Pretty crazy Baikal is charging 7K  x 6 miners when return per day has gone down. According to what to mine $45 per day. Then is you factor in Market volatility you may be waiting for ROI for a year or more. Greed is a terrible thing. Maybe Baikal is just trying to cash in.

It's mining much more than that. That is why.

No it isn't. At least anymore.

Right at this moment getting $80 on nice hash with bitcoin at a lowly $10k.

Let's wait till the beginning of February, when majority of batch1 is delivered and let's see the roi then Wink

Has anyone actually managed to find out *if*, in fact, this batch that they are offering for $7000 each contains the 2 new algorithms?

I've asked, but they are dead silent about it... Just replied with the general copy-paste pricing email... :/

Same here. I am very disapointed from Baikal. They definitely made a lot of money with the prices they took for the first two batches. They could have sold one or two more batches with the new algorithms added, and so the miners as well as themself could have made some good profit. I wouldnt have complained if they would have rised the prices to maybe 2000$ or even 2500$. But 7000$, that is 5 time higher then second batch and more then 6 times higher then first batch. This is just ridicoulous.

Now, after the new price announcement, it seems, they are not better then bitmain. Just greedy people, that dont care a shit about the customers. I wouldnt be surprised now, if the new miners would have the new algos and they would not give a new firmware to the buyers from batch one and two, so only the new customers would have the advantage of those algos. It would also not surprise me, if they would sell more and more batches until the device is useless like the Antminer D3.

Like already said, i am very disapointed from Baikal. It is the next manufacturer, that is not trustworthy but just greedy... I really thought they were different then Bitmain. That was obviously a fault...

The customers (our) reaction should be, that noone orders only one from these devices. Unfortunately there are so much morons out there, dont knowing what they do, so i am sure they can sell their miners for that price...

The big mining farms will get bigger and bigger... Long live decentralization...

I agree with you 100 %. Long live decentralization!  Lips sealed
124  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Baikal Giant X10 on: January 22, 2018, 11:44:56 AM
either this means the new two algos are coming and will be SUPER profitable so they want to increase price per unit

or they are just greedy assholes

new algo's are nist5 and groestl, both with low hashrate, what means that when all x10 join those algo's, profitability will go down dramatically.

what is your source for that? so far this are only rumors and noone so far knew anything about the hashrate.

there is information in this thread about it. Several guys found a part of code linking to those algo's. With low hasrate i mean that nis5 and groestl has overall low hashrate at the moment.

Delivery within 5 days is great, but prices are too high imho.

yes, and moq of 6 units is a joke too.

Fan speed cannot change the hashrate power.

this. and if your running it 40 degrees+ then youre not doing it right. read the specs. the safe max temp is 40

i adjust fan speed all the time depending on the temp since i live in south florida but I never come off 10ghs + or - a little.

as i understand, baikal states "operational temp 0 - 40 C" is ambient tenperature. Not chips itself.

X10 sold out

I have one Giant B left for sale out of two,

For limited time i am offering Giant B for either 1 Bitcoin  or USD 15,000

If you pay in Bitcoin you save money
Just 15,000 ? Greed is good?
pay through bitcoin and based on current BTC/USD rates you save $3000 PLUS

good luck with finding foolish buyers.

https://www.nicehash.com/profitability-calculator/baikal-giant-b?e=0.1&currency=USD

that profitability really took a hit over the last week. was up over 10k a month..... gl

Exactly. An the first batch is not even delivered to all buyers. Anyone who were paying more than 4k usd for this miner will have a hard time to make roi on them. I am not talking about 10k + usd prices, it's a big joke. I will better invest that amount into some coin and make 50 % or so gain, then wait 1 year for a miner to roi  Huh Grin
133  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Tokens (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] TenX: Making Blockchain assets spendable on: January 20, 2018, 02:17:11 PM
I wanted to order a TenX card, is it possible to order one or do we have to wait?

yes, i am interested too - is it possible to order card now, or we have to wait till the official announcement of a new partner?
134  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Baikal Giant X10 on: January 20, 2018, 09:07:48 AM
why do you mining on verge?
DGB is more profitable.

