1121  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Italian League Prediction Thread (Serie A) on: June 29, 2023, 07:26:42 PM
Inter had a wonderful season even though they couldn't be competitive for the Serie A title. Winning two titles and qualifying for the Champions League finale must be more than enough for the team. Inzaghi must have consolidated his seat a little more by this season. They could have even gone for the Serie A title also if it weren't for their bad performance at defending in the time period until the World Cup.

Now they must be financially stronger also and I will be expecting them to make decent improvements for the squad. Inter are seen as the number one title contender next time according to bookies already. They will need to maintain this level to prove them right for sure.

I wonder who will be brought after Lukaku and Dzeko's departures too. They should make their choice of striker carefully to have a nice duo with Lautaro.

The next season for Inzaghi will be very unpleasant/dangerous - expectations for Inter are high, they are Serie A favorites and any result in the Champions League, except for the final again, will (purely psychologically) be perceived as a deterioration in the result. I highly doubt that luck (in opponents which were on their way to the final) will be on the side of Inter again and I am not at all sure that they will take the Serie A title.

Inzaghi won't be able to get more comfortable that's for sure, yes. Being shown as the biggest title contender by bookmakers will be a big responsibility to have for Inzaghi. The start to the season will be really crucial. He will be expected to maintain the level they had in the second half of this season. This would help them have a solid start to the league.

But consistency is key factor of course. I don't expect them to be alone in the title competition like Napoli were this season. This was one of the rare seasons also of course. Normally we have been seeing a really fierce competition for the title until final weeks.

Napoli can still be very competitive as long as Rudi Garcia maintains the same system and they don't lose crucial players like Osimhen. In addition we don't even know how competitive the other top teams would be.

I'm sure they have a lot of options to put in the midfield. They can evaluate one of them and make up for Gundogan's absence. As for the team captain, I think it is no longer as important as it used to be. İlkay leaves, someone else becomes captain and Manchester City continues to win, I don't think anything will change.
Kevin De Bruyne will replace Ilkay Gundogan who moved to Barcelona. De Bruyne will be Manchester City's main captain next season, but Pep Guardiola may still be hoping for a worthy replacement.

Pep Guardiola has signed possible Mateo Kovacic for Ilkay Gundogan's replacement. Kovacic is also good at providing stability in midfield, he can help Rodri and De Bruyne in midfield. Pep Guardiola has many options in midfield, so Manchester City's form next season shouldn't fall apart.

Yes, you are right. Kovacic is about to become their new signing officially. He would fit the team really great after Gundogan's arrival. He can make a solid contribution to the midfield and I still wonder why Chelsea let him go in the first place. Kovacic is still 29 years old and he can play at least for a couple of years for Manchester City.

Aside from that I didn't know De Bruyne was going to be the new captain. I think he is a great choice for this title. He has been a part of the team since the 2015/16 season and he has really been like a leader so far.

According the report some media, Arsenal have submit bid offer 100 million euro for West Ham United to sign Declan Rice, its official bid from Arsenal for fighting race with Manchester City announced interest with West Ham United captain team Declan Race.  Looks excited with Arsenal bid offer 100 million euro and depend with Manchester City will bid above 100 million euro or back from fighting to sign Declan Rice.

Arsenal looks confident for reach deal agreement with Declan Rice and West Ham United due their bid offer 100 million euro, I don't sure Manchester City will give up because they have loss Gundogan and Declan Rice could be best option for replacing midfielder position empty in Manchester City.

Who will win for signing Declan Rice Arsenal or Manchester City?

Manchester City are out in this race at this point. Because they stated they wouldn't pay as much as Arsenal intended to. A package of 105 million pounds is really huge. Maybe players are getting more expensive in the market in time but I still can't see this kind of an amount as normal for Declan Rice here.

He may be a really decent talent as a midfielder maybe but we will see if he will perform as good as his worth from now on.

Besides it looks like Arsenal don't step back from paying a huge amount of money for players anymore. They weren't a team like this in the past but it looks like Arteta wants to play much bigger.

Neymar's future is also unclear for this transfer window. It looks like PSG might have to go for a rebuild this summer as they have started to lose their important players. First Messi has left and now Neymar is also likely to do so. I don't know where Neymar's next station would be though. There isn't any offer in Europe for now.

