https://www.nicehash.com/profitability-calculator/baikal-giant-b?e=0.1&currency=USD

that profitability really took a hit over the last week. was up over 10k a month..... gl

Exactly. An the first batch is not even delivered to all buyers. Anyone who were paying more than 4k usd for this miner will have a hard time to make roi on them. I am not talking about 10k + usd prices, it's a big joke. I will better invest that amount into some coin and make 50 % or so gain, then wait 1 year for a miner to roi  Huh Grin
I ordered two and have payed for each one for 10000$, the factory told me that they will send them by end of February.
Now I'm wondering if its still "profitably".... first calculation with nicehash shows me a big difference compare now, or it will be the same as we saw with the D3

Yoh, 10000$.... that's ridiculous...  in any case, Profitability might go up if the coin running of the algorithm goes up, like what we're seeing with the X10.

I wouldn't be paying 10k now for one of these. Especially with end of Feb delivery. Profitability has dropped and the usual first come get the goods and rewards. Nethash is increasing daily on all the coins this miner does.

Maybe I would pay 3k at most any more and you have a really long ROI

Paid 10k from the factory, ie Baikal???

Dude... Baikal's published sell price is 3600$ each not 10k.

Btw, last year same arguments on the influx of L3+ into the mining scene..... 1 year later, the L3+s are still one of the best Asics performer in the farm.

The X10 and GiantBs with multi-algo capabilities and the auto-switching option in the Baikal menu itself -- that for me is the real deal with these miners -- https://www.nicehash.com/news/114

That's to much of a premium, even asicminermarker has come down to 11999 and they are in stock now.

Ah thanks. I see on their site it's also on sale now. Strange that they didnt announce. I wonder if they added the 2 new algorithms to X10 already...

Hi,

I am very new to mining and lucky enough have Baikal Giant B arrived today thanks for ITOP. I connected it to Nicehash as they told me it is good for beginners. The issue I have is huge difference between miner speed in the miner status page and nicehash accepted speed which is only 1.5 GH...
Please i need help and advice....

What nh shows is crazy, plus they are switching you around a lot. Wait a while, calculate eaarnings, divide by hours. If it's still low try switching algorithms.

Another happy customer of Baikal's. I ordered directly and was updated every step of the way.

Mine have been hashing as advertised, > 40 GH per Giant B for Lbry:

Had to set these up in the kitchen, running out of circuits to use:

These were my first ASICs and setup/configuring computer side was 10 to 15 minutes (mostly reading). If I had to do it again, which I will later tonight at another location, perhaps 5 min of computer work, tops. Scary, because this means anyone can mine with ASICs.

Quality? As expected. Ultimately, time will tell.
Noise? Sounds like a vacuum cleaner, @ 74 decibels for each.
Heat? Very little.
Worth the investment? So far, yes. Substantial resale value at x3 cost or more of batch 1 cost. Earnings > GPU rig yet less size/heat/energy.

The other big plus for these miners are the multi-algo support.

My group has a lot of Baikals - and I must say....if you take good care of them, they work stable & cool -- and with very good technical support. Ask them to send you the "Baikal Monitor Utility" - its a slick Windows utility and identifies all types of Baikal models, does resets, change pools etc all done in a single dashboard.

Thanks a lot. I switched algorithms and only pascal seems working with NH accepted speed between 30 to 40 GH/'s ($30-$45 per day). Other algorithms less than 1.85 GH/'s.  What should I do next?
