....

The most important thing to know about science is, when you get down to the scientific papers, they are a lot different than the public opinion about the things that the papers talk about. The papers make points. They often go on to draw conclusions about the points. Other people draw conclusions about the points, as well. The conclusions mushroom into something like the Big Bang as truth when all it is, is some kind of fanciful sci-fi idea at its basic core.

Since everything operates by cause and effect, and since there is no pure random (only a thing we call random because we are so obscure that we barely know anything that is going on in the universe), whatever got the cause and effect going is so extremely great and far beyond us, the the only thing we can do is call it God.

Use your head, sometime, for something besides a propaganda rack (don't know if you have hair or not).

Smiley
Yes, random exists.

No, there is no fanciful sci-fi idea at the basic core of Big Bang theory.

There is just mathematics, and physics measurements.  From these the age of the universe can be calculated.  Anyone pretty much can replicate the experiments and verify the conclusions.  13.8 Billion years, and the universe is expanding.  It's eventual collapse is based on calculations of the aggregate gravitational forces.  Not really that complicated.

Why not go back to 911 conspiracy theories?   There we were sticking to high school level math and physics.  What do you say?

in fact aren't they guilty of a serious crime if they LEAVE ISLAM?  If so how can someone say they are not Muslim.

I have said number of times there is no punishment if someone leave Islam in Islam.

Are you sure? I'm no expert but punishment for leaving Islam seems to practiced and preached quite a bit though many liberal muslims obviously tend not to believe in it http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Apostasy_in_Islam

so what you want to say? As im muslim and never listened/ heard read anywhere that there is Any punishment for those who leave thew Islam as his/her religion.

Really?

http://www.foxnews.com/world/2014/05/16/international-outrage-grows-for-sudanese-woman-sentenced-to-death-for-apostasy/

http://english.alarabiya.net/en/News/africa/2014/12/25/Muslim-sentenced-to-death-in-Mauritania-for-apostasy-Judicial-source-.html

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mahmoud_Mohammed_Taha

Shortly before the appointed time, Mahmoud Muhammad Taha was led into the courtyard. The condemned man, his hands tied behind him, was smaller than I expected him to be, and from where I sat, as his guards hustled him along, he looked younger than his seventy-six years. He held his head high and stared silently into the crowd. When they saw him, many in the crowd leaped to their feet, jeering and shaking their fists at him. A few waved their Korans in the air. I managed to catch only a glimpse of Taha’s face before the executioner placed an oatmeal-colored sack over his head and body, but I shall never forget his expression: His eyes were defiant; his mouth firm. He showed no hint of fear.[1]

Despite the smallness of his group of supporters (the Republican Brothers), thousands of demonstrators protested his execution and police on horseback used bullwhips to drive back the crowd.[8] The body was secretly buried.[10]

The President/military dictator at the time Gaafar Nimeiry was overthrown by popular uprising four months later, the execution thought to be a contributing factor. The date of his execution, January 18th, later became Arab Human Rights Day.

Would you agree with this comment?

But in truth the western world’s railings against honour killings, death sentences for apostates, murderous fatwas, clitorectomy, Islamism in all its manifestations from al-Qa’eda to Boko Haram, are virtually nowhere echoed in the Islamic world itself. Good citizens of Muslim allegiance and vaguely moderating organisations like the Muslim Council of Britain are called in to the media microphones to distance ‘true’ Islam from the categories of barbarism. But they are a tiny western-dwelling elite, living in a part of the world informed for a couple of thousand years by the values of Hellenism and Judaeo-Christianity. They are profoundly alien to the Muslim world.

http://www.spectator.co.uk/features/9225151/witness-to-a-stoning/

Please remember when you reply, that you are conversing with an infidel, a koffer, an atheist.  I only debate from first principles, and therefore responding with quotes from old books is not a valid defense of a practice such as stoning, or death for apostasy.

