1029  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: kakobrekla / BitBet.us: proper shady scammer on: May 20, 2013, 04:37:30 AM
3. Of the 3 aforementioned bets i've created, and the thousands of BTC they've brought in for bitbets, I have never received my portion share of the bet as stated at http://bitbet.us/faq/ . I have literally received 0 btc from bitbets.

This is part true, part untrue. As to March 15th bet, the split was 2-8, you were allocated the 2 (smallest, as per faq). No prevailed. As to April 1st bet, split was 3-7, you were allocated the 3 (idem). No prevailed. As to May 1st bet, split was 2-8, you were allocated the 2, no prevailed.

So, the part where you received nothing is true. The part where "as stated at" however is not true: whenever someone makes a new bet, the admin will allocate a minimum of .1 BTC to that bet, split between Yes and No. The person introducing the bet gets allocated the smaller of these. So if a bet is split 2-8 and No prevails, the introducing party gets nothing. In this sense you've not received anything exactly because that's what the FAQ says.

The winning strategy is to either make closer bets so that they have more of a chance to go your way or to make more bets, so that you get some winners in there.
Thanks bud, i didnt know that. It still seems shady to me that the onus is on the bet creator. Especially with how everyone jumps to one side or the other closer to the end date (to the point of even losing BTC just to win the bet). Had i known this before, i would have used another betting site for those wagers. As it stands now, i created bets that brought in thousands of btc wagers, advertised said bets, and received nothing. Either way you slice it, that's craptastic.
1030  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: PCIE x1 to PCIE x16 doubled up, non powered, on 4x 7970s, works fine. PIC on: May 20, 2013, 02:45:01 AM
It's been running 2 months and a half now. Overclocked as much as I can. Runs 24/7 at 730+khs no problem. Those same cables mined for a year before rig also..
That's super, you've been lucky. However, the point you're not understanding is that it can and will cause problems. You ignoring the issues doesn't make them invalid.
1031  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: PCIE x1 to PCIE x16 doubled up, non powered, on 4x 7970s, works fine. PIC on: May 19, 2013, 05:23:40 AM
Powered risers are useful because pcie1x only supports 25w, and 16x supports 75w. Most higher end GPUs take advantage of this, and most everything pciex16 that uses only 25w is non-gpu. If you use a shitty mobo/cut corners, you'll burn out your slots. Not sure what the point of this thread is, as thousands have done this in the past (i have 4 rigs myself running on plain risers).

1034  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: [TO THEYMOS AND MODS] BFL scammer tag? on: May 18, 2013, 07:14:15 PM
I just want to know, what makes them scammers? they Have shipped the 1st batch, if you follow their blogs/tweets/etc. you Will see the problems they have dealt with? no, lets call them all scammers because you don't talk to them and you haven't got your product yet.

you try selling out a costly mistake of 10K dud chips from misaligned Photo-lithographic mask. these guys are not Intel or AMD you know.

am i on their side? no, they could of marketed the whole thing a lot better then this, they should of accounted for these issues.

one thing i do look at is more then one side of the issue. BFL has an angry mob at their doors, i don't join the crowd, i look for why they are there.
You have much reading and catching up to do.

1039  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: the fuck is wrng with this forum scammed by liberty payment?(PENDING) on: May 09, 2013, 04:24:47 PM
I dont give a fuck about my LTC you idiot you emptied my money pak. This whole forum is gunna die if mods cant keep tabs and label scammers that were accused MONTHS prior.. WTF.. How can some dude be aloud to scam so many people on the same account!?? Whatever I agree I am stupid for not doing more research but god damn... I assumed this community was a little more devoted then this.
This forum is NOT a community.

If you want an actual community like feel, where people take note and expose scammers and help facilitate trades, then you need to be on #bitcoin-otc in irc freenode.
1040  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Say bye to ripple, prepare to say bye to litecoin on: May 09, 2013, 04:19:42 PM
The problem with Ripple is that OpenCoin could be raided by the feds and then XRP are worth NOTHING.

Also, it isnt mined - and it isnt even close to being scarce. Its made by a FOR_PROFIT_PRIVATE_COMPANY. They have one goal. MAKE MONEY.

BTC and LTC dont have these problems...
You forgot it was developed by a for profit company, and they have held onto 25% of all XRP for themselves.
