Many accounts, like mine, don't focus on earning merits, but giving them away.

Make a good pose post and someone will notice.  Smiley

The problem is what really qualifies as a REALLY, REALLY, REALLY GOOD post?

Bankera's ICO has reached 100 million euros! Thank you for the immense support you have shown us: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-NVfwvPYa4o

Bankera is really soaring. I'm glad I joined this project.

I have not received my airdrop but, someone I informed about the airdrop and who registered a few hours behind me already got his. Is there any chance I'll still get mine?
125  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Today's news: Chinese gov restricts Crypto again... on: February 06, 2018, 01:49:13 AM
why is China so influential on BTC market?
every statement always raises a commotion in the world of crypto

That's exactly what China wants to achieve. She's huge in the financial world and she's making good use of her size. Isn't she the now sought after bride in global business?
126  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Today's news: Chinese gov restricts Crypto again... on: February 06, 2018, 12:59:31 AM
From the S. Korea trigger zone an avalanche of fear, uncertainty and doubt is submerging the cryptosphere. We all hope for the best as we watch our dear coins bleed to coma.
127  Other / Serious discussion / Re: Psychological problems due to Crypto. on: February 05, 2018, 11:44:32 PM
It all started while watching a random ad, about the Price of bitcoin. Then I remembered that many years ago my cousin told me to invest in Bitcoin, but I did not listen, I had the loser mindset at the time.
As I read the ad I struggled to stand up. I grew dizzy, almost fainting. I laid in the bed and cried. I cried for several hours, to relieve the pressure inside my head. I am an agnostic but at that night I believed in God, praying to Him (or her) to give me a second chance. And I was hating myself, hating my entire life, of what a lazy worthless fool I was.
It was ironic because at that night, even though I started to believe in God, it was my belief in God which made me no longer believe Determinism. The idea we have "fates" or that our destiny is predestined, is what some religious people claim proves God. But at that moment I realized we live in a cold, hollow universe, and that I had no "fate", nothing I did in my life was meant to happen. All of my life was meaningless, because of my choices I am simply in a bad world, and that our world is bad because of everyone else's choices. All of us have to make a choice and that doesn't mean our choices will lead to a good or predestined outcome, there is no regulator of our choices and sometimes we receive fates that are not part of some "grand plan" to get us all to Heaven.

So at that time I made a resolution never to be a sop again, that I would get my life on track and start heavily investing and obsessing over money. However now that I am in the cryptogame I have noticed my sanity taking a steady turn for the worst.

I can no longer enjoy videogames, or watching movies, anything that doesn't have to do with making money feels like a waste of time. I view human beings as sheep and children, who don't understand the most important thing is to make money. I work over 12 hours a day doing nothing but related to money.

It is a bit like that Whataboutbob movie, where I start out as a sane and wise psychiatrist, while I steadily go down a road of insanity compared to those around me. That is what it feels like. It feels like nothing I do is ever enough. It feels like I can never catch up to the train.  It feels like there are 20 or more trains around me, and the moment I try to board one train I realize I missed another. And I try to research but I realize every minute I spend on research I am losing money investing in another coin.
And although the trolls have told me a couple good coins, I feel like it is not enough. Because I feel like Oscar Shindler saying "I could have saved more." I keep thinking that I could have invested in the crypto game a few months earlier and that I would be rich. Now I am getting paranoid there is no more hope in crypto, with all these BS government regulations I wonder if there will ever even be a future for crypto or will it be banned altogether, the moment I get in. I wonder if my consciousness is the same as everyone else, and that I am not special, because I am linked to everyone else's consciousness and now everybody's trying to get in, not just me, and maybe because I am not special I am a worthless person.

