10301  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: is it possible to hack your bitcoin from your wallet? on: November 21, 2016, 10:06:53 PM
Just come it to my mind. is it possible? to get hook into your wallet and send some to another wallet? Undecided

It is indeed possible and in some ways is already done.
There's softer methods (like producing viruses). These retrieve data directly and mean that less computation power is needed by the hacker (an example being the AV coin project that launched from this site a while back).
There is then the "brute force" approach, which doesn't work as well with Bitcoin (as there's so many posibilities) and takes lots of time and computation due to the difficulty.
10302  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Marketplace (Altcoins) / Re: Bitcoin Clone development on: November 21, 2016, 10:03:05 PM
Hi Everyone

I am looking for someone to help me create a bitcoin clone with the open source code that is available on github and obviously a few modifications.

Thanx

As mentioned above, just use sites that already offer this service.
Or just try to make your own alt coin by modifying what you want from the source code (fi you don't understand it and want to make an altcoin then it's a good opportunity to learn about it and about the coding behind Bitcoin).
Otherwise, I'm sure there will be many people on here that may be happy to help you (usually for a fee as there are so many altcoins now).
10303  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: The Truth Behind New Altcoins on: November 20, 2016, 08:31:57 PM
If you're new to these forums and think this place is legit...

I will tell you this.

96% Of any of the new coins, including many of the repped ones, are a few groups of thieves who produce and dump code where they alter some non-important piece of code that they describe in confusing terms to make the coin look good.

They attract new users who have not learned about this scam into paying them even before a coin launches.  They build up some btc from the release, keeping coins and investments, then just disappear.  You will see a mysterious new user post an alt coin days later that happens to be from the same group of people.

DO NOT FALL FOR THIS. ITS ALL BS.  There's a handful of actual legit coins the rest are either 100% scams or are simply dumped later on.

ALSO WHO THE HECK RUNS THIS FORUM?

IF YOU HAPPEN TO LOAD THIS UP ON TOR BROWSER YOULL NOTICE THIEVES USING THE TOR IP's WITH BANNED ACCOUNTS.  MAKES SENSE BUT YOULL ALSO NOTICE
THE FORUM OPERATORS WILL UNBAN THIEVES IF YOU PAY THEM IN BITCOIN.
HuhHuhHuhHuh??

There's also new coins that are made and released but have edited code that instead hides viruses.
The main altcoins that actually are useful have very similar sizes of wallet normally as they all use the Bitcoin one and just change the nodes and servers it points to.
Thieves don't pay to get their accounts back, they're merely left unblocked and just given red trust by other users instead (they don't really block people for scam - though they should).

Only invest what you can afford to lose. Very simple rule.

OP needs to play EvE Online for at least six months to understand this rule.

Why "EvE" online for understand this rule? Can you explain better?

Of course, "invest what you can afford to lose" is the same mantra people are saying when talking about ponzi scheme Smiley . The answer is no! You don't need to invest anything in a fucking service that doesn't pay and could turn easily in a scam!

Why do i say EvE? Because, it's riddled with scammers, ponzi schemes, and the economy and other players can kill your wallet faster than you can say "warp away", all because you either were duped into trading a commodity that was going to get dumped or you were flying something that you couldn't even afford to buy again with your wallet's balance.

These money are fake money (only for the game) or you can exchange for real cash?
Maybe people create this fake situation just for trolling or with playing purpose (ps I never play / heard about EvE).

BTW I think its a natural instinct for the human scam others human.
Every time, there is just the stupid idea to get an advantage from the problem of another human. Just it.

It is mainly human and community nature to scam and it happens everywhere (not just here). The fact that this is a place full of scam is quite weird and shows the issue of anonymity with it.

