Agreed with your assessment of the Namajanus vs Fiorot fight @owengtam09
It will come down her grappling because she can not stand there and just exchange punches or those strong side-kicks of Manon at all.
She did look more comfortable at the 125 pound weigh-class and not looking emaciated or drawn out like she has looked prior to a weight cut. So maybe she will produce more of a competition now compared to her last fight with Esparza.

Here are my selections for this UFC Fight Night 226 which happen at around 15 minutes from now:

Huge upset in esl pro league today, as movistar again win 2-0 beating GL. I was really confident on GL and they dont even win a map
Esl pro league is the hardest csgo tourn to bet on for me
Yeah they've been playing so well in EPL, dominant 2-0 against FURIA and GamerLegion. Can't wait to see them playing against Vitality, the odds is stacked against them at the moment (7.40)

My bets for today. Hoping for an upset from GamerLegion against Astralis.

Astralis are looking good coming off the break and winning their last two in 2:0 fashion.
Seems like they needed the summer to get their heads back into what they were doing a few seasons ago.
FURIA on the other hand surprised me since they were simply abysmal before the summer break back at Blast, Dallas and in Cologne for IEM.
Recently they have had a little bit of a run and it seems the changes in their roster have seemed to become cohesive enough to string along a few wins. With the likes of Fallen joining the team from Imperial Esports.

Looking forward to the matches starting in about 40 minutes from now.
Grayhound vs ORKS
Astralis vs FURIA
Gamerlegion vs Ninjas in Pyjamas

Good luck to all with their bets in ESL Pro League this weekend!

Actually heard he was going to be out for the remainder of the season with a possible reshuffling again for him during the off-season. This is only speculation so far because it was an injury to a mid-season replacement driver in the first place so I would be surprised if we see him driving for Red Bull or Alpha Tauri next season.

Practice 3 is just an hour away so strap in for a day full of racing, as we wait for qualifying next up, to see if Ferrari can do anything worth mentioning come raceday on their home track:

Nope, thats Andy out! ah I kind of knew that was on the cards with an opponent as
good as Dimitrov.
Big surprise to see Andy out so soon in the US Open and to a familiar foe who he has played against many times and won many times than has lost. Old age may already be affecting Andy, who look like he has already seen his best days in the sport. It looks like the time for him to retire and give way for the other younger talents in the sports to take over. Andy is not the only big name in the sport to be knocked out, he joins Stefanos Tsitsipas and Casper Ruud. Novak Djokovic moves to the next round and maybe he will win his 24th Grand Slam title.
Age is a big thing. Right now Djokovic alone keeps up his form and stamina overcoming injuries. Andy Murray quite often gets injured and makes a comeback. However he had been playing good in the lower series. He have got the never giveup mind that makes him continue to play amidst the difficulties. Earlier in the Canadian Open he walked over in the match against Jannik Sinner. The young players are really strong and aren't easy to win. In the past they lack experience, now it isn't the same.
Beyond certain age surely the players suffer injury quite often. Not everyone were able to maintain it in a much safer way same as what Djokovic does. The competence the young players were giving will easily tire the aged ones. Andy Murray could take rest announcing his retirement, if not he can spend time playing 250 masters were the competence won't be that big.
Djokovic is playing on another level as you can see with his last performance against Djere. He has no definition in his vocabulary for the word quit. He was down early on and struggling for the first half of match but managed to rally back and win it in dominating fashion taking the last two sets 6-1 in both.
Amazing how he manages to keep his mental fitness in check at the right moments so to drive major comebakcs such as this one for example.
Just an incredible tennis player and well deserved in being ranked number two of the world.
1085  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: FIBA Basketball World Cup 2023 - Betting and Discussions on: September 02, 2023, 09:03:21 AM
It's unbeleavable that nobody isn't talking about today's games... Fun things started and we have some upsets. I already said that Latvia and Slovenia looks understimated too much, so, their wins didn't surprised me that much. But what Brazil did against Canada is huge upset.
So happy not just about Lithuania win, but also how confident we played against elite team Greece, it was difficult to predict that we will win by 25 points. We're in 1/4 final already, don't want to get hyped too much, but I think we are capable to beat USA, after I saw how Montenegro played against them. Monenegro forced USA to play serious until very end. And Montengro managed to do it with 22 turnovers.
Italy made another upset by beating Serbia. At one moment it already looked that Serbia will run away, they already had 16 points lead. But Italy made comeback with amazing Fontechio performance (30 points). There was some chaos in the end, but ot's typical thing for Pozzecco team
Latvia - win against current World Champions is serious statement. And they done it without injured Bertans!
Puerto Rico win against Dominican Republic probably can be counted as upset too. Seems that both teams forgot about defense, scored 199 points combined. This time 39 points of KAT wasn't enough for a win.
Brazil win against Canada probably is biggest upset in tournament so far. And Brazil did it basically without 3-pointers. So, Canada is vulnerable too. Now situation in this group before last round looks crazy interesting with all 4 teams having 3 wins.

