webiste is down  Huh
I've been having some technical problems over the last few weeks but the website should be back up.

Looks very interesting, not sure how I missed this one

Community looks active and dev seems to be very consistent

Going to read some more and likely support this project!
Thanks! Apologies for the delay.

I'm in the process of adding more features to the mobile wallet. I want to add a news & feed reader feature and see what else is possible once the feed reader is added. It's a shame we've been delisted from Bitrex but if volume picks up they'll be happy to list us again.
203  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [KOBO] Kobocoin - An African peer to peer payment system on: December 14, 2015, 11:17:29 AM
I've emailed Bill. Unfortunately KOBO-BTC is not generating the minimum 0.2 BTC daily and will be delisted. It's best if everyone withdraws their KOBO as soon as they can to be safe.

There was reasonable activity until a few weeks ago. Some large sells just killed it off. It's a shame. It was an upward trend.

We still have YoBit, and I've been contacting Poloniex to see if we can secure a listing. No promises.

It sucks, but it is what it is, thanks for keeping up updated, will withdraw my kobcoins to my wallet, perhaps sometime in the future when the kobocoinball starts rolling, bittrex becomes a viable option again. I for one will keep supporrting Kobocoin till I die  Wink
Thanks for the support. This is a dip. It's an issue with a few PoS coins (no miners to give constant market support) but we will get through it. The wallets will be updated in the new year. I know my marketing skills are lacking but once the wallets have news (and hopefully crypto stats) added to them I'll make sure we have a big push to make the wider community aware of the advancements.

New KOBO Faucet

Kobocoin Faucet

OP and website will be updated to reflect this addition. I'm considering setting up a new twitter account to tweet this out on a cycle. Will do that probably over the weekend.

New KOBO Block Explorer

Kobocoin Multifaucet Explorer

I'll donate some KOBO to the faucet once it finishes syncing (not fully synced yet). The Kobo ABE explorer still exists but this new explorer has a richlist feature.

still no rich list?  .. what happened to the blockexplorer link? .. thanks!
A new explorer and faucet is on it's way

NB - I hope it's to your liking.

any news for kobo?
if this coin would get the right marketing and dev push it could be much higher.

I'm looking into flym - https://github.com/FredJul/Flym - I want to incorporate it as a newsreader into the wallet. There's a lot that can be done with multiple feeds into the wallet. I'm hoping it will provide a lot of possibilities for the future.

I work away from home right now which is slowing things down. Also, my server had a disk crash recently which will require a brand new disk and complete rebuild. Once I get the server up and running again I can start looking at how to get the newsreader incorporated (I was thinking of paying for development but it's a very expensive option and I'm not rich). I'm not steaming ahead with it just yet. I'm spending a lot of time thinking about how I want it to operate. I don't want to just tack it on.

I understand what you're saying about marketing and a push but it doesn't always work that way. Marketing can be a double edged sword. I've been told in the past to concentrate on kobo and not look at the fortunes of other projects, but if you do look around at what has actually happened with so many other cryptos, you'll see that those things can have a very temporary effect. There's a lot to learn from the ups and downs of other projects. I'm hoping that once things have been further developed on the mobile wallet it will generate lasting interest in what's being done. The microtransaction feature of the wallet will be highlighted, but I'm also aiming for the wallet to be an app that's more than just a crypto wallet.

As you can see below, it's paid up till 19th January, 2016. I'm not sure what's going on.

Still waiting on a reply.

any problem with the block explorer? .. am not getting the  results when I click the links to blockchains, richlist  https://www.blockexperts.com/kobo
http://blockchain.kobocoin.com - I don't know what happened to blockexperts

where's the rich list? ... thanks!
The rich list feature is not available on the Abe explorer I built. I'm already in touch with blockexperts to find out what's wrong with the explorer that was purchased at launch. It's also the explorer used by coinmarketcap. I haven't heard back from them. Sent them a message a few days ago when you first asked.
211  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Choose the most used type of wallet on: November 15, 2015, 02:02:07 PM
I only use Schildbach mobile wallet and cold storage. I should be more trusting and consider online wallets but I just can't. If I lose my BTC I want to be the person responsible for the loss, not some hacker somewhere.

Hi,

Is there still a dev for the coin?  If so, please email support@bittrex.com and let us know what's going on with the coin. We'd like to keep it listed if there is still active development.

