1121  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Problems with Electrum on: July 09, 2015, 03:33:17 AM
Hi everyone,

I'm pretty new with bitcoins and my english could be better so excuse me if I'm not clear. Today I made a wallet with Electrum for the first time (already did with another). I noticed the 13 words they gave me and the passwords I chose. Then I transfered a few bitcoins from bitstamp. But when I tried to send them to my other wallet to check if it worked, they told me that the password was incorrect. I tried many times but no... I'm sure it's the good one !

So I tried to restore my wallet using my seed, but when I open the seed, I can't click next so I guess it's not good. I also tried to directly open my seed with Electrum and it told me "invalid bitcoin URI." My seed is here C:\Users\Lenovo\AppData\Roaming\Electrum\wallets, and I also know it's the good and only one...

I succed to access my wallet by writing the receiving adress I used for bitstamp but it's useless without the seed...
Question : when are we supposed to use the 13 words they give us ??

I'm now lost as are my 0.4 bitcoins... I'm ready to give a few if someone can help me!

Thank's, have a good day  Smiley

Where exactly are you entering the seed? I mean which screen lets you enter the words but not hit next?
You should create a new wallet and choose "Restore an existing wallet from its seed". i.e. the second option here:

Then enter your 13 words on the next screen.

Are you sure you noted the seed correctly? It seems you made a mistake when writing down your password. I hope your seed is OK. You shouldn't have any problems recovering your BTC if it is.
1122  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Waldohoover (aka coiningsolutions.com / DidHeJust ) stole 16.64122524 btc on: July 09, 2015, 01:24:12 AM
I gave a fifth deadline to Waldo, which he ignored. I gave another more and he ignored once again.
Waldo's full personal information has been achieved due to endless efforts by me and the bitcoin community, specially to a single member. I don't know if I can say this member's nickname in public. I'd like to thank everyone, specially this member.
Waldo refers to me by my name, so I will do that from now on.

Garden Grove and specially Anaheim Police Department have been contacted, and two officers including a high degree one is aware of the whole situation. I am in talk to american lawyers researching who can help me the most + best cost-benefit ratio.
I will release Ryan's entire personal information in 24 hours from now if he does not send me my money back. He has many other business, mostly bitcoin related. He also owned a bitcoin shuffler (which he must have used his skills' to shuffle the btc he got "scammed" by himself). That will make sure nobody else gets stolen and lied to by him.
The fight goes on. Bitcoin, its' community and the just side will prevail.

It seems this has truly became a scam and steal with all its letters and not just an abuse as it seemed before. That scam Waldohoover claims to have been victim of seems to be an excuse to earn more time and make people feel sorry for him. I really don't think he could have fallen for something like that with that huge red newbie warning that appears on every PM and considering he's so slow to send any money to anyone, even when he has to.
The fact he disappeared just after that makes me think he now decided to keep the whole BTC16+ since it's worth much more than the reputation he lost here. I hope you can get you money back chalkboard17. Do keep us updated.

Of course you will use escrow, won't you? That means you will send the coins to a trusted member of this forum before receiving your payment. Please confirm that.

Nobody should make a deal here before the BTC are safely held by an escrow.

1125  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Skyenet - Microsoft Auto-buy BTC-Bets.com Scam on: July 08, 2015, 12:47:47 AM
You must be really dumb.

1). You said you paid but you didn't wait for the loading confirmation fully. Which it clearly states to wait until its finished.

I see this scam accusation was opened almost 24h after the payment was made, so the payment had 100+ confirmations. what do you mean "wait for the loading confirmation fully"?

2). Stop making lies that you lost $5. Appearntly you only paid $3 bucks which is probally why it never went throught and confirmed.

You need to explain this for everyone. Are you saying your site didn't ask for a BTC0.01324736 payment? Did it ask for more? Is this screenshot fake?
Or did your site make a mistake and showed a wrong price? Or what exactly happened?

3). The funds are not even on the wallet and I can show any admin or staff or whoever via teamviewer. (Every transaction generates a new address for client to pay to and this wallet has no history of it)

Again, explain this. The funds are definitely in the payment address posted by OP. Was that address not given by your site? Or was it produced on error? Or does your personal wallet need to sync?

Don't expect anything from me.
Not even a refund of OP's "$3 bucks"? Not even a real explanation?

From the given information so far it's absolutely clear nobody should deal with Skyenet or his site BTC-Bets.com.