Iran bans "homosexual" and "devil worshipping" hairstyles

http://www.theguardian.com/world/2015/may/05/iran-bans-devil-worshipping-homosexual-hairstyles

<< "Homosexual" and "devil worshipping" hairstyles have been banned in Iran, alongside tattoos, sunbed treatments and plucked eyebrows for men, which are all deemed un-Islamic. The move – aimed at spiky cuts – follows a trend where, each summer, Iranian authorities Iranian authorities get tough on men and women sporting clothing or hairdos seen as imitations of western lifestyles. In 2010, Iran banned ponytails, mullets and long, gelled hair for men, but allowed 1980s-style floppy fringes or quiffs. >>
Wait, so now the Mullahs have to have all the young boys come in for examinations?

Hmm....
11504  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Why do Atheists hate Religion ? on: May 08, 2015, 07:26:19 PM
Prosperity,
you are simply mistaken. Indeed there many variations on practice of Islam or Christianity (two religions I am most familiar with), while there also exist many variations on national socialism and communism (or rather international socialism), aswell as liberal democracy. All of those systems have rather strict hierarchies and binding taboos, vices and virtues.

Interracial sex is taboo in NS, seen indefferently in communism or Islam (aslong as the pair is married), while it is virtue in libdem.

Arming yourself and fighting in defense of faith or family is considered virtue in NS, communism or Islam, but is seen as taboo in christianity and libdem.

Premarital sex is seen indifferently in atheist systems, while religious ones frown upon it.

Similar differences exist in views on antisemitism, drug use, eugenics, social state, technology and role of a family.

Etc. Etc.

What does that have to do with anything I've said? I said that a theists views are largely dictated by what's said in their holy books, at least when concerning the three abrahamic religions, while an atheists views are not restricted by such a medium. Someone who self identifies as "Catholic" for example, cannot be against treating women as being less than men, because of things like this:

"Let the women learn in silence with all subjection. But I suffer not a woman to teach, nor to usurp authority over the man, but to be in silence. For Adam was first formed, then Eve. And Adam was not deceived, but the woman being deceived was in the transgression." (I Timothy 2:11-14)

Yet, we see Catholics all the time treating women as equals, but why? According to the bible women are less than men and should be treated as such.

This just goes to show how clueless Theists are about their own faiths. #dumbpeople
Not clueless. Not at all.  Christians just ignore Bible shit that makes no sense in the world they live in.

But this measure of merit, it would be Muslims who were clueless, thinking they must obey every word.

LOL....

Not god exist....

Allah Exist Everywhere...!!!

Once, a Bedouin was asked what made an unsophisticated man like him believe in Allah. The Bedouin said, "Do you see these marks in the sand?" "Yes," the man replied. "What do they tell you?" asked the Bedouin. "A camel went by," answered the man. The Bedouin then asked, "Did you see the camel?" The man replied, "No, but these footprints in the sand suggest that a camel made them." "Do you see these mountains?" questioned the Bedouin. He continued, "They are indicative to me that Allah made them."

Allah made these Stars,Mountains,Sun,Clouds,Sea,Rivers,Moon....!!!

If Allah not exist then who made these things Huh?

Allah Is Great !!!

These are basic and explained in science class. Stars are composed of Gas, Mountains made by shifts in the tectonic plates, Clouds are formed by water, and the Ocean/seas/rivers are composed of water which is composed of Hydrogen and Oxygen.

The reason people are religous is largely because of ignorance/not knowing these things.

Hahahahaha in which institution you know about these things and who told you about these illogical things........Tongue

clouds are made by water...!!!
U give water for making of clouds??
rivers, seas are made of water Tongue
Is this water given by you??
from where u get hydrogen and oxygen??
Mountains made by shifts in the tectonic plates....
who shift these plates You...Huh

Ok I'm done, go to science class or do expirments concerning these things(Like precipitation in a water bottle). It's useless talking to someone ignorant on simple matters such as these and wondering why their theist...

I could delve deeper into why your beliefs of a god controlling everything actually undermines the "glory" of such a god and is illogical, but I'll leave that to you as it's a waste of time speaking about such on a forum. Go research basic philosohpers such as David Hume, Kant, etc...

