10801  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Marketplace (Altcoins) / Re: What's a list of your most used/trusted exchanges? on: November 21, 2017, 04:02:49 PM
Funny to see some names here listed as trusted. Everything is trusted until they suddenly pull a surprise on you:
1. Unprocessed withdrawals.
2. Unanswered support messages.
3. Account locks.
4. Extra verificaton required.

Seems only small traders with insignificant volumes have nothing happening to them, but woe if you make profits and wish to cash out.

Centralized exchanges, let's make them a bad memory and start moving to decentralized exchanges!

Come on, Waves!
10802  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Which all are the good coins for day to day trading on: November 21, 2017, 03:37:39 PM
Just a word of warning: altcoin and crypto trading is very, very different from other commodities. If you already trade forex and futures, for example, of course the learning curve is lower, but a lot of people get surprised by the extreme volatility of crypto trading.

On the other hand, this volatility is what makes crypto so suitable for day to day trading, which is what you seek. Great potential for daily profits, but also great potential for losses.

For a start: take a look at coinmarketcap markets. This will show you the biggest volumes of the top alts, and where the trading happens. Good luck and enjoy yourself!
10803  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][ICO] The first in a new generation of fully legal ICOs Jus Naturale on: November 21, 2017, 09:22:56 AM
I read now so many ICOs that are claiming to be the first to be legal. But I think this is a mix up. ICOs are neither legal nor illegal at best. It cannot be legal is there currently exists no law or organization that governs it. The best they can hope for is to NOT break any laws.

Anyway, my opinion is that the info on this project sounds a bit too vague to me. Thankfully, though, they did not label their tech document a whitepaper. I think there are too many whitepapers floating around with no basis, just confusing jargon.

Surprising is how no one is registering for free airdrops?
10804  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: POWR (Power Ledger) speculation on: November 20, 2017, 08:19:08 PM
We need to talk about POWR...  Grin

I assume it's got everbodys attention since it's THE altcoin/token with the most in your face real world connection (maybe apart from XRP & BTC).  They signed deals with one of the biggest energy companies in Australia.  They're heading for India for the same reason.  The price went moon & beyond (ok, it will correct a bit for sure).

What do you think will be next?  $1?  $10?
Will it affect other projects in the same interest field like SNC? (which is doing fine too btw)
Is energy/solar-power/grid the next (first?) real world adoption of blockchain technology? (apart from being able to pay for pizza with BTC)

No we don't need to talk about it. I saw rumours and news swilling around this so called Palm Beach guys and I completely lost my appetite. It is not a new concept by the way, lots of countries are already running similar models with good track record. Maybe they should stick to Australia first but this idea of branching out to India isn't very wise in my opinion. India has a lot of problems, and diverting more attention to this takes away attention from the core issues than need to fundamentally change before they even talk about this kind of future tech.
10805  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero Speculation on: November 20, 2017, 05:46:53 PM
Satoshi had no idea what he was really doing as far as the cap is concerned.  He might just be picking numbers in his head and might have thought that a 21m cap might have been a good idea.  IMHO.

Actually, even Satoshi himself seems to have admitted that these numbers were more or less at best an educated guess that he picked. It was from those new emails recently uncovered. But that's all really pointless anyway, and everything someone says can always be taken out of context and used to fit the purposes that are at hand. Whether Satoshi did or not, it has it merits. And it has its flaws. There's no such thing as a perfect equation, statisticians can attest to that!

All opinions are humble!
10806  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: ETC to $21?! on: November 20, 2017, 05:30:08 PM
Maybe it will even drop to $2.1, who knows? I wonder who were these core original chain guys who decided to stick to Ethereum Classic? Can't say I've ever run into one of them my entire time on this forum. But the numbers are really strong, so it must have a significant community, and it surely must be growing. My only issue is not really too interested in getting a wallet that supports it, the ones I currently use don't.

