Hi! need some help!

yesterday I sent some drks to cryptsy from qt 0.9.0.0 and received nothing.
then i've updated it to 0.9.3.4 and this transaction with a question mark in my wallet((

So now any coin can implement CoinJoin and claim to be the new DarkCoin?

This is just one aspect being developed:

Improvements over this mixing solution are due to include the following features:

* Master Nodes These nodes handle the mixing through random selection -

MASTERNODE REQUIREMENT WILL ALWAYS BE 1000 DRK:

Masternode requirements are going to be 1000DRK forever, for the following reasons:

- We need a bunch of masternodes, but more is NOT better. They cause chatter on the network saying they're still around and more memory usage everywhere. It's also more processing for the nodes to figure which to use.
- We want them to be reasonable expensive to start now and insanely expensive down the line.
- This will cause a feedback loop which will create upward pressure on price of darkcoin even making it more expensive to start one of these in the future (I detail this concept here: https://darkcointalk.org/threads/darkcoin-update-masternode-requirements-masternode-payments.225/)
- Every client on the network needs to keep a list of all of these, we don't want a list of 100k
- 10k masternodes @ $1000 is the same thing as 50k @ $200. The only difference is a lower barrier to entry and lower end equipment. In either case it would cost a million to add enough nodes to see half of the traffic.
- Also the clients need to download this list upon booting up
- There's also a consideration for the masternodes themselves. We have 576 blocks per day, If there's 10000 master nodes that means they'll on average get paid once every month and a half. I feel like if that number goes any higher we'll have nodes that won't want to wait to recoup their investment.

When will masternodes be brought down to 500drk each?  Grin

There is no plan to reduce the masternode price, sorry.  I assume that if there was a problem keeping enough people interested in running masternodes, that the price would then be reduced.  But if enough people continue to run them, it will not.

Also, regarding an earlier question from someone, I believe Masternodes will earn 10% of all mining profits, so that means when fees are implemented to keep miners working, 10% will go to masternodes.

Fair enough. Guess I better buy some more dark while its cheap.
its hard to know whats going on, its the pump and dump time...

If I may suggest, the volume is really low right now, I suspect, due to most people in the United States being asleep.  A good time to buy, unless of course, it continues to go down due to no interest.

But I suck at markets, so blah!  It's what I see at the moment, but I'd never sell on that info, LOL.

Difficulty Darkcoin Block: 2600.825477 (170M)

Hash Rate Darkcoin Total: 70.9GH/s

with these two parametrs for last couple of days, the miners get really not much.

My 4x280x get daily total: 0.360 DRK

so the level of 0,011BTC/DRK is much to undervalued.

Yup, at some point you gotta decide if it's worth it.  With my puny little "rigs" which are my desktop and what used to be our home Minecraft server, LOL, and a brought back from the dead headless computer, and nothing special graphics cards, I don't think I manage even .005 drk a day!  They will be put back to use serving up our minecraft games, maybe tonight.  It's too sickening to see, LOL, and I miss not doing stuff on my desktop.

At some point, the energy consumption and lack of use is just not worth it Smiley

So is the darksend more than 10 now?

And what is your rebuttal to byttecoin was the first anonymous coin?

Bytecoin was unknown until March, so it's been a coin mined etc... by a small group of insiders for the last two years.  Since nobody knew they existed, how could anyone have known?  They also still have no gui, and as only a small group of people own most of the coins, it seems too centric and will have a LOT of growing (community wise) to do to catch up with us.  Darkcoin is WAY ahead of them on all fronts, and I don't think we should take down the sign that says first.  But if it makes everyone happy, we could update it to say 'First known anonymous coin'.   But to tell you the truth, I don't care  Tongue  Grin

OH, and I don't think we can send beyond 10 yet, though I haven't tried.  I seem to remember Evan saying that would be for RC3

Masternode will be essential part of Darkcoin p2p network.

Besides original purpose of Masternode,
Masternode is a 24H online stable, well connected, and inbound 9999 port is opened Darkcoin peer node.

24H avg reward wiil be is 5.

10 % of it.

Has it been decided how the payout works? Do you only get paid if transactions flow through your node or if you're online for 24 hours, you get a proportional amount of the 10% mining reward?

Every time there is a new block (approx. every 2.5 min) a masternode is elected, and at the end, paid whether or not it was called upon to function as a Masternode pool.  I am not sure how a masternode is treated if it goes off line during the block.  I believe that there is a secondary "slavenode" that takes it's place (and is therefor paid)  I am quite sure there is no penalties for Masternodes pulling out because how is a person to know if they were just elected but decided at that moment to do maintenance, etc...
131  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][DRK] DarkCoin | First Anonymous Coin | First X11 | First DGW | ASIC Resistant on: May 16, 2014, 03:20:31 AM
That would make me choose DRK over BTC!

Folks, remember when your comparing prices, you've got to take account of the coin supply.

DRK's current coin supply is on third of Bitcoin's and a fifth of Litecoin's.

That means if you value DRK at, say, half Litecoin's price then the supply corrected target price would be (LTC x 5) / 2 = 0.06 BTC.

I'm not saying that half LTC's price is the right or wrong valuation, that's for people to decide themselves. I'm just saying you need to take account of coin supply when calculating it.

