1021  Economy / Economics / Re: Americans are once again quitting their jobs at a growing rate on: January 11, 2023, 07:41:22 PM
Do they have better alternative? wonder what make them quit their job
Amidst a global recession, if some people are quitting their jobs, the reason must be far more serious than we can fathom. Not able to pay the bills with the salary, can't be the sole reason for quitting jobs. If that is the case, people will find a better paying job before leaving.

But it seems that the career interests of the Americans are shifting. Instead of taking up jobs in corporates, they are becoming more interested into farming, entrepreneurship etc. Due to the cost of living in the big cities, the interest is shifting towards the countryside. Going back to the roots has its own perks.
I believe that those people are working for a long time on a similar job so they also feel bored and they are now deciding to try something different. That's not a bad idea IMO only to bring back their excitement in life. Jobs outside like farming seems to be fun and relaxing in fact. I mean we can inhale the fresh air outside. We are exposed to sun and we can see the nature around us.

If our concern is only the cost of living then I think quitting our current job is not a solution but we can still do some alternatives like budgeting. Either in the food that we eat or consuming electricity, water, etc. Adding another small job on the side should also help us to earn an extra income.

Lol! When the bills knock at your door, excitement takes the backseat. That's a very very silly reason for leaving your job without having another stable source of income. So I can clearly say that it's not the case here! Obviously, there will be some exceptions. But at large, bringing back excitement is not the case, to be honest!

A person will only become interested in a job when it will pay the bills and also have some money to save for the future. If the income level is not supporting these basic necessities, it makes no sense to be in a job. The cost of living really needs to go through a reality check in big cities. If it keeps on rising, all of American jobs will surely go to Asian countries where the cost of labour is 1/4th of USA.

1022  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Celsius won $4.2B worth of customers funds on: January 11, 2023, 07:34:53 PM
Once the bankruptcy status has been granted to celsius, no customer will get their money back. They will have to liquidate all their assets and their creditors (read financial institutions) will get the proceeds. Once the creditors are paid back, the customers will get a refund if anything remains in their account after all these payments. Bankruptcy essentially means that the retail creditors will lose their money.

So all the best!
1023  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: Argentina to Pressure Citizens on Declaring Their Crypto on: January 11, 2023, 05:46:23 PM
https://www.bitdegree.org/crypto/news/argentina-to-pressure-citizens-on-declaring-their-crypto
"As per the terms of the bill, citizens will be encouraged to declare their assets, financial assets like stocks and crypto assets. Declarations will be entirely voluntary. However, the bill also suggests that in case of a failure to declare assets and tokens may result in an investigation by the Federal Administration of Public Revenues (AFIP), the nation’s tax body.

So the government is contradicting its own statement. Saying the declaration will be voluntary and the same time making provisions for investigation if someone is not declaring the crypto assets. That's hilarious!

The only silver lining here is the tax rate. 1.5% to 2.5% is much much lower than the global standard. Imagine, India has a tax rate of 30% on crypto assets.
1024  Economy / Economics / Re: My investments ahead of the 2024 halving 100% Bitcoin on: January 11, 2023, 03:38:41 AM
So at this point I am all into BTC and nothing more.

Not a good decision! Bitcoin is surely the best bet ahead of halving but there are couple of altcoins which you must add to your portfolio. For example - ETH! The way bitcoin is the pioneer of the crypto market, ETH is the pioneer of the smart contract facility. If you see past trend, ETH usually follows the price trajectory of bitcoin. So putting all your eggs into one basket, is not a good idea and advising people to do so is even worse. Diversification is the best decision you can take!
1025  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: BlackRock CEO Says ‘Next Generation for Markets’ Is Tokenization on: January 10, 2023, 05:27:21 PM
Tokenization will be great move for the market. It will allow retail investors to invest in assets that are usually beyond their buying capacity. But it will also open up a whole new area of financial scam. So a tight regulation is needed in order to win customer confidence here.

A simple example of an already existing tokenization success is the mutual funds in India. If the similar facilities can be extended to the other markets, that will bring the investors in, especially beneficial for commercial real estate.

1027  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: US regulators warn banks over cryptocurrency risks on: January 10, 2023, 03:56:34 AM

US regulators have issued their first ever joint warning to banks over the risks associated with the cryptocurrency market, the main problem here it seems the lack of control.

Isn't that obvious? Cryptocurrency market thrives because nothing controls it. It is a true reflection of human dynamics at a global scale. No other markets show such kind of dynamics. That's what the problem is. Globally the central banks and other regulatory agencies control their own respective markets in the name of consumer protection. Crypto is only market where such nonsense controls are non-existent.

Expect more of such alerts and warnings from many other regulatory bodies all around the world. That's bound to happen!
1028  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Mark Cuban wants to buy more Bitcoins on: January 09, 2023, 05:21:29 PM
Rich people can always buy bitcoins and other risky assets. That does not mean anything to small investors like us. Mark is seeing potential profit in bitcoin and planning to buy some. That's what drives us all - potential profit.