Verge is a bit more profitable as per est rewards 0.004645,
est rewards for DGB are 0.004459

Yes and no. The profit of DGB goes higher because you can mine it with 3 different algo qubit, myr-gos and skein. So no one algo gets flooded. If you use profit switching it will always stay on the most profitable algo between the 3 and you end up making much more. Currently making 75-80 US per day mining dgb.

Can you point me in the right direction on how to set up the x10 with auto profit switching? Is it through simple miner or how do you do it?

you can do that on a miningpoolhub.
135  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Baikal Giant X10 on: January 19, 2018, 03:54:19 PM
anyone having the issue that the webgui and ssh are not reachable anymore but ping still works ?

Yes, you have to set static ip address in your X10 unit.

I have the same issue with a static ip address....

How did you set static ip address?

check there is information in this thread how to do that via ssh. Also it is possible to write it into sd card, but in that case, you need to dissamble the miner.
136  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Baikal Giant X10 on: January 19, 2018, 09:04:04 AM

PW on the web GUI won't help you one bit if you have not changed the Linux user passwords.

All they would need is network access to the miner.  Files can easily be changed with scp (sftp) etc...

How can you change linux user passwords?
137  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Baikal X10 issue / not reachable on: January 18, 2018, 02:15:47 PM
Hi all,

i have a Baikal X10 after few hours the X10 it not reachable via Web Interface and in Nicehash itīs also marked as offline. I can see that the miner is blinking red / blue.

Any ideas ?

Thanks a lot

Marcus

Check miners ip adress with baikal scaner or turn it off from electricity wait for 5 minutes and try to conect to interface again.
138  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Baikal Giant-B on: January 17, 2018, 03:39:30 PM
For SALE
Giant B Miner : USD 15,000  (limited quantity of  2 units available)

Giant X10 Miner:  USD 10,000 (only 1 unit available)

Here are the marketing pricing as mentioned by bittawn too:-

asicminermarket: 20k (selling average of 10-15 units per day at this price)
bittawn: 15K
Itopshop: 16k (and sold out at that price)
Coinminer: 16.25k (and sold out at that price)
Ebay USD 25000 and above.

Benefit i can offer to fellow miners:-

When sending i will declare it a gift worth $500, so when you get you will be saving atleast USD 3000 to USD 5000 in custom duty and taxes.

As citronic said

the Giant B is no ordinary miner

Baikal products are legendary good quality and stable

anyone owning these gems will ROI very quickly

what price would one pay to become a lucky Giant B owner?

the answer to that is subjective...... unless we can predict the future

for all we know 15k or 20k maybe too cheap... if the there is NO batch 2 of Giant B.

At $15,000 , what do you think the ROI will be ?     The hashrate of LBRY has dropped but the difficulty has risen .  The price of the coin also has dropped 40%.

Exactly, even in this crashed market the monthly profits are USD 4500, so i guess less than 4 months and all of us are confident BTC will jump back within 1 month and things will go back to normal and so will the price increased.

Just do the maths yourself, i am not pushing anyone for buying it.

I'm a bit confused here. Weren't you excited to receive that Knock on the door from DHL so that you could start mining with your B? Was your intentions to resell this unit? Please excuse my question I'm just curious. Thanks!

Diff increased a lot for baikal b algo's and at the moment just a part of batch1 is delivered. So she wants to sell absolute miners for a joke price to the buyers who can not count. Simple Wink
139  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: First Asic for SIA - Obelisk SC1 on: January 17, 2018, 03:27:48 PM
It's not over until it's over....

From SIA developers regarding Bitmain Asics...

We prepared for something like this by adding an extra feature to the SC1. We can do a soft-fork that slightly changes the PoW algorithm which would invalidate the bitmain ASICs, but allow the SC1 units to continue working.

Let the games begin!

Nice move from SIA devs!  Grin

Igotek,

what are realiable temps for chips and pi mining quark/qubit?

Thanks.

Try to keep temps at 40 c and under it. But there is no problem if it is 60

Thanks. My pi temperature is arround 46 - 50 C, but i think it is good temperature, right?
