601  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Can I hold my altcoin for years in my wallet? on: January 03, 2018, 04:59:36 PM
•What if I dont have any money ? And I decided to hold my altcoin at my wallet.
•Will the value remain?

For example

I got a Klarity token and I got no gas so I will leave it there for a year or two.

•Any chances of value getting higher? Or it will die to years later?

Many things can happen to an altcoin over the years:

1 - A hardfork on the blockchain. Your coins will have to be migrated to a newer version.

2 - An evolution of the coin' tech specs might force you to migrate to a new wallet, exporting/importing keys

3 - If you hold PoS coins, they will grow over time if you open your wallet according to the coins' tech specs.

4 - If your coin is a scam it will die sooner or later

602  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: All my money in 1 altcoin - Too risky? on: January 03, 2018, 04:52:22 PM
Hi,
the altocoin market is so variuous and there are dozen of interesting projects that can be supported.

But  i'm a little investor (500$) and i'm seriously thinking to put all my money in only 1 project I think is very good which curretly is in the top 40 of altcoins. I don't want to say the name because my topic wants to be very general: what do you think is the risk  by doing so? Should I invest in 2 or 3 coins instead?

Thanks

It doesn't matter if you are a small investor or a gigantic whale; diversity is a fundamental part of investment risk management.

You win some and you loose some, that's the nature of the game.

Putting all the eggs in just one basket is a really bad idea.

Diversify, choose 5 coins and spread your investment putting $100 in each.
603  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What are some stable altcoins ? on: January 03, 2018, 04:43:37 PM
There's no such thing as stable coin if you are going to ask me. All of them will see one time or another a lot of wild swings. Just look at how the market for altcoins right now, almost everyone of them have really enjoy a strong price increase last year. But they all start from nothing. If you are going to look for coins that are for long term, ETH and the next top 5 coins will be a good choice for you.

I don't like investing in shitcoins though, because its really hard for them to gain unless some groups will start to pump-and-dump and then the coins will suddenly die as a result of that kind of practice.

IMHO stability has to do with other things besides price or trading volume.

A stable coin is one with a powerful community behind it, with a committed and honest dev team who will not run away after a pump&dump and with a clear path ahead.

Price will always fluctuate due to volatile nature of the cryupto market.

Volume will also fluctuate in responde to the BTC pairing.

But for a truly stable coin, value will always increase!
604  Economy / Speculation / Re: Attention! BTC is heading for 8K! on: January 03, 2018, 08:34:30 AM
By the end year most users could have lost hope, because users didn't experience the price increase same as the one they've been expecting. Now this has been getting sought as the price has started to move forward slowly crossing $15000 on several exchanges. In specific there is no reason to see the price reach $8k.

And are you sure on the reasons that led BTC to $20k? What were those reasons?

Reason? Crypto markets are everything but reasonable!

We don't see the background moves, we can only guess.

605  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What altcoin will make us rich? on: January 03, 2018, 08:29:13 AM
There are 1385 altcoins today, not to mention a few others not yet listed.

In my view, the altcoins with true potential are the ones with a long term strategy for daily practical uses and not just for speculation.

Take a look at the PoS v3 coins with masternodes. That is the future!
606  Economy / Economics / Re: Can cryptocurrencies make physical money disappear? on: January 03, 2018, 08:18:39 AM
physical money can not be eliminated because each country has their own money so it is impossible physical money can be eliminated any different again with cryptocurrency may be lost or may be not sold for example it is not possible bitcoin will rise continuously there must be down even can not until valuable

One of the reasons for the crypto currencies success resides on the potential use as an universal currency, with fast transactions and other capabilities way beyond those made available by fiat currencies.

But fiat will keep on being the basis for the vast majority of the world economy.

Can you picture a reality where the price of oil is negotiated in BTC?

Can you see imagine what it would be like to get your salary in BTC and realize after a few days that you only have half of it?

Cryptos are still find a niche in our society, but we are really very distant from the day where fiat will disappear.

It would be wonderful to have a steady low well above the $30   Cheesy
608  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: What is best PoS coin to invest into right now? on: January 02, 2018, 12:29:14 PM
Started off with CLAM long ago since it offered an airdrop with BTC, litecoin, and doge wallets.  As of now i'm staking wave, gobyte, diamond, and velox for various reasons.

What I hope to do is get into a few more with masternodes.  Thanks for the link https://masternodes.pro/  Wink

Getting into PoS v3 coins is a great idea. Just beware that the info on masternodes.pro is not correct, at least for some coins.

Check out https://masternodes.online/ and compare.
609  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Bitcoin or Altcoin on: January 02, 2018, 12:18:55 PM
A wise investor will have a diversified portfolio. IMHO this can only be done by combining BTC with a group of altcoins.

