Here, Sapphire 480 4G, basic changes. I didn't change clocks or voltage settings. Use atflash without the -f flag. In other words, DO NOT FORCE THIS rom on your GPU, also if atiflash complains that the device ID is not the same, DO NOT FLASH. You can use this on both Hynix and Elpida. Link: Here"All the older files are still available, just change the " http://www.mininghwcomparison.com" part to " http://62.212.74.86/~mining/". Greetings So you changed only the memory timings? Thank you. I'll give it a try

Of course i took the time But as i've mentioned before, these were for private clients. I could however do something small (some small changes).. I'll post one today. Greetings That would be highly appreciated

I undervolt and underclock to save power and have less noisy rigs.
Each of my rigs, 6x480 4G, is mining ETH at ~130 MHs

Hello, guys...
One quck question: is there ROM available for RX 480 4GB Sapphire Nitro (non ref).
I tried manually changing memory straps, but when i open bios in Polaris Bios editor, there are no such timings as 1500, 1750 etc...
Any recommendations?
Thanks
Apparently no one took the time to try to mod one of these as they are less popular than their 8 GB cousins. I have a few 4Gb and I'm happy with their performance but wouldn't mind to try one modded BIOS just for the fun of it

@Claymore, we need a new second coin to mine... DCR, LBR and SC are worthless Any ideas?
|
|
|
Testing v2 in one of my rigs:
6x480 4GB went from ~210s to ~220s
Celeron CPU went from 10% to 80%
Conclusion: not worth it!
|
|
|
So we waiting for 2.0 version with increased hashrate due to rewritten code? I think Claymore will show who is boss here... If version 2 is not released today, it will be useless due to ZEC huge price drop. Unless it really increases hashrate exponentially Fingers crossed!

|
|
Very soon it will be time to move back to ETH

I'm mainly referring to the Linux users here..
But yes, you have a point. There is no stable windows release yet.
Let me personally try to change that this week.
Greetings
That would be highly appreciated. And where would you release it? In a new thread in this forum?
|
|
|
BTW, two rigs, 6x480 each, 9 hours straight on v1.1 Thanks Claymore!

Ok, the miners are dumping but who is buying?
Who are the morons? The miners making instant profit, or the buyers investing in a plummeting coin?
Make no mistake, I'm a miner and I would love to sell my coins at a much higher price!
But I'm afraid to hold assets on a coin loosing 30% value per day.
Am I a moron? Maybe...

v1.1:
- added Linux version. - fixed issue with rejected shares after devfee mining. - remove "-allpools 1" option if you use it and mine on miningpoolhub, suprnova, coinmine or nicehash pools. - added "XnSub" support for Nicehash. - fixed bugs.
PS. Read OP or Readme for updated samples of using on different pools.
I assume that "-allpools 1" is still required to mine in other pools, like nanopool?

Looks like right now if you have any RX 470/480
ETC PROFITABILITY = ZEC PROFITABILITY
Still more profitable to mine ZEC on 280x however.
Going by Nicehash and Whattomine data
ETH miners are already fully optimized, ZEC miners are at the early development stage. I still hope to get a lot more ZEC from my 480. Pity ZEC price is plummeting...

gpu-z only shows draw from pcie, which I think for newer cards is mostly memory related
Even so, If I'm getting 35 sols drawing 40w and someone else is getting 50 sols drawing 100w how can that be irrelevant? You do the math PS: I pay for my electric bill! It's not completely irrelevant. But you absolutely CANNOT accurately use GPUz power draw to compare different cards because they all have different power characteristics. It's only good for doing apples to apples comparisons. For example, mining Ethereum, I have RX480s that say 70~75w in GPUz but this relates to more like 120w from the wall. So a 50w difference. But my 290x, say around 130w in GPUz, but 200w from the wall, that's a 70w difference. Basically, you have almost no way of telling actual power draw from the wall with GPUz, it's just a guessing game. And power draw from the wall is what actually counts. And why do you need 2 x 850w PSU to power 6 x RX480? Even mining Ethereum at 180mh/s my 6 x RX480 only pull 810w, from the wall. You certainly don't need it for ZCash, I'm not even pulling 600w from the wall. Ok, I agree with you. I know it's not an accurate measurement. But it's a good indicator to compare different settings for the same cards. The two 850 PSUs were a vital component when my rigs were a mix of 270x + 7850 +7970 Now they are quiet and cold...

But you are not getting 35 s/s from 40w, get a killawatt and you will see your card pull atleast double that from the wall. Sure, you pay your own electric bill but dont fool people with completely wrong numbers.
I'm not trying to fool anyone! Just sharing my results and settings like so many others have done, ok?

Hey bro, your settings are awesome....I cant hardly hear the gpus which is great but Im down around 10sol/s....How can I beef it up a little? core or mem speed?
Thanks
Honestly, for ZEC I don't know. It took long hours of testing to reach this settings. They also work well for ETH.

Nice man.
The above config file, can I put it into my start.bat file? Same thing?
No man, that's the config.txt file This is my start.bat: setx GPU_FORCE_64BIT_PTR 0 setx GPU_MAX_HEAP_SIZE 100 setx GPU_USE_SYNC_OBJECTS 1 setx GPU_MAX_ALLOC_PERCENT 100 setx GPU_SINGLE_ALLOC_PERCENT 100 start /high ZecMiner64.exe
