11681  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Trading vs Gambling on: July 22, 2016, 05:56:38 AM
When you like to acquire more bitcoin and become involved in the cryptosphere there is nothing else to do but make skill bets and trade cryptocurrencies. If there was only a part time job that is available that will pay in bitcoins, I will take it. But there is none that I am qualified because most of them are for programmers. If I am wrong with this please tell me where I can find a job that will pay in bitcoins.
11682  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling vs Betting on: July 22, 2016, 05:51:39 AM
We all know betting is better then gambling because you have a certain degree of control. I wonder who of you have gone from gambling to only betting now much did your profits increase and what difference does it make ?
betting also can considers as gambling but maybe what you mean here in sport betting the results pure from those matches and would be different if you playing games at the casinos because playing such as dice ,slot machines, or roulette needed luck to do so also the house can manipulate the results from these games

In sports betting there is very rare chance to manipulate the result, it happening only fixed matches but the common thing is only luck to win from bookies or the house, I don't think all casinos are involve into this fishy game to manipulate the outcome because they have provably fair system to verify the results.

But like in trading, you can only win in sports betting if you have the skill. Only the top 5% will make money in it because they are better in making decisions than the rest of the bettors. They make money out of the losers in the whole of sports betting. It is also very hard to win because you have to gain experience and that will take over one year.
11683  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Ethereum Price Speculation on: July 21, 2016, 12:31:52 PM
The free market determines the reasonable price, and it looks like the hard fork was priced in before it happened. You do not see investors who were refunded dumping their Ether so far. The price of Ether even rose immediately after the hard fork.

That is because most of the ethers invested came from the people from the Ethereum Foundation and their insider friends. Why do you think there was a hard fork in the first place? Also it is against their self interest to dump those ethers now. But I feel sorry for them because their original plan with the DAO is not doable anymore whatever that plan is.

11685  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How to stay away from gambling? suggestions ? on: July 21, 2016, 12:08:24 PM
I think you can't stay away from addiction of gambling by this way. The best way to stay away from addiction in gamble is give your hand to the Lord.
It's all in your head that you want to gamble, you just can't.

What do you mean by this? There are also priests who gamble. Some of them love to play cards in private and play for real money with the politicians.
11686  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What you always do after you lose in Gambling? on: July 21, 2016, 06:56:35 AM
-First take a deep breathe. It's not easy when you lose your money.
-Don't bet more than you can afford to lose. If you lose a lot of bets in a row stop immediately.
-Turn off the PC and do something else. Try to forget your loss. Do something you like.

its hard to forget that we lose btc especially when that btc is came from signature campaign that 1month period. sad life. even in my dreams i always think of it. hahahah. i hate gambling

The best way to cope is to forget about it. There is no use thinking about it back and forth if you cannot do anything about it anymore. All you can do is to save btc from signature campaign again and go back and make your bet again. Who knows, you might be lucky this time.
11687  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Are you Rich from Gambling? on: July 21, 2016, 06:51:09 AM
I would wish that I was rich with gambling but that is not the case at all, I also do not believe that you really can become rich with gambling unless you play poker.
If there is is anybody that knows someone who became rich by playing roulette or dice or something then let me know.
Poker is a great type of gamble and this skilled base game will give you more chance to be rich unlike other games where the house has the advantage that we can only win and be rich when we have an extreme luck.

I like to learn how to play poker. The last time I tried I lost 1 btc because when I go all in the cards of my opponent always hit. I feel internet poker is rigged. I will try to play poker in a casino one of these days and see if it plays the same online.
11688  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: WAVES. Ultimate crypto-tokens blockchain platform. on: July 21, 2016, 06:47:18 AM
The Waves team is currently tightly lipped about the current state of the development. They are not giving out any promises. I like this attitude. Better not to promise anything and overdeliver then promise too much and disappoint.

Or maybe they think it is no longer necessary to hype because they already got your money. Cheesy But in all seriousness this is a cycle that I have noticed in an ICO. Too much hype at the beginning and then silence after the ICO. It is clearly them following a marketing strategy. But now we can only hope that they are silent because they are busy working on the project. Let's be patient.

They destroyed the token by releasing it without blockchain support. How stupid was that idea? They should have made a coin on nxt or countyparty network but not without a working blockchain.

But sasha was never a smart guy, neither he ever will be. His main problem its impossible to work with him, he will not listen to other people and making his egomanic thing - and then fail. History repeats, it will also with waves. What we got until now is a small feeling, how he will mismanage the plattform. Imagine just the fiat integration process. Sasha will chose the wrong partners or he will even get scammed.

Anyone who didnt left the plattform so far is crazy.  Unfortunately this coin even with his amazing perspective will never get a pump to double or tripple. Just imagine bioviva going on waves and all the bad publicity coming from the news supporting this conartists claiming they are doing genetherapy, without any proof its legal or scientific based.

Just read last sashas words on the newsletter saying he wants to focus on the chain, with remarkable irony. This guy is smart as a brick in a wall. The chain is important otherwise you cant trade the coins on the chain sasha, its main purpose, sasha. If polo says they will never touch your coin sasha, thats not miscommunication, you idiot!

