Your poll is biased, you know that?
how? It has 9 entries now.

Prior polls did not explain that Bit is already taken.
would you like a five pound of beef or a five pound bank note i found a bit of someones tooth in sandwich when i bitdown on it. the last sentance shows bit is in use.. now look at the first sentance.. and tell me the british government care about double meanings I had never seen a pound note in my life, don't care about the british gov (we declared independence in 1776) and I don't know what the sentance is either. Care to elaborate?

Android, Motorola, social media and virtual reality were also included on the CTTSO’s list of topics worth researching regarding terrorism. Fast, sell Android, buy iPhones, LOL

it seems the consensus is just going with bit According to my poll, more than 60% of people do not want "bit". They did not pick as their first or even second choice. So no, only a very vocal minority wants "bit". The rest of us are using polls to try to figure out what the consensus will be. Exactly, how could you push so hard for ALREADY used information tech word? I think that we need to find a good consensus, and it should take some time. The fact that Jeff garzik or Bitpay favors bit (at the moment only!) should matter little or none at all for a wide consensus.

You forgot to include most of the most popular choices: bitcoin, zib, and centoshi. Your choices are all very similar.

it seems the consensus is just going with bit or other terms that show a bottom up use. yet there are a few top down fanboys that do not like this and aimlessly make new topic and new polls in an attempt to keep trying to get different results.
insanity is when you keep trying to repeat the same thing over and over, trying to get a different result.
so why not try using the existant topics and get proper results instead of all these repeated posts with polls asking the same question.
Prior polls did not explain that Bit is already taken. Surprise-not everybody are aware of this because we mostly use Mb, Gb or TB moniker, but it is Gigabit as in "8-port Giga bit switch" or "2 Tera bit hard drive' If you post polls without proper description, you are basically hijacking the word. Good going. fan boys of what?

just idea's gathered by other thread topics
ubit (topdown measurement from bitcoin) hectosat (bottomup measurement from satoshi)
bit - popular gav (honouring gavin A for 3 years of programming bitcoin just like sat honours the inventor) alp (honouring alpaca socks, the first legit business to accept bitcoin)
adding ubit to the poll, thanks.

I need to pay for my "uni" at the dry cleaners with "uni"?
don't wear uni if i got your meaning right. You can pay for your uni education eventually with a few thou uni, though ![Wink](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/wink.gif) I realise that some cases would not fit, but you cannot hijack a word which has widely use meaning already (such as bit). Er, you can, but only on the message boards-witness the use of "loose" instead of 'lose".

A unit of 10-6 BTC is a great idea, but bit is already WIDELY used to measure information.
I propose to call 0.000001 BTC (1/1000000 BTC=10-6 BTC=µBTC) a uni, which is short of Unit, pronounced (you-ni). Advantages-not used; Uni is similar to unit and sounds vaguely similar, but different, to/from both yen (Japanese) and yuan (Chinese). Edit: removed comments.

Im getting my first s1 this week.
Do you guys recommend OC S1 to 400 MHz / 205 GH/s??
Thats 360w without overclocking vs 500 - 525 w overclocked.
180 GH/s vs 205 GH/s.
Its worth it OC then?
thanks
Each miner is a slightly different beast. Some are unstable when overclocked, but most OK. 400mhz is a bit rough. Remember that OCing voids warranty. After seeing that your ant S1 behaves well at 350mhz, then try 375 first before moving to 393.75. From my first batch of three S1, none were stable at 393.75 for more than 24hr, but at 375, they were hashing OK.

Sounds interesting for a variety of reasons, but how this will "square' with the current meaning of bits, which is a multiple of bit=basic unit of information. there are endless possibilities of getting confused. "A hard drive holding 2Tbits will cost you half a billion bits" "Heat"-cool movie from the 90ies with Al Pacino, De Niro and Val Kimer. Much action. "The Heat"-stupid comedy from 2013 about female police officers.
Bits are already taken.