An in my view, the best altcoins are all PoS because they don't need miners and reward the individual nodes supporting the network.

Good altcoins are thriving! Take a look at this performance:

611  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ethereum will overtake Bitcoin on: January 02, 2018, 12:10:30 PM
How many forks will BTC have in 2018?

What is the ETH roadmap for 2018?

One year ago could any of us have predicted the craziness that went down in 2017?

Guys, lets be honest... We cannot foresee the future! ETH has what it takes to seriously diminish BTC's dominance but a lot of factors have to combine in a favorable way for that to happen.
612  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Top 2 altcoins to invest in NOW. on: January 02, 2018, 12:05:10 PM
I am still waiting for perfect altcoin, that
1) doesn't wait for to block to be mined in order to confirm tx, and therefore has truly instant transactions
2) has some sustainable retention policy, instead of keeping things in ever growing blockchain forever
3) with incentives to nodes, not just miners
4) with privacy similar to Monero
5) with functionality similar to ETH, but with ability to fix bugs in that functionality
Once it is out there, I will buy it.

1 - DMD network produces a whooping 4 blocks per 10 minutes! DMD has a block time of only 135s.

2 - DMD is PoS v3. Check it out

3 - PoS v3 has masternodes, very profitable.

4 - DMD is anonymous like any other PoS v3 coin.

5 - DMD is being constantly developed since 2013.

613  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: What is the best coin to buy today? on: January 02, 2018, 11:56:57 AM

This is a coin to bet on!

A true keeper!
614  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: what to do if bitcoin decreases? on: January 02, 2018, 11:39:01 AM
BTC is too dependent on very unstable variables; Chinese ASIC manufactures, Chinese mining farms, South Korea political move to crackdown crypto exchanges, North Korea moves to steal as much as they can....

Nobody can predict what will happen to BTC in the long run, for now it seams to be stable in the $13K region but it can collapse at any moment.

For those who believe BTC is the future, you should buy more and hodl. I believe altcoins will be the future, therefore I keep my BTC investments at a minimum level.
615  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What altcoin will make us rich? on: January 02, 2018, 11:33:28 AM
Take a look at these stats:

This is the future!

DMD is being actively developed since2013, it has now a solid PoS v3 implementation and will soon reach the top 100!

616  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Altcoins are dying !!! on: December 31, 2017, 12:33:29 PM
Ripple and Cardano are currently being seriously pumped... It's crazy!
I was really surprised to see a new coin on the top list ,cardano, never heard about that earlier and started noticing just because it is in the top list of coins,i am also not sure why there is a huge pump in ripple and cardano, there are big whales trying to pump these coins because they know they could make a much bigger profit with these low valuation coins and pump them hard before dumping i guess. Grin

That's my guess too. AFAIK there is nothing to justify these market moves besides pure speculation, leading to a new wave of newbie investors risking their money on something very fishy ...  Grin
617  Economy / Speculation / Re: Attention! BTC is heading for 8K! on: December 30, 2017, 06:18:34 PM
The next big thing is Ripple, it's being heavily pumped. This move can only puss BTC further down.

Let's all be honest, nobody can guess what the whales will do tomorrow.

If they drop their support on BTC and fully turn their attention to an altcoin then BTC can really drop bellow 8k

618  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Altcoins are dying !!! on: December 30, 2017, 06:00:37 PM
Ripple and Cardano are currently being seriously pumped... It's crazy!

This is definitively not the same crypto market we has for the past years, now there are serious whales making huge moves with half a dozen altcoins.

BTC dominance is now ~37% due to this enormous pump.

Altcoins will never dye, the good ones will withstand the test of time.

619  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ethereum will overtake Bitcoin on: December 30, 2017, 11:51:00 AM
Guys, have you seen how Ripple is being pumped?

BTC dominance is only at 38% and Ripple has a ~100 billion market cap.

This can only mean one thing; someone is pumping it hard for the moment, but it won't last long and BTC will remain in the leading position for a very long time.

620  Economy / Economics / Re: Can cryptocurrencies make physical money disappear? on: December 29, 2017, 04:49:29 PM
That change won't come in our lifetime, it's just not feasible. In order for crypto to replaced fiat, the whole world has to be moved upside down. Think about it:

- All raw materials would be paid in crypto

- Al the transformation stages would be paid in crypto

- The finished goods would be sold in crypto.

This implies central governments using crypto as a primary payment method and that can only work with central regulation mechanism to establish the rules.

What about the public debt? The rating agencies? Are you guys insane? It might happen... but in a 100 years or so!