Congrats to your LTU team, it was as easy as expected but you always have to win it first, even though it looks easy on paper.
Brazil surely was the upset of the tournament. Betting on them would have paid you at least 14:1 on a good site, that's a decent payday I guess.
Anyway, now the group situation is insane. Spain or Canada play for 1 spot, just as Brazil and Latvia, who would have thought. So Spain or Canada is out, big surprise.

For me this is very interesting to see as well as this group brings the next opponent of team Germany in the quarterfinals. Don't know who I want them to face actually, first it was between Spain and Canada, which we can beat both, but now it's basically all 4 teams possible. If we beat Slovenia, Spain wins we play Latvia or Brazil, if Canada wins and Brazil wins we play Canada, if Canada wins and Latvia wins we get Spain.

And more scenarios if we lose, so many things to look at, hahahah.
If you managed to get Brazil at those odds then congratulations, those are expected for taking down the heavy favorites to win and possibly be in the finals with so many NBA players  being in their roster.
Didn't know Wemby was playing in this tournament until checking out the last few posts on this thread.
With Gobert not doing so good France needs somebody with his stature to take his place in their line-up if they want to advance out of these group stage games.
Watching the Finland vs Venezuela match and they were hanging around during the third quarter but it looks like Finland are finally pulling away from the heavy underdogs now. Same with South Sudan, but the difference is they were always ontop of their game against Angola as it is now half time in their match being up 15pts.

As soon we get some kind of increase to the bitcoin price and looking like a slight bullrun, something else comes up in the news to take all those gains made in less than a day.
Back down to where we started $25,900.

There is some ETF news for the beginning of a new month starting tomorrow which looks rather bullish so who knows what this will bring to the markets:

Namajunas still has it. She is still young and despite the long break, the skills won't fade that easily.
Like Zhang, Fiorot can knock her out once Fiorot can land a solid punch but as long as Namajunas has the agility she can get in and out quickly like she always does. This will be her strategy because Fiorot can strike with KO intention. Namajunas throw a combo and takedown if she has an opportunity and if she sees Fiorot is not back away, she'll get out quickly.

I think the fight will last til the 5th round because of this
Spent more time on this match-up then any other fight before.
Watching footage, predictions, differences in fight style encountering past opponents.
It seems that nobody really knows what to expect in this one since Namajunas will be up in a weight-class moving from straw weight to flyweight.
So fighting with that extra 10 pounds will change her fighting style in uncertain ways.
It will definitely make her slower and getting older does do that to everyone. So I don't expect the old Rose in there against Fiorot.
Actually Manon will feel stronger since she just fought a larger opponent in her last fight so seeing Rose in there she will feel like the beast.

Many have also said if Namajunas doesn't get a knock out in the 1st round then it won't happen and she will get worn down.
Because Fiorot is not easy to take down and I believe she has only been taken to the mat once in her career in her first fight from what I heard from the reviews before the pre-press conference happening soon.
Maybe wait until the weigh-ins to see how Namajunas looks putting on that extra weight and if she looks any stronger. Which I have doubts she will.

There has been two fights on the card that have been changed. One earlier in the week and the other today:
Taylor Lapilus vs Muin Gafurov(had to withdraw due to visa issues) replaced with Caolan Loughran
Lucas Almeida vs William Gomis(withdrawn due to medical issues) replaced with Yanis Ghemmouri

Sportsbet MOTD Special has won twice in a row now. So ralle14 is on a roll with his predictions!
Don't want to miss this one with Ajax as they are very strong side when it comes to these competitions.
Noticed there is a new one available on the ClubhouseTV market as well for the sponsored team Newcastle United.
So some might want to check out this one too.

The match is over Inter Miami 0 - 0 Nashville who bet for Inter Miami? 70% ball possession didn't change anything the final result is not as expected
We're not saying it's bad maybe just unlucky Inter Miami have done what they can it's just that Nashville defense is too sturdy
Inter Miami has 11 matches left and is still in 2nd place from the bottom. Inter Miami has 11 matches left and is still in 2nd place from the bottom.
This was a dull performance from Inter Miami since Messi joined the club earlier last month.
I watched every game from his debut and him not scoring was surprising because Lionel scored in each and every match played with them since signing on.
But they are still unbeaten with this draw so this is an accomplishment from a team which was dead last before this run since league cup championship.
There was another team who had broke their 13 game winless streak last night with Toronto FC winning 3-1 against Philadelphia Union.
I think this team is in need of a player like Messi to give them a resurgence as he had done with Inter Miami.