I warned so often, at least in 50 posts and saying that it will continue all the time like that. Its sasha who will end this project in the toilet again, like all other projects on next so far, he bailout with waves.

Take you finger away, never thing about longterm investment, thats madness, listen guys to people who worked with sasha and are knowing him and are honest enough to open their mouth to say what they think really think.

This is very hard to hear. A coin without a blockchain can be erased and considered null and void. We need a ledger that holds all the inputs and outputs that are proven true and cannot be tampered. I wonder why Sasha decided not to use NXT as blockchain support for the ICO because in my research Sasha is a a supporter of NXT.
11689  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Hard fork on Etherium. on: July 21, 2016, 06:41:29 AM
That is some speculation. If it is an inside job then why did they decide to do a hard fork. That doesn't make any sense because the big investments in the DAO are from the people behind the Ethereum foundation and their insider friends. Owner of Coinbase is rumored to be one of them and Andreas Antonopolous is also allegedly part of it.
11690  Other / Politics & Society / Re: We Could Be Living In Simulation Says Elon Musk on: July 21, 2016, 06:38:02 AM
This guy is a fraud and a criminal. He is bribing corrupt politicians such as John McCain, to get favors for his firm (Space X). He is leeching the American defense and space budgets, by selling his over-priced and low quality rockets. Want to make America great again? Get rid of criminals such as McCain and Elon Musk.

+1

The rockets are over priced maybe because there is only a very small market for it. So SpaceX is forced to sell them at high margins. I do disgaree that they are of low quality. They have recently made their rockets land vertically on ground. I don't think low quality rockets like of Russia can do that. Elon Musk is also planning on sending a man on Mars of which the full details will be released this September. It is doubtful that they will make low quality rockets for the first man on Mars.

It's all fake, space is a lie; there are no rockets or satellites up there. SpaceX is 100% hoax, and a bad one at that too.

Thunderbirds are go, mothefucker! -- https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RHktxfeKEx8

What do you mean by "space is a lie"? Can you explain a little bit more? Because your statement is very vague. I do not know if you are serious or joking.
11691  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: To Gamble or To Invest? on: July 21, 2016, 05:07:31 AM
Invest is like another way in gamble, you dont know what will happen in your invest also it will consume much time
But in gamble, like sport gamble its easy to get win. Also it dont take much time to get the result

Yes you have a point. But when you invest it is much safer if you know where to put your money. In sports betting you could win easy but lose easy also. And even if you put your money on the winnable team you can still lose just like that. In investing you can cut loss when you realize you make the wrong decision.
11692  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2016 U.S. Presidential Election Prediction Thread on: July 21, 2016, 05:03:39 AM
Trump could win this one. He is gaining ground and the momentum is his side while Hillary is losing ground. But the election is still a few months away so the trend could still change. If the election is held in the next 4 - 5 weeks Trump could make it because of his momentum.
11693  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: RISE | ICO CLOSED | RISE WITHDRAWAL ENABLED | MAINNET LIVE | TRADING ON BITTREX on: July 21, 2016, 04:59:28 AM
Dev, in the OP Comparison with LISK, how many of those Features, Useability, Security, etc with Green check marks are now a reality in RISE?
And which Programming Languages are now supported in the blockchain?

Based on Github.... 0.0%...in fact, i feel terrible that i even supported and spam threads to support this coin... still waiting for my reward, in fact... you will be rewarded,blablabla... even no single RISE.... no single BTC... nothing... only the same amount of people that join the signature compagn without doing any promotion at all... luciky i notice the bug in their signature calculation else it was even less and they would have keep another 150k more, because rewards were more then 50% lower... give me a dev that doesn't promise anything but at least work for his coin then a dev that promise a lot and is only eating. Normally i never regret in promoting a coin as people reward me for this service but here.... i really regret it 100%...

Yes. They hype to the heavens when starting the ICO but now that they got your money they will be silent. But as I said in another thread I hope they are silent because they are busy working on the project. We have seen this cycle again and again in cryptocurrencies. Most of those projects only fell to obscurity.
11694  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: NEM (XEM) Official Thread - 100% New Code - Easy To Use APIs on: July 21, 2016, 04:53:58 AM
Once again im killing myself i never sold my stake when it was high and i could have bought back now.
However i did not want to take that risk if it continued to rise and it pretty much owes me nothing so i still have not lost anything.

I would have probably bought back when it was still higher anyway so would not have gained much.

This project has some real long term goals and there is no reason we cant hit $1 billion marketcap.

We should be worth more than steem as it is, i think once the hype dies off with steem, the markets will settle a bit more Smiley

It is this kind of thinking that the sharks are exploiting. They want you to take unnecessary risk and make the wrong moves in the market. They profit from the mistakes of others. So it is good to think of every scenario before you make a move.
11695  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][LSK] Lisk | Blockchain Application Platform for JavaScript Developers on: July 21, 2016, 04:50:08 AM
Poloniex off line Deposit and Withdraw???
message: Temporarily Disabled

I was about to highlight the same.

Anyone knows why? And how long this will last?

+1 Is it routine poloniex maintenance or they have any issues with LISK chain?

