11821  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: May 09, 2017, 03:13:04 AM
Is there any other exchanger like poloniex with btc lending option, that has identical rates? fucking polo is getting too scary.. every day they have problems.

That's a facility that's in short supply these days. I can't really think of much.

Poloniex must now be one of the world's number one targets for hack attempts and ddosing. There's so much money to be made screwing with them that they'd better become the mightiest of all or they'll be buried.

As ever too many eggs are in one basket.
11822  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: May 09, 2017, 01:03:00 AM
There ain't no safe deposit boxes within 100 miles of me, not that I trust the hosts not to make a giant balls up of it eventually. As ever, you're trusting someone else not to screw things up.
11823  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: NEM (XEM) Official Thread - 100% New Code - Easy To Use APIs on: May 09, 2017, 12:35:43 AM
I'm totally new to Trezor, what can it do to NEM? I only new this is a hardware wallet provider but what else can it do to make nem grow?
Right now I nly kept mine in my nanowallet and save all those privatekeys and the .wl file to a safe place.

It provides more security than most people can provide for themselves. That's enough for me.
11824  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: NEM (XEM) Official Thread - 100% New Code - Easy To Use APIs on: May 08, 2017, 11:34:31 PM
I need Trezor support for NEM soooooo badly right now.

It would be extremely useful. I presume NEM's main developers will be too busy for such a thing. Are there others equally conversant who'll know how to do it?
11825  Economy / Speculation / Re: The Flipening when? 51% Devexed Attack on: May 08, 2017, 11:23:20 PM
If such a thing really did happen we would see the varying factions dropping their ideological differences in the blink of an eye and running for the option the market wants. Right now that's Segwit.

There are an awful lot of people waiting for BTC to get its shit together. They're the ones who ultimately count and they have the ultimate control by voting with their money.
11826  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Gay "Recruitment" on: May 08, 2017, 11:03:45 PM
I couldn't give a fucking shit where someone chooses to insert their winkle. They're there to do a job. If they do it better than a genderboring CIS maggot then I'm all for it.

And most of the government ministers of these countries oppressing gay folk are probably snorting poppers and being fisted stupid once parliament is closed for the day.
11827  Economy / Speculation / Re: sub 1000 gone forever on: May 08, 2017, 10:47:07 PM
if anyone hanging out here since 2011 onwards and isnt a millionaire by now  they must be incompetent or something

The sensible ones won't admit it. But I've also seen extremely longstanding members coming out with pitiful figures. Just because you're around for along time doesn't mean you don't have bills that needed meeting back in the day.

Chuck in Gox, Pirateat40, BFL and countless other disgraces and huge success stories might well be thin on the ground.

Maybe the best placed people are those who bought in the 200s in 2014/15. Most of the shit was out of the way by then and it's also crystal clear that BTC is going places. That wouldn't have been so obvious when it was peanuts.
11828  Economy / Exchanges / Re: POLONIEX - NO WITHDRAWALS, TAKE CARE on: May 08, 2017, 10:02:57 PM
I dont see almost anyone telling that cant withdraw in troll box.

I've seen a few. Mods are preaching patience so there evidently is something going on for some people. Deposits too.

I think there's something a bit screwy with the site in general. My price ticker has been frozen for several minutes despite the market listings moving fine.
11829  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Vaccinated vs. Unvaccinated: Guess who is Sicker? on: May 08, 2017, 05:32:49 PM
Before the vaccination and modern medicine, we had a lifespan of 16 to 17 years.

I think world history would look a little different if it had been entirely forged by hormonal brats on the verge of carking it. Your figures might be a little off.
11830  Economy / Exchanges / Re: POLONIEX - NO WITHDRAWALS, TAKE CARE on: May 08, 2017, 04:57:07 PM
I initiated a withdrawal approximately fifteen minutes ago. It's now relaxing in my wallet. I am somewhat surprised myself.
11831  Economy / Speculation / Re: ALTS vs BTC on: May 08, 2017, 04:54:41 PM
We are talking about several $B of dollars here. "Just a whale" with that kind of dough? Has to be someone at the top 1% of the top 1% that's very bored if so. I can't believe in that, sadly.

