Dave should know whether there were any $115,000 wire payments awaiting refund.

Concur! If Dave confirms, than I owe agath an apology, for I've read several Pastebin posts since Luke brought it to my attention.

10863  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: BTCFPGA - 115K Refund on: February 13, 2013, 03:48:59 AM
I am not a troll, and I am not Thomas. I am writing the truth, and who knows me can say it (#btcfpga on freenode). I don't need to prove it to you PG, you probably weren't even his customer.

Come on, be serious.

I am serious. And I wasn't a customer. And for sake of argument, let's say you don't have to prove it me, but you may have to prove it those who are still out a considerable amount of money. The reason being is that with your so called recent refund, you are giving those who are still waiting hope. The last guy who gave people hope when a scam was in progress received a scammer tag, for his hope package was in the form of a bet, and supposedly people honestly believe that because of that bet Pirate may pay. Agreements may have been altered due to that bet.

Likewise, with what you have presented, yet without proof, you are offering up the same hope.

You've stated you are in the EU. That would put you late in the evening when you posted the following:

Tom owes me more than $100K. I have a signed contract (which has not been respected) and I paid through a wire transfer. I live in EU.

Almost three hours later, and even later in the evening in EU, you posted:

I can't believe it.

I just received the wire transfer from Thomas on my bank account.

So he isn't a liar.

However he never showed me any evidence he would have done it. No bank orders, nothing at all. And he stopped answering all my emails.

I already alerted half the world for this.

Now I was about to go to sleep, when I checked the account, like a ritual (in these days I did it so many times...) and ... SURPRISE. The money is there.

So I apologize with Tom to have called him a liar. However his communication was really poor and I didn't have any clue about what was happening. It seems that the wire transfer took 2 weeks to arrive.

There is still hope that you will see your money refunded.

I will write it in a new topic, so it will be more visible to everyone.

You penned the above shortly after you received the email notification, but prior to going to sleep. Yet almost an hour later you're still awake reacting to my reply.

Secondly, you went the extra step to starting a new thread to post your refund, when probably the refund thread would have sufficed.

Given the above, coupled with your other mundane posts, wouldn't all this look suspicious to you? And I won't be the last person who'll call you out on this. I'm just the first.

One more thing. You have the misfortune of signing up exactly one day after Tom's account was proven to be compromised. https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=138206.0

Don't sugar coat it PG...tell us how you feel bud. Smiley

Bastard! I wasn't done jacking off yet.

agath is either a troll or Thomas Van Riper the money launderer.
10865  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: BTCFPGA - 115K Refund on: February 13, 2013, 02:26:42 AM
Thomas has finally sent his refund through a wire transfer.

It took 2 weeks to arrive, and there was a total lack of communication. Thomas didn't give me any evidence about the bank order, and I was thinking he lied. But I just checked on the account and it has arrived.

In his last email (3 february, I never received any other) he was stating that he is going to refund everyone, that he hasn't any bitcoin, but he was trying to buy them at the best price, and that it would have taken some time. These were his words, and at this time I could say he's really trying to refund everyone.

Don't lose your hope, probably Tom is not that bad guy that he tries to appear.

Quoted, in case mods or admins decide to delete it. I will now go and jack off, for I believe the above is a FUCKIN' LIE!
10866  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: A letter from Avalon on: February 13, 2013, 01:42:02 AM
Call me nuts, but the letter copy was too well written, perhaps penned to dwarf recent concerns. Now, I'm curious as to who wrote it, and if that person is part of Team Avalon or some paid entity.

Most of what has been written by the two top dawgs of Avalon, including their above par website, doesn't even come close to this quality copy.
10867  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: A letter from Avalon on: February 13, 2013, 12:33:29 AM
a Letter from the Avalon Team

The Avalon team would like to apologize, first and foremost, for the poor performance that you may have experienced during the sales of batch two of the Avalon units.

This type of incident has however, been accounted for and is within our expectations. As Bitcoin payment processors and merchant solutions are still a relatively young field, much like the Avalon project itself - issues such as these will, unfortunately, show themselves in a real world situation.

There's a saying: "Somebody had to be the first person to eat a crab."

Avalon has been bestowed with an unique opportunity to give several different Bitcoin payment processors a real world stress test: a DDoS-like shopping experience. We switch payment gateway and eCommerce solution each batch of orders to promote both decentralization and competition. In batch one, we worked closely with Paysius to hammer out its issues. This has not been any different with batch two and WalletBit. The lead developer of WalletBit, Kris, has been hard at work within the past several days, fixing the kind of issues that have only appeared from this type of real world situation.

This event and your brief inconvenience as Avalon customers right now will ensure that, in the future when a client ( who may not be technically-knowledgeable ) use these various Bitcoin payment processors and eCommerce solutions to accept Bitcoin for the first time, their experiences will be much more smooth and hassle-free.

"May they enjoy the coming delicious crabs."

