1101  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Seniors apply patience and kindness to newcomers on: September 21, 2023, 08:11:01 PM
I have concerns about the interactions between experienced members and newcomers in this forum. Occasionally, some experienced members can be quite harsh and may forget that newcomers are here to learn. While constructive corrections are beneficial, it's crucial to avoid using harsh or abusive language.

It's true that some posts from newcomers may be of low quality or show a lack of willingness to learn initially. However, I believe that giving them a chance and treating them with kindness is a reasonable approach.

I honestly have never seen this reaction from senior users (excluding of course in lending section or when faced with scams attempts).
Most senior are reluctant to provide always the same answer to most of questions: have you searched before?

In general, many users have found a lot of information on their own, without having to constantly ask. Or at least... they used the search function at their beginning!

Be able to verify an information by yourself and finding original source is also part of "the right approach" Wink

1103  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Betting significant amount on: September 21, 2023, 06:39:33 AM
bets "all in" like this are always very very risky and risk to complete waist any approach to money management.
money management is the only tool over which we have real control and this is precisely a fundamental aspect to avoid "dangerous" gambling. You have hit a loss? Take a pause or change game. Going all in is never a valid solution.
1104  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Tennis League All Thread on: September 21, 2023, 06:35:10 AM

No drug in the world is actually beneficial for health.
...

let's stay on topic and please say SENSIBLE THINGS especially of which we have "awareness".

then, BALIK if you want to undergo a tooth extraction without anesthesia, or if you have type 1 diabetes you don't want to take insulin, (I won't continue the list is really long) do as you think best, but it's not smart to say it around, especially in a topic about tennis in a forum related to.. bitcoin!
1105  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: BitcoinSnack.com Help needed for Bitcoin Vending Machine on: September 20, 2023, 04:14:09 PM
@BitcoinSnack
Why ask strangers for donations? you could ask your friends, relatives, or simply a bank!
Then ask for a random amount. Or why 3000 dollars? We have not seen any business plan, budget, nothing... just an image.

But the real question is, why should I give you money "donation" to do a business and you take the profits? or did I miss something?
1106  Local / Italiano (Italian) / Hal Finney e la Bitcoin Bank on: September 20, 2023, 04:10:05 PM
"Most Bitcoin transactions will occur between banks, to settle net transfers." - Hal Finney Dec. 2010.
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2500.msg34211#msg34211
Actually there is a very good reason for Bitcoin-backed banks to exist, issuing their own digital cash currency, redeemable for bitcoins. Bitcoin itself cannot scale to have every single financial transaction in the world be broadcast to everyone and included in the block chain. There needs to be a secondary level of payment systems which is lighter weight and more efficient. Likewise, the time needed for Bitcoin transactions to finalize will be impractical for medium to large value purchases.

Bitcoin backed banks will solve these problems. They can work like banks did before nationalization of currency. Different banks can have different policies, some more aggressive, some more conservative. Some would be fractional reserve while others may be 100% Bitcoin backed. Interest rates may vary. Cash from some banks may trade at a discount to that from others.

George Selgin has worked out the theory of competitive free banking in detail, and he argues that such a system would be stable, inflation resistant and self-regulating.

I believe this will be the ultimate fate of Bitcoin, to be the "high-powered money" that serves as a reserve currency for banks that issue their own digital cash. Most Bitcoin transactions will occur between banks, to settle net transfers. Bitcoin transactions by private individuals will be as rare as... well, as Bitcoin based purchases are today.

1107  Economy / Gambling / Re: Casinos not asking for KYC to register and play, but do require it to withdraw on: September 20, 2023, 04:02:18 PM
Generally, and also in this case... it's useless blame casino or operator because rules allow them to have these kinds of policies.
The same applies also with FIAT casino or bookmaker. I think that the only solution is always... be ready to complete KYC!
Of course avoid betting from a banned country and use VPN etc etc...
1108  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Are no KYC casinos taking risks? on: September 20, 2023, 12:09:12 PM
rule of thumbs:
if a casino is not compliant with all the rules that concern their operations (in this case KYC) how can I be sure that in the event of disputes or problems they will look after my interest and act honestly?