These 'billions of dollars' mysteriously vanish as soon as there's a decent selloff. Check what happened on Kraken last night. It went from $90 to $26 or so in the space of a few minutes during their ddos.

Even the biggest alts are thinly traded, as is BTC but it's a little more robust.

My own pet alt gained and lost around $500 million of market cap in the last 24 hours. That $500 million is probably made up of about $3-5 million of actual trades, none of which ever leaves the exchange and none of which has any intention of actually sticking around. It'll be skipping on to the next one soon. It's completely disembodied money.

The sooner people let go of market cap as any type of measurement the better they'll feel.

Regardless of that alts are going nowhere.

11832  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Vaccinated vs. Unvaccinated: Guess who is Sicker? on: May 08, 2017, 04:17:00 PM
I fully support unvaccinated kiddies. I also fully support imprisoning them in internment camps for the rest of their lives to protect the rest of us.
11833  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How does Luke Jr expect segwit to be activated? on: May 08, 2017, 02:56:11 AM
Luke Jr should be taken with a grain of salt.

He believes blocks should be smaller.  He also believes the sun revolves around the earth.  Really.

You're telling me you haven't converted to full tonal counting yet? You're missing out on a whole new world of inconvenience and pointlessness.
11834  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: New to Altcoins (which to buy or am I too late) on: May 08, 2017, 02:03:05 AM
You're making the classic newcomer's mistake of worrying that you've missed the train. Nothing, but nothing that has gone up this radically will simply settle there. It was all done in pursuit of profit and at some point the people who sparked it will call that profit in.

There may well be further explosions but don't expect anything to rise forever.
11835  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What will be the next $1 Billion Blockchain? on: May 08, 2017, 01:48:22 AM
And it only gained a piffling $250-300 million or so in the last hour or two. It's time this measurement was taken outside and shot.
11836  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: NEM (XEM) Official Thread - 100% New Code - Easy To Use APIs on: May 08, 2017, 01:46:06 AM
Well fuck me pink, if the market cap isn't over $1 billion going on the ludicrous Poloniex pump at least. I think it's a completely and wholly worthless metric myself but still a bit of fun.
11837  Other / Politics & Society / Re: [French Elections] Macron wins ! on: May 08, 2017, 01:04:27 AM
Did anyone notice he walked on to the EU anthem at his victory rally and not the French one? That's not exactly an inclusive move for the millions of Le Pen voters.
11838  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: BTC dominance decreasing. on: May 07, 2017, 11:29:26 PM
BTC has never dropped this low. There has also never been an alt rally anywhere near this magnitude and by extension we've yet to see the subsequent bubble pop which may be louder than Krakatoa, but who knows? There may be plenty of legs left.

What people regularly forget is that all this stuff is still being made up as it goes along. Anything could still happen and nothing should be resting on its laurels because there's no shortage of pesky thingies nibbling at them.
11839  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How does Luke Jr expect segwit to be activated? on: May 07, 2017, 11:18:22 PM
By compromising? 95% is a totally impossible figure.

Litecoin got everyone on board by including a completely unnecessary block size increase. A Lightning Network would ultimately be pretty hopeless with 1mb blocks so perhaps a formally agreed time frame for a 2mb increase post Segwit would get enough people on board to make it viable with a lower percentage. It was enough to please all the miners last time funnily enough.
11840  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: NEM (XEM) Official Thread - 100% New Code - Easy To Use APIs on: May 07, 2017, 10:50:22 PM
I've been perusing YouTube for NEM vids for the first time. I have to say I'm pretty surprised at the amount out there these days. For so long it seemed so quiet. It's a lot of fun seeing more and more people catch on.
