No I don't have collateral - if you require collateral than I can't do a loan with you
uhh...  Dude, you have nothing to offer as a collateral?

As I said, I have a laptop and a phone but as I said I need/use those things for my everyday life. Anything I had that I could give as collateral I would have sold and just used the money for the project.

Therefore, you have no collateral, which would mean no loan.
What happens if you don't pay back?
Could the lender just chargeback?  You see, it's very difficult with paypal.

Paypal has a dispute system does it not? Or will that not last the term of the loan. If I don't pay back, then yes I would have defaulted. - hence the risk of the loan. If there was no risk why would there be interest? However, I do have a decent reputation here and have spent a decent amount of time on the boards so I won't just default.

He has a point. It's not like he's come straight out of newbie jail asking for a loan, and PayPal isn't like BTC, where there's no way to get your money back.

Who in their right mind would even consider this route? I wouldn't go through the hassle to file a charge back.

How much hassle is $350 worth to you. I got my payback from a netflix mistake after a ~5 minute filing a charge back. I would love to be paid $350/5 minutes... but of course I won't default so that's not a problem Smiley and you won't have to take that route.
122  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / [Updated] Guide To Pool Cloud Mining Protoshares - Also get free PTS! on: November 16, 2013, 05:20:11 AM
Note that if you try and spend $10, I'll give you .25 protoshare ($2.5@currency prices on btc38, which means you can get you first $10 of cloud mining done as a test for 25% off)

*Thank you to Super3 and Belltown for the original guide*

Hello Everyone,
Recently a thread has been published about mining Protoshares on the cloud - something which can be very profitable to do. Here I have taken the feedback from people in the cloud and have decided to put that all in one thread for you guys. I've also tried to make it a bit simpler for "newbies".

To start, please sign up for DigitalOcean using my referral link: https://www.digitalocean.com/?refcode=3a96071d7d5f If you do, I'll give you some PTS for trying it out:), just post your address in this thread. To get extra, let me know you used my referral code (and if I got the referrals) then I'll give you .25 PTS!

Guide For beeeeer.org
First you need to create a droplet. I recommend starting with as large of a size as possible, though the best started is the 4 CPU / 8 GB - but feel free to start with a smaller one. Just don't use the smallest because when I tried it I got an error for using too much memory. . Make sure to make  Debian 7.0 x64 your image. Once your droplet is created you should see a button in the top right that says root access. Click on that button and use your username and password (that are emailed to you when you create a droplet) to log in.

Once you have logged in type in the following code in order:

sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install -y git make g++ build-essential libminiupnpc-dev
sudo apt-get install -y libboost-all-dev libdb++-dev libgmp-dev libssl-dev dos2unix

git clone https://github.com/thbaumbach/ptsminer
cd ~/ptsminer/src
make -f makefile.unix
./ptsminer <your PTS address> <number of threads>

Go to http://ptsweb.beeeeer.org/user/<your PTS address> to see how many coins your getting!

If this guide helped you to mine some coins please send your tips to PqmyVWJtJgb2qudCiDyQvTMo7ibJfWiuvY

Thanks!

[Currently Paid Out: 2.75 PTS]
[Currently Owed: 0.00 PTS]

Guide for ypool.net coming soon:)

Protoshares already has

-Primecoin/Peercoin may get there: it has a good following and is a good idea.

Personally I'm waiting for CureCoin... did you know the BTC network is 8x the worlds 500 fastest supercomputers? - Imagine what that kind of power could do, this coin will have my full backing.

You expect us(Trademark) to lend a complete stranger 350 Dollar without collateral. I hate to destroy your prime coin dreams but not gonna happen. Unless someone is that generous.

That is the definition of a loan no? If you loan me something and I pay you something worth 1.2x the amount as collateral you just cash out and I have my money I'm effectively selling you the item with the option of buying it back over the next few months. When you get a loan for a house you don't need to give them however amount of money in collateral do you?

sent my coins to cryptsy haven't arrived in days.

you trolling or are you serious? Cryptsy has gone weird~seems like a GLD pump lab or something?...lol  Cool

Serious. sent 99.90 to D7EpB7Q7pqjGsEVgknv3E54SJ7fcKvfkAE on 11/9/13

Hasn't showed up yet. Had the same problem with GLD but then they suddenly confirmed.

The transaction date and time on the block explorer is 2013-11-12 04:23:42, so you should see it on Cryptsy.

I don't... should I contact them?

what does the wallet say? I sent some today and it only took about 20 minutes. remember with them you need 8 confirmations.

Nothing it just shows 0/6 confirmations.

This is a Cryptsy issue. I suggest opening a support ticket with them.  Smiley

It's working now.