Also it is a very well known fact that bitcoin has more potential than gold because gold is meant for capital protection. Gold is usually not used for investments with high return expectation. While bitcoin is used for just that. So let's not compare them and let's not get influenced by rich investors like Mark.
1029  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Unknown miner , earned 2 billion on: January 09, 2023, 03:05:05 PM
Hello,
today I was exploring blockchain explorer i came across this unknown miner, who earned or received over 2billion in reward
I am wondering who can be this miner ,
It's hard to mine a block without big farm ,
https://www.blockchain.com/explorer/blocks/btc?page=1

or i have a lack of knowledge that i am sharing this ,

That's the beauty of bitcoin to be honest! Doesn't matter how much money someone holds, there's no way to know it unless the owner decides to publicize it. The anonymity is one of the best features of bitcoin.

But I think it is a pool address and a really large pool with lots of industrial miners. It is almost impossible for a single human being controlling such a huge amount of bitcoins.
1030  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: One of the Largest Bitcoin miners are shutting down Celcius Mining Machines on: January 06, 2023, 05:11:43 PM
There is a news that one of the largest Bitcoin mining firm is shutting down Bitcoin mining machines that are generating almost 2 million dollars. That is because Celcius is shutting down and that's not good. Because if they continue mining than they can go in loss.
I do not know that this this there big move or not but I will say that they are just doing great.
Here is link of an article.
Source: https://markets.businessinsider.com/news/currencies/core-scientific-shut-down-thousands-bankrupt-celsius-bitcoin-mining-rigs-2023-1

It's a managed mining services for a bankrupt company that are getting shut down. Celcius has already filed for bankruptcy so they are unable to pay the maintenance fees for the miners which were being managed by Core Scientific. So the decision is fair!

I don't think there will be any issue in the crypto ecosystem due to this decision of Core Scientific. If they find any other company willing to buy their managed mining services, they might turn them on again!
1031  Economy / Economics / Re: If your passive income beats inflation rate, deposit might be a better choice. on: January 06, 2023, 02:20:34 PM

My previous post "Use your money wisely. Invest or deposit ?" is a very hot topic which receives over 3000 views and more than 240 replies. I read all of your replies and summarize to one common advice: invest in Bitcoin rather than deposit in banks.

It's a bitcoin related forum so what other advice you were expecting? Obviously people will tell you to invest in bitcoin.

I honestly do not think in a same way! Bitcoin is a super volatile asset class. If you are in your 20s and have some disposable fund in your hand, go ahead and take the risk. But with age, your risk appetite will decrease. Start balancing your investment among many other asset classes to make the most out of it. Bitcoin can make you a millionaire if you invest in right time but it can make you go bankrupt as well, if your timing is not correct. So proceed with caution.

From the security perspective, bank deposits are way more safer than bitcoin!
1032  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What's the future of digital currencies? on: January 06, 2023, 12:41:17 PM
I've been wondering recently what's ahead for us in terms of the evolution of digital currencies.

There has been a lot of amazing development with blockchain and cryptocurrencies in general in the past decade. But I wonder if there's anyone working on other ideas or technologies that could also be promising. I'm not talking about altcoins. I mean real breakthrough ideas, similar to what happened when Bitcoin was originally introduced. It would be really exciting to witness the birth of something completely new in the next years/decades. I'm sure we have other brilliant "Satoshis" out there.

I'd love to learn more about cool projects and concepts that could be the evolution of blockchain (again, not altcoins please  Wink)

Those days are gone! Now the crypto market is full of scammers and meme coins which shouldn't have existed at the first place. But unfortunately with the rise and flexibility of DEXs, it has become extremely easy for anyone to build a meme coin and get it listed in a DEX.

Innovation has definitely not stopped but with the huge amount of competition, it has become very difficult for the innovators to pitch their idea in crypto market.

Unfortunately I haven't heard of any path breaking innovation in the crypto market in recent times.
1033  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Hackers Demand Bitcoin as Ransom in Romania on: January 05, 2023, 06:51:12 PM
Please don't disclose you keys to anyone.

How it is even related? Hackers were able to get into the server of the hospital, is due to their poor cyber security. Your bitcoin keys have nothing to do with this entire incident!

It's a shame that bitcoin is getting associated with almost all hacking incidents happening in recent times. These kinds of incidents actually give more reasons to the enforcement agencies to push for a ban.

But looking at the ransom amount, I am quite sure that the hackers are new and most probably collage students. professional hackers will not ask for such a small ransom!

1034  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Louisiana Begins Requiring Government ID to Access Online Porn on: January 05, 2023, 04:58:01 AM
In the US, largest share of subscription fees for online porn platforms comes from deep-red states such as Utah and Nebraska. The reason is that these guys are a bunch of hypocrites. In India, some of the stupid lawmakers had this fabulous idea of banning online porn. The same people who were behind the idea were caught watching online porn using their mobile phone inside the parliament. Even now, porn is banned in India, but it is available everywhere. Instead of watching in porn sites such as YouPorn and Spankbang, Indians have resorted to watching the videos using various telegram channels.

