Given these odds betting YES is completely retarded and betting NO is likely best.

...so guess which side of that bet i'm on Wink
1183  Economy / Speculation / Re: The mood on: November 25, 2014, 08:51:51 PM
Zero might be overstated, but it will far more likely keep dropping long term than actually rising out of the current predicament. This forum is for me another indicator that Bitcoin is slowly dying, as overall activity seems to be getting lower and lower which suggests that many people have actually lost interest in Bitcoin. Bitcoin will probably be doomed to be a failed experiment, only to be overtaken by other crypto's. And then there's the looming problems connected with Bitcoin: one party consolidating 51% of all hashing power, miners dumping all the coins they stacked up by now, the fact that China still is way too important in turns of volume (although other crypto got that problem as well), the uncertainties regarding the lost Gox coins (if they ever existed that is) and above all two other things: the lack of real adoption as you stated and the inevitability that governments will simply hunt down Bitcoin exchanges and all other places where Bitcoins might be cashed in for fiat. Some of the diehard crypto-anarchists here should get out of their dreamworld and accept that uncle Sam will never allow losses in taxes or fraud in general, if it can be averted.

for sure you are right. definite sell. 100% never gonna be worth anything!
1184  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wouldn't it be nice... (the LazyWhale algorithm) on: November 24, 2014, 06:37:10 PM
Agree big retraces, but I think that's a sign of a bigger market. Those retraces don't look to be making lower lows. (IMHO) we shall indeed see. Happier to be weighted towards btc right now
1185  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wouldn't it be nice... (the LazyWhale algorithm) on: November 24, 2014, 10:13:44 AM
i still feel comfortable. planets are all aligning.

the 'excitement' of the bear market is giving way to the boredom of sideways. the bears once they realise there is no more profit to be made shorting will return to their caves.

once the fear of bear market is gone, then all the people that have been wanting to buy will start to jump back in. instead FOMO will move this market.
1186  Economy / Speculation / Re: [POLL] A little question How much btc do you have ? on: November 15, 2014, 10:14:56 AM
Edit: zero at the moment, just sold at $412, and very glad I did.  Look out below.

Why you don't HODL them ?

because if you do so then you would probably have to sell at $290 or $190 or $90 before lose everything, remember $1000 $800 $600? they are all gone, you won't see them anymore in this downtrend

At the end if you believe in bitcoin, the price doesn't metter  Wink.

sorry but the price does matter in the real world unless you are trolling others to hold "price down doesn't matter, however price up does of cause matter that's why you should hold"
permabull?

I told you if you believe in bitcoin , the price doesn't metter.  I think you didn't understand that  and please don't be arrogant.

idealism & solipsism perma-bull: if you believe in bitcoin then the real world is fake and won't be matter to you any more, you can live happily in your dream and imagination

why not just do self hypnosis? why trying to hold bitcoins and hoping to get rich quick then? we all know you do care about the price so much, so please stop pretending that you don't and stop lying to others with these ponzi scheme tricks

a little bounce: to da moon, get on the train! i am getting rich!!
fake recover over: the price doesn't matter any way
what a hypocritical person

Such wise. So vision.
1187  Economy / Speculation / Re: Sell off is imminent? on: November 13, 2014, 06:14:46 PM
are you sure? good sources do not confirm it!

 Grin

Bitcoin is not banned but it can't be used to pay for stuff, that's the reason why Baidu dropped it. Unless they changed that too at some time.

sometimes i feel like you can't use it in the UK either! but being the permabull that I am, I just take it as a good sign that it means we are still really near the beginning Smiley

1190  Economy / Speculation / Re: Hidden Agenda? on: November 12, 2014, 11:17:06 PM
Yet short interest on bitfinex is still floating around the all time high... if shorters are getting squeezed, others are jumping right in behind them.  This could go on for another $100 or so before they all learn their lesson.

I think that process can go on for a *long* time. The flip side of people buying all the way down from $1000, $800, $600 etc (thinking it can't possible go lower), is that shorters can remain convinced that it can't possibly go higher.

1192  Economy / Speculation / Re: ASK price > BID on: November 12, 2014, 10:10:01 PM
Right now the amount of bitcoin for sale ( on the ASK side of the exchange ) is larger than the BID side ( people willing to buy )
Everytime we see this we get huge declines... Not a good sign for short term. Short interest is now back near 65% which is the level is was before we took a dip near 300.

Hold onto your socks folks! The Amount of sellers is now over the amount of buyers  Shocked

In other words:
We are now testing how strong the resistance at $400 is... We can barely pass it looks like & so far we made one bounce off of it

How high do you guys think this rally will go? Last time 400 was the tipping point and we went right back near 300.. Will it happen again?  Huh

In other words:
I am all out at 383, I do not see 400 coming on this no volume dead cat bounce... I am looking to open shorts soon

1196  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wouldn't it be nice... (the LazyWhale algorithm) on: November 10, 2014, 10:48:37 PM
I've been holding out for lower to buy back a bit more but it feels exactly like waiting for $1 back in bitcoinica days. That never happened and instead bitcoinica swallowed my fiat.

So this time round I'll pin my actions on someone else's indicator so I can blame them when it all goes wrong Wink

Everything I have on bitstamp has just been converted to BTC. It's feeling like about time....
1197  Economy / Speculation / Re: Take a step back. Do the right calculations. Then stop panicking. on: October 30, 2014, 06:15:48 PM
I keep buying the dips too early!

Last trade in at 346 and then watch it drop $10 lol

All in all though still (re) accumulating. Sometimes I need to sell to cover short term cash flow... Whenecer that happened I feel nervous about holding less btc. It's a strange thing, especially considering there are still a lot of people don't even know what it is still. Let alone have an opinion on how much they should have!

Keep in mind that every previous bubble was created by Gox bots.

absolutely no human involvement at all... none... for sure... 110% goxbots.
1200  Economy / Speculation / Re: Totally confused with swaps. on: October 29, 2014, 12:33:54 PM

TL;DR lots of USD swaps (longs) means a lot of people holding BTC with borrowed money in hopes that BTC will go up so they can sell and pay back the $$$. But they're paying interest daily, and if market goes down too much they might have to sell their BTC before loosing everything, or if it goes down too much the BTC might be sold automatically by exchange in a margin call. Which might cause a domino effect. Price falls, person 1 gets margin called and his coins are sold on the market, causing the price to drop even more, now person 2 gets margin called and now his coins are market sold driving the price even further down now person 3 is in trouble etc...

BTC swaps  (shorts) are the other way around, people borrowed coins, sell right away and sit on fiat. Eventually they have to buy the coins to give them back (close their short). They obviously hope to rebuy at a lower price. You borrowed a coin from me at $1000, price goes up to $5000 but i don't care and want my coin back, so you're forced to buy at the market price. Forcing price up, and possible margin call on other shorts driving the price even higher...

BTC swaps have more than doubled to 18600 from the recent low of ~8500 on 24th October

Historically speaking, it looks like bubble territory for the shorts. Backed up by the fact that longs are at $20m which is a third off the july/august high of $30m when everyone was trying to catch the bottom.

Max pain incoming.... Wink