The problem is, nobody knows where any of the material or energy of the universe really comes from. All the theories we have about things like Big Bang are so full of holes that they are mostly empty space, like what atoms are.

Smiley
The problem with these statements....

Mountains made by shifts in the tectonic plates....

Is that they obscure understanding of cause and effect, and attribute things to a higher power, which obfuscates actual gaining of knowledge.

The problem with your statement...

The problem is, nobody knows where any of the material or energy of the universe really comes from. All the theories we have about things like Big Bang are so full of holes that they are mostly empty space, like what atoms are.

For me it's quite simple really, they've managed to make behaviour which otherwise would be considered a violent crime, pathological lying and brainwashing acceptable because an invisible man in the sky that only they can see told them to do it. The only reason people get away with it is because of their religion, if someone who wasn't religious used the excuses used to commit crimes they would be declared clinically insane, but wait, the very problem we have here is that there are deeply religious people in power! So no wonder nothing every gets fucking done, they're naturally covering each others' backs.

Quote
Everything that your heart says is wrong, its wrong. Like you said your religion say you to "If one doesn't go to the Church on every Sunday, he is a sinner". its wrong because your heart did not believe on it. Because NO one religion bound you to pray. There are out comes if you dont pray, but not the boundness.

Don't forget that they've made a contradictive statement about that for centuries, they say God is everywhere, so why the fuck do they need a Church?

Far worse than that, all this mindless shit resulting in fighting over the "Holy Lands", "Mecca", "Jerusalem", blah blah blah.
11509  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Why do islam hates people? on: May 08, 2015, 06:33:59 PM
.....
.....
The exact Arabic expression in these verses - indeed, in every verse that talks of the non-believer - is "Al-Kaferrin" or "Al-la-dhina Kafaru." The use of "Al-" or "Al-la-dhina" limits the verse (and thus commandment) to 1) a specific time and place in historyand 2) a specific group of people who were obstacles to the establishment of Islam in its nascent phase. It is these two factors that caused these verses to be revealed. Had the intentions of the Quran been to extend the application of these verses in perpetuity, it would have used the expression "Man Kafar," rather than "Al-Kafereen" or "Al-La-dhina Kafaru". The former, "Man Kafar," literally means any one who does not believe in God; while the latter, "Al-Kafereen," - the infidels - denotes a specific group of people: they who fought Prophet Mohamed in the early stages of Islam.

Moreover, the overriding principle which must ultimately guide our understanding of these verses is the constant Quranic reminder that good Muslims do not initiate violence against others so long as the latter do not provoke hostilities.

Quran 2:190 Fight in the cause of God those who start fighting you, but do not transgress limits (or start the attack); for God loveth not transgressors.

Indeed, according to other verses, even if a Muslim deemed someone an infidel, according to the Quran, he is still obligated to:

1. Behave with courtesy :
Consider, for instance, the following verse, which is supposed to instruct Muslims as to how they should deal with non-Muslims in the midst of hostilities (such as war): 9:6 And if any of the Idolatries (who are fighting you) seeks thy protection, grant him protection, so that he might [be able to] hear the word of God [from thee]; and thereupon convey him to a place where he can feel secure:
If Muslims are to behave with such clemency and magnanimity vis-a-vis the infidel during times of war and conflict, how much more should be expected of their interactions with non-Muslims during times of peace?

2. Respect his freedom of choice to be a "Disbeliever" - as this is a right bestowed upon humanity by God:
Quran 18:29 proclaims, "The truth is from your Lord": it is the free will of any person to believe (in God) or to be an Infidel (Un believer).

