10281  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Horse racing game on: March 23, 2018, 09:58:34 PM
In my place horse racing game is legal and gamblers put their bets on the horses of their choice, however there group of gamblers who place bets by themselves within the group they form and watch the game online or live on TV and distribute their bets to the winner after the game. This one is illegal. Do you have the same activity in your place and are you participating in horse racing gambling too?

I don't think its illegal in a sense. If you are talking about local bookies then its illegal. Yes, I have been in local horse racing for so long. But I already quit because our local bookies doesn't want to accept bets because the government is pursuing illegal gamblings, including horse bookies.

But if just a group of friends watching live horse racing and then trying to bet against each other, then I don't see any illegal on it as long as its within or inside their home.
10282  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2018 NBA Season on: March 23, 2018, 09:41:24 PM
Dwight Howard monster performance helps the Charlotte Hornets snatch a win. It's not about the playoffs spot but one great thing happened in this game is Dwight Howard's record. He produced 32 points and 30 rebounds Shocked on that game and became a 3rd player in the NBA history to produced a 30-30 points+rebound on a single game.

But unfortunately he was being suspended for one game, not for that record (it's a lol) but for getting the 16th technical foul this season. Well it's a NBA rule that once a player reached 16th technical foul for that season, it will be an automatic suspension the next game.

Missin the prime Dwight Howard because of that performance. Smiley

yes, it is an amazing performance!
there were 8 players in Nba with at least 30 points + 30 rebounds: in 2010 Kevin love, Karl Malone in 1982 while Wilt Chamberlain did 124 times at least 30 points + 30rebounds!
He is good no question but he is inconsistent, I think Charlotte will miss the playoffs this year but they are very consistent in the past years.
I don't now if with howard in this team they can still improve, by the way, good thing that Howard played a lot of games this season.
Yes. I agree with you there.
Charlotte is not a very good team without Howard.
But as that those 30 rebounds was an amazing achievement. I watched the replay of him doing that last one with a couple of seconds to go and it looked  as if the other team player just let him have it so he can get that last rebound to be the first to get a 30-30 game. LOL! Grin
Even the announcer said that when they showed it afterwards. Wink

Looks like Dwight has totally lost his and he is like a bad omen to the teams he has joined that's why they have to let him go, I don't know, ever since he left Magic, he wasn't the same anymore. Yeah he did a 30-30 but that's it.

I'm sure that he can be totally forgotten because of his bad performance on whatever team he got into, but something is wrong with the guy, he's either frustrated that's why he got so many T's or maybe he has lost the competitiveness inside of him.
10283  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Does becoming a parent changes the gambler? on: March 21, 2018, 11:23:54 PM
This was the discussion topic we were having last night, a bunch of gambling friends and one of them an expecting dad. There were counter arguments that his child also would turn out a gambler like he is.

The arguments were that it is his in his gene and that'll pass on to his child, since every one in his family was a gambler.

The counter argument was that the child would make a logical decision and genes won't play any part in this.

Which brought us to another important question what if turns out a gambler would they both play together. Would he be comfortable?

Amid this he walked out and texted me he didn't wish to gamble anymore, so wanted your views on this.

Hard to answer mate. When my first child was born, I totally quit gambling, but started to come back again. Same as when my 2nd child as well. So personally, I will say that once a child is born, it will somewhat have a positive impact and you might forgot about your gambling habits.

But I admit that I'm addicted gambler so I don't have control. The main thing here is that you still have the responsibility to handle and bring food in the table before you go on your gambling sessions.
10284  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Canelo Alvarez tested positive on a banned substance on: March 21, 2018, 11:03:04 PM
GGG making a lot of noise or maybe hyping the fight. As he called Canelo a cheater.

Quote
Golovkin is not buying Canelo's excuse, which several other athletes have used in the country - including other boxers like Erik Morales, Francisco Vargas and Luis Nery.

"Again with Mexican meat? Come on," Golovkin said to media members on Tuesday.

"I told you, it's not Mexican meat. This is Canelo. This is his team. This is his promotion. ... Canelo is cheating. They're using these drugs, and everybody is just trying to pretend it's not happening."

https://www.boxingscene.com/golovkin-canelo-cheating-using-drugs-de-la-hoya-dirty--126405

We can understand where GGG is coming from. And I agree that it will somewhat put a stain of Canelo from his past and future fights. And his opponents can make a excuses that he is on PEDs, when this lost.  Grin

10285  Economy / Economics / Re: Why the price of bitcoin rapidly going down??? on: March 18, 2018, 11:16:41 PM
Is it because of the large number of altcoins?

