10961  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Beware of so-called "anonymous" coins (XMR, SDC, AEON and DASH) on: September 05, 2016, 03:12:37 AM
If you believe that growth of any coin beside bitcoin can be called organic then you are a dreamer.

Bitcoin still does not have the "organic growth" we speak of. That is why it is currently impossible to do TA on BTC.

It's just that other currencies could be manipulated more easily.

I do not think this is correct. Is it not that technical analysis is a type of analysis that uses the movement of the price and volume as basis? Where does organic growth come in in technical analysis? The reason why some people use technical analysis is because they do not believe in fundamental analysis where "organic growth" is supposed to belong. In technical analysis the traders make money from the inefficiencies of the market and the irrationality of the newbies which is a lot in cryptocoins.
10962  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Which coin today has the superior technology? on: September 05, 2016, 02:46:01 AM
Is this just in regard to anon features? I would say Bay and sys are quite advanced in many ways.
I have no idea who's anon features are best. Only a few people here can give you the correct answer and understand exactly why that is. Perhaps ask anonymint specifically or smooth. Is zcash out yet?

You mean the same Bay that was created by David Zimbeck? Was it not mired in controversy because of his association with cryptocoin scammers?

I would like to know more about SYS. Please point us to the right direction by posting links and more information. I do not like to search here because there is many FUD and misinformation ongoing about different coins. Look at what happened to XMR. Many people missed the train because they thought it was only a scam coin. They were misinformed.
10963  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What will be the next $1 Billion Blockchain? on: September 05, 2016, 02:30:57 AM
@tyz. How is the development in IOTA? I heard there is no release and the development is really slow. It would be nice to be updated officially on where they are and what they are up to.
10964  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: The battle over online privacy (Dash / Monero / Zcash) on: September 04, 2016, 12:30:49 PM
can't they all coexist?

My opinion is they can but they won't. Cheesy It also better if developers compete with each other so they can improve their coins much faster and come up with the best open source technology for everyone to use in the cryprosphere. Also the drama is very entertaining. Grin
10965  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: DASH Collapsing Monero UP on: September 04, 2016, 12:07:40 PM
Now that monero has surpassed Dash in marketcap and price...what do those who support dash say now?

At one point it was "lack of gui" is why monero is priced lower. Now what?

The justification sometimes surprises me.

Is it now that monero is "too private"?

#movingtarget

There is the argument arising that the view key feature of Monero could be a liability. I am curious if you are caught by the authorities, can a court order force you to use it and show your XMR transactions? If it can why not get rid of thr view key feature? What is the reason why it is there?
10966  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: ETC / ETH - Technical Trading and Analysis on: September 04, 2016, 12:01:12 PM
I speculate that the "strong support" of ETH will break sooner or later. BTC is rising again and if ETH fiat price stays the same it will go down in value against bitcoin. People are starting to dump their altcoins to hold bitcoin again.
10967  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Beware of so-called "anonymous" coins (XMR, SDC, AEON and DASH) on: September 04, 2016, 10:13:24 AM
Op is flawed saying that monero's price growth is purely speculation.

At least some of the price rise is due to actual vendors accepting it for payment.

I do not think the growth will be purely from speculation in the long term but you have to admit the price rise is indeed too fast. That movement is mostly from the traders and speculators buying and selling. If there is actual vendors accepting XMR now, will the volume be in the millions right away? Maybe it will but I would like to see that if it was possible to see it in a block explorer.

For me the merchants in the darknet have not reached transactions in the millions yet per day because XMR is fairly new. In a year I will not be surprised if it is.
10968  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Which coin today has the superior technology? on: September 04, 2016, 10:05:03 AM

I've read earlier than SDC is superior than XMR, i don't really understood how true this is but this means that if I have to invest for the anonymity, I would rather go to SDC than Monero right?

Anybody can you share which coin has the superiority among the rest and why please?

I do not know if it is still the case but I have read that SDC is "broken". So how can that be superior?

For me what is more superior is zcash. But they have to find a solution about the "trusted set up" problem. Well it is not really a problem. It just cannot be trusted and that will make it a problem in the future.
10969  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: We missed the ETH train on: September 04, 2016, 10:00:46 AM
It wouldn't be done because that would actually break the "immutability", all the transactions would be rolled back. DAO case was a special case with ETH locked away for 1 month.
@dinofelis you're not worth reading, sorry for your effort.

Yes. The DAO was treated as a special case. Now the other start ups could ask the same question. What made the DAO a special case? How can the others be treated in the same why? It is not fair. Vitalik started a problem that he cannot fix. The only fix for it is for him to step down and disband the Ethereum Foundation.

That will not fix anything. ETH can't just give up after all, its still one of the most used token up to now. ETH had allready overcome all attacks including that etc which turned just hype and will soon shutdown. ETH price is still better than what are xpected to rise. Once the bugs are fixed, expct to earn profit.

It will also not give Ethereum the confidence of the start ups and companies to start making dapps in the platform. This is mainly because of the roll back of transactions. Vitalik broke the most sacred rule of blockchains.
10970  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ethereum: Good alt or stay away? on: September 04, 2016, 09:55:31 AM
@Bokelka. Be careful with ETH. The whole altcoin market have started to go down except for a selected few. I do not think ETH will be spared from the bear market in the cryptosphere. People will start converting and holding BTC because it is now starting to be bought up again.
10971  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: ETH = Game Over on: September 04, 2016, 09:48:22 AM
I'm giving ETH the advantage of doubt now. I haven't invested new money into it for a while, but in fact I'm still making good enough profit for me with trading the ETH that I already have. I wouldn't base a long-term plan on it, but I wouldn't just sell all my ETH at once either.

