1102  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why people are holding Bitcoin? on: July 16, 2017, 11:28:03 AM
A lot of people can see the bigger picture. Bitcoin is still virtually unknown to many people globally. Go around a bit and ask people if they know

what Bitcoin is and see what responses you get. People in first world countries will know a bit more about it, but most people in third world

countries will have no clue. What happens when these people learn about Bitcoin and what will happen if Bitcoin can scale to handle global

adoption? There is still massive potential and growth... and the price will skyrocket when that happens.  Wink

This is the kind of future that I can see for Bitcoin... despite the price fluctuations it has right now, I can still feel that the its price will get a lot higher in the future. Just by assessing how massive the price hike it experienced the past years, I feel like its going to continue in the upcoming years. Slowly, its getting even more popular so there will be more users..
1103  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Do Altcoins really have a future? on: July 15, 2017, 01:33:46 PM
Way back, Bitcoin may have started out like this before it became such a strong currency. As said by the other people here, ETC seems to be advancing and getting stronger over time so there is a possibility for it to have more users in the future. Some of the other altcoins have better advantages than Bitcoins so some cryptocurrency users may opt to use it over Bitcoin. It is then very likely for altcoins to still exist in the future.
1104  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Best places in SE Asia to spend Bitcoin? on: July 15, 2017, 05:50:00 AM
Just recently, Bitcoin has been legitimized as a payment system in the Philippines. However, Bitcoin is not yet accepted as payment method in the hotels, bars, shops etc. there so I suggest to just exchange first your Bitcoin to fiat if you plan on visiting there. It's fairly cheap there so you'd be able to buy and spend a lot even if there are no Bitcoin accepting establishments yet. If you plan to visit the Philippines, don't miss out on their beaches and as suggested by the others, go to Palawan!
1105  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why do males make up 97% of the Bitcoin community? on: July 12, 2017, 12:50:59 PM
Interesting statistics! If this were the case, it is possible that more males engage in the Bitcoin community primarily because they are more interested in earning money? There are females who interest on earning money but perhaps Bitcoin does not interest them. Bitcoin takes some time to learn and use, and this kind of business may have made females skeptical and has discouraged them in using it. Anyway, I don't think a single cryptocurrency or financial system is sexist. This could only be coincidental.
1106  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin is instant way to get rich ? on: July 11, 2017, 04:26:32 PM
I think that there is no instant or easy way to get rich. Even if people who had bitcoin way way back before it got slightly popular, its still not instant because it took time from then to now when they can sell it a high price. However, there are a lot of ways to earn via Bitcoin and it is very profitable, especially since the rates are getting higher over time. It really takes time and effort to attain wealth.
1107  Economy / Economics / Re: So, you want to be rich? All of you ? on: July 10, 2017, 11:13:03 PM
The reality of life is that we can't all be rich. However we want to have an equal distribution of wealth, there's just so much divisiveness wherever we go. Although there's plenty of wealth to be shared, but if you are among the top 100 richest persons in the world, are you willing to distribute 95% of your assets to people whom you are not sure can make those assets grow? Life continues to be unfair because only a few get to own most of the world's wealth while the rest continue to live lives full of struggles.

I agree with this although that it saddens me that this is the harsh reality of our society. No matter how hard we try to fight for equalism, the structure of our society dictates the distribution of wealth. We continuously fight for equality yet life is still unfair even if its already the 21st century. The cycle goes on and on, and everyone needs to work hard and strive to survive. The caveman age has passed yet its still the survival of the fittest.
1108  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How to earn Bitcoin without investment on: July 10, 2017, 12:11:09 PM
Having an investment would definitely hasten the process of earning Bitcoin, but there are still a lot ways to earn despite not having any investment. You can check out BTC faucets and PTC ads sites but you only get to earn very meager income here. A good way is through selling goods/services or doing freelance projects. Or you could try joining a signature campaign in a forum like this as said by the other people.
1109  Other / Off-topic / Re: What is more profitable: a gambling site or a dating site? on: July 09, 2017, 02:26:23 PM
I think that people would be more interested to use dating sites and you would probably get a larger audience because not all people gamble. But a gambling site may be more profitable than a dating site because people would shell out more money there. Also, people would spend bigger amounts compared to dating sites where you could probably just profit from subscriptions.
1110  Economy / Speculation / Re: Is it too late to buy bitcoin? on: July 09, 2017, 02:11:37 PM
No, I don't think that its too late. Bitcoin may be higher than it was before yes, but it is expected to become even higher regardless of the outcome of August 1. With regards to the Bitcoin price on the said event, it has been rumored that the price may go down and people may become scared. It is hard to forecast and people never really know when the price will go up or down. I suggest to but Bitcoin asap so that you can keep it for long term.
1111  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Can cryptocurrency make real money disappear? on: July 09, 2017, 02:13:27 AM
Way back before when fiat money did not exist, people used gold as a payment system. However it was hard to carry and hard to quantify as well. So when fiat money came along, they adopted it because of its convenience of use. Its possible in the future that a time will come that technology and internet will be accessible to all, and when this time comes the governments can regulate Bitcoin for better use. But like gold, I don't think fiat money will disappear.
1112  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: What do government regulations REALLY mean for Bitcoin? on: July 09, 2017, 01:56:50 AM
The attractiveness of BTC is the transparency.  It is relatively terrifying to understand that practically any observations of BTC's regulation are producing unnecessary terror within the BTC users. Rules and regulations are in access and the users will do best not to panic. It doesn't take to by that way.