Indian lawmakers are stupid! They have banned porn websites but don't have the technical intelligence to understand that these websites can be easily accessible via a free VPN. So no impact on people really!

Lawmakers need to understand sex is a biological process. It comes naturally! If it wasn't natural, India wouldn't have 1.4 billion population. Seems like some US lawmakers are showing similar type of intelligence as of Indian lawmakers.
1035  Economy / Economics / Re: [Article] Good job, internet: You bullied NFTs out of mainstream games on: January 05, 2023, 03:58:44 AM
I am surprised to see the statement when it says - bullied out! Lol! We are not that powerful to get something bullied out! It's decided by the market dynamics! If something is useless, the market will reject it eventually! That's exactly what happened to NFT!

Secondly, tell me one exciting game built around NFT! All games I have played related to NFT are useless and not exciting at all! So they failed! Nothing astonishing about it. NFT was destined to fail!
1036  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Introducing PiCoin - early mining! on: January 04, 2023, 06:32:31 PM
It's an outright scam! Avoid at all costs!

Picoin launched around 2017 and is still not listed in any exchanges even though the owners have been claiming to do it for a long time. It also requires full KYC before you are allowed to withdraw the coin. It's free to mine through a mobile app!

Tell me one simple thing - if a coin is so easy to mine through a mobile phone which requires no additional production cost, why on earth anyone will buy it from exchanges?

If possible delete it from your mobile phone because you don't know what kind of data is gathering from your phone!
1037  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin Banking is more reliable and faster on: January 04, 2023, 06:04:59 PM
I can boldly say that Bitcoin Banking is more reliable and fast because Bitcoin transactions is been done through wallet, the only problem that may occur is if the wallet is not correct another challenge is if the transaction is been encountered with down network but this is in rare cases.

Lol! We all love bitcoin here! But that does not mean we will criticize the banking system and find flaws in it or even think about replacing the banking system. That should not be the case! Bitcoin can not challenge the retail banking segment in terms of speed and convenience. It can only challenge it in terms of anonymity. If you want to talk about speed and fees, bitcoin can only challenge international settlements. The entire banking system can't be replaced!

Bitcoin is convenient for some and banking is convenient for some! They must not be compared because they are structurally different. If you send money to an incorrect account by mistake - you may get it back in the centralized banking system, but in bitcoin, there's no way! Every system has its pros and cons, let's respect that and choose what's convenient for you!
1038  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Etsy - but with Bitcoin on: January 04, 2023, 04:09:13 AM
Are there any Bitcoin marketplaces that have been developed with similar DNA and design to that of the fiat, online marketplace Etsy? If you are not familiar with Etsy, you can purchase niche and custom items that are generally sold by small businesses or individuals. It's a great avenue to purchase handmade or homemade products, while opting to not spend your money at a big box store. I imagine it doesn't take much to become a vendor/seller on the site, and the buying process is smooth as can be.

Though, summing up all of the fees that Etsy charges, they are essentially taking up to 9.5% per transaction, plus $0.45 USD. That is quite a bit. I'm sure that a much more vendor-friendly version of this could be created with minimal transaction fees - at least in comparison.

I don't know about any such marketplaces like Etsy where bitcoin is accepted! Etsy makes it easier for the sellers to sell their products and charge a convenience fee! They also handle the production so all good with Etsy!

You can check this platform where you can buy gift cards. It's not a full fledged product platform though!

Hope this helps!
1039  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: The NFT hype makes Opensea rich on: January 03, 2023, 05:35:37 PM
It can only be said that NFT is catching the trend of the era of cryptocurrency. “Trading is done on unregulated platforms like OpenSea and Nifty Gateway, which are not licensed by any government agency.” Any influencer publicity can lead to price increases. Everyone knows about risks, but not everyone can avoid them.

NFT is a bluff! A complete scam and indeed a marketing buzzword. Those who have invested during early stage, made millions just like the ICO boom. But right now, it's completely useless! Opensea just enjoyed the perks of being a pioneer in this field and made millions of dollars out of pure crap.

Also as rightly mentioned, NFT is heavily prone to market manipulation. Influencers and celebrities are milking the commoners by influence while actual pieces of work are getting ignored.
1040  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin, Privacy, Mixers on: January 03, 2023, 04:25:34 PM
One of the best things that happened to our financial well being is getting to use & have bitcoin plus other cryptos of course, and the privilege  of some privacy as we spend and receive without giving out personal information thanks to its pseudo nature . But one business industry that has built its success around this are mixers, how do these guys really make their money without really advertising aggressively to increase their profit margins and who are the most likely clients to this business... And lastly in terms of protecting a user's footprints, can a domain host give (sell) out this information to third parties ?

The main reason why people use mixers is to protect their privacy and break the chain of transactions. So I don't think any mixer will sell off their user's data because that's the only area on which they have built their business. But no one really knows what they do at the background. There's always a risk!

Also mixers have been a target for the regulatory agencies in US where FBI has already a mixing service to shut down. So it may be very much possible that the regulatory bodies already possess the data from the closed mixing service.

A risk factor will always be there but it's no possible to catch it in naked eye.