The only bets without KYC that "make sense" are those that are made via "oracle" protocols or other smart contracts in which by design it is useless and impossible to carry out such security check and not even the legislator could have any requests in this regard.
1109  Economy / Gambling / Re: Stake.com - The Leading Crypto Casino - Drake, UFC, Everton, Alfa Romeo F1 Team on: September 20, 2023, 07:55:57 AM
Every time I try to predict how much bonus I will receive from Stake (I'm platinum I) I always manage to be wrong Smiley

Missed only one day from my prediction (21th), how much you are wagging? I requested my statistic my 30 days wagering $10,471.67 = 26$. I think we all know the reason why the (Monthly) are low, you got 2x monthly last month ~XD

I think wagering has a relative impact on final bonus, since deposits and money lost made the biggest part of bonus.
Perhaps the monthly bonus is a little smaller than other occasions, it is always a great incentive that they provide.
1110  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Are You Tax Efficient With Your Gambling Habbits? on: September 18, 2023, 02:06:49 PM
in Italy winnings are taxed centrally automatically directly by the bookmaker when they pay a win.
But isn't enough. In some cases people have to declare such wins (like people that get subsides).
If it wasn't enough, now authorities also do cross-checks with tax declarations since above certain figures (2000 euros) you necessarily have to indicate this earning. of course just another way to tax people earning.
1111  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Free Entry ]🏏CONTEST ICC MENS WC 2023 on: September 18, 2023, 02:02:40 PM
Hi @OP Nice initiative and thanks for share...
However this is a bitcoin forum, to be compliant with rules you should offer a bitcoin bonus/reward.
I also think the section is wrong, it should go "Games and Rounds" that is here https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=71.0
Ask Moderator to move your topic and edit reward Wink
1112  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: When the fun stops on: September 18, 2023, 01:39:23 PM
I am also one of those who believes that gambling is a form of "entertainment" and should be treated as such.
Taking into account the odds of winning, wins that actually manage to change lifestyle are very rare (despite being advertised everywhere for a long time).

There is an excellent tool posted some time ago here on the forum that allowed you to calculate how long it would take to guess a win in powerball or similar games. The results are impressive  Shocked
1113  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Experience for new and old gambler? on: September 18, 2023, 07:15:11 AM
probably an old gambler has more experience to understand what he is doing and what are the risk linked to bets.
meanwhile a "new" gambler could have some bias and made mistakes or underestimate betting risks.

by the way, an addiction is something similar for a player even if he is "new" or "old" gambler... it's always an addiction!
1114  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Free spins are also a demo in disguise? on: September 17, 2023, 03:00:24 PM
I think that major/reputable casino probably not have free spins like "demo".
Of course it can be generalized since there are many operators and many scripts... I have seen some times a "cap" on max win, but always counted as "real money bet".

Just as simple example, I have used many BJ.FUN free spins (several prize won) and even if these were provided free I was able to win decent amount (that should be not possible with free spins...).
1115  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Casino features you like and Don't like but you don't mind on: September 17, 2023, 07:56:10 AM
So you have been a gambler for at least 1year. Before Covid, you were a regular at the physical casino in your locality. You gambled with fiat. But when Covid hit, you discovered online casinos. You didn't need to gamble with fiat anymore but with cryptocurrencies. You tried out many online casinos but finally settled for one or two. There's no perfect casinos but you have stuck with this one occasionally trying out new casinos as advertised on the forum or out there but you still return to your favorite casinos. What are the features in your favorite casinos that you like that makes you keep going back and what are the features that you don't like at your favorite casino but you overlook them and still play there?

the best features I look for in an online casino or a crypto-casino are those that help the player maximize profit or lose less.
example: limit on deposits, bonuses and promotions, rakeback etc. presence of clear information on RTP, management of deposits directly via vault and so on.

1118  Economy / Gambling / Re: Project feedback on: September 16, 2023, 09:06:21 PM
I like this idea, it's something new on gambling field and it can works with many promotions.
I think also that other "prizes" could be allowed, likewise freebets, freespins and more.

Just a suggestion, it's not the best part the link between social networks and gambling newsletter....
1119  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin kwoledge is not complete without bitcoin investment on: September 16, 2023, 03:53:20 PM
investment? in the end you need to use this technology "real life" to appreciate its advantages which overcome the speculative aspect and become something "priceless".
Example:
sending "value" in a few minutes from the other side of the world without intermediaries.
carry out transactions with negligible costs.
being able to store this value safely and easily.
In short, the advantages are wasted, it is up to the basic user to discover all the options.
1120  Economy / Gambling / Re: [RESOLVED] Rollbit withdrawal pending for over 16 hours on: September 16, 2023, 03:44:49 PM
@OP
Personally, I find something "useless" to open a topic after a few hours of requesting a withdrawal, but in any case thank you for sharing your experience (which is instructive for everyone) and for updating the topic with resolution/outcome. It's really important to know that everything was resolved.