Supply and Demand. There are no demand currently, and obviously there are a lot of investors selling that's why the price is going south. The reason why are investor sell is that there might be hearing FUD, or they are afraid that bitcoin will go down even further and so cut losses, they decided to just sell it even if the market is already bleeding.

One news that they are afraid of is the G20 discussions on crypto. It was reported that countries like France and Germany wants the group to have heavy regulations. So this news alone is enough for a lot of investors to panic and eventually offload and sell everything.
10286  Economy / Speculation / What if the Mt. Gox trustee didn't dumped bitcoin on: March 18, 2018, 07:23:05 PM
Guys,

What do you think the price will be of today if he didn't dumped the Mt. Gox coins?

(1) - The price will rode new all-time-high and we maybe around the $20K-$30K by now?
(2) - The price will eventually plummet no matter what because of the sudden rise last December when there's a lot of investors (FOMO) suddenly pours cash on the market?

Please share your thoughts?
10287  Economy / Speculation / Re: Buying BTC below 10,000 USD? on: March 18, 2018, 06:58:32 PM
Im starting to trade and i want your opinion:

Do you think that if i buy "x" amount of BTC for any price below $10,000 USD will get me a profit on a long term (>1 year)?

I know is unpredictable but i want to know what you guys think.

Thanks in advance.

In my opinion it won't be a good year to invest bitcoin. Since watching the price trend right now it may take a long time for it to rise again. From the time being let's just observed if the btc price will show signs of comeback.

Then why not throw some money, at least money that you are willing to afford to lose and then ride it along and waited it out till bitcoin recovers? For me this is a good time to buy and invest on it because its already too low, in my opinion.

No need to wait till it further go down, at $7K a pop, bitcoin is already a steal. Although we believed that this year is not going to be easy, but I'm sure that when everything settles down, we may again see another all-time-high. At least you will have your chances to make profit when we pick up and make a run at the end of the year.
10288  Economy / Economics / Re: Bull trap right now? on: March 18, 2018, 01:22:07 AM
Technical analysis for crypto currencies is a thankless task. Too much of the bitcoin rate is influenced by news, rumors and information about future forks. At present, the greatest impact, in my opinion, is the implementation of Bitcoin Lightning Network (LN) technology.
https://lnmainnet.gaben.win/
What you said is true. Bitcoin is being affected by the news released by medias. But as of this 2018, I don’t think that’s the issue. What I’m considering as the main problem in 2018 is Facebook ban of ICOs and advertisements of cryptocurrencies and the upcoming ban that will soon be made by Google to prevent ads that has to with cryptocurrencies.

So I think people are afraid of all these things. But I don’t really see that as a problem. But apart from that, I think investors might be taking a break after the run in 2017. Whatever it is, Bitcoin always recovers.

But we shouldn’t be expecting a rise all the time. There are times markets fall, there are times they rise and there are also times they become stable.

I think what is affecting btc price right now is the uncertainty coming from the new regulations about exchanges. The different countries like Singapore are trying to regulate crypto trading after the reversal of trades

Today price is already less than 8K. Not sure when a market will stabilize to move up. If this goes down like this every week then new people will lose the confidence and do a panic sell to drag prices some more down. I think all governments need a lot of time to regulate this market so prices may not recover back so fast.

Too bad that we have bottom again for the nth time. It really hard to see where the price is going because there's another event in the coming weeks that can significantly affect us, the G20 summit.

I don't know if this is a bull trap of what, because we have bounce back to as high as $85xx just a few days ago and now going down below $8,xxx. So much uncertainly and we don't know when we are going to see any recovery. To be honest, I don't see anything in the horizon that will help us get back as this stage. But I'm not giving up and still believe that at the end of the year, we can all look back and says that we have overcome a lot of obstacles in the beginning.
10289  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How can you save money while playing gambling games? on: March 18, 2018, 12:48:19 AM
you cane save money while playing gambling games when you put all your winnings to your savings but leave some for your bets or money for your gambling.

I chuckled when I read your comments mate. Its seems that you are not a gambler. Yes, indeed you can do that, and believed me I do. I always put back the money I won in gambling. But the problem lies when you go back at gambling again and lose.

What are you doing to do then? Withdraw the money again and play and hope that you are going to recover what you have lost and then some. However, there's no assurance that you can do it.  So for me, there's no way that you can save money from gambling because its going to cyclical.
10290  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UFC FN 127: Werdum vs Volkov Prediction and Info Thread on: March 18, 2018, 12:20:11 AM
Damn, Volkov is real. He KO Fabricio Werdum. It was cruise control for Fabricio and was ahead 29-28 heading into the fourth round on the judges’ scorecards.

Volkov is +180 underdog tonight, and for those who have put bet on him congrats.