Maybe MLS or Saudi Arabia can be serious options for Neymar. Let's say he also left PSG will have only Mbappe left in the trio here. Even Mbappe's time is running out at PSG. If it doesn't happen this summer it looks like it will in the next one. A complete rebuild in the attacking line would be really interesting to watch.

The same disappointing run for Tottenham still goes on. They still can't win a single title while they have a really great squad. Above all else they have Kane's incredible scoring skills but this still can't help them become successful. This season was even a disaster for them as they are going to be able to join any European cup.

Apart from that I have heard that they might lose even Kane this summer. Because Bayern Munich have started to make official offers for Kane already. The first bid was 75 million euros though which was quite below what Levy wants.

Maybe Real Madrid and PSG would also join the race and make it more exciting. But this would mean that Levy is in a big trouble this time. Because he normally wants to keep Kane until the end of his contract. If he leaves I can't imagine what Tottenham would even do.
1128  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UEFA Champions League 2023/24 Season on: June 27, 2023, 08:26:44 PM
Manchester City's losing Gundogan is of course not good as he was their captain at the same time. However this isn't the end of the world for them either. I don't expect this news to affect their Champions League performance much next time. Besides Manchester City are one of the most influential teams in Europe right now.

It shouldn't be very difficult for them to fill his place with a solid midfielder. Besides I will be expecting them to get even stronger in the Champions League next time. Because they have already started to be active in the transfer market. Recently they are trying to complete the signing of Gvardiol to consolidate the defense highly.

Austria track is normally a quite short one normally but rain can extend lap times quite much for certain. But not even heavy rain can be enough to stop Verstappen from winning this race that easy of course. In the past we were talking about Hamilton's being a wonderful driver under rain.

But now after entering this new era in the sport Verstappen has started to put on a great show thanks to having the fastest car on the grid also. I would love to see Hamilton getting faster in time and reaching the level to be able to compete with Verstappen again. But I guess we will still need to wait for that to happen for a long time.

Have you heard about some news like Gareth Bale can return from retirement to football? It is said that he might really return after hearing about how much Saudi Arabian teams pay for players these days.  Cheesy  When I first heard about the possibility I thought that we would watch him in the La Liga again. But it looks like he might only return for making an incredible amount of money for a couple of years.

After that I assume we wouldn't see him going back to the La Liga or any other top league. But this is only about a rumour until we hear the same words from Bale to verify that.

Not only some of PSG's players will change significantly. Even the management style of the team could change that much depending on who they will sign as their new coach. Luis Enrique has been the name who people have talked about the most lately. But as far as I know the talks haven't still reached a serious level between the sides yet.

PSG boss should take a fact into account that this big change will absolutely happen if he decides upon Luis Enrique. Because he likes a slow ball possession game more than the system PSG have used for years. But this isn't a very appropriate system for their best player who is Mbappe. The decision should be made thinking of all variables if they want to win the Champions League title finally.

Also, Milan don't have the strongest mid line, so they have some work to do, but I don't see any significant activity in the transfer market yet.

When it comes to their midfield Milan will really need to concern themselves with keeping their midfield strong next season. Because they played with so many loaned midfielders this season. Actually not all of them played in so many matches but they were at least alternatives to the main players. Bakayoko, Brahim Diaz and Vranckx all are about to return to their teams as their loan spell is ending soon.

Apart from that Tonali who is one of the most important members in their midfield is also chased by some teams. Newcastle is the most rumoured team with him currently. Losing so many midfielders at the same time could create some crisis for Milan so they should start looking for midfielders as Plan B.

Charles De Ketelaere was signed by Milan also and he is actually a really talented attacking midfielder. He couldn't contribute with goals and assists much this season but he is still very young. Hopefully he can start doing better in time.

Binotto is actually not a bad engineer. There were some other issues existing at Ferrari and it looks like there is still not much thing solved. Binotto could have still continued his career at Ferrari as an engineer at least. Vasseur came to be the new boss but I even wish Ferrari brought back Binotto in his place now.

Because the current look of Ferrari is much worse than their first times in last season. You must be remembering how solid Ferrari drivers were at the beginning of that season. Maybe they faced serious durability problems later but they still showed that they could be really competitive if they worked hard.

