Check here. It is ongoing. Please be patient. Dev is doing it manually. There is no live exchange yet so no-one is really losing out unless you want to sell before exchanges open.

UPDATE:

The Javascript Library has now been built. It's available on github - https://github.com/kobocoin/bitcore-lib-kobo

I've built the initial browser bundle kobocore-lib.min.js and given the Bitsoko dev details of where to get access to it. He'll let me know if there's any issues with it or he's not happy with anything. Hopefully we'll soon be on the Bitsoko platform. I might even consider a press release once it happens Cheesy

From tomorrow I'll get started on the Electrum server. I've been considering setting up a new DNS server (dns3.kobocoin.com) so this might be a good opportunity to get that done. Electrum is quite resource intensive so might be best locating it on it's own server. I'm hoping I can get that done over the weekend and have Electrum ready for next week.

Then we'll be on UberPay.io. If you haven't got an UberPay wallet on your android phone I'd suggest you goto play store and try one out. You'll soon be able to store your KOBO on it. UberPay is also developing an iOS offering. Whether it gets on there is another point to discuss. Apple aren't very crypto wallet friendly right now! Price and news checkers, yes. Wallets, no!

Good Luck UberPay!

ICO ENDED

It is now midnight (just after) GMT, London and the ICO page is no longer available. We will update in the morning and bring you the final results and put up a new distribution page with the final numbers. Good night for now and we'll see you in the morning.

WooHoo! Congrats EBK1000 and Congrats Mojo Community and all Mojo Supporters!

A very successful ICO Smiley

How many ppl on your team? Your going to need to expand at some point.

If anyone is reading that can help Tribesman it is definitely worth your time.
i've followed so many coins over the years (this is not my usual acct) and it's rare to have a dev be this constantly involved and
pushing forward at such a pace.

I'd consider putting up a bounty if someone serious comes along. Maybe 50k-kobo to complete something like rootstock.

As far as I know you could use kobo as entry credits like Factom has, just anchor into the BTC blockchain.

Thanks. At the moment it's just me, but there is always help from other devs going on behind the scenes. There's a lot of friendly and helpful devs out there. There can definitely be a bounty for something like a rootstock type implementation.

At the moment I need to get our js libs and electrum server sorted out. There are so many developments I'd like to get into including getting into Raspberry Pi once rokos flavours comes out. It's hard finding time with a day job and flying up and down the UK every week, but everything that's needed will be completed.

Ya that's a busy work schedule!

I should have been clearer Smiley i'll put up 50k on completion.
Thanks Smiley

I know that's what you meant but rootstock is a massive project. It can be cloned and configured for kobo for 50k once it's released open source, but not for a build from scratch. It's too big, and you'll find it very hard to find that level of expertise just wandering around. They are some serious black belt coders.

Update

Kobocore-lib (our javascript client libraries) has now been built. I now need to:

- Build the browser bundle
- Build a sample webpage and test
- Test it out by creating a few offline addresses and some other tests

Once this is done, I'll post the results here and update the git repository.

I'll then get the libraries to Bitsoko to include Kobocoin on their platform.

After that I'll get onto building our Electrum Server so we can get onto UberPay.io

With javascript client and electrum server built I'll then start looking into getting an iOS wallet built and released. With the electrum server online I'll be able to investigate if it can be used to make the mobile iOS wallet (and possibly android) more lightweight than the curren android wallet.

After that I want to investigate if we can implement something like RootStock (http://rootstock.io/). Rootstock is an open source BTC sidechain that offers smart contracts, near instant payments and higher scalability for the bitcoin blockchain. It might not be possible, but it's worth investigating.

I'm also considering whether to bundle all these recent and near future developments under a unified platform and calling it Koboko. A platform that interested parties, merchants, organizations etc can use to harness the features of the Kobocoin blockchain and currency. We'll see. It's just an idea right now.

Hopefully I'll soon be posting some screenshots of how testing the client libraries is going.

OK is Honored with the new cross collaboration with Kobocoin:

Congratulations to KOBO for claiming a "Permanent add promo"
showing Real commitment to their communities to support long term adoption.

Kobocoin is getting integrated in the base coins for all coming ROKOS flavors releases for IoT devices.

