Well.. At least my mom still likes me.
Oh, I didn't mean to hurt your feelings. I think it's the wavering that might have reminded him of yourself, but there's nowt wrong with that.

Tell me about Shroomy How did he end up? I think by the end there must've been at least three different people using that account. It would contradict itself and use completely different wording in the space of about five minutes. My first ever ignore I believe.

I have to declare myself a fan of this Jiang Zhuo’er miner/pool operator. This is a must read:
But as has been repeated ad nauseam, it wasn't Core as any type of entity that signed that agreement, just some people involved with it. Regardless, the willy waving is like trying to have lunch in an automated car wash made of willies.

Many new people have arrived since it went down. There'll only be dim brand awareness. Those who remember probably won't be too keen, though obviously it'll have to be whiter than white.
And I wonder how many of those 202,000 coins have been eaten up by expenses so far. It's all in the hands of the Japanese law. I can't imagine it's very flexible or entrepreneurial.

I've often wondered about the paid shilling thing. It's naïve in the extreme to think it doesn't happen. This is no longer 2011 and there's serious money on the line. But I also believe there are enough fucking psychos out there doing it for free to fulfil some dark little itch.

I think the only true thing that would push the main chain into a fully supported algorithm change is finding out the Chinese government is in control of Bitmain.
Half in the bag already? I can't imagine any large business in China gets anywhere without some government heavy breathing.

3-5 years ? I think NEM is forgotten by then. I mean, 5 years is 100 years in crypto world (like cat- or dog- years) Then don't come back here and be salty if you're all out long before then. Litecoin is over 5 years old now. It's only just about to get warmed up. The lack of vision and inability to see the bigger picture has already shattered a million dreams with Bitcoin. Check the endless numbers of threads with 'x price will never happen again. I'm out'. Crypto is a technology that'll span generations and NEM is a great version of it.

Welcome to my world.
Can I leave now? I'm feeling funny in my tummy. Especially if you try to make sense of it all with fancy trader lines and patterns it'll give you a headache price is in an odd spot now, unsure if it'll go up or down. I'd prefer the first one though. Oh, I've never paid attention to any of that bollocks. I assume the wiggly line connoisseurs are now rocking back and forth in mounds of their own droppings.

I don't have a sodding clue what's going to happen. It feels a little like we've entered an alternate dimension where sense has tailed off into irrelevancy.

dont be a fool. hold for a year then come bACK.
3-5 years. The way they're going about it is quite unlike any other crypto. That's an investment in time and energy that'll produce a game changing result but it takes proper time to reach fruition. As for the present situation, lords knows. I'll sit this one out.

So if I understood it correctly, bitmain has a remote kill-switch (effectively, since they can brick the machines with the firmware change) on 70% of hashrate? fanastic. What are we supposed to do now, other than change the PoW algo immediately?
It looks like it can be blocked with a change of code. And it also looks like it's an old feature named Minerlink that was never put into action but left there to fester. That's giving the benefit of the doubt of course. Regardless, leaving a gaping hole like that isn't doing anyone any favours.

Kudos to the 3-4k predictions. It certainly got there with a vengeance and far faster than I ever expected. I wonder where it heads from here.

What do you mean with"very minimal "? Should rich guys donate to them?
Nope. It just demonstrates the appetite for torrenters to part with their money. Here's the address posted on the Piratebay - https://blockchain.info/address/129TQVAroeehD9fZpzK51NdZGQT4TqifbGThose countless billions of dollars worth of content have garnered... Wait for it... 11 BTC in donations. Anyway, as I said before I don't think this is going to have anything to do with torrents. He probably wants to separate himself from that dark little corner.

I don't know of a high profile mixer with non-anonymous owners.
Err, that's kind of the point.
|
|
|
Interestingly, I realized that sites for torrents already allow users to receive donations in Bitcoin, so there are already a large number of uploaders who are familiar with Bitcoin, and who would be interested in this cryptocurrency.
And check how much those sites receive in donations. It's bleeding pitiful. And I assume most of the BTC sent is nicked as well.

I don't think there's any significant send limit, or I can't find it anyway.
The chance of Coinbase freezing your account for potentially manipulating them is well above nothing. Then again, if you're only leaving the Bitcoin for one transaction in there at a time, it's probably worth it anyway. I doubt that it's easy for anyone except Coinbase and governments to track your transaction history.
Poloniex still seems like a more reliable option though, especially since they're solely an exchange so they have no fees (I think Coinbase introduced some recently).
I'd say Coinbase would be very attuned to weird behaviour. Your average exchange won't give a shit where Coinbase might. There are far less anal options that can do the exact same thing.

http://www.antbleed.com/How cool is this? Bitmain machines have a wonderful back door. 'the firmware checks-in with a central service randomly every 1 to 11 minutes. Each check-in transmits the Antminer serial number, MAC address and IP address. Bitmain can use this check-in data to cross check against customer sales and delivery records making it personally identifiable. The remote service can then return "false" which will stop the miner from mining.' Probably the same for all mining machines but it adds to the Bond villain aura.

Using Coinbase as a mixer implies you might be doing things with coins that'll inspire them to freeze you anyway. If it's purely just to break the traceable chain I'd be looking at places that are less uptight just in case. I'd be doing it properly with Bitmixer myself. Do any exchanges link deposits to withdrawals? Or they all send deposits to a communal wallet?
Does Coinbase have any limit on sends?
On Poloniex at least I've had the same deposit address all the way through which is individual. The outputs haven't been linked to it. Dunno about Coinbase limits.