3. Even if a Muslim should be convinced that someone is a non-believer, still he must accept that his fate is in the hands of God alone, since no one human can condemn another - this must be left to the judgment of God.
Quran 88:25-26 for behold, unto (ONLY) Us (means God) will be their return, Then it will be for (ONLY) Us to Judge (humans).
22:17 Those who believe (in the Qur'an), those who follow the Jewish (scriptures), and the Sabians (can mean an ancient religion or people with no specific religion), Christians, Magians, and Polytheists,- God will judge between them on the Day of Judgment: for God (alone) is witness of all things.

As an atheist, I do not care what your old books say.  I do not accept them as having any authority over human conduct.  You do, that is your preference.  However, look at what you have done above.  You have attempted to explain correct behavior by way of correct reading of your old book.  But others view the matter differently.

It is not my problem if your translations from Arabic are poorly done, it is yours - not yours personally, but that of the Islamic community.  Let me give you a concrete example.  I studied ancient Greek in college, and in the first week went to the university library to see what actual texts there were in the language.   I was astonished to find that the typical book in Greek would be two lines of Greek, with the entire rest of the page filled with possible meanings and uncertainties as to exact meanings of phrases.  However, with these footnotes and additions, the job of translating the text was well done.

If your Islam pushes bad copies, then I think you should expect bad results.  If you think your learned explanation resolves the issue, you are wrong.  It shows the problem, rather than resolving it.

I hope that 500 years down the road, we will look at the current system and consider it the dark ages. Just like we look at medieval peonship today and cannot believe that such a horrible system ever existed.

I hope that the future will be such that liberty will be much greater, because the limit will be that a persons action cause no harm to another person, directly and measurably.

Paradise is where victimless crimes are no crimes IMHO  Cry

Or... The power that be pushing for a new world order would be in control 500 years from now and will delete this moment in existence had ever happened, since everything we do is digital. That, or a massive solar storm.

Harder to erase a 3000 year old pyramid though...

of course, if we start a thread entitled "Why do peoples hate Judaism Islam"  (full disclosure I am athiest not jew, just noting the vast difference between these two topics - attempt is made to make you feel guilty if you hate/dislike Muslim, but hating Jews is totally acceptable)

and use this content in first post -

I am here to just say one thing? Why do YOU hate Judaism islam? and you should really give a valid reason not a shitty one that says 'Because media'
and Yes, I am a Jew muslim for those who ask, just tell me, come out of your shell and say why you HATE it, and I could be here to clarify things to you.
Also here is something that most people mistake about Judaism islam is that "Judaism Islam hates other religions" for this I say, Judaism Islam does not hate ANY religion, but it suggests to 'invite' them to Judaism islam, as slowly, and peacefully, even if they refuse, you can try and try, until it's their choice, you stop. and for all the wars that happened, it's because the other religions decided to come into war on Islam.

If you need anything clarified, I am here to answer you, don't be scared, I won't be offended by anyone, also haters, you can reply, I won't care

Come and read the history of Islam Smiley
After reading the history of Islam u know about the Muslims...Smiley

We Muslims are believer of Prophet (PBUH)...Smiley
Who is Muhammad (PBUH)??

"He did not speak or advocate the cause of some particular race or ethnic group, but stood up for all humanity irrespective of race, color, class, language or geographical barriers. The Message he preached was universal, transgressing all obstacles whether artificial or otherwise. A Message so complete and comprehensive that it not only revolutionized the era in which it was proclaimed, but even today its timeless beauty has lost none of the original charm and continues its profound appeal to the human intellect."

Islam Is Perfect Muslims Are Not...!!!
Allah Is Great !!!
I will remain skeptical about these matters, although I understand and respect that others believe them.

But we have several on this thread who say something like "If a person is terrorist, he is not Muslim."   That was what I was questioning.  I do not think one can post facto of a terrorist act claim those who did it were not muslims.

From your reply I seem to get that they are Muslims, although very, very, very imperfect Muslims.  But I would like a more detailed perspective on this.

Good to hear you...Smiley
In my opinion the terrorists are not muslims and even they are not human as well Sad

Islam teach us a lesson of humanity.....Smiley

So...