But now who knows when they will even reach that level first.

I wouldn't call Hazard a flop, but he had the worst nightmares at Madrid with unexpected injuries and high expectations when he arrived, and things became difficult when Anacellotti arrived, the 90% of the time he played more than 50mins was under Zidane, Ancelloti made a living hell out of his career, and that could happen to any player who a coach doesn't rate, his career would have been different if Zidane had stayed back. I believe he was unlucky in his move to Real Madrid, but it could happen to anyone.

Mbappe is a tremendous player in his prime, but I wouldn't want him to play for Ancelotti because he is quite biassed in his squad selections.

Yes, he was quite unlucky on one hand. Long-running injuries made things really bad for him and he couldn't make a good comeback after that either. However Kroos made a statement like he wasn't feeling sorry for Hazard at all. He was more like mocking Hazard according to his words. Because Hazard really left an impression on people like he just wanted to go there to have a rest.

It is hard to say what in Hazard's mind was back in the day he joined Real Madrid. We have never seen the same Hazard we watched at Chelsea. Now he is going to be free agent so I wonder whether there would be serious candidates to sign a contract with him this summer.

I feel like Aston Villa might want to sign Hazard also. They signed Coutinho before and maybe it is time to go for Hazard also.  Grin

I don't know how much transfer budget Bayern Munich would like to allocate for the striker transfer. But no matter what they are in need of strengthening the lineup with a solid striker. It would be much better if we see them going for a complete forward. They have played with Lewandowski for years and become really successful in this time period. He has always had the biggest role in their successes. Considering that they are aware of the importance of making such transfer there are a couple of good players in the market.

But most of them would cost Bayern Munich quite high sum of money. If they don't plan to make many big transfers maybe they can be willing to pay a sum over 100 million for a striker.

I agree with your thoughts on this. I'm sure all Bayern Munich fans would agree. And I would like to add that there are a few strikers in the world that fit your description. There is no alternative other than Harry Kane and Osimhen. I think Harry Kane could create a second Lewandowski effect for them. But Osimhen's style of play may not be directly compatible with Bayern Munich. Osimhen could create a second Sadio Mane effect for Bayern Munich. I think Harry Kane is the best alternative for them. They finished this season as champions without a good forward. But they may not do the same next season. They have to transfer a good striker. And Harry Kane is the best name for them.

Actually I think Vlahovic can also be added to this list. He can also play as a complete forward in my opinion. He is a pretty young striker just as Osimhen also. Kane is definitely one step ahead due to his being very experienced solid striker. But he is about to become 30 in a month so the amount Tottenham demand for him is just too much.

Instead of spending that much money on Kane, Bayern Munich should go for Osimhen by paying the nearly same amount of money. Or they can just go for Vlahovic who can cost way lower than the other two alternatives. If Bayern Munich don't intend to splurge on a striker too much then Vlahovic is really much more favorable.

1139  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ Football Friendly Match is Hard to Predict on: June 22, 2023, 08:36:06 PM
I have tried to bet on friendly matches for a while to give it a chance. But the ending of it is really not well at all. Because in friendly matches you never know how the favourite side would play. Especially when they don't play with their best players your bet gets closer to a loss already. I have experienced this many times.

Even in times that friendly matches are organized close to the beginning of a new season, I bet on favourites by thinking they would have many main players on the field. But even in those times I come across by big surprises. Therefore I have just decided to bet on only official matches as technically my chance to win is bigger in most cases.
1140  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: La Liga (Spanish League) Prediction Thread 2022/23 on: June 22, 2023, 08:30:25 PM
Some people think that Gundogan is quite old so he can't make an impressive level of contribution to Barcelona. But I think the opposite here on this topic. Because if you watched even his last matches at Manchester City you must have seen how beneficial he was. For example he literally won the FA Cup title for his team by a big individual effort in the finale.

He was even the captain there and Guardiola didn't have any problem with his performance either. Maybe the board didn't want to have him anymore by some reason anyway I don't know. But now he is at another top team and I'm pretty sure he will do his best for Barcelona also.

While Busquets is leaving I think this is a sensible transfer to fill his place also. But I think he would play more like a central midfielder or attacking midfielder.