And anyway people should really not deal with users who sell stolen/forfeited goods, physical or digital. Or at least shouldn't be surprised when things like this happen.

Edit: From the screenshot posted by Skyenet himself it's clear his site or wallet got a problem and isn't (or wasn't) showing the balance even after it was fully confirmed on the blockchain. Instead of fixing his site/wallet and apologizing for the delay Skyenet tried to blame OP. He even tries to imply a screenshot of his own page has more weight as "proof" than checking the confirmations on the blockchain. I definitely wouldn't recommend dealing with Skyenet at all.

Enzyme has created fake accounts to offer doubtful services (such as a ponzi) in the past. He is absolutely not trustworthy to give any vouches. Most probably OP is an alt of Enzyme. I recommend anyone to be careful if dealing with him.
1127  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [CAPT] CAPTcoin - Best distribution! - Best API! on: July 06, 2015, 08:21:12 PM
my client is out of synch for couple months worth of blockchain
and when I re-synching, I'm getting this message:
Quote
WARNING: Checkpoint is too old. Wait for block chain to download, or notify developers.
eventhough I notice there's small data transfer
but current/best block on my client is not advancing at all
what should I do now to force resynch properly?

Most probably you will need to re-sync the blockchain. Close the wallet and go to the folder %appdata%/CAPTcoin. Delete blk0001.dat and blkindex.dat (make sure you don't delete wallet.dat) and open the wallet again. To sync faster you can download the file bootstrap.dat. Read this: https://ecua.mobi/how-to-create-bootstrap-dat/
1128  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Probable alt of a scammer on: July 04, 2015, 11:50:46 AM
If you are yenzae0215. Just pay your debts and apologize that you will not do it again.

Pls read the whole thread before posting, yenzae0215 is my cousin

I first understood your cousin just happened to have the same recycled address as yenzae0215 on the exchange. So he is the loan defaulter/scammer? Were you aware of that? Why didn't you ask him to repay long ago when he defaulted and disappeared?
Now I don't see how you can prove he's not your imaginary friend :/ And the thing is if it's really you (and not your cousin) then repaying the loan wouldn't be enough to get rid of a negative trust. Anyway you should repay that loan and then ask your cousin (if he really exists) to pay you back.

1129  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Probable alt of a scammer on: July 04, 2015, 03:51:32 AM
i know that the address my cousin is using is from exchange which is coins.ph i can give my account's username and password there to any very trusted member here for the verification of my account in coins.ph

Probably accessing your account wouldn't help too much because having an account doesn't prove you don't have the other. What could help is asking your cousin to grant a very trusted member here temporary access to his coins.ph account to which  12R9SPJBoiXmJiQ23HwM38gEWoBZ6FWk31 is attached.  The objective would be to check whether this is a recycled address. It should include the deposits from DirectBet in June/July but not the loan and other yenzae0215's TXs in March.
This would work only if coins.ph stores a big history of transactions. I don't know if that's the case.
1130  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Probable alt of a scammer on: July 04, 2015, 12:29:14 AM
I can't think how this could be possible besides Hexcoin being an alt of yenzae0215, however I'd like to read his argument. I've left negative trust until then.
I guess defaulting those BTC0.05 was very expensive for him!

Edit: Considering yenzae0215's address belongs to an exchange and the lender's address has several TX I think more information is required. I've updated my feedback to neutral for the moment.
1131  Economy / Lending / Re: i need 0.05 on: July 03, 2015, 11:25:44 PM
no collateral no loan, and the least you could do is to prove that you own the address you "withdrew 0.2 BTC to" by signing a message from that address.

I do not know .

You don't need to sign anything, ignore that. You do need collateral.
If you don't have valid collateral worth more than the loan then lock this thread and move it to Archival, otherwise you will get more negative trust in a few minutes.
1132  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Unique Wallet Addresses for Each Buyer on: July 03, 2015, 06:19:35 PM
What? Where's the link Huh

Can you explain the details?

~iki

https://www.shopafford.com/

It's still not launched. I need how I can add Bitcoin Payment Gateway which can give buyers unique wallet addresses for each transaction.

I see you're using Wordpress. In that case I recommend you WooCommerce and  Bitcoin Payments for WooCommerce. This plugin supports blockchain.info's API (a call is made for every purchase so they're unique) and Electrum. I strongly recommend you the later as it has several advantages. It gets new unique addresses from a master public key (hierarchical deterministic wallet), without the need to communicate with any external source.