I agree with this because most people probably don't know the extent of regulations that's why they are scared. People like the idea that no one controls Bitcoin so the idea of having regulations terrifies some users because they don't want the constraint. An advantage of Bitcoin that most users love is that its free from taxes, and regulations would take it away. Its best to learn and know about the scope of having laws and regulations for Bitcoin because there are both advantages and disadvantages to it.
1113  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 10 main mistakes of Bitcoin newbies on: July 08, 2017, 12:43:31 PM
How to secure your address and other accounts should be added here. Security is one of the main problem that I've encountered as a newbie. Last month I've lost a handful of coins when my wallet was breached/hacked because lack of security and knowledge. Second thing is how to detect/know if a website you're entering is not a scam/phising site. I've been also a victim of phising sites so always be careful on opening links everywhere.

Thanks for this because I have never thought of securing my address! The article is was really insightful as well. I learned most of what I know about Bitcoin from various sources and this article had the basics. I wish I read this before I started on Bitcoin, but at least now I know. I hope to be wiser on my Bitcoin choices and investments.
1114  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin as a source of income? on: July 06, 2017, 11:13:35 AM
There are a lot of ways to earn Bitcoin. You can currently find a lot of job opportunities online to earn Bitcoin. There are some sites that provide and search for translators, graphic designers, tutors, and other freelance jobs and projects that pay you Bitcoin which allow you to work in the comfort of your homes. Some jobs require you to spend a lot of time which makes some people leave their jobs and focus on the Bitcoin job maybe because the pay is higher. Another is, Bitcoin is increasing so it is better to earn it. Signature campaigns in this forum hire campaign managers so you can look into that.
1115  Economy / Services / Re: DIMCOIN Signature Campaign on: July 06, 2017, 01:25:03 AM
I hope to be a part of this campaign!

1116  Other / Off-topic / Re: Would you give bitcoin as a wedding gift? on: July 05, 2017, 07:17:07 AM
I've never considered giving out money as a gift for weddings, except maybe vouchers or gift certificates that I think would be suitable or may be useful for the couple. But I've never given money in itself as a gift, or have considered it before so I probably won't do the same for Bitcoin. Unless I would like to introduce Bitcoin to the couple, and giving it as a gift would be handy for them, then I probably would?
1117  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: What are the main Bitcoin scams and how do you protect yourself against them? on: July 04, 2017, 05:41:44 AM

The best way one can protect himself best from scams related to bitcoin, is to learn from experience which I have had my own share of where I needed to convert the little coins I have gotten to cash but ended up in the hads of a scammer who used delay tactics on me but I was still immature then. But now, I just don't deal with anybody anyhow. I have a list of trusted guys to help with that and even before transacting I do a lot of ground work confirming nothing has changed since our last transaction.

I have never been scammed before but ever since I joined this site, I learned about ponzi, HYPI(?) and other altcoins that are scams, and because of this knowledge I was able to avoid scams. I've read somewhere on this forum that you shouldn't deal with newbies. Not to discriminate but it is highly possible for them to trick you.

I always look out for red flags and research first before engaging on something. Thankfully, I've never been scammed or lost any money online. Just always be on the lookout!
1118  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin heading to $4,000 on: July 04, 2017, 05:16:41 AM
How can you tell? How were you able to predict this? Anyway, its not that I'm complaining. This is actually really good and is favorable to us bitcoin users, especially for the old ones. The bitcoin price has been fluctuating but based on this, I can invest it in the hopes of its price to increase even more. Despite with what's about to happen on August 1, I hope this would be the outcome in the future
1119  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 10 main mistakes of Bitcoin newbies on: July 03, 2017, 11:06:23 PM
Wow, thanks for this article! Really helped me as a newbie. I think that others, even old users of cryptocurrency/Bitcoin can still use this article and learn from it. Thank you for adding to my knowledge on Bitcoin. I hope to be able to use it wisely. I'm still constantly learning because I wish to invest on Bitcoin someday so I want to fully understand it. Kudos!
1120  Economy / Economics / Re: Tell me your predictions about Bitcoin on: July 03, 2017, 03:21:01 PM
From what I see, Bitcoin will be widespread in the future. Since more and more establishments start to accept it as a payment system, it is possible for Bitcoin to become mainstream. It could be likely that there would be an increase of users of Bitcoin in the following years. Its really hard to predict, but this is just an assumption that I have made based on observations.