A third purpose of this movement is to spread recognition and funding to those services that are less well known; we at Avalon however are not playing any favorites. BitPay, for example, has been chosen as the payment gateway for batch three long before they obtained investor funding. We believe that competition breeds innovation - much like what happened in the ASIC market - and we can not wait to see what new features will result from this process. We view Bitcoin merchant solutions and payment gateways as an important part of Bitcoin adoption.

Batch two situation

We have ultimately decided not to refund the 0.05-bitcoin partial orders that have resulted from a series of errors, and allowed customers to complete their transactions out of good faith as many used third party services where refunds were not possible. We would like to take this time to warn you not to use Bitcoin addresses that you do not own, including but not limited to the following: InstaWallet, exchanges such as MtGox and others.

The nature of Bitcoin makes it separate from human interference and devoid of an centralized architecture. If the order database has been incomplete or compromised, then a fail-safe could be utilized to refund every transaction to their original input address. By using third party systems such as the ones listed above however, you give up the control of your own coins, and you then run the risk of your refunds returning to their input addresses. This defeats the purpose of Bitcoin. You will also not be able to prove original ownership of these coins. Our terms of sale will be updated to reflect this before batch two re-opens for the remainder 300+ units.

We have also collected enough money for several parts with long lead times, and these are being ordered now. Consequently, our attention will be diverted to these parts for the moment, and once they and other higher-priority matter are addressed and done, we will then reopen order for batch two. We are currently not in a rush to collect money.

Support situation

The Avalon team is comprised of a small group of capable people; however, we are also extremely limited in manpower. Every one of us handles multitude of tasks, and for this reason we will have very limited customer support. This means that you will not hear from us regarding your order until the day prior of it being loaded onto a plane heading to your country of destination. No news is good news. We apologize for this, and we do not expect this situation to change until batch three is in its production to shipping stage.

Our number one focus right now and always have been delivery time; everything else is considered a secondary bonus. Avalon was turned from a idea into a physical working product in less than six month because of our devotion and focus, and we have received industry attention for it. Avalon do not intent to deviate from this even as we now face a greater amount of endeavors ahead, such as working on next-generation designs and scaling production upwards. All of these are happening in parallel with our current list of to-be-completed tasks.

tl;dr; We do not have a date for reopening orders on batch two.

Is it just me, or are there no grammatical errors in this excellently written copy? I believe this was not written by one of the top two Avalon guys, though believe it did come from their camp.

He's so high strung and can't even debate in a civilized fashion. If you disagree with him, he will just raise his voice and scream at you.

But enough about IamRawdoglet, how do you feel about Alex?
10870  Economy / Services / Re: Cheap Investigative Service on: February 12, 2013, 06:19:59 PM
But the fact is, this person didn't pay me extra, but out of principle, I won't repeat an investigation on someone for two different clients.
Corrent me, but doesn't this offer a simple method for a scammer to protect himself? The scammer creates a sockpuppet account and uses it to hire and pay you. He gets information about himself, which at a first glance is pretty useless for him, but from that point on you refuse to give this information to others, something that can be quite valueable.

Maybe someone will offer me a lot of money to find someone they want to hurt or have no business finding and I'll turn them down.
Maybe you should start a partnership with russian debt collectors, lol. I'm sure many won't ask for the details as long as they get their money back.

To be fair, the service being provided has been around long before the advent of Bitcoin, with literally 100's of them scattered across the US. The only thing different here is the accepting of bitcoins for payment and providing said service to the Bitcoiner niche. The service is even being provided at a discount for fellow bitcoiners. I'm sure that the utmost due diligence is preformed before conducting background checks, and sometimes a handful out of 1000's of requests having nefarious intent get through a crack.
10871  Other / Off-topic / Re: Is Pirate back in business? on: February 12, 2013, 05:19:33 PM
And let me guess--Thomas Van Riper is going to run a similar Craigslist ad in Texas, this one stemming from New York.

Using the timestamp (above) as to when the ad was placed, I'd say Pastor Tom's had a few too many, then after speaking with da Lord in Tongues, he penned the following:

i have been taking bitcoins and paying 7 percent on your investment every week
serious inquires only ive been in business for almost two years
minimum bitcoin investment is 3 bit coins
you can send them to this address15a6BzXmUotQvRabDbDiTgR54zAh2KK63E
sending more than 10 bitcoins will result in a 10 percent return per week and i will give back the initial investment if you are unhappy

There's a video on YT of a guy who sold one of kidneys...

So, looking from outside the box, by someone who doesn't know much about thermal dynamics ...

Why does the heat sync get to 50C?
If the chips aren't very hot, how can that whole big heat sync get hot?

i.e. if it's not the chips, then something else must be applying the heat to the heat sync to heat it up ...
What is this something else?

It's either that little red transistor in far corner or the power supply unit. My money's on the latter.
10874  Economy / Services / Re: Cheap Investigative Service on: February 12, 2013, 09:07:52 AM
1.7 BTC covers your price for the 2 reports. I'll pay it.
But only with the credit report. If you done it already for someone who didn't pay you only have some money to retrieve, not to lose.