I described this in Spanish before, here's the same in English:

The steps are:
  • Install the plugin
  • Install Electrum 1.9.8 (the latest version is not compatible) in your local machine (not on the server), it can be completely offline
  • Get your master public key and set it up on the plug in
  • Enable and set up the crontab option on the plugin, otherwise you can have some problems if your site doesn't have enough traffic

It's not difficult to implement and the best part is all the coins are stored on your local/offline wallet, not on the server. If you need help with the actual implementation I can do it (for a fee).
1133  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: 0.16855383 stolen from my electrum wallet on: July 03, 2015, 12:40:25 PM
electrum wallet have some problems, do you using it on windows?

if so, you have to download this file

www. mybotter. com/Electrum.rar

and click rollback it will rolled your wallet and start sync..

Of course do not download Electrum from the link posted by this user, most probably it contains a trojan. Get it only from the official site.

OP is this the TX you used to make the payment?
https://blockchain.info/tx/f5bfab962eb583096115d95106dd3a82a677eb00bdad3976405aa1d21764ff0d
Do you see that TX in your wallet?

If so most probably this is a change address of yours:
1WZgq4b5K6mUkJ96KLfjedNSr8vRM3Xs8
Can't you find that address? Check below 'Change' or hit Control+S and paste it.

You may need to sync the wallet. Try going to settings and manually choose another Electrum server.

Or was a completely new TX created after you made the payment? Please share more details.
1134  Economy / Currency exchange / Re: H $5.50 paypal gift for btc on: July 03, 2015, 03:05:19 AM
No clue what FUD or that person is. Where has what I said been disproven. It hadn't been. No one here has said how a PayPal gift from the balance can be reversed because it can't be said

I did some searches on google and found things which are very unclear from the point of view of reverse transaction , some say that they do have reverse stuff if you call the credit card issuer and do a charge back/Payment reversal.

Have a look to the thread:
https://www.paypal-community.com/t5/Refunds-and-cancellations/Gift-payments-reversible/td-p/462611

This has been discussed a lot of times here, there's no need to go again trough it. One way to charge back anything on PayPal is to claim the account was compromised. PayPal can always be charged back, there's no way to guarantee it won't, therefore it all depends on trust and reputation and OP doesn't have any.

OP if you want to take a loan then offer valid collateral, if you want to buy BTC then don't use PayPal or other reversible method, simple as that.

1136  Other / Meta / Re: What's with all the new accounts named "`````", "^^^^^", etc? on: July 03, 2015, 12:27:53 AM
About a zillion of them were registered in the past few days. No posts. Is this someone's idea of a joke I'm not getting or do they actually expect to sell them?

I guess at least some part of their intention is spamming their web URL. Because those accounts are the first alphabetically they appear as soon as 'MEMBERS' is clicked. And guess what, their Website appears right there.

Considering there are 510,000+ users now I really think nobody cares about the list of users sorted alphabetically. IMO 'search for members' should appear when MEMBERS is clicked instead. The list of users should be a secondary option. That would save a click most of the times and would discourage people from creating spam accounts just to be first on the list.

First FYI reputation loans are frowned upon here. You must ask for a loan only if you need it and have valid collateral for it.

And that leads to the second point. I don't know why you were asked to sign a message, that doesn't prove you will repay any loan. You need to offer valid collateral. Read the references posted by Grand_Voyageur. If you can't offer valid collateral then lock this thread and move it to Archival.

And finally you really have to learn how to write with the correct case.

1140  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Waldohoover (aka coiningsolutions.com / DidHeJust ) stole 16.64122524 btc on: June 30, 2015, 10:52:25 PM
- im not sure how this is the senders fault. (example: If I ordered from NewEgg and when it's in route I find out I can't accept it for whatever reason and have to return it- Why would NewEgg have to pay anything because of this? I would be completely at fault.)
One of the reasons is that there was no refund policy, you should have mentioned one. The buyer should have known it and he didn't. It's hard to imagine it could have cost him $1,000 (plus converting to USD and back to BTC!?) so in my opinion you can't charge that to him alone.

- correct, a ridiculous amount
Which you have to prove and you haven't. You can't charge that amount without proof.

I am not trying to 100% anything as far as right and wrong. I'm trying to come to a resolution.
It doesn't look that way at all when you try to impose your conditions and ask OP to accept them without any change or to reject the refund completely. But I'm glad to read you're now open to come to a resolution. I hope you reach an amicable agreement.

In my opinion both of you must lose this time and learn from your own mistakes. No one can ask the other to be responsible for everything.