1.
Hi all very new to the world of bitmining and having to learning very quickly.
I too agree with many of the comments on this forum as in web site, trading address which is an actual post code ect but would like to say I have bought 5 s7 ant miners and 5 bitmain psu's from James and the transaction went well, he responded within an hour of my mail requesting a price and this was at stupid o'clock at night, he got me a price and sent me a pro forma invoice all within 24 hours, I paid via bank transfer and he confirmed the order.
The units where delayed slightly by transport / bank holiday and he was very apologetic, couldn't help enough, he sent me the tracking info and the miners arrived, I now have an issue with one unit which he is helping with tech support.
Looks to be a guy trying to help by giving a product at a good price and tech support along the way.
I will be buying from him again so hope others will also.

2.
Hi just seen post got lucky, think so looking at posts before me but all was received and had a problem with a hashing board but sent back to him and waiting for its return fingers crossed, the rest have been fine and they all work running 24/7 but without the one board, only problem is it's very time consuming keeping an eye on blocks won or not almost addictive but very interesting and hopefully profitable.
Don't know about the cloud service but purchase was fine.

3.
A few months ago I took the plunge and purchased a 10Ths contract. The payments have been good each week, occasionally a bit late. The returns have been very good though. The other thing is when I purchased the contract the credit card part of the web site was down but the owner offered to take payment via PayPal. I am appreciative for this and his putting up with all my emails.

Andy

How nice. 3 replies, from newbies. (I know two are from the same person but still).

Doesn't take a genious to work this out - also, you wouldn't post on this thread now unless you specifically searched "bitcoinminersuk.com" would you?
10305  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Router recommedations for home mining on: November 12, 2016, 05:12:18 PM
Looking for recommendations for a wifi router that will work well with home mining.

I am currently using an outdated dlink router which does not like when I try to watch netflix and running miners all at the same time

EDIT: miners are run off ethernet cable, wifi is is used for all other devices on the network

I'm not sure the router you need really matters very much. If the miner is quick, it has been said here that the miners use a maximum of 1mb/s.
This being said, you'd need requirements for:
• 1mb/s per miner
• ~10-20mb/s for each device you wish to stream from using other content.

It is probably helpful to get two routers and two internet cables, or to try to combine the miners in any way you can (like the way you can join 3 antminers of the same type to one control computer).
10306  Economy / Micro Earnings / Re: Faucebox is closing on: November 12, 2016, 04:53:38 PM
Do you offer faucet script or we can make a faucet without hosting.
Hi,

there's going to be a faucet script, but not on launch. I just need to roll out a working microwallet website where me and other faucet owners will be able to mitigate their sites before faucetbox/paytoshi's shutdown.

It is probably in your interest to start off with just an API until you get enough interest to need more for it.
Do we know why faucetbox is closing - is it a reason that you should be worried about?
After that, more things will probably be added to site - to mkae it comparatively better than faucetbox?
Well, main thing is to launch with the API first, then I can keep adding more stuff, as demand grows.

FaucetBOX is closing because it's not profitable to run it in the current faucet ecosystem.

I don't want to reveal many things before I make them/upload them online, so I can't give any info on that ;p
Just protecting my ideas/business, that's all, heh

Keep an eye on the official thread, I add 1-2 screenshots on main page every day, so you guys can follow the progress

Sounds Great!
I like the idea of people not announcing things before they are released (when they're useful updates) as it adds a greater suprise as to what happens and how it can change to make it better. It also means that if you can't quite get something coded fast enough then you don't have a deadline and aren't forced to release something that's faulty and negatively impact your business. If you have a more profitalbe company that you feel will last lonnger than faucetbox then it's definitely good.

oh God , Faucetbox is closing. Going to disable all APIs of faucets.

Is there anything similar that can be used?
There are things like Xapo, but they are less anonymous for earnings and require lots of informaiton just to earn from them.

This is quite strange as they should really be in nprofit based on the number of users who use their services?

Are your services fully operational yet?
I just announced the project, it can be found in the link you quoted. Please keep an eye on it about progress.
It should launch in a week from now, it'll be operational.