And then I think about how I spent $300 on shitcoins, hoping I will be a millionaire and waiting for the coins to take off, but nothing happening and dev's being behind schedule. And this stresses me out to no end, I just sit and look at these coins and there aren't even buyers of these coins so I can't get my money back. And then I think about all the coins that I did buy, but only bought $100 or $50 of each, and I watch powerlessly locked to my chair as they are mooning. I feel like Oscar Schindler where "I could have saved more, I could have saved more". I think about all the junk I bought in my lifetime that I never use, that I could have put towards crypto. I think about all the coins I don't know about, that are mooning and I will miss out on the profits until it is too late. I think about all the endless hours of research still not being enough, I think about all the times I ignored my psychic powers and gut instinct and lost out on money, I think about taking out money from the coins I believed in, just to put them into other good coins and balance out the risk, even though I believed in both coins. I think about how my IRA is stuck and they wont allow me to cash it and put into crypto. It is all so stressful for me and even though I am not losing money, I feel so terrible and paranoid because I know I am losing out on future riches. I have only put $1500 into crypto but I know I could put so much more, if I just had a decent job which I don't.
And then there's all these free airdrops, there are so many I can't even track them all, and they make you go through so much effort to sign up, sometimes I get paranoid and say "Will they correctly register me as an airdrop? Or will they not like my facebook because I don't have many friends, or will they not like my twitter because I don't have many followers. Will all the airdrops go through? Will I catch all the airdrops before they expire?" And the fact I already have successful airdrops is not enough. For instance, one airdrop I was late to and so I only got 1 coin, when everyone else got 100 coins. And it keeps looping in my mind, had I only been a week faster I could have got 100 coins which=$500. And the more I think about it the more sick I become.
It feels like chasing and chasing, a bunch of trains I can never catch, I see posts where people have $10,000 savings to invest, meanwhile my IRAs are locked up and I can't invest, makes me lose my mind. My thoughts are racing and I dream of crypto. But it's still not enough. I never have enough time to research or sign up for all the free airdrops. I get paranoid my friends won't support my referals to the airdrops either. And even though I have invested in several coins which are mooning, I feel like I did not invest enough. And then I think about all the failed coins I bought, which I could have put more into the mooning coins, and I say why did I not simply do this, makes me lose my mind into a downward spiral. Some days I go to bed and I say, man life sucks, I am broke, have no car, live in a trailer, only way people will like me if I am rich, only way I will enjoy a utopia is if I am rich, but it is so much work to be rich, it would be easier if I just was never born.

Basically, this movie started me on my steady descent towards insanity.

Agree with the most of comments, saying, that you must have had this issue before and it's not connected with crypto. The same issue might happen to you, if you'd be a videogame sportsman)

There's so much of my own story in your story, dude. You are not alone. We are all hoping for the best.
128  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Must Read: Newbies and Merits on: February 04, 2018, 11:25:22 PM
A lot of new users are asking how to get merits so I have compiled some "tips" that I have observed that is newbie friendly.
I joined just few days before the merits so yeah I'm one of those users that was not lucky enough to rank up before merit system came.
This thread is like Tips on how to get merits for us newbies.

As you can see I have no merits yet. I think I have already commented and made few post already. I tried to be helpful and answered some question few newbies raised but none of them are merit worthy as per the readers. I really thought that if you help answer some questions you'll get merits but I think I was wrong.

I have been a member of some forums in the past and they also have this system but a bit different, only mods can add merit and they will merit almost 100% of your post that answers questions from newbies or users. So I thought maybe I will get few merits by helping since users have been giving away merits to some post that I myself would think doesn't really contribute to the community and that it's not really a quality post and that those post that got merits are usually something that users have agreed.

My observation:

  • So I think to be able to gain attention to your post you have to post something that people can relate into(I don't think my post are relatable to those with smerts because they are those that are high ranked and me as a newbie cannot really contribute much that is relatable to them or to their likings)

  • If you agree on a certain post your positive comment should explain further why you agreed to the post make it more specific
  • For users that are poor in English like me, try to post something "helpful" in Local Threads (I post sometimes in Local thread but giving merits there is not really popular so this one doesnt work for me)
  • Post on something controversial, hot topics and the likes[/b]. Those Topics that gets much and attention and plenty of replies. Hight ranked guys and merit sources usually read those thread for argumentation or maybe just for laughs
  • Make your post easy to read and presentable, If necessary you have to make Use of the font size, style, colors and other formatting available in the forums
  • Always try to make post that can positively contribute to the forums like for example you want to report someone for doing shady stuff on forums. Make sure to create a post like that and gather evidences

Please feel free to add more tips on your observation I'd like to hear other observation from newbies especially those that already got plenty of merits legally (not given by friend/trading/purchased)

Thanks for these tips. They are indeed correct in my own view. I would have given you some good merits if I were merit rich like some legends here Smiley. All the same, thanks. However, I would like to add some tips I think could help in earning merits.

•Always be polite in your comments and posts. You do not need to be confrontational or abusive to make a counter point.

•Be factual: Factual accuracy is as important as your grammar and mechanical accuracy, if not more. So avoid vogue or assumptious figures when making references, otherwise you won't be taken seriously.

•Don't be absolute or assertive with your views. Always leave some room for other people's opinion.

Stakes are counted automatically on the bounty campaign site at icorewards.com. You will have to join the Acorn campaign at that site and easily manage your campaigns and track your stakes from there.
131  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: The trillion dollar question: What w'd be the impact of Facebook ban on ICO Ads? on: February 01, 2018, 07:06:24 AM
The war is on, do we sit and fight or cut and run? That is the big question to ask now. It's do or die for crypto lovers everywhere..

What to do: We should self regulate our industry and never leaving any room for the big brothers to come in with regulations. Any form of crypto currency regulations from the outside will be like asking the wolf to groom the sheep and will definitely kill the very essences of cryptocurrency which includes decentralization and privacy.