If they have issues they would have announced it. I think this is just maintenance and this happens from time to time. It is nothing to get worried. Poloniex is a good and honest exchange.
11696  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][ARDR][NO ICO] Ardor, or Nxt 2.0, a Scalable Child Chain Platform on: July 21, 2016, 04:47:54 AM
Thinking about LSK versus XCR, I think I will keep my NXT until the end of the snapshot

LSK has 31m market cap
XCR has 500k market cap

both are the same tech 1:1

that's 62 times more, yet the code is the same and in fact LSK lacks any programmers unlike XCR

This is a valid point. But let me ask you a question. If NXT stays at current price and Ardor is 10x more than NXT after release, will that argument be also valid in Ardor? Or is Ardor a much better technology than what NXT is?
11697  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [PRE-ANN] STRATIS | Blockchain Development Platform | ICO Starts 20th of June on: July 21, 2016, 04:45:03 AM
Hey, just to confirm it here, I will work on Stratis Bitcoin full node implementation if Stratis manage to raise enough for financing my work.
This will be a bitcoin full node, based on NBitcoin. Easier to debug, compile, and change on your own.

If less than 1000 BTC are raised, is Nicolas Dorier still going to work on and finish this project?

I don't think Stratis will raise enough unless they think the amount raised they have now is enough. But I don't think it is. the much bigger question is will the developers of Stratis stick long enough with little money in their coffers? I fear this will be another forgotten project with developers leaving one by one.

I think at least 500BTC will be funded, and that's enough, PR said that it is enough and stratis will launch 100%

I am not worried about if it will launch or not. It will launch. But with little money my question is how long will the developers stay? And if all the money is gone what is their plan B to raise funds? Not to pump and dump Stratis in the market I hope.

Good point, they have reserved 8M coins, if the project can continue, they can sell some for development money. And PR said 1000BTC can achieve ninja projects which are not shown in roadmap, I hope he is an honest guy.  Cheesy

What did they mean by ninja projects? I think this is very irresponsible for them to say this. It will make the project look fishy.

So they have 8 million coins in reserve? To do what? That has no value. They need bitcoins or fiat to continue development. Unless all that 8 million will be sold in the market. I hope not all at one time.
11698  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Ethereum: Welcome to the Beginning on: July 21, 2016, 04:41:23 AM
Wow, thats completely not serious to bail out a theft. I cant see ethereum having principles for a fair world. Rhe world is not fair, but we could make it more fair, and not looking how important or big someone is.

If i lose eth today no one will make a hardfork, bur when they lose it, they are making it. Thats not fair game. Changing the rules is

Will never touch eth again.

They fail either way. So the best course of action for them is to get their money back. The founders of Ethereum and their insider friends are heavily invested in the DAO. They can't lose all that ethers. But now that they have all their ethers back, how long will they keep holding them? They have to cashout sooner or later.

11700  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: LBRY CREDITS - Unmoderated Thread - LBRY.IO on: July 21, 2016, 04:32:18 AM
Hey - one of the LBRY team here.

Not going to debate but happy to answer questions or concerns.

Also please visit us in Slack at slack.lbry.io - we are usually around.

Lastly, we are most certainly not a 'scam' - you can agree or disagree with our ideas, but please at least read more about the team and project at both blog.lbry.io and lbry.io

Josh Finer
josh at lbry.io

I've looked at your project and don't see any positives, honestly.

It looks like some guy who has followed the coin market and knows what is hot cooked up a scheme to make a lot of money. He called some of his old buds from Rensselaer and sold them. My guess is that most of the guys on the "team" believe it is a legitimate project, but a few who are quicker are starting to see the problems.

The word scam usually conjures up an image of poorly dressed malicious people, but most things that turn out to be scams are just regular people who see a way to make money and to pull in people who are too trusting. You guys seem to have it arranged so you will make a lot of money, and you are all pretty smart and clever and plugged in, so it might drag on for a while.

What I've read on your site is well presented, nicely written, your people are smiley and smart and educated, some good credentials etc. All that is lacking is the actual substance. You take a lot of real concepts, some of them very timely like 'post scarcity' as it relates to digital things, and you mention a lot of big ideas but you seem to totally gloss over the places where you should be providing substance, such as what you actually offer over regular torrent clients. If people have to choose between a decentralized torrent atmosphere, which exists, and a centralized blockchain based app that forces them to trust you and makes you the Bill Gates of torrents, why would they choose you? It doesn't make sense. I don't see anything positive about your product except that it would satisfy some industry concerns about digital content, but there are a lot of negatives. You look like a corporate project at best, an attempt to circumvent torrents, or a kind of cheap quick money scheme at worst.

You can take some comfort that I am a cranky old guy who doesn't have too much education and your group is heavily schooled and successful, so maybe I am wrong   Smiley as I sometimes am.

Interesting. I have read all your posts in this thread and I have to admit that I now have second thoughts in LBRY. But let me ask you a question.  I would like to know what you think of alexandria.io? I haven't read deep into it but I think it is more or less the same as LBRY but it uses bitcoins as payment and also the florincoin blockchain.
