121  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: [WTB] S9 hashboard on: October 07, 2018, 06:29:39 PM
Looking for a working S9 hashboard. I have a defective one. Only reasonable prices please. I live in the EU.

What Batch s9  they are not all compatible.

Its a miner from a replacement. How can i find out?

I overclocked the 2 boards to 12TH.

According to bitmain, they exchanged the miner. i think they just changed the serial number sticker. And thats where the desaster started. It was my first repair shipment with a whole miner. I had to pay import taxes again because the returned miner had another serial number. So it costed me about 225€ in total for the whole mess.  Roll Eyes
I got a 220$ bitmain coupon. Wohoo.
124  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: Antminer S9 hashboard showing up correct but with 0 hashrate on: October 06, 2018, 03:28:37 PM
That board is faulty. You might have imbalanced ...

Thanks for the description. I dont have the necessary hardware for doing this, although i would line to try to fix it for fun.

Is there anything "stupid" rather than cleaning and bending the board a bit here and there, I can do?

When you say switched cables - Did you switch the ribbon cable from the hashboard to the control board? This could help identify if it is indeed the board or something else, possible the cable even.

Is this a new miner, used miner??

It is a miner I got in return after repair. The old miner had 2 faulty boards. I got some compensation from bitmain for the failed repair. I dont want to send it in again since it hashes on 2 boards and shipping will be too expensive to be reasonable.

I switched the port and the cable. Its definitely the hashboard.
125  Bitcoin / Mining support / Antminer S9 hashboard showing up correct but with 0 hashrate on: October 06, 2018, 01:44:44 PM
Hello guys,

one of my S9 looks like this:
https://imgur.com/a/o3yagON
https://ibb.co/dxPLrz
That means everytging shows up normally, just the realtime hashrate for the board is 9.

Reflashed, rebooted, tried modded bmminer, cleaned the miner, checked all boards and switched cables and PSU.
One hashboard is just not hashing. Kernel shows it normally.

Any advice what I can do? I disconnected the board for now to reduce power by about 200w.

Hey guys. Further findings:
Right now I am trying to find the sweet spots for the miners. I tuned the S9s individually and I am using bmminer 880 and 890, depending on chip quality. The 14.0 TH models run at 787,5 - 800 Mhz and draw between 1800 and 1830W. I managed to draw up to 1930W from an AWP3++ PSU, but thats too near at the safety shutdown point. The range for safety shutdown seems to be between 1870 and 1950W at least for my AWP3++.

Question: Would you prefer nealry 0 HW errors and lose about 0.2 TH or go with the HW errors? I try keeping the HW errors very low because I assume it affects the hashrate more than the extra 0.1-0.2 TH. What do you say?

Hey guys,
I have got 2 quite good binned miners. With the original fixed FW I am getting better results than with bmminer890. How can I check what voltage the original bmminer uses?
128  Bitcoin / Mining software (miners) / Re: Antminer S9 Volt Rocket Ship firmware mod! ~ALL S9 MODELS INCLUDING S9i S9j~ on: September 26, 2018, 03:55:34 PM
You can it's a bitch and a half to code it but the gains are so small it isn't really worth it. Board tuning would be easier to do but if you got apw3++ only I wouldn't bother since you will have some boards that can take more power and clock higher and not enough juice out of that apw

I see. Do you know a firmware without dev fee that supports this?
I am curious because I think that maybe we could max out the PSU and chips better by tuning good chips and leaving bad chips on lower frequencies.

Are you running on s9 13.5 14 or s9i/s9j?

I have only S9 with APW3++ PSU and bmminer880:
13.5TH miners running @15.4-15.8 TH @ 1620-1690W with 750MHz
13.0TH miners running @15.6 @ 1620W with 750MHz
14.0TH miners running @ 15.5-16.5 TH @ 1680-1720W with 725-775MHz

Is there any way to tune each board or even chip individually? I can not find any legit info about that.
131  Bitcoin / Mining software (miners) / Re: Antminer S9 Volt Rocket Ship firmware mod! ~ALL S9 MODELS INCLUDING S9i S9j~ on: September 25, 2018, 08:01:27 PM
I run them at about 1750W now with bmminer880 at 750-775MHz. I had to tune one miner down to 725MHz because after some time it showed 0TH. The others run fine.
I might slowly ramp them up. But I want to stay with 880 for now and test how high I can go.

I have a question for you @taserz.
I am using your mod for 3 of my Antminers.
First one is 13.5TH/s January batch, using 910v 825 freq and mining stable 17.6TH/s
Second one is 13.5TH/s March batch, using 920v 825 freq and mining stable 17.5TH/s
Third one is 14Th/s May batch, using 890v 825 freq and mining stable 17.6TH/s
All of them are using 1600W Bitmain's supply(I am only not sure for third one if it is maybe 1800W but it probably isn't, nevermind that).

My question is: why is PSU pulling 2kW from wall when it is rated only for 1600W, I mean, how is that even possible and will it hurt the PSU in any way? As I am running them for a week now and I had no problems.

Of course it reduces the lifetime of the PSU, since it is not built for that load. On the other hand it has reserves. I am running them at higher loads for over a month now.

Check, if your cables are made for that loads! Dont burn your facility Cheesy A rule of thumb is 80% of peak load can be constand load. So if your cables are rated 10A, i  europe you could theoretically draw 1800W constantly without problems. You can draw more, but keep in mind to check your cables some times.

IT doesn't let you configure each chip

How can I get something like this: https://youtu.be/xF2WrPiztyI?t=27
134  Bitcoin / Mining software (miners) / Re: Dollemizer Firmware ASICBOOST Comming! [custom s9, s9i, t9 Firmware upgrade] on: September 24, 2018, 08:50:30 AM
Is dollemizer the only firmware that allows configuring each chip individually?

Yeah, thats the problem. Profitabilit will be falling very quick, even with small batches. Just wondering if there is a company page, since I did not hear about Dayun before.

What was it about?
137  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: ASIC for Lyra2rev2 on: September 23, 2018, 08:17:45 PM
anyone ordered one?
I can not find any information about the company.

These spikes appear randomly and depend on pool, memleak and internet connection.
PSU did not seem to make a difference for my miners.
139  Bitcoin / Mining software (miners) / Re: Antminer S9 Volt Rocket Ship firmware mod! ~ALL S9 MODELS INCLUDING S9i S9j~ on: September 20, 2018, 08:51:59 PM
So my observations so far with 13.0, 13.5 and 14TH S9 from different batches with AWP3+ PSU are, that using bmminer880 with 750 - 775 MHz freq. gives me 15.5-16.0 TH and draws about 1700W from the 1600W PSU. But it works stable.
Using bmminer870 with 750-775MHz gives me more HW errors and draws only about 50W less power. Temps are about 2°C lower. But the hashrate seems also a bit decreased. Maybe due to the HW errors.

Thanks taserz for your work.

Any way to also enable the hidden settings on the minerAdvanced page?
140  Bitcoin / Mining software (miners) / Re: Antminer S9 FW with voltage/fan/frequency control on: September 20, 2018, 08:47:52 PM
I think the readings from other firmware is PCB temp while the other firmware is for chip temps which should be different.

You can check the logs by searching local temp and middle temp result.

For other references, you can check this post. https://enforum.bitmain.com/bbs/topics/3696

Thanks for the hint!
I guess I will have to set back one of the S9 to autotune to compare temps.