I'll be adding more features. New features as well Smiley

http://www.faucethub.io/

Thank you, I'll keep an eye on that one.
It looks very similar to faucetbox so I'll try to use your system when you launch.
I was asking when it would launch as I saw the landing screen was blank, but it's great to hear you'll be fully operational shortly!
10309  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What about the idea of a bitcoin shop in big cities? on: November 08, 2016, 09:27:44 PM
Hey Guys,

what would be your opinion if there would been Bitcoin shops in big cities like London, Berlin or Paris (also smaller cities).
So you could go inside the shop and buy or sell Bitcoin for a good price.

I think it would be an good (and an advantage) idea because more people would use Bitcoin so the price would rise up and the people who are owning Bitcoins at the moment would have more money in Bitcoins. Wink

Best regards,

Patrick Smiley

There are already shops like this, many stores that accept bitcoin and also have bitcoin ATM's inside them. There is a difficulty with shops accessing Bitcoin as there has to be a way to program it into a till and to wait until the transaction is at least confirmed once on the blockchain.
It would be useful if more shops would accept Bitocin as it would get greater adoption and increase its value.
I think it's better to build a community shopping center. with it we can build a shopping center strong. with approved agreement is to accept bitcoin as a medium of payment.

a seasonal market bazaar that only accepts Bitcoin as a mode of payment is much feasible. especially  Christmas season is coming.

This is also a quite good idea. If we can certainly get the support from the other bitcoin users in the community especially those entrepreneurs then is could probably be an interesting way of having  bazaar

That does sound quite a good idea, and if used at Christmas, would increase the demand on the currency at that time which would make it more widespread.
That's really not a bad thing would be that the shops have started Christmas sales with bitcoin. And it should not depend on the size of the city. People are all the same can go for these sales.

Everyone can indeed do it all. but I think for now indeed is very little user bitcoin so there are only some stores that use the bitcoin as one of the means of payment is especially stores that already know the surrounding scope. So, this is not a problem because all people would prefer to look for a good profit, so it does not require all of the bitcoin if still many requests about sales or market bitcoin bitcoin

There's probably too much difficulty in a shop that accepts Bitcoin.
They first have to get it approved by the government and would require a legal department in order ot ensure that everything was accurate.
Also, there would be little to validation to check if the shop is paying enough tax unless they use only one main address (but then you could link everyone's transactions to that one address and trace them back to the sender to work out what they purchased - which could be used for marketing).

The initial post stated only larger cities and I wouldn't think it worth it to do it in smaller cities unless it was a shop that was part of a large chain (it's much more difficult to implement as more money is required to initially accept it).

10311  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How to teach people to download software wallets? on: November 05, 2016, 12:47:28 AM
I keep seeing people that want to get started in bitcoin, asking "how do I buy bitcoins?" then they buy them, usually from Coinbase, or any other big sites like those, and they keep the coins there. It's like they don't make the effort to learn the fact that having coins outside of your local software wallet is very stupid. All those people are prone to suffer losses as websites come and go, and don't get me started on the people that keep their coins on all those shady exchanges.

How to avoid seeing this phenomena? it's like no matter how this is repeated, they never listen.

This is actually quite a difficult subject of how to teach pepole how to download wallets if they're not tech-savvy.
The first thing is that you should buy anything before you have done research on it to ensure that it is a stable investment.
Also, not many people know how the blockchain and bitcoin core work and communicate with even the fundamentals. What I'd suggest they do is use a mobile wallet (as it's the easiest to set up) or use a wallet like electrum, (but electrum still technically have a copy of the private keys and addresses).

10313  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The House always wins. on: October 30, 2016, 07:15:09 PM
I am not a gambler but wanted to give it a try for some fun experiment and some time I had left with, whatever I gambled with 25$ (with the sake of checking how long I can prolong my loss). The rest of the story continues.