And to think ETH itself was only $5 around this time last year, or was that even December?
10807  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: What Altcoins will reach $1000+ in the future? on: November 20, 2017, 04:06:46 PM
I think most people overlook the most important, the market cap, most of these coins will not hit $100 talkless of $1000. but I feel Ethereum and Dash are two potential for this new height

I have to agree here. Market cap is a terrible way to value a coin, but we can't ignore it when trying to estimate this kind of pricing. For coins to even reach $100 is a huge feat, so I would put it past those below $100 to even try and reach $300 or $500. Ethereum, Dash and even Zencash are then the ripe candidates. Bitcoin Cash already met this valuation (and a bit unfairly I would say) so that's out of the equation. I wouldn't ignore coins like Monero either, though a more realistic push is for $300 (and that's optimistic!).
10808  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Which privacy coins will moon in 2018? on: November 19, 2017, 08:07:10 PM
Monero for sure.It is the most used privacy coin till now and had taken down zcash. Also deeponion will share this position with monero. In 2018 monero will moon for sure

My leaning's with Monero as well, simply because I can only see XMR being accepted in places, unless Zen's the choice for markets and places I don't frequent. Zen's also had its spectacular run already, and has to still be overvalued in my opinion.

Deeponion? I'm not sure why you feel it will stand together with Monero. Even if we ignore all the news flying around Deeponion, even if they somehow prove to be FUD, it has got a LOT to prove.

Realistic moon for Monero is $300 in 2018, I'd say.
10809  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Where can we find the trustable icos ? on: November 19, 2017, 07:31:43 PM
You basically can't. To trust an ICO you either have to trust:

1. The development team and project management. Don't think that big names attached to ICOs will protect you here. These big guys earn money up front for advising and advertising and marketing the project. They have nothing to lose, everything to gain (ok maybe they have reputations to lose but people like Dan Larimer had a bad rep for Steemit and still did extremely well with Eos, right?

Hmm, actually that's it. If you can trust people, then you trust ICOs. If you can't... like me, then you simply don't trust any ICO.
10810  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why is the price of bitcoin so high on: November 19, 2017, 04:16:26 PM
because bitcoin is a real thing, you can give bitcoin or some portion of it and receive anything physical in return, from paying your check in a restaurant to buying real estate you can do with bitcoin.
but the same thing is not true for altcoins. they are always going to be virtual tokens which only get speculative demand.

because of this, the demand for bitcoin is mostly real and small part speculative. and that demand is rising.
also the supply of bitcoin (unlike most of the altcoins) is small and it also is limited (unlike many altcoins). less supply and rising demand means a huge price and a rising one.

there is currently around 16 million bitcoin available. go and compare this number with the number of coins available for other altcoins. you can use a website like coinmarketcap.com

Precisely said. Bitcoin has a price that is so high now, in your mind. It is almost twice as high in Zimbabwe, it is also very high in India and why? Simple expression of demand. When Bitcoin is scarce in these countries, of course people are willing to pay more for it.

And why Bitcoin? We all hear how Bitcoin Cash and other alts are cheaper faster and what not. Simple also. Bitcoin is the currency accepted everywhere for a growing number of things. You can buy real estate, pay bills, buy things, even pay taxes in Switzerland. What can you do with Bitcoin Cash and most alts right now?
10811  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: STRAT IS A SLEEPING GIANT ! on: November 19, 2017, 12:21:02 PM
Guys there are only a few topics devoted to STRAT. This project is only 1 year old but as far as I see it has huge potential with its upcoming smart contracts e.t.c.
What do you think of its potential long term? I think 2018 year will be strat year Cool

Quite a number of my coins in my alt portfolio are what I consider sleeping giants. All of them, including Stratis, have been "hurt" by the Bitcoin crazy climbs of 2017, but if we take a look at their dollar value, most have been holding really well in the face of the crypto boom/bust.

In fact, even 2018 sounds too early for these giants to wake up, although we can safely expect most of them to grow steadily, perhaps only doubling in dollar value by 2019, when their techs and products would have been given enough time to mature for adoption. Remember, one year isn't exactly long term!
10812  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: ICO guaranteeing Returns on: November 19, 2017, 11:50:09 AM
So, the background of the project developer is in marketing coaching or retail? Looks like an India-based project, which is rare. I can see why this would be a good foundation for a business (as opposed to just pure crypto developers in the dev team).

