I still don't see why YOU are posting HERE

Because this joint attracts enough fellow anti semites for some reason.

I never, ever expected 25c to arrive in such a short time. We'll see what the other alts get up to, but I suppose it'll go back to the early thousands unless there's some excitement. Truly interesting things will come to fruition during the rest of the year.
11583  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin price drops with $350 in 24 hours, on: May 26, 2017, 07:11:46 PM
It means you haven't been here long enough. Eventually you'll look at drops like this and shrug.
11584  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: Crypto and Family Separation on: May 26, 2017, 06:27:31 PM
Probably Bitcoin isn't regulamented there, I believe Bitcoin or any other Crypto-Currency doesn't really exist for the laws of the country.

It could be considered a non real currency, like the money people have in online game accounts and when people get divorced they don't share 50% of game's money... I think you don't need to give any satoshi to your wife if you don't want, but you need to confirm it with your attorney.

Wrong. It's worth money, therefore it must be declared.

It doesn't matter what you have. If you had 1 million dollars' worth of WWE memorabilia that's a saleable asset. It's not a currency either.

Low volume compared to the other top 3 coins. We need more exchanges to allow XEM trading

It's always the way. Volume comes in waves, then it goes back to sleep again. I hope it manage to keep enough action going this time. It went from thousands last June back to 50-100 per day afterwards. It's just another pump and dump coin to most people out there.
11586  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: Crypto and Family Separation on: May 25, 2017, 01:34:28 PM
If you don't declare all of your assets during the settlement, and it well and truly doesn't matter what they are, then more than likely you'll be breaking the law where you are.

The issue of giving your ex certain percentage of your assets is if those assets are recognizable by law because I am sure if you are trading in cocaine and your ex knew about it, she won't ask for some powder as a form of settlement the same thing with bitcoin. If the law does not recognise it in your place of abode, then it does not exist in the legal sense and what does not exist, cannot be shared under any circumstances.

Utter rubbish. Bitcoiners need to let go of the idea that they're immune from conventional legalities or it'll bite them badly eventually.

First of all I am very proud to be a NEM hodler since the beginning. I had many doubts because of the slow progress but I have never sold big amounts. The doubt has gone away ( at least the most ) but I am still wondering why the development progress of the software is so slow. The current version is 0.6.87. And there was less action on the github repository compared to the value of this project. I found less information about a roadmap with dates ( or at least roughly release dates like QX 201X ). Any information that would eliminate my remaining doubts?

They don't do much or any of their work on GitHub. It's mainly via a private repository. Catapult is the big project and it'll come when it comes. It's predicted for later this year. I've seen some cryptic allusions to August but they're in no hurry.
11588  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: May 25, 2017, 12:15:54 PM
Out if interest if one of us here was getting a divorce and the wife has no access to the bitcoins how would this be resolved? How would it be proved you even have any?

Mine for example does not give 2 shits about bitcoin or even the profits until she sees it in our bank account. Until then it's all make believe. Now if we got a divorce I bet suddenly bitcoin would become very interesting.

Personally I'd deny even owning bitcoin. Wtf can anyone do? .

Now I'd like to say I am happily married and have no issues here and this is totally theoretical.

And gentlemand I am mowing the lawn tonight.

That's the spirit. Take one for the team.

As pointed out above, you have to declare everything. If you don't then you'll get nailed to the wall.

But in the years to come I'm sure there'll be plenty of husbands and wives who tragically lost their Bitcoin nest egg due to hardware failure, or blew it gambling, yet end up strangely affluent a few years down the line.

Awareness is spreading. I'm sure I've seen a screenshot of a dole form where they're asking about your assets and specifically mention Bitcoin.

"NEM was initially developed and introduced in Japan by Makoto Takemiya"
Maybe the point is in the words "in Japan"

Here's a question I've often wondered, why is someone with that name a cracker?
11590  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: May 25, 2017, 11:07:37 AM
We clearly have had different experiences of marriage.

You two should marry each other and learn something together. That's the beauty of matrimony.
11591  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: NEM (XEM) Official Thread - 100% New Code - Easy To Use APIs on: May 25, 2017, 11:06:46 AM
Some people are predicting bitcoin fall. I wonder how it will affect NEM price.

