderating" the "official" forum. Was it you who deleted his post?

no it wasn't  and who are you to tell me what to do fuckface?