Your life is pretty good if you use the ETH as one place to invest (trading), and I think that ETH will not be game over. Because the ETH has its own uniqueness and they also have a foundation strong enough to survive in the market altcoin. So if you still doubt, then you can use the ETH for short term

Yeah, let's talk about ETH as if it were living in a vacuum, and this little diluting coin, called ETC, did not exist.   Roll Eyes Roll Eyes

That is an interesting idea thinking of ETC of diluting ETH and making the price go down. There is some truth in that comment only because ETH can be split and the user can receive an equivalent amount of ETC. But what would happen if they fix it and let the two chains diverge. Would you still view ETC as a dilution of ETH?
10972  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: FreeBazaar - OpenBazaar with Monero on: September 04, 2016, 09:38:35 AM

That is funny! Grin

The recent development of Monero and price rise should motivate Atrides to speed things up with Freebazaar. This could be the next frontier for darknet market merchants to sell their items. Maybe running it behind Tor or IPFS might be a good idea.
10973  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][LSK] Lisk | Blockchain Application Platform for JavaScript Developers on: September 04, 2016, 03:05:22 AM
I'm glad I sold my 16,000 LSK from the ico plus early adopter bonuses about 2 months ago.
I will buy back 10,000 LSK once it gets cheaper in price.

me too, this project is a fucking trainwreck

Will we be seeing more angry guy pictures from you starting today? Cheesy It is good not to buy and hold LSK right now, it is too unstable. But if I get the opportunity to buy below 30k satoshis I might take it. That is the safest level to buy.
10974  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: LISK price speculation on: September 04, 2016, 02:28:24 AM
@digicoin. I was under the impression that each sidechain was a blockchain and not a database. So maybe it will be stable after all. But it is not going to be what I had in mind. It may be that the Lisk development team sacrificed decentralization with stability. The first sign of this was the decision to use DPOS. There was a time when I was lurking the reddit of bitshares that I came across a post of Vitalik and Bytemaster talking by the sidewalk. Could it be that Vitalik was thinking about using DPOS at one point in Ethereum's development?
10975  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What will be the next $1 Billion Blockchain? on: September 04, 2016, 02:17:31 AM
@X7. It has only been a few months. You should give it some time to develop more. I believe Ethereum did the same thing and all it released at first was the frontier release without a gui. Cheesy The price also went down to $.45 per ETH. That was considered a gift from most people and the jumped at the opportunity to buy a lot. Look where it is now.
10976  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: The battle over online privacy (Dash / Monero / Zcash) on: September 04, 2016, 01:20:52 AM
You forgot to mention
VCASH
ZCASH isn't finished, Monero and DASH have bad limitations.

It is very easy to say that this or that is "limited" without first explaining how vcash's chain blender anonymizes its transactions. If you can give us a simple lay man's term explanation, that will be appreciated. Then we could all start discussing vcash and its comparison with the rest.
10977  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Beware of so-called "anonymous" coins (XMR, SDC, AEON and DASH) on: September 04, 2016, 01:15:41 AM
It is clear that these prices are not sustainable and are a major bubble and manipulation by big holders. The reason it can take of the way it does is mainly because what people have seen happen to many other coins recently after the volume increases.

The people are just jumping on board of the train and will jump off the second it looks like it will start to decline again.

I still think these "anonymous" coins are pure marketing trick and will never gain mainstream adoptation purely because they are anonymous.

Are you saying that fungibility is overrated in cryptocoins? While I also think that anonymous coins will not replace bitcoin, they are an important part of the cryptosphere. They must be part of the foundation that makes it stand. If there was a decentralized exchange connecting XMR and BTC in between then this would be a perfect solution than using bitcoin tumblers. You can use XMR if you want anonymous transactions and use BTC as your "bank" at the same time. They can coexist. Who said there can only be one?
10978  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What will be the next $1 Billion Blockchain? on: September 04, 2016, 01:07:54 AM
@yelllowsin. The Monero development team will argue with you on that one and at the same time the vcash development team will argue with the Monero supporters for their choice. As an innocent bystander, how will I know who is telling the truth. My technical understanding of cryptography and programming is very limited. I do not understand most of it in fact. The people who are qualified to comment here are very quiet except for iamnotback. I wish he will comment with this issue. Or maybe he already has so it might be good to check his post history.

I see that this poll has many vcash that voted. Are there many silent vcash supporters here?
10979  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Best Altcoin to invest in for 2016 and WHY on: September 04, 2016, 01:03:23 AM
2016 is almost over. What for you is the coin that has risen very high? There are only 2 coins that I have seen that made real big jumps. ETH and XMR. Please name other coins that have made real rise in value in terms of market capitalization.
10980  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: ETC = Most obvious way to double your money right now on: September 04, 2016, 12:47:33 AM
I think in the long term, or sooner or later, whatever you want to call it.. ETC will pump hard, but right now XMR seems to be getting all the action. Whales love to pump this thing to the moon.

We both agree that a pump will arrive on ETC's doorstep. But the I have a more important question. Do you think ETC will be the one to bring smart contracts and dapps to the masses? Pumps always come to any coin but real value comes to the platform that has a growing no. users and supporters. Do you really think that platform will be Ethereum classic? Please explain.