Sad though to see Fabricio lost this fight when he is already ahead. However, I might say that its not over till the final bell rings.

As for Manuwa vs  Blachowicz, this time Jan has his revenge and won UD. He KO Jimi in the first round but unable to finished him though.

10291  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin as your main income? on: March 17, 2018, 11:02:55 PM
For everyone who have quit their job and moved to trading bitcoin as their main income, then its not looking good right now because the we are in the bearish trend for the last 2 months or so.

That's why I'm against bitcoin as your main source of income because of the instability of the market price. I'm sure that for those who chooses bitcoin over stable job, they are all in a panic as well because of the current situation.
10292  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: March - bullish month? on: March 17, 2018, 10:00:56 PM
What do you expect - will cryptomarket be bullish in March?

I guess that this bearish trend since mid January should be finally over and the new slow bullish trend will come. Similar to the situation in May 2017 when BTC price was 1500 USD and then the price went slowly up to 7000 USD in the beginning of November. We can see many new people coming to crypto every day. The volumes on major exchanges are quite good these days and with the Lightning Network coming this year I'm very positive about BTC development in 2018.

We are at the midway point this month, but I still haven't seen bearish trend being stop at his track. The last time I checked, the price of bitcoin is below $8K. (ouch). Lightning Network Beta if I'm not mistaken has been released but it didn't have significant effect.

And then there's the G20 outcome next week. Another critical event for this month that will really affected the price in the next coming days.
10293  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Pacquiao vs Matthysse on: March 17, 2018, 09:13:27 PM
What we know so far is Freddie Roach has not committed himself yet to train Manny for this fight. Bob Arum is the the promoter for this fight, it will be De la Joya's Golden Boy Promotions and Manny's MP Promotion.
I'm not updated with what's happening to the boxing career of Manny but if Freddie Roach doesn't committed himself to train Manny, do you know when he will start training him or Manny will train himself alone with the assistant coach?

Maybe he wants to try or reign in every division in boxing?
MP is an eight division champion so what he really does want? My opinion on this, it's not about the title, it's about the money.

Of course, I believed that everyone is really fighting for the money. Boxing is now a big business. While others still want to fight because of pride. And then some wanted to prove that they still have it. Another classic example is Muhammad Ali. His health is deteriorating that time, but he needed money. And then Dela Hoya-Pacquaio. He wants to proved that Roach is wrong, however, we know what Manny did to him.
10294  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2018 NBA Season on: March 16, 2018, 11:50:07 PM

Damn San Antonio Spurs! They need to mostly win their remaining games. I want to see them in playoffs as NBA usual playoffs is composed of teams together with San Antonio Spurs. Can't imagined this team will not reached the playoffs anymore. I want them badly even on 8th spot. But others teams are getting a hard play too for that last spot.

Hope Spurs can nailed this time and will not end their playoffs streak for I don't know how long it was already.

How long it was now? Here's some of the happenings that might give you an insights on how long it was now for the Spurs to be in playoffs: Smiley

-Nintendo64 was just released
-Bill Clinton was the president of the US
-Google didn't exist
-Titanic was the top movie
-Pokemon was just introduced
-Harry Potter didn't exist
-Kawhi Leonard was in kindergarten
-Tim Duncan was finishing college
-Kobe Bryant, Allen Iverson and Steve Nash were rookies
-Lonzo Ball wasn't even born

Just saw it somewhere. Cheesy Did you imagined now how long the playoffs streak of San Antonio Spurs? Cheesy

That was insane. Speaking of record though, I dig some and here's what I found out:

http://www.lakersnation.com/this-day-lakers-history-kobe-bryant-starts-50-point-streak-with-65-points-overtime-blazers/2018/03/16/

I still remember that day when Kobe was scorching hot and almost hitting all shots. And as the articles states, it started his run of 50 points or more in 4 straight games.
10295  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling: Culture on: March 16, 2018, 11:24:38 PM
Have you ever wonder why even there are a lot of negative things gambling bought, it still doesnt leave us ? Is that so, gambling has been a part of our culture , even you have plenty or not. Rich people often socialize in the form of casino, while the poor are contented on country games with lower bets. I, as a person living on a third world country, witnessed how gambling form our culture. Town celebrations or "fiesta" are not complete without low cost gambling houses called "perya" where you can bet starting from almost $.02 and above. Every corner of the street has some kids playing coin games and even a wake makes its company awake using card games. Weird isnt it? How about in your country?
I think the word "perya" is very familiar with me here our country. Yes, you can bet at a low price using our fiat coins. They have may feature game at a "perya" playing cards, rolling a ball to the numbers, playing dice wood with colors and the most games that I like to gamble is tossing coins to bet a big amount of fiat. But all of these games are base on luck game.