I will receive my s1 next week, what altcoins you mine with s1? . And i want to buy a corsair cx750m is a good psu? Thanks
You will spend to much money for PSU, just go for dell poweredge 2950 750w and it will cost you like $25 or 15gbp Mmm but i read that corsair can run up to 2 s1s, its not a better option than that Dell? Just comparing prizes maybe yeah its cheaper but its a good psu? And can run 2 s1s? And that dell psu comes with conectores for s1 or i need to buy cables? Not really re running two S1 on one CX750, especially if you want to overclock to 393.75mhz (~420-425W) or even 375mhz (~400W). I run three overclocked S1 on two Corsair CX750M. For an individual S1, Corsair CX500 or CX500M would do.

got my refund today, requested refund on 12-April near end of November cost me 12.1 BTC for the Neptune and got 22.5 BTC back edit. did little snooping on block explorer and come across this address 1Nbq2XZaRsKknf5fcT2wTXvBS31PaUW SeXhttps://blockchain.info/address/1Nbq2XZaRsKknf5fcT2wTXvBS31PaUWSeXI can remember this address at eligius a while back and people were saying it belonged to bitmain, I think I don't think that they have a fair process even in refunds. I requested refund on April 8 and asked for BTC on April 29 and was promised a refund by Friday. Nothing so far. Who is with me in the same or worse situation (requested earlier)?

I don't hear any complaints from the regulars today. Please post if you got the refund. I still did not get it despite a specific promise made by one of their representative to refund by the end of this week. I never abused any of these people on the phone, never threw any insults at them either on a message board or email. Are these the days when a semblance of civilized behavior is considered a weakness? I have a lot to learn here ![Angry](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/angry.gif)

I like to think of the sharp and persisted drops as a feature of the downtrend and not neccessarily a feature of the news. Notice that if a bad news occurs at a tipping point right on a the downtrend line, it will cause a sharp and persisted drop. But if the news occurs somewhere else where a drop is not supposed to occur yet, it will have a much lesser effect or no effect, or there will be an immediate rebound. The market just waits for excuses to do things.
As for news, the next wave of Chinese news will be when banks identify and close the specific accounts used by exchanges and not just posting a notice. After that, there will be news about how police get involved. Finally, there will be the exchanges themselves closing.
Then there is news about topics completely besides china, such as goxcoins, hackercoins, and the government's 600,000 coins.
Whatever, bud. Here is what is really happening: wealthy are steadily buying bitcoin-see secondmarket thread. Once it is almost all produced (93.75% in 10 years) and bought, it can only be redistributed. PBOC would be better thinking about ghost cities and overheated real estate in the mean time.

One of the recent batch (ordered at the first recent sales day) S1 works for 5 min, then disconnects, then in a few seconds beeps, then reconnects. This cycle repeats all day long. What could be the cause? i tried to reboot multiple times, switched off power supply, then back on-no cure. I have a feeling that I have a rare faulty unit. Thanks for any suggestion.
70% likely its your power supply. after 3min or so the antminer is at full speed and after a minute or two of this your PSU is finally overloaded and switches off. a lot of power supplies will attempt to restart themselves when this happens My problem is apparently solved (fingers crossed). It was, actually, quite interesting. A combination of two factors: 1. this particular miner has a bit slower fan speed at higher temperatures. In my previous machines, they go to 2700-2800 rpm when temperatures rise to ~49-50, but the problematic unit stays at ~2100-2300 rpm. 2. The construction of the unit changed just a bit. On my March units, PWM fan cords hang by the side, but now they decided to tuck them inside of a plastic rail in front of the fan (I don't know how to post non website pictures here), which restricts the airflow toward the top left of the unit somewhat (when facing the fan from the exhaust direction). As a result of both factors, on this particular unit, the airflow toward the inside (top part, where circuits are) of the unit was significantly restricted with chips located there being very hot on touch. I used a medium size Vornado fan, directing additional air flow toward the "hot" zone. No more disconnects overnight. Happy hashing!

Just used my coupons for another order.
Anyone in Texas have coupons that they are not planning on using to order S1's?
Where in TX are you? I might have 4 extra coupons.