But then, this would only be okay if Obizcoin were just a pure project with only tokenized model and nothing else. But if this is actually a smart robot process as is expressed, then you actually need good devs and good coders, no?
10813  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ethereum haven't really moved.. on: November 18, 2017, 04:40:32 PM
Reason is so clear. People do not buy ethereum  Grin
Before we had to buy ethereum to invest in icos. But nowadays even an ico has an ethereum based token to sell, they accept many other payment methods, so we dont need to buy ethereum to join icos.

I too thought that Ethereum wasn't a buyer's coin, at least not since it moved away from $20 and kept going up. I think only miners are accumulating ETH now, and of course all those ICOs that accepted ETH mainly. Occasionally, I come across individual events that have made me rethink this. The first is the very few but prominent campaigns that are paying in ETH instead of Bitcoin. Yes, I know people say these are probably miners anyway or former ICOs just quietly launching new projects behind the scenes.

But I believe there are a growing number of companies now, especially those who plan on doing ICOs, that are buying up ETH with fiat, instead of Bitcoin. They feel it is more stable and can afford to pay people more "safely" on fiat basis, instead of being vulnerable to Bitcoin volatility.
10814  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Should I keep holding my NEO? on: November 18, 2017, 04:13:31 PM
I dont understand why you are still holding neo's. it is a quiet coin and has been used only to make some profit from the quick pump and dump that it had on the past.
The only good thing from NEO is that you are able to receive some GAS from it only for free, but you need more than ten thousand dollars worth of neo to make $20 a day at least.
It is a good coin, but i dont see any good news in that at all, maybe we should wait a little bit longer in order to receive some REAL good news about this coin.

You haven't followed the developments regarding regulations in China? If China is going to allow a regulated crypto market, then NEO has an advantage because the Chinese government considers NEO to be more compliant than other cryptocurrencies. There is still hope until they develop one of their own.

What did I tell you? NEO's price has increased by more than 50% since then.

NEO quiet? Neo has been anything but quiet, or have you forgotten the intense hype surround Red Pulse ICO? It had all the big news outlets pushing it, the big names in industry of crypto, and simply didn't let up on how Neo would be big, would be used by banks, etc.

And yes, they were very smart to implement the Gas system. This encouraged a lot of people to simply hold and earn gas. $20 a day from $10,000 is still 0.2% a day, and that's a LOT of interest in a sense.

Anyway, I doubt China will take on Neo more differently than others, I could be wrong of course but Chinese government isn't as corrupt and easily swayed as most people believe.
10815  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: ★★DigiByte|极特币★★[DGB]✔ DigiSync v6.14.2 - DigiSpeed - Segwit -DiguSign on: November 18, 2017, 10:23:54 AM
anybody know why this DGB always still go down ?
few month ago Iam bought DGB on price 1200 Satoshi but on this day price DGB just 124 Satoshi.
what can I do for my DGB ? Cut Loss or still holding on ?

wow, are you sitting in a -90% drawdown? I do not want to say anything, but I'm just wondering what you thought when you watched every day how your DGB is rapidly falling in price, and in parallel BTC issues X-files. Now then of course hold on to the victorious end, what is the point of giving away for nothing)

Wow, and I thought I was the one suffering heavy losses, including with Digibyte! What I was thinking when I bought at 160 satoshi: Amazing deals, it will surely go back to 300 for easy doubling. What I thought when it came down even more: Damn, what was I thinking?

But okay, funny side is over: those like us who bought into the project and its tech, we all had belief, didn't we? I still have that belief. Would never have sold even if I made 5x, since this is a long term hold like most of my alts.

But at -90% you really have no option, you might as well just hold. Risk losing the last bit of 10% for possibility to gain so much more. Hold strong, Asyifiah Wink
10816  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Gold (BTG) on: November 18, 2017, 10:03:55 AM
BTG scammed me into trusting MyBTGwallet to reclaim my BTG and they have now stolen my coins! Beware people

https://pbs.twimg.com/media/DO3y97LWkAIOm4I?format=jpg&name=large

Really sloppy on BTG side, but they aren't the ones scamming. The team is well intentioned IMO, just understaffed, bad communicators, and under-resourced. There has been a litany of attacks to try to kill the BTG project. I think best to stay away until the dust settles. There will be opportunity to claim into legit wallets (heard Trezor is working on support) soon.