Of course who will be not familiar with the word "perya" as this is common in when there is a "fiesta" in the Philippines. But our culture of gambling really came from different influencers or shall I say colonizers. The word perya came from the Spanish word "feria". Anyways, as I have said, its already a tradition an part of our culture.

We gradually graduated from "perya" to "casino's, and from the usual card games around the corner like "pusoy" or "tong-its" to "poker". Well in my case, that's how I evolved and up to now I'm still into gambling but in different forms now. lol.
10296  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Pacquiao vs Matthysse on: March 16, 2018, 10:51:22 PM
Earlier it known that Manny was asked to be an under card for Jeff Horns fight but Manny rejected the offer. There were also rumors that Manny can't fight in the US like in Las Vegas because he has issues with the IRS "again".
I don't know that these issues are existing with Manny Pacquiao. It wasn't reported to the news that he was offered to be an underdog or he chose to keep quiet and choose to be silent.

Correct, I thought that he has indeed settled that issue with the IRS long time ago. But I know that he has make arrangements with the Philippines BIR (Bureau of Internal Revenue) about the tax evasion filed against him.

Correct me If I'm wrong but isn't it US has imposed stricter tax laws under Trump's administration? So I think it would make sense for Manny to fight outside US soil where he has to pay like 10%-20% against the new US tax law for non-residence to pay as high as 36%. Nevada doesn't have income tax that's why a lot of high profile fight happens in Las Vegas but with the new tax reform law, it looks like it was overshadowed.
10297  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2018 NBA Season on: March 16, 2018, 09:27:04 PM
It was a very close game between Cavs and the blazers ,  as I predicted a Cavaliers win , there was an opportunity but was very hard , LeBron James played big time game as usual scoring 35 points , 14 rebounds but still can't carry the team only by his own , he needs help from other players , we expect the comeback of Kevin love being healthy to help LeBron , but I think J.R Smith should do better than this poor games that he's playing right now . Any way the Cavs shouldn't be worried for playoffs qualification but some improvement specially in defence should be done .

Any superstars need help from their teammates. Smiley LeBron James production is good overall it's just that less productivity was being made by this teammates. They are lacking of big men too (Tristan Thompson & Larry Nance Jr. ) that increase the difficulty of winning the game.

But on the other hand, Portland Trail Blazers really played great so no questioned at all why they won. CJ McCollum and Damian Lillard combined for 53 points and that is really a kind of a monster performance by them. One of the great duos in the league.

Cavaliers bench is enjoying watching James and his monstrous jam that they totally forgot that they are in a game. Lol.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HOMs08B84aY

Kidding aside, the injury of Cavaliers side has contributed to their lost. And then the bench players can't get anything going and James has to take over, unfortunately it was not enough as CJ and Damian for another perfect performance. Make it 12 now at this will be facing Detroit next game.

Well tomorrow will be March 18 and I wanted to see if there's indeed correlation between the said geometric storm and the bitcoin price. Today almost everyone has bounce back and going green so let's see how it goes tomorrow.

I agree with someone that it might affect the moods of investors for some strange reasons.

10299  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Best exchange on: March 15, 2018, 11:59:05 PM
I need some help!
What exchange to use in order to withdraw cryptocurrency after ICO?

it depends on the ICO which it is listed. but for me binance is the best exchange out there. huge volume and easy to use exchange. also the transaction fee is very low compare to other exchange.

Yes, it really depends on which tokens you are holding are going to be listed. But based on my experienced, Binance is still my top choice because of its superb support.

Remember just a week ago, there was some issue with them regarding a bot which has been exploited by hackers. Fortunately though they have mechanism in place to raise a red flag that's why they step up very quick and all withdrawal was put on hold until they found out what happened. That alone show's how they are really taking care of their customers.
10300  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Tennis League All Thread on: March 15, 2018, 11:47:26 PM
It seems to me that Federer is the only top 10 player currently in form. Cilic has ok form as well but for some reason he is always awful on this tournament. Since I am from Croatia I have mostly watched matches from domestic players and I must say that I am very impressed how Borna Coric and Petra Martic played this week. OK, Petra is out but she played great match vs. Halep yesterday, really enjoyed the contest.
Well most of the players are currently injured and those who recently returned from injury are still not back to their best yet and even when they are their best, i doubt they would prove troublesome for Roger Federer who is enjoying a fine rejuvenation at this period.

Correct most of them are physical injuries or have a some sort of mental or personal issues to deal with. Just glad that Roger Federer is the last man standing and has taken care of his health up to this level. Remember last year and this year, he chooses which tournament to enter so that it will reduces pressure on his mind and body that why is is like Federer 2.0 so much energy and somewhat rejuvenated.