Thanks,
Bill

215  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: CRYPTSY stopping withdraw locking accounts without notifying users! Class Action on: November 10, 2015, 03:25:01 PM
yesterday.
Well over 1btc.

This is just a small thought. but why not buy up idk.. doge/pos alt send it over to shapeshift and cash out that way. idk. just example.
Just get verified follow the program and chill ..
shit happens in cryptos, but making a massive huge deal out of it A) will not help you B) in this case is not answer.
Did you withdraw the BTC in BTC, or did you trade your way out of it (as you're suggesting)?

This really is a major issue with crypto. We want and need to encourage adoption but the systems for trustworthy usage don't seem to be in place yet. If people on this board are struggling with cryptsy, then what about someone new to the crypto industry who has nothing to do with hardcore technology in their daily life? These are the people who need to get comfortable with crypto or there is no future for any of it (other than in specialised niche forums like this one).
216  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: CRYPTSY stopping withdraw locking accounts without notifying users! Class Action on: November 10, 2015, 03:13:03 PM
You fucking yank twat's.

The first thing you do is jump from "zero" to "1 million"..

Either litigation, Violence or some other stupidity. No forethought, no consideration. blind ignorance/arrogance.

With the mindset "I Seen this in a Movie. It was so cool dude!.."

By even discussing your case here you are putting your entire case in jeopardy.

As for doxing owners that just plain punitive and very childish IMHO.
Not one bit of forethought. Again "zero" to "1 million"

Why have so much exposure? did you not get to learn how to dodge bullets, instead of crying like little bitches..

fucking yanks..

Thanks for calling me a yank cause that's what I am. Do you really expect an issue like this to get resolved over the internet without force? Do you know how many innocent people have been scammed? That's the equivalent of saying "let's arrest this guy nicely even though he robbed approx. 300 purses for a total of $100K." Please grow up.

To be perfectly honest I could give two fucking shits what happens I am covered. As for having the correct "mentality" to tackle issues such as there you guys went right off the edge a couple of pages ago.

I am right the majority of you yanks are arrogant fools, who live in an ultra violent society where you think head-fucked so called celebrities living in tinsel-town are something to aspire towards.
You value the green more that anything, makes me sick.

I'm just calling it as I see it.

PLUS not one iota of forethought for other individuals like myself who quite happily trades on Cryptsy.. How this will affect ME, SO long as you guys get to put your point across. THIS BS is why I fucking hate this TOXIC ass forum as its populated with script-kiddie, alt-coin wannabe morons.

Good luck with this BS.
I am not a yank.
Question: When was the last time you withdrew some BTC (maybe over 1 BTC) from Cryptsy?
217  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [KOBO] Kobocoin - An African peer to peer payment system on: November 07, 2015, 11:08:13 PM
While other altcoins dropped in price during the bitcoin run-up, kobocoin stood its ground. It's a testament to kobocoin's strength. Kudos.
Thanks, and thanks to all our silent supporters. It's all keeping Kobo alive (and honest!). Don't forget to download your Android wallet from Google Play.

218  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: CRYPTSY stopping withdraw locking accounts without notifying users! Class Action on: November 05, 2015, 11:56:39 PM
Nowhere is safe. If you have BTC out there, bring it home and lock it down (or suffer the loss).
 Sad
219  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: THE FUTURE - A Blockchain for Everyone on: November 03, 2015, 12:18:41 AM
A blockchain for everyone. Or maybe a sidechain for everyone (sidechains will probably make currency integration easier). I do think that at some point in the near future a breakthru will see blockchains (or cryptos) suddenly go through a period of massive investment and development. The altcoin scene is a bit of a tomb right now, but I don't think it will remain that way forever. Who knows, bitcoin has started moving. Ir might be soon.
220  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I don't understand why banks and companies are hyping "blockchain" on: November 02, 2015, 06:56:17 PM
I think the banks WILL create a common currency between themselves. I think they'll use it for internal bank transfers and lending worldwide.

I also think there will be some form of currency transfer involved whereby the fees institutional customers pay are used to purchase this internal bank currency which will eventually grow in value to be worth billions (if not trillions). The banks might also use it to replace LIBOR which is worth around $800 trillion but prone to corruption and manipulation. An open blockchain ledger and an index based on this new blockchain ledger might be touted as a way to eradicate criminality. And make loads of new money doing it.

It may never become a public currency but don't be fooled. Bankers are all about money. The blockchain is a new way to manufacture money. Does anybody really believe that the bankers won't use it for that?