1.7BTC is my offer for the comprehensive and credit reports.
Both or none.

There's a reason I can't get a credit report on that guy, it's not a matter of me not wanting to.

Do you want to tell us the reason you can't do a service you have listed, priced and someone is willing to pay, just because it involves a certain individual?

No actually I don't. But I'll say this... I have multiple clients. Sometimes things become a conflict of interest. That's all I'm prepared to say. I'm provided top service for people so far. Some things I will not do and won't get into specifics why. If that doesn't work for you, there are plenty of other investigators out there.

So, Trendon Shavers is your client and paid you more than any of us. Got it!

Not necessarily. Someone might have paid extra to have exclusive access to the information in order to have first crack at whatever money Trendon Shavers has left.

Thank you! Finally someone that gets it... kind of. Who that person is, I can't say, but look at it this way. If TS owes 10 people $10,000. each My client brings TS to small claims and places a lien on his property after getting a writ of exon from the court. When TS mortgages or sells his property, the lien is paid off. But what if I assist the 9 others with the information and they get the lien first. Well then the 10th person on the list needs to wait until all others have been paid before they get paid. And then if there's no money left over, the 10th person on the lien, ends up getting no money for all the effort.

But the fact is, this person didn't pay me extra, but out of principle, I won't repeat an investigation on someone for two different clients. Trendon Shavers is a big scam artist... that being said, I'm willing to give some details, but not all. First come, first serve. I'm still willing to help out and give some details, but the first person that requests, gets the most. I'm not going to throw a client under the bus, because I can make more money from the other people that want to find him. That would be really shitty of me and I'm not going to do it. Trendon has never contacted me and I don't care how much money that scumbag offered me, I still wouldn't take him on as a client. Fact of the matter is, I own my business. I can take on new clients and deny prospective clients as I see fit.

I don't need peoples rude remarks like "So, Trendon Shavers is your client and paid you more than any of us. Got it!". This is my business and I try to run it morally well, but sometimes there will be problems like this. If this creates a problem for people, don't use my service. But don't also start assuming shit and being rude about it when you have no idea what you're talking about. I'm not obligated to investigate someone because you offer me money.

So far, I don't believe (I could be wrong), that I have any unsatisfied clients. I work hard for all my clients, use the best tools at my disposal and manually verify all data I put on paper. Such as, calling all #'s found, investigating details with associates and relatives of the subject, calling the assessors office in various counties to verify the data I've found, etc. My clients are happy and I try to keep them happy (for future business). I can't and won't please everyone. Maybe someone will offer me a lot of money to find someone they want to hurt or have no business finding and I'll turn them down. Or maybe I'll do the search for them and then learn something about them and not take on any other business. But I absolutely will not throw one client under the bus, to make more money. I realize I am right now, but I don't have to give my reasons to you "Psy" about why I don't want to have you as a client. If I don't, just accept it and move on.

In closing, there are plenty of investigators out there. I'm very good at what I do and I believe I charge great rates for accurate data, but there are plenty of other investigators, possibly better than me that will do the job for you. So stop bitching about it and just contact someone else. This really shouldn't be a big deal that I won't provide requested details on someone. There's no reason to be rude about it. If you had just accepted it and moved on, I wouldn't mind taking you on as a client for searching someone else.

Can a Lien for a Personal Debt Be Placed Upon Mortgaged Property in Texas? (interesting read!)

Quote
A creditor on a personal debt can obtain a lien against a mortgaged property in Texas if the creditor follows the appropriate legal procedures. However, state law provides important protections for the mortgaged property, including placing significant restrictions on the enforcement of a lien against the mortgaged property, especially if the property is the debtor's primary personal residence.

FWIW, if anybody checks into my background, I want to be on record in saying that I thought them were my goats, and at night a billy resembles a doe. The case was dismissed due to the only witnesses being a rat, an owl, and a dozen sleeping chickens. And a spider.
10875  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: New Drama from BitcoinASIC on: February 12, 2013, 08:13:37 AM
From trusted bitcoin user to total smeghead. It is shocking how many old school bitcoin users who build up such a solid reputation become total losers and walk away.

And to think Tom Van Riper threw it all away for a measly quarter million dollars, not able to open up a bank or CC merchant account until the statue of limitations is up.

Given all the information available at the time, and if I was to pre-order ASIC powered mining rigs, the following would have been my trust level:

BFL
Tycho
Avalon

In that order, with no others on the list. Tom simply came across as too inept.

All,
I don't know. But I'm wondering if a new thread should be started to organize the victims of bASIC to collaborate on a legal course. For example, collectively search for a lawyer online, and invite him/her for consultation. Consultation would probably need to be at least over phone, but the use of a chat thread might be of help to consolidate information on exact complaint(s), kinds of evidence and any questions for the lawyer(s).  Some things might need to be held confidentially, in order to prevent Tom and any others from circumventing whatever evidence is discussed.

Perhaps, one or more of of us can represent the group. A collective fund could pay for said lawyer...etc...

Thoughts?