So this is my case from FreeBitCo.in but sure would be the case with any Gambling website. Modified the more famous martingale script available all over the internet so that it extends the game play with some added tricks and tweaks to the script so that it takes its own time to run, with little profits along the way.

The saying of being provably fair is also not a valid point. It is written inside the system that it has to make sure the user loses if he/she is dumb enough to play for a long period of time.

What you have in hand to say that the system is fair?

1) Client- Seed

What the house has to say that we can screw you anytime?

1) Your Constant incoming Client seed,
2) Server Seed,
3) Server Seed Hash,

Not enough?

4) Bitcoin Address,
5) Email address,

Still not enough?

6) IP Address.

and there may be several more to detect that its coming from you and follow behind you to screw you.

Game Play.

Deposited BTC0.02800000 (around 17.5$ which was what got left after the high transfer fees of VirWox(Card/SLL/BTC conversion)) to the account. Ran my script for several hours with no issues at all (saw several timeouts in between  Roll Eyes ) and started accumulating satoshis. The max balance I had before being defeated is nearly 0.04700000 where in I spent a good 12 hours of play.

A Calculation, showing step play starting with 1 satoshi.

My Logic for Play.
Script is simple which works on Payouts ranging 30-35, running the values over and over again for small periods and then increment step by step till loses of 137 steps. Once it reaches step 138 it multiplies 1.035 by itself and plays the next round. At each step there is a win for sure until you are screwed by the System showing "Insufficient Balance to play".

Their Logic To Screw
They work with averages. Average the payout values to keep the game going for sometime. Then suddenly give the game less than required averages (for e.g. give contiguous wins within 5 to 10 steps on several occasions so that a single game can be extended beyond an average which decides to screw you out of shape.). On the way of the game they keep a calculation of how much balance you have, with the number of wagers you made and with the value of bet you are playing and how long you can go. If they feel they are near to 70% of the averaged game and the balance has not dropped sufficiently they say they give up and give you a win (but not always).

Took screenshots of big losing streaks (but a win) along the way (though was not able to take screenshot of the final losing streak of 254 consecutive loses with start of 19 satoshis. BTW went till 310 continuous loses with start of 1 satoshi but eventually won.)

How does dice scripts survive.
1) My best assumption is by the bets that users put by collecting all the satoshis earned from external faucets just to blow it away on gambling websites. So Dice websites work as if they are the aggregator of all the faucets (The House always wins). But this will only work till the google adsense pay is good and bitcoin price doesn't skyrocket.

2) People like me experimenting with no actual worth of experiment.

3) People who have lots of stash to blow.

Conclusion:
You can never beat the system. If it decides to screw you, you are screwed.
What ever you do you are gonna give it all to the house back (along with the winnings) in the long run from any of the Dice websites.

At least you almost did get a profit from it (before losing that too)!
They do use all those methods to track you anyway for most sites and they seem more interesting on the faucet sites!

With a house edge of more than 1% there really isn't much point in gambling (a point in investing), but not gambing itself.

It's pretty much guaranteed that the house wins unless you withdraw early, or win and don't ever gamble again, whichever happens. Of course, both are pretty unlikely outcomes and most people like to go high and that usually results in a loss. The house needs to win for the casino to keep operating as well.
They rely on the fact that that idea is never done by gamblers.
You also have to win a fairly large proportion in order to even make the transaction to or from the site profitable! (say it takes 0.0002BTC to transact the coins, that's 0.0004BTC you have to earn and unless you invest 0.2BTC that's quite a substantial amount to get!
10314  Other / Archival / [resolved] on: October 30, 2016, 12:38:39 AM
I don't know why this is but merely stating that a ponzi scheme could produce profit is a bad thing apparently?

It is known that they are scams but are also good to gamble on in order to find if you can get a profit as a more experienced member, are they not?