How to self regulate. One practical way to self regulate the industry is by using community pressure as instrument of control. The crypto industry is practically a cluster of communities of various crypto projects. Cryptocurrency forum administrators should set sanctionable rules and regulations that not only protects their individual projects but the cryptocurrency industry in general, and forum members must uphold such rules and norms so that we all have a duty to shouting down and bringing down fraudulent projects and practices.
132  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: The trillion dollar question: What w'd be the impact of Facebook ban on ICO Ads? on: February 01, 2018, 06:02:00 AM
I think there will be no total ban on Facebook as the news said they will just block those ads and post on cryptocurrencies that telling ICO and some free tokens and for sale.
but still, a cryptocurrency project development maybe post there as long as there will no money attach or advertisement on joining and investing. NEWS and DEVELOPMENT will still be permitted to be on news feeds.

In that case, the impact is going to be minimal on ICO hunters and the crypto industry in general.
133  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: The trillion dollar question: What w'd be the impact of Facebook ban on ICO Ads? on: January 31, 2018, 10:47:00 AM
People think this is big news but I really don't think it is. I never pay attention to the Facebook ads and never get my information off of them. It shouldn't impact the market that much, if at all. The decline is due to something completely separate.

I am one of those who think the ban will have significant impact on the crypto community. Missing out of a market of nearly 3 bln population is great loss.
134  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: The trillion dollar question: What w'd be the impact of Facebook ban on ICO Ads? on: January 31, 2018, 05:03:16 AM
I think Facebook will not do it because they raised much money from ICO ads. I look all ICO used facebook ads and google ads to promote their ICO and they paid to FB and google for that. So in my opinion not possible FB and Google ban ICO advertising.

From a corporate perspective public interest overides profit making. And going by the report it appears facebook was compelled by a toughening SEC stance on cryptocurrency.
135  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / The trillion dollar question: What w'd be the impact of Facebook ban on ICO Ads? on: January 31, 2018, 03:08:28 AM
but can you find out where the news is about the ban? Because many Bounty companies are made into Facebook. And while there is no blocking of accounts and posts for advertising IСO.

The ban was announced on Facebook's official blog some hours ago and reported by CCN.com news.
136  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: The trilliom dollar question: What w'd be the impact of Facebook ban on ICO Ads? on: January 31, 2018, 03:03:40 AM
lol if you need face book ads to alert you to new opportunities and you have not heard and looked into btc by now you are either

1. old and don't understand internets and puters

2. lacking basic skills so are probably broke with no money to invest.

face book was good but in the end just brought in a load of freeloaders and general undesirables for this arena

face book banning anything demonstrates it is more centralised garbage ready to be made obsolete.

Yes, I get your view but that's not exactly the point. We do not need Facebook to alert us of new opportunities, but we sure do need it to bring in new investors and new money into the market.
137  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / The trillion dollar question: What w'd be the impact of Facebook ban on ICO Ads? on: January 31, 2018, 02:54:37 AM
I think it will only feed into the assumption that its all a huge ponzi and scam, aswell as that we're likely to see less new money come enter the market. In the longrun it only means you can buy more of the crypto's you believe will have a future impact and make a larger profit, I guess.

And I think there is need for ICO companies to perform credibly and live up to there bidding in other to correct such negative assumptions. Though, there are bad apples spoiling the whole bunch right now Cryptocurrency and ICOs can still prove to be the finest innovations in the global financial system and project financing. All that is needed is for the system to rid itself of bad eggs and this it must do by itself.
138  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / The trillion dollar question: What w'd be the impact of Facebook ban on ICO Ads? on: January 31, 2018, 01:41:12 AM
Most of us in the cryptocurrency business anticipated and even predicted that 2018 could be the golden dawn of cryptocurrency. But things seems not to be going in the expected direction following series of unfavorable winds currently blowing against the industry. First, it was the aborted move by some authorities in Seoul to ban cryptocurrency trading in South Korea, followed by some pessimists remarks on cryptocurrency made by some high influence figures in the financial sphere. And then the record breaking hack of a Japanese exchange with about 530 mln dollars reported stolen. These incidences have shaken up the cryptocurrency market and significantly shrinking the total market cap from over $799bn in the first week of January 2018 to under $600bn at present. Now, the winds against cryptocurrency continues to rage as social media giant Facebook bans all cryptocurrency Ads and ICOs. Bombshell!

The trillion dollar question now is, how would these developments and particularly the ban on crxptocurrency Ads by Facebook impact our beloved industry, considering the fact that the industry and ICO promoters rely on Facebook to reach over 2.7 bn people?

139  Other / Meta / Re: Merit & new rank requirements on: January 29, 2018, 10:27:59 PM
To say the least, something of this nature was to come upon the community sooner or later. Increasing cryptocurrency awareness is bringing so many new users to this forum and everyone is heading up the hierarchy. Sadly enough the upper room isn't always enough for everyone on the pyramid and there has to be a way to slow down progressions. Merit is not just a sanitizer, but also a tranquilizer.