I agree. I think Bitcoin Cash taught us to be patient, but Bitcoin Gold proved that a fork isn't as simple as some people would be led to believe. Now I don't think they are outright scammers, but they definitely aren't saints. They had a plan to make money (I mean, the premine is as clear as it gets) and they've done it. I do think maybe one or two had the ideology, but the rest are no different from the typical money grabbing mindset we've come to see with miners.

Stay away from now, yes. Let the drama settle, let angry people simmer. It's probably got a long shelf life, BTG.
10817  Economy / Gambling / Re: BITDICE - 🎲🎲🎲 TRANSFORMATION HAS BEGUN! CSNO TOKENS ADDED! 🎰🎰🎰 on: November 18, 2017, 08:35:19 AM
Who said BitDice doesn't listen, yeah? When everyone else is keeping or raising their withdrawal minimums, you get an even lower one at BD. Great update Alex, and looking forward to CSNO tokens moving up.

I think I saw someone else mention possible sportsbook soon, if that happens I might decide to learn about it. I have been reading a few of the discussions in gambling thread and don't know what the hell is going on, but it looks like there are plenty of tipsters with good records in there. Cheers to BitDice!
10818  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: BCH at 2000$. What you guys think? on: November 17, 2017, 04:53:43 PM
with the new difficulty change, i suspect that we will see another mining swing. and this will in turn effect the price in many ways
that said, for BCH to reach $2000, BTC must correct itself, but BTC is still growing, it was down over the last weekend but look at it now.
BCH is holding abve $1000 https://www.coingecko.com/en/price_charts/bitcoin-cash/usd which is a good thing, and great for all that still held bch
hold the bch, sure there is a chance to exit higher

Exactly. And with the mining pools finding blocks quicker than ever, they may have to consider another fork for the fork. Bitcoin corrected, and of course reached a new ATH but will benefit long term from this show of strength. Remember that some BCH is still lying around in exchanges that never credited them to user, so in way, the limited supply is manipulated as such.

I see BCH declining below $900 once the miners switch back yet again to Bitcoin. Hard to ignore the profits there at above $7k for too long.
10819  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Biggest investment oppertunity of this year / 2018 - SALT Lending on: November 17, 2017, 01:40:49 PM
SALT is indeed something special, they have done a shadowy ICO though which I really don't like. Even though the overall idea is great and we might see the price rocketing to 50 or 100, I think 100 is the minimum it will reach once the platform is operations, I evaluate that based on: You need one token to get a loan. Min loan is at about 10,000 and interest is about 10%, so how much would people be willing to pay to get a loan (how much above 10%?) I would say 11% for sure, which is 10,100 - 10,000 = 100$ / SALT, but it can easily go to 12 or 13% which would translate to 200-300$ respectively. The outlook is quite bright and even though they messed up their ICO and greedy distributions, I wish them all the best.

It had Erik Voorhees on the team among others, so I guess their definition of shady is a lot different than what most of us normal people here have. I think salt is a great idea too, but I don't know. This idea of P2P lending to me is like cloud mining. Great concept, wonderful theory. On paper, it seems almost guaranteed, with all kinds of ratings and measurements.

But then all of them eventually fail, and I worry salt will face problems down the road. It already showed that it got greedy. When things fall apart they'll just check out.
10820  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Waves future price on: November 17, 2017, 12:31:50 PM
the waves have an organic price increase with corrections as their idea and platform spread. about what competition with eth, if already now the waves have a high throughput of transactions per second. I'm not talking about a low commission compared to eth. then that Buterin was able to unleash his fork - it is his credit, but not a project in the whole. And there were no qualitative alternatives at that time. Unconditionally, eth will remain something like silver. but if you want to really earn by investing a small amount, then you need to look for projects like waves

Spot on about the recent hard fork for Ethereum. It was all credit to Buterin, not the the Ethereum community and developers. In fact, even the developers that he himself hand picked to join the alliance, some have opposed that hard fork and still are working on their own version (so yes, there is at least one qualitative alternative to the current forked version, just that Buterin didn't accept it).

Waves on the other hand is the one to slowly develop without a care to its price, which is why it has just been hovering at the same spot for months. That's actually a sure sign of stability if you ask me.