So, if ponzi schemes are bad (they are for saying that they have sustainable profit generation which is always a lie) but if they are wrong for gambling from then so are every piece of gambling sites that are currently in use by users here!
10315  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Can gambling be profitable in long term ? on: October 30, 2016, 12:32:47 AM
If someone which follows the set of rules and be discipline enoff. Can people make 50-100 $ a day just gambling in online casino.....?

That'd be extremely difficult to do.
What you could do, is invest in the casino. However, to get those turnovers, you'd have to invest a fairly substantial amount into the casine (over $100000).

I think this depends on what games are you playing. It has been proven that dice, lottery, and other chance/luck based gambling games are not profitable in the long run and will more likely lose all our bankroll.  But there are games that gives you an advantage doing in the long run because of the experience and skills accumulated playing these games.  Gambling games that is based on skills and strategies will more likely gives you  benefits and profitable in the long term.  Added to that is the sports betting because monitoring and learning on the statistics of the team competing and acquiring the knowledge of reading and comparing stats and learning the X variable and the effect on it on a certain team will more likely gives you a hint on who will win.

If you use bot or script you will not win at the end of the day. But if you a profit goal or set a profit goal in the future. It gives you chance to win in gambling. Just so you know how to be play safe in playing gambling. To be able to win in the future but there is not always winner only.

Bots tend to lose you money as they have no specific limits and if you set one, you could potentially lose more than you profit (If you have an amount that you pull out on gambling altogether with - then you are left with a great loss and nothing to remedy it)!

Skills and luck does not work perfectly on gambling yes we are still relying on our luck which is not often happened but what is more important is the timing there are only few times that we can win in a game but we are experiencing a loss more often than winning so i don't see any possibilty that gambling can be profitable in a long run unless it happened to me or to some people i know there will be a proof .
They are just need both skills and luck in gambling in order to win but yeah its not always. the important thing for me is just have fun.. not losing all your money.. in long term it can hurt your pocket and yeah there is no long term that can be profitable..
yes i also agree with you, that if you have some good skill, experience and good luck then you can really make money in gambling and gambling will be profitable in long term, but if you have no experience and skill then it will be difficult for you to make money in gambling.

How can skills help us to make profit on long term? It's a luck game, any time we can have a big loss sequence and it's all over. I think the only skill can help us on gambling games would be clairvoyance, to know the next number raffled.

Some people say that sport betting can be profitable if you have skills... But on most traditional gambling games I think it's not possible.

Skill and experience is what it takes to win. Forget luck, it doesn't work, just an idea!
If you are skilled enough, you will be able to set your limits on gambling and with experience, you can lean which strategies are best for you to use to earn the most amount of profit from it.
10316  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Can bitcoin quantity go down? on: October 30, 2016, 12:25:59 AM
Firstly, you're a new user, you shouldn't really have bought/got bitcoins before researching them.

Also, the amount of Bitcoins cannot technically decrease, they always increase.
The current rate they they increase is approximately 12.5BTC/10 minutes.

They could technically decrease in volume if bitcoins were somehow "lost" (however, they could technically be recovered somehow as there is usually some sort of trace left). And this last one wouldn't currently happen at the rate of inflation of Bitcoin unless a companie started trying to delete their rewards for the blocks that they mine.
10317  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Best Investments on: October 21, 2016, 11:40:51 PM
If you want good and fast profit, then you should invest in loaning and of course gambling sites, thus they are very very risky so you can lose all your money that you invested and if you want slower profit but no risk, then just by bitcoins and keep them in your wallet for some time and sell them when their price is very large, you will get lots of profit too

If you want a good profit then remove that "fast profit" mindset but rather sure profit.

All investment must taken step by step. Put some work, work hard, work properly etc. rather than desiring for a fast earnings with just a less work.

If you are planning to earn money with shortcut method then it will surely lead you to disaster so its better to move on in slow and steady way instead of choosing fastest ways to earn it and invite loss.

If you invest long term in gambling, then it's very unlikely you won't get a profit.
Gambling sites work off a scheme where they have a maximum amount that can be won on the site. This is a small percentage of all the investments and the money that the owner themeslves has. This means that you are more likely to make a profit (and the house edges are usually above 0%).