In a Muslim society, are thieves who get their hand cut off Muslim?  Are women who are stoned to death Muslim?  In a Muslim society, is a murderer Muslim?  A rapist?

Physics dictates that explosive force would be required to blow 4 ton girders over 500 feet from their original position. You can play word games with your footprints all day, I never made any such claims.
Well, if the fall was ten seconds, it would need to be moving sideways at 50 feet per second, or about 35 mph.   That doesn't seem to prove the need for explosives.  Say something fell, then 100 feet down hit a section of the building that hadn't collapsed and spun off it at a slant.  Acceleration due to gravity is 32 feet per second, so less than 2 seconds and you've got the velocity, then just need to translate it into sideways motion.

Anyway, which is it?  Bad guys with bombs that throw girders 500 feet, of the building "falling into it's own footprint"?

I can't keep track of all the mutually contradictory conspiracy data factoids....

For people catching up, the situation appears to be this.

One conspiracy theorist on the thread (BADecker) argues that the fact that the towers collapsed into their own footprint implies explosives were used.

A different conspiracy theorist on the thread (TECSHARE) argues that the fact that the towers didn't collapse into their own footprint implies explosives were used.

Brilliant.
But wait, there's more.  No "controlled demolition" tosses 4 ton chunks of metal 500 feet.

So WTF?  I would like a clear and simple explanation of one or both or the best of these theories, because I truly don't get it.  And no rambling off into Evil World Overlords halfway through the explanation -we might be in agreement about the Evil World Overlords, but that doesn't have anything to do with HOW a building falls down or whether a plane hit it.

There has to be a way with today's social media to track down the guy that puts up the charts and ask him why he chose that order for the graphic.

You don't need to even ask him, if you look at the maths for these polls you'll find the percentages are full of shit, right below it says it's out of 1,000 polls, they could have just as easilly gathered a bunch of supporters to vote for the candidate they want in rather than done any meaningful polling.

The more you look at history and learn proper mathematics the more you hate these fuckers.

I don't see the point of the criticism.  Isn't the chart intended to show how several Repubs play against one Dem?
There's been more gruesome attempts to omit showing any of Rand's polling strengths while keeping the discussion and attention on Bush, Rubio and Walker, all of which will be a win for the establishment and war machine.
Got it.  But the spreads were awfully close and this is very early.

Regardless, yes there will be a strong effort for the back room manipulation.

No One hate Islam because Islam is the  religion of Peace,Faith,Equality,Brotherhood,Justice,Love...<3

Islam Give rights to womens. Before you all know what is the condition of  this world...

Islam is a complete code of life...Smiley

I truly feel that statements of this sort only represent a denial of the reality and do not help move the dialogue or the understanding forward.  Let me explain.

Is person XYZ a Muslim?
He self identified as a Muslim.
He went to mosques.
He was shouting Allah Akbar when he did his dirty deed.....
He associated with Muslims.

If you showed us someone who was banned from mosques or who was otherwise publicly identified as not being a Muslim it would be more credible.

In a Muslim society, are thieves who get their hand cut off Muslim?  Are women who are stoned to death Muslim?  In a Muslim society, is a murderer Muslim?  A rapist?

They are Muslim right?

So what gives you the right AFTER a horrific, purposefully public event to then claim someone was not Muslim?

And others seem to disagree.  For example the two thugs who tried to massacre people at the Texas Mohammed Cartoon contest, one of them is being given a funeral by a mosque.
And I assume that means he is being buried in accordance with Muslim customs.

https://creepingsharia.wordpress.com/2015/05/07/kansas-city-mosque-that-wanted-to-ban-free-speech-will-hold-funeral-for-garland-texas-jihadist/

Are all the violent people in Palestine who blew themselves up in Israel, killing innocent women and children, Muslim?

3.  Carefully planted explosives at or about the same level XYZ are detonated.

You realize that after the plane hit that building was totally worthless, whether or not it went down?  It would have had to be destroyed later as unsafe and dangerous.

So why is #3 a useful or necessary item for the bad guys?

It makes no sense.