Following Japan, another Asian team secured their first victory in the FIBA World Cup.

China outplays Angola to nail 1st FIBA World Cup win

Quote
MANILA, Philippines -- China used a furious second half to pull away from a Jekyll-and-Hyde Angola team as they notched their first win in the FIBA World Cup, 83-76, Thursday at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.

With this, they are the second Asian country to win a game at the basketball meet.

Congratulations to China for defeating Angola. Now, I have doubts about whether the Philippines can truly win against South Sudan tonight, considering that South Sudan defeated China by a significant margin, and yet China managed to beat Angola—a team that had previously defeated the Philippines.
Caught the last quarter of this match and since China didn't have a victory before this match. They atleast got one before bowing out of the tournament.
I bet on the following matches today with Japan being the heavy favorites according to their very low odds.
I took the -10.5 pts handicap instead.
Also since it is the other host nations last match, don't think they won't put up a competitive match. So I went with the total of the match going over 162.5pts.
Which I found quite low considering having showed they can come from behind.
So they do have that fighting spirit in not just giving up also they would want to show the home crowd they will not just lay down and die even if they know their hopes have evaporated in this tournament already.

Who can replace Sainz right now ? I mean , sure , Ferrari will leave Sainz from next year , but who could join ? I don't see Ferrari taking another young driver just to let him go after 2 years again. In my opinion , they should let Sainz to finish his contract but on the same time Ferrari should be able to provide a decent car for both of their drivers because no matter what driver you put in that Ferrari right now , none of them will do great Sad. The more we look at Ferrari the more we can see that they have real internal problems that fans and media don't know about them.

It's still hard to say who will replace Sainz, Ferrari won't take on a top driver in the current situation just to have driven a Ferrari once. At the moment Sainz and Leclerc still have a contract until the end of 2024, I don't think Hamilton will drive his last two years in a Ferrari, the car doesn't meet his expectations and Sainz would have to be paid a lot.

So it's going to be difficult for Ferrari to get a good driver, Perez doesn't have a contract for 2024 yet, but there's no reason for either of them to do that. First and foremost, the Ferrari team needs to improve internally in all areas.
Especially with their pitstops.
I remembered briefly while watching the race over this past weekend seeing the mishap by the pit crew forgetting what they were doing out there. Causing Leclerc not get his tyres on his car in time.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m5WGWXqoVNA
This was the extended version showing exactly what happened.
That is unacceptable for any team in the F1 to do. They have faster tyre changes during practice let alone during a live race.
You really can't blame the drivers for all the errors the Ferrari team has done to themselves this season.

Namajunas is known as a thug for a reason so you just can't fade her being away for an extended length of time. Her form is timeless and the training she has done makes diamonds from glass.
Just watch this mini film I just found of when she was going up against Joanna:

Actually my favorite fight of hers was when she fought Michelle Waterson-Gomez back in 2017 remember the Karate hottie:

Saudi Arabian football federation is making wave in the sport. They are experiencing a major upgrade and boost this year, they had a plan and target when they decided to sign Christiano Ronaldo  and ever since they have been having sucess in signing big names. They can now influence even the best players in the world to Join them now coaches too, I am really impressed by how quick they have turned their football league and business around no doubts having Roberto Mancini is a major boost.
From a business point of view this is good for Saudi Arabia as their league is in the spotlight of the world, but there are times when football no longer sees fairness in buying some players and in the end it is just a question of money. Of course not all players were bought at fantastic prices when they joined the club there and only a few big names got extraordinary value. What Saudi Arabia is doing will definitely have an impact on the football industry and we will be presented with whoever has the most money, they are in power.

Regardless of the future of football and the great hopes for the younger generation of sports lovers, especially football in Saudi Arabia and the presence of several world football stars can spur their enthusiasm to redeem European football. Now they have a different spirit with the presence of some of the world's top players and the world's view of Saudi Arabian football will definitely change in the end.
The Arab Football Federation is ambitious to "overthrow European football."They attract a series of big stars in this summer transfer window. After the presence of Cristiano Ronaldo is a series of famous names. I heard they are planning to buy Liverpool striker Salah. The Salah deal, if it takes place for a fee of 150 million euros, will set a new transfer record in the history of Saudi football. Salah is also promised a higher salary than Ronaldo. This is just the beginning. Arab Football Federation will surely attract more famous players from Europe as they are not as restrictive as the European Football Federation's Financial Fair Play law. With financial potential, they can easily attract prominent players. Toppling the dominance of European football is only a matter of time.
Heard of this transfer while watching a livefeed of the last Liverpool match and hadn't heard of before that.
So didn't take too much concern about it until I did a search of any news and seen this headline from a few hours ago:
"Mo Salah ‘likely’ to leave Liverpool ‘this week’ as Liverpool are told £25m ‘would be accepted’ for replacement"
source: https://www.football365.com/news/liverpool-salah-transfer-likely-al-ittihad-bakayoko-replacement