Interesting look at Polo charts now -- as BTC still dramatically rises, every altcoins hardly dumping ('red blood'), with just one exception - ETC. I'm curious, what's the reason behind this "opposite rising" ...

Because it's kind of like Ethereum but hasn't been pumped yet. That's the level of analysis that runs riot in altland.
11592  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: May 25, 2017, 10:59:02 AM
What are the other benefits??

On a Sunday morning, if your wife likes you, she'll come into your separate bedroom, peel back your quilted nylon bedspread and give you a dry peck on the cheek when you wake up.

And every July you're allowed to trade lawn mowing for sexual intercourse one time, but don't expect her to stop crying.

What % of the new buys are from n00bs and what % are whales buying smart?

How badly has USDT inflated the charts on USD with nothing more than difference between usd and usdt?

You only really use the money when you spend it on something.

Considering Japan and Korea seem to be leading I think it's largely noob city.

No idea what effect the USDT thing is having but it's certainly not a helpful one.

Do I see traces of fear starting to appear among the holders? This is how real corrections begin, with your attitude. When people start saying "i'm worry it's  gonna end soon" they are already keeping their finger on the button.

I for one couldn't really give a shit what happens in the near future. I plan to reassess after the next halving.
11594  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Using Bitcoin as down payment funds to purchase a new home with a mortgage... on: May 24, 2017, 09:27:49 PM
Do any of you have experience with this, or would you like to hear how it works out?

I suggest you investigate Bitpay over Coinbase. They're possibly going to be less anal as they don't retail directly to the public, they just process, and they'll have lots of OTC buyers. They seem to moving towards B2B so they might be more receptive to larger sales.
11595  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: May 24, 2017, 09:23:09 PM
Or exchange manipulation mafia bullshit.

Very possibly. We probably have that to partially thank for 2013, and China's subsequent shenanigans contributed to the price suppression with relentless dumpage. It would've been more reassuring if this run had started with a BFX that worked.
11596  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: May 24, 2017, 09:13:55 PM
I don't see what's healthy in this growth. I can't say I hate it though of course, but I'm much more sceptical about the "healthy aspect".

I think it's good old FOMO due to hungry new markets.

If you sat back and looked at the actual Bitcoin system, nothing's changed technically, merchant usage is becoming impractical, users are whining like fuck.

None of that's healthy. It may not stop it though. All it requires is more buyers than sellers.
11597  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: May 24, 2017, 08:58:13 PM
I can't help but thinking that this is going to end very badly. There have been minimal to no corrections since late 2015, with corrections becoming more and more minimal towards the current price. The price has risen 3x this year alone, and risen 11x since late 2015.

Who knows? But both 2013's high and subsequent hangover were excessive and that brutality was caused by factors that don't exist any more.

It's all still being made up as it goes along and visibility is ever growing. Still, if it's sub $1000 I'd be tempted to buy a little more.
11598  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The Barry Silbert segwit agreement with >80% miner agreement. on: May 24, 2017, 08:52:27 PM
So scratching each others' eyes out aside, can anyone here point to any further comments from Core or the signees about what happens next?
11599  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: NEM (XEM) Official Thread - 100% New Code - Easy To Use APIs on: May 24, 2017, 08:49:57 PM
Lon Wong talking about Consensus.

'THe quality of people attending are no more crypto speculators. They were big boys of the industry. No trolls, no minors. We got visibility with loadful of people coming to our booth. Thank you all for your support to make NEM stand out in the Market Cap chart.'

'It was like who is this new kid on the block? Let's pay them a visit.'

11600  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC market cap is now $40,000,000,000 on: May 24, 2017, 07:51:45 PM
Yes, btc is still worth a fraction of its true potential. Cap is the only number you have to compare it to giants.

I suppose ultimately it isn't any different than a tech giant valuation, try selling every single Apple share and see where the price finishes up, but I do wish there was another way of doing it.

There are degrees of silliness to it, especially when it comes to alts.