What is ROKOS?
http://rokos.space

Thanks so much OKtoshi

I am REALLY excited about this. I think ROKOS is one of the most promising projects in crypto. To be able to get a 'Permanent add' is overwhelming. I'm so happy right now (I'm sure trading volume will bring me back down to earth).

People are talking and stressing about IoT, but you're out there cracking it! Cheesy

And with Raspberry Pi porting, it gives Kobocoin a real edge in our home market where the Pi is widely used as a training tool (https://vimeo.com/84228950) and demand is growing (https://www.techvoize.com/news/south-africa-growing-demand-raspberry-pi-sa-1226).

I'm really looking forward to working with ROKOS.

Looks like our volume is now coming from CoinExchange.io which has just been added to exchanges list on CoinMarketCap

We're the top coin on CoinExchange at this time. That's not too bad. CoinExchange must be happy with us (for now). I've sent them a congratulations tweet now they've been added. It will increase use of their exchange. It's an easy to use interface. Could do with quicker, more reliable updates, but I am definitely not complaining!

nothing to write home about, 85% of that volume came from only 2 trades:

sell     0.00000250     228865.36609200     0.57216342
sell     0.00000250       86965.70000000     0.21741425

I'll take it. It's better than 0% from 0 trades.

Our custom paper wallet generator is now ready. It's also ready for integration with the main Kobocoin.com site but I've got a flight to catch so it'll just have to wait!

Take a look http://kobocoin.com/walletgenerator/

Anyways, here's a boring screenshot. If you click on the 'Kobocoin Home' tab, You'll see how it integrates with the main site. I just need to update the menus on main site then it's done. I'll also get it onto github soon so it can be used offline. The repo is created, I just need to perform a commit.

QUICK (semi)UPDATE:

As well as building the JS Client libraries, I'll also be building an Electrum Server for Kobocoin. That will also open up a lot of new doors to development.

And there's also another platform I want to get us on that will be very exciting for future developments. Just waiting to hear back from the project team. No, it has nothing to do with Azure! Cheesy

Kobocoin Paper Wallet Generator Now Available

I had a few hours to spare so got the paper wallets done. They'll be supported on the site WalletGenerator.net https://walletgenerator.net/. I need to update the devs to get it added but as you can see it's working. I tested quite a few addresses so I'm happy to get it out.

I've uploaded the entire site to the Kobocoin website at following address

http://kobocoin.com/walletgenerator/

Have a play with it (Kobocoin is already from the list on the right hand side), but don't use it to generate any wallets to store KOBO on until I've uploaded the zip to github and you can generate the addresses offline.

I'm going to use it as a base for building a custom paper wallet generator for us integrated into the main website with standard KOBO colors. That might take some time. I'll update you once the WalletGenerator.net site is updated to support KOBO.

This coin looks interesting particularly with the high usage of similar mobile apps in Africa.

What I can't understand is why any coin would want 10% growth per year for stakers. Nothing grows at 10% year after year. This sort of growth seems out of touch. But good luck with the project
Thanks for the interest in the project.

There was a time not so long ago that bank savings accounts were offering 4-6% growth per year. 10% is meant to encourage people to get financially involved with the currency and consider holding on to it rather than immediately cashing everything straight out to fiat.

I don't see it being out of touch. It's meant to be a very enticing incentive to get involved with Kobocoin. We have to offer more than fiat currencies are prepared to offer or what's the point?
137  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [KOBO] Kobocoin - An African peer to peer payment/micropayment system on: March 28, 2016, 01:42:44 AM
It would be good to put up some coins on https://yobit.net/en/freecoins/ if someone is able to

I will get this done

Done. 0.05 KOBO paid out every 3 hours which is a possible 0.4 KOBO per day. Looking at some of the other freecoins rates on the list, the KOBO freecoins rate is WAY overgenerous!

Hopefully it'll encourage more interest and possible volume. I've pinned it as a tweet. I'll leave it pinned for 24 hours to encourage some retweets.

Don't forget that you can also trade BTC/KOBO on CoinExchange https://www.coinexchange.io/market/KOBO/BTC. KOBO volume on CoinExchange.io is very healthy at this time.

Update:

The x15-hash for node.js is now built. I've uploaded the code to github and published it to npm.

github - https://github.com/kobocoin/node-x15-hash
npm - https://www.npmjs.com/package/x15-hash

Next is to fork bitcore-lib, build the client js libraries, and make sure they work.