But this salary seems to be more closer to what was mentioned here for a full transfer fee instead of replacement:
https://www.cbssports.com/soccer/news/mohamed-salah-to-al-ittihad-saudi-club-prepare-162-million-bid-in-attempt-to-persuade-liverpool-to-sell
They have until Friday to make this deal happen before European transfers are closed as I believe the transfer window closes on the 20th next month for the Egyptian league.

Since X has implemented content creator ad revenue sharing last month it was inevitable they were going to need a payment structure for how they were going to pay those users.
https://techcrunch.com/2023/07/13/twitter-starts-sharing-ad-revenue-with-verified-creators

So the obvious choice was going to be cryptocurrency payments with the simplicity of dealing with multiple transactions all at once.

"Notably, Rhode Island approved a requested license by Twitter Payments LLC — X’s payment branch — on August 28, according to data from NMLS. The “Currency Transmitter” license also includes different crypto-related service providers, such as crypto exchanges, wallets, and payment processors."

Some good news today which sent cryptocurrency markets into a frenzy.
https://decrypt.co/154119/grayscale-wins-appeal-against-sec-to-convert-bitcoin-trust-to-etf
Not sure why as it is not an approval yet.

"The SEC and Grayscale have 45 days to appeal Tuesday’s court decision. If that happens, the case could either be sent to the U.S. Supreme Court or be subject to an en banc panel review, where all of the court’s judges would weigh in during a rehearing."

But a win is a win while bitcoin's price was at $25,900 before this news was released then after $27,900 and keeping steady for the time being.

More match of the day promo.  Grin

I already placed my bet on Galatasaray's special @3.00. They're currently up by one goal after the first leg and should overpower Molde.

Molde doesn't look that solid on the road, so Galatasaray should be able to score at least two and hope Icardi gets one of the two.  Wink

Nice win for the match of the day special @3.00x you managed to grab @ralle14 !

Tuned in right when Icardi was stepping up to take the penalty at the 6 minute mark at the beginning of the match. Luckly they scored at the 3 minute into injury time to take the victory scoring their 2 goal required for the Sportsbet Special to hit nicely!

@YuginKadoya Nice lengthy line-up for the Wnba action to keep continuing on for tonight.
Watched the tail end of the Aces vs Liberty match last night and surprised that was their second loss after winning so many games. They were down by so many points in the last quarter and seeing the final score they were battling back just like the Philippines did in their FIBA match against Italy.
1097  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UFC Fight Night & Main Event: Sportsbet.io Predictions & discussion on: August 29, 2023, 09:28:02 PM
Just watched the fight between Manon Fiorot and Tabatha Ricci and she does have punching power. That was two years ago but that kind of skill just doesn't go away and she has only one loss on her record.
Was a Rose Namajunas fan for quite awhile but that was before her last fight against Carla Esparza which took the wind out of her sails.
Don't know if it was her suffering exhaustion physically but she just didn't move in that fight for what she was known for in the past.
This one I am looking forward to see if Rose can come out of these problems and return to the old Namajunas we all have witnessed in those amazing fights such as @jakelyson has mentioned against the current champion Zhang Weili.

Gane vs Spivac should be a grappling matchup and see it either ending in a submission or a decision.

Just by comparing their MMA records, it appears Spivac does have the advantage but it's not what the bookmakers are seeing. Gane is their favorite which I agree also despite how humiliating his performance with against Jones. Gane will still be using his reach advantage and he is still faster in my belief.

Fiorot has impressive KO power for a woman but I bet Namajunas will still submit her. She must have found it amusing to see Zhang whom she had beaten twice now hold the belt she won and defended many times. I think she is up to getting it from Zhang for the 3rd time.
Same with me. Jones just embarrassed Gane and him sitting on the mat in disbelief of what happened afterwards can't leave the minds of fans no matter how long ago the fight was.
I will be going with Spivac due to the last time I saw him fight he was dominate and prepared as a fighter should be.
About Rose, I don't know if she could come back from such a bad performance in her last fight.
They basically didn't do much and if we get that same fight in the Fiorot fight, then I think she has just lost the passion to fight anymore.
