I would suggest one vote per IP address. I am a systems administrator by trade and could conceivably vote for many IP addresses but I would not. I don’t think very many in my position would either. I don’t think that multiple voters behind the same firewall would be much of an issue either. To me this seems a better solution to 1 NXT – 1 vote.

What about wallets behind the router?

Oh no, VS again. And global warming in addition. Where this thread will go in future? UFO? Smiley

does anybody know what time the miami show will be on live? Would it be possible for somebody that is in Miami but not on stage to post to the thread any questions that are being asked that help is needed with?

With the entire NXT community on tap, I doubt there will be any question that couldn't be quickly answered outside of in depth crypto algorithm or TF part 2 and 3.

Not sure if there will be enough time to relay the question and answer back and forth, but if the format of the show can accomodate even a minute or two from question, maybe we can get a preview of what will be asked? Just by 2 minutes?

James

Maybe it is possible to use AM for this purpose and rebroadcast some summary of them here in this thread? It will be some kind of test and present this feature for everybody.

CFB, could you please disclose measuring unit for "soon"? it can be approx. hours, days, weeks, months, years Smiley

I know that 3rd part will be published in April. 1st part was published on 9th of Dec. I think BCNext will publish the 2nd part somewhere in between, it doesn't make much sense to publish 2nd part after the 3rd one. At least for me, not sure about BCNext.

Got it. hours, days<"soon"<years=months Smiley

I will really enjoy watching the NXT community voting on how to implement parts 2 and 3 of a plan they know nothing about.  That is going to be quite a spectacular show.

They'll know soon.

What happened with BTER? There is no action at all.
1108  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: NXT :: descendant of Bitcoin - Updated Information on: January 22, 2014, 03:42:22 PM
hello...

do you know what is happening with bter???

they do not free my nxt coins since more than 12 hours ago when bter received them...

is this a "corralito"?  ??
just wait and email them

thank you for your answer

yeah, i did it to custemer@bter.com, but,  it is not supposed to be just one minute since they receive the coins??? it is done in an authomatically way...i dont understad what is going on with them...

Do they work in batches, maybe? I know DGEX does.

Go to "My funds" and in the same line where NXT is there are links. Go to "sync" and wait 1-2 min. Later try to refresh that page. This helped me, I had now problems with depositing NXT in BTER.

JL, could you please explain in simple Joe words what causes "generating an incorrect block..." error? In one month of using NRS of newest version, I get only these errors.
Maybe this?

I think, during this period I had chances to forge a block, but somehow I didn't it, some other account was "faster, smarter" tham my account. Am I understand right or here is another cause (firewall settings, my node without public address, etc.)?

It looks like coinmarketcap.com still only pulls volume data from DGEX.  Do they plan to add nxtchg.com and bter.com?

No, it still doesn't work..

Hmmm... I will leave the suggestions to others then.   Sad

If you use start.bat, edit it and add "pause" in the last line. You should see some errors in command window.
1115  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Nxt :: descendant of Bitcoin - Updated Information on: January 16, 2014, 06:28:06 PM
NXT's single vision is decentralization and community involvement, imho . If i am not wrong, I share this vision with BCNext and Cfb. So you plan to count on BCNext or Cfb to make decisions for you, I think you would be disappointed.

But if some points, this venture become too disarrayed and too fragmented that BCNext has to appear and decide everything then I will leave because because all my efforts have been fruitless. Up until that point, if you care about NXT, then giving up the habit of looking up for a leader and actually doing something. You yourself could actually shape the vision for NXT.

This is so vague....what does "decentralization and community involvement" mean to you?

Apparently, it means voting on Nxt-related things.

So how many people need to vote to satisfy your criterion of "community involvement?"

Would 20% of NXTholders be enough? 50%? What if voter participation was almost completely from the top 10 percentile of Nxt holders, and the people holding a couple thousand NXT just sat out the election?

I think part of the problem we're having with voting is that info about this project is scattered over 3 forums (here, nextcoin.org and nxtcrypto.org) and there is no organization.

As I said in a previous post, I've been following this with some effort for about 10 days now, and I still am ignorant of a lot of important things.

  • Who is Jean-Luc and what does he do?
  • Is BCNext still involved in programming and development.
  • What do Utopian Future, Klee, Anon, 2Kewl4School and other prolific posters do? Do they program stuff? Write articles?
  • Where do you go to get reliable technical answers about the protocol?
  • How many developers are there currently working on the full source code? Who are they?

Information is too fragmented, or scattered through this 900-page thread. I got interested in NXT in late December, and there's really no way to get caught up on the status of the project.

Yes I have read the wiki, white paper, and I hang out in #nxtalk, but I am still uninformed.

And you want me to vote.

I would vote and participate but really, there is no way to get caught up on the project for someone coming on board now and that hasn't been here since the beginning.

My account in signature. I didn't forge anything, only errors errors.
U have 22K, that's normal that u haven't forged a block yet.

So what does "error generating block" means? As I understand, everybody having NXT in account 1440 confirmations old, has a chance, depending on NXT quantity, to forge a block. If server is running and everything OK, block should be forged. Am I right? So what prevents to forge a block? Sorry for dumb questions, but I, as ordinary Joe, want to understand the problem. I want to be sure, that my PC is OK and that is just the algorithm matter.

If u see this error having 22K then it means with 99% chance that ur blockchain is not up to date.

I think my blockchain is up to date. In recent block window, new blocks time  correspond to my PC time.

This is now. What about the time when u got the error message?

It was also up to date, I'm sure about it.

So, finalizing everything, if my real time is UTC+2 and it is correct, the difference in 1 hour of block AAAAA I see in blockchainexplorer and my client is normal and it is not the error I always get when I have a chance to forge but do not forge succesfuly?

Right, PM me with ur account id, I'll check how many u forged.

Yes.

OK, so it means that I don't have a luck (need to visit church) or there is other error on server side.
