1121  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Desktop Lag on: June 12, 2011, 12:23:30 AM
Are there any flags that will reduce desktop lag when running a miner? I have a 5970 running 24x7 but its running on the machine I use to play games on. Some games even cause the PC to bluescreen if I launch them while the miners are running. In general tho, the desktop is laggy. Is there anything I can do?

Turn the aggression level down. That should solve your problem.

yep, even $35 Sempron 140 is enough, but Athlon II 220 is only $6 more expensive -)

Yeah, but what are you getting for that $6? If you know what you're doing, you can unlock a second core on the Sempron, so getting the Athlon II is basically pointless.

What Aggression level are you running at?

Yes, merchants LOVE the idea of having to change the price of their merchandise every 10 minutes because of massive parabolic price fluctuations.  Nothing is better than having to renegotiate with a customer over how the intial payment they sent now won't even cover the shipping to send the item out.

Bitcoin will stabilize. And this happens with any currency; it's why all the airlines are bankrupt.

An army of trolls, sure!

Oh no, are we being attacked by Trolls United?

Bitcoin is over, This whole thing essentially proves to retailers that bitcoin can never be stable enough for them to reliably turn a profit from selling things with it. Unlike a dollar, or pound, or yen, it's value fluctuates far too wildly for it to be considered anyway near stable enough for real transactions.

I don't think so. All currencies have drastic value changes, and Bitcoin is particularly susceptible in its early years. If Bitcoin succeeds, it will become more steady in price, and eventually retailers will begin to accept it because it will be more reliable than any country-backed currency, Don't despair!

hmm, it is now working in 4 way crossfire, i assume it will work with no crossfire if i use a monitor on each graphics card.

one of my cards fan has just died though so im one down.

i have fixed one of my problems, i think it was user error as you cant click a card into the bottom slot with any usb or front panel, or fan plugged in.

the other problem is overclocking, i cannot work out how to do it with more than one card.

Use the steps outlined in this link: http://www.legitreviews.com/article/1090/1/ That should do the trick.

MegaByteCoins  Shocked Shocked Shocked Shocked

What's wrong with GigabyteCoin???

GigabyteCoins are for poor people. YottabyteCoins (1*10^24 bytes) are where it's at.

Go buy US Treasury bonds.  Invest in real money.  Right?

If you think that USD is a secure currency, you must either be delusional or a time traveler. Cheesy
1131  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: PsyOps101: To Destroy Bitcoin, I would... on: June 11, 2011, 11:23:23 PM
Alternatively, you can just ignore bitcoin, because it's very good at destroying itself.

Every new system is bound to go through instability here and there. Just because the price really fluctuates doesn't mean Bitcoin is going to die. Just look at the stock market.
1132  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: So when will the drop in price stop? on: June 11, 2011, 11:18:49 PM
It will stop dropping June 31st. I guarantee it.

When June 31st comes, the price of Bitcoins will be irrelevant.  Grin