You can earn money quickly, however it is more profitable, the longer the money is left to grow in the specific area.
10318  Economy / Marketplace / Re: I Will Host Your Website On My Own Servers For Free (Up to 10GB of space) on: October 16, 2016, 10:22:12 PM
Hi, do you know any hosting which can give unlimited bandwidth and storage?
There are many hosting providers which will offer you unlimited bandwidth for example:

- https://www.yourserver.se/ - €4 / month for unlimited transfer and 10GB SSD diskspace.

- https://www.bacloud.com/en/hosting - $3.91 month/unlimited transfer 30GB SSD diskspace.

and here you will have unlimited space and bandwidth for $4.50/month:

https://www.hostwinds.com/shared.php

Of course these are all bitcoin friendly hosting services.

Steadyturtle.com also who offer unlimited bandwidth and data storage.

All the ones added above seem to be quite good options though.

If anyone does use OP's option, do copyright your content before sending it to them (so they can't edit it).

I'm not going to use his services, but I'm wondering how would I go about copyrighting my content (so they cannot edit it)?

Please advise, because it seems like an absolutely beautiful thing to know Smiley
Cheers

I am unsure as to how you copyright things mainly (I could probably do it but don't want to give a false impression).
As I understand it, anything you create is your intellectual property. This means that you technically own the rights to what you create and can do what you wish with it. This is then licensed specifically by the person (such as, if you were making software and wanted it to be Open Source (copyright free) it would be released under a General Public Use license that means that anyone can modify or edit it.

You'd have to speak to a lawyer or solicitor on how you can copyright content as it usually has to be accepted that it is your (and only your) intellectual property and is not in itself breaking copyright law.
10319  Economy / Lending / Re: need a loan and have a great domain as collateral on: October 16, 2016, 10:13:11 PM
i checked the prices for bitcoin domains and none of them is offered for less than a few thousand

most available bitcoin domains are on sale for 50k on namecheap

so if you have nothing nice to say...

This is a fairly valuable domain name as it is bitcoin.works so is rare (I wouldn't value it at $10 000 though.
However, sites like namecheap are great at overestimating the value of their domains and they do it extremely often to manipulate people into paying more for domains. Usually a domain that is useless and can be bought by a person buys for $1.50 is listed for several hundred/thousand dollars to try to get people to buy that or other domains for high amounts.

Yes, they will overheat really easily if you keep then in the enclosure purchased with the drive.
I initially suggested external ones as they're slightly cheaper and the casing merely pops away from the drive. Then, put them into a NAS enclosure or an old server and that will keep them cool enough to function.

Thanks for the advice mate. Perhaps, mining with HDD would be more accessible than with ASICs. HDDs can be found even much cheaper than ASIC hardware, in my opinion, and more accessible and easier to find. For cooling, I had this crazy idea of using USB powered fans connected to a USB Hub to cool off the HDDs.  Cheesy

The USB powered fans would work, but they'd have lots of wasted energy involved (and you'd have to position them so they allow air to flow in one direction through the entire drive).
HDDs are definitely cheaper, easy to source and quite cheap to fix (but asics can potentially produce more profits).
Is this mining with the Raspberry Pi or some stick miners?

This is more of mining with external ASICs (or stick miners) with the Pi. Also, it is possible to mine coins with the free space of your hard drive. The coin is called BURST (among many others like Siacoin) which allow you to mine them with your storage device. I will post pics of my Pi with the other equipment doing mining tasks once I finish ordering all the required hardware (and finish this college semester).   Smiley
You can't mine with a Pi. Well, you can, but it'll produce around 1MH/s maximmum which is useless to even attempt as you'll burn the CPU before accomplishing anything and it'll be unprofitable.

Also @abiky, I'd suggest you test the function on a regular computer to check you can set it up correctly.