Another thing that's going reduce DRK's coin supply is the amount of DRK that's removed from it to support masternodes. That will further drive the price because that part of the supply will never reach any markets.

Evan should down the 1000 darks that are necessary to create a masternode to 500 at least cause when the network reach the 100.000 masternodes, the 50% of the coins will be out of markets.

The total number of masternodes is hard limited to 10,000, I believe.  Evan talked about this at some point in this thread - too many MNs would actually do more harm to the network than good.

Well with 4,2 millions coins actualy, I don't see how we can have more than 4200 MN.

Hummm, that is logical,  maybe I should revise my thoughts on how many will start up on the 25th Grin

Take them all. Im at 0

No!  Really?  Well, no sleep for you then, you must watch and buy back as soon as you can, I'm sure there will be a "correction" down, perhaps, to .01 or even .008, but you must be ready for it!

Good luck!  I'd rather not get the ulcers again, LOL, I lost 80 dark, today that would be 560 bucks!  All gone!  Never to be seen again, and with coins I paid for, not mined.  For me, that's a small fortune, LOL, I'm sure you all are laughing, but it is.... actually, I think I'm gonna be sick, LOL...
133  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][DRK] DarkCoin | First Anonymous Coin | First X11 | First DGW | ASIC Resistant on: May 16, 2014, 03:00:47 AM
There won't be dump as seen with copy coins pumps. Why?

First and foremost - this isn't just trading. This is coin with a value - privacy, anonymous transactions.
Demand for that is huge, so why sell now if we can be @100 or more in a 6-12 months.

Second - whales just don't have enough coins. Distribution is excellent, supply is scarce, a lot of coins is tied in the masternodes - almost 170.000 in the running ones, I have no doubt there's 300.000-500.000 prepared to start on 25th.

Surely there will be a correction, but the new floor will be massively higher than few days ago.

And who knows, if people turn back on LTC/DOGE, we might see several weeks long run.

In any case, best to hold, smile, and enjoy some popcorn watching exchange action.
If the 1+ DRK per day estimate for masternode is correct, that alone dramatically boosts the value doesnt it?

James

Just beware, I think the second masternodes get paid, tons of people will jump in, and there will be easily a thousand or so nodes in no time.  That means payouts will be very small, there is only one pie, and it must be divided up.  So Masternodes are not going to be a cash cow.

In fact, this is part of the plan.  We don't want too many masternodes because when there are too many, they will clog up the system.  It should balance itself out in the end, but just so you realize, if it's easy coins, it won't be for long, doubt more than a day Smiley

I was an idiot selling 70btc worth at 0.1 lol fml

still a good chance to 10x your money and more in the medium term if you buy in now.

I needed 194 more darks and i paniced cuz i only had 10 btc chilling. Took out my 60 worth of darks from wallet and sold thinking i could buy later cheaper. Boy was i ever wrong Sad

Im chilling right now cringing. I think im gonna get hammered and pass out

It seems that you often panic sell.
Like a poet said "Don't dump that dark dark dark ♫ Don't dump that dark dark dark ♫"  Grin

I panic like a little schoolgirl and ive been getting fucked these past 2 pumps lol

But what's the trigger ? Not just the rise I hope (because there are many more to come)

I did this a week or so ago and lost half my coins. I highly suggest, if you want to have drk, don't play with it.  I know I need to take some of my money out of my coins as soon as I can, a small percentage of what I have when it hits a certain point, within the next month for certain, but that's because I need it.  I will not sell any coins unless I need them in the future.  I have debts I need to pay down, and invested some money in dark in hopes of helping myself pay it off a bit.  Other than selling for those reasons, I will not sell again, and simply hold.  Smiley  It's way safer, this coin isn't acting like others and I don't think it will be easy to find the peak or the trough Cheesy
135  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][DRK] DarkCoin | First Anonymous Coin | First X11 | First DGW | ASIC Resistant on: May 16, 2014, 01:37:20 AM
I think we are getting closer to the psychologically important barrier of $100m, expect breakout support from there to $300m.
You're expecting too much. I'd rather we keep a $25M+ price for a while. I don't want DRK ending up like Blackcoin.

I'm sorry, but I forget what all these coins offered, but I do remember looking and seeing nothing to be excited about.  So all these other alt coins went up really fast because there were promoters, etc... and eventually, people realized that the coin really didn't add anything all that useful, and they droped it, leaving the slow ones to hold the bag.  Yes this has happened over and over again.  And I will admit that I haven't looked at all that many coins, I did in the beginning more, but they always looked like.... well I'll use the word junk.  I even thought maybe the proof of stake coins might be something.  Even Auroracoin, what an amazing concept!  But ultimately, I lost interest (in pos, because it became obvious that the people who really wanted to get ahead had to pay into the system) and basically, though I really wanted some to succeed, I just stuck with DRK because every venture "out there" confirmed to me that DRK had way more going for it.

So, will DRK get pumped?  Undoubtedly, but I doubt as well as other coins were.  Will DRK fall?  Undoubtedly, but not so low, and not for long.  I think too many here have their heads screwed on straight and it's given the coin a muffling effect.  I feel that we're going up so fast because once we started moving, we got more attention, and with that attention came interest.  Some bought in for the ride up, others because they see an excellent coin.  We're not in Kansas anymore.  The world really knows of us now.  Even if uncertainty hits, and the price drops, it'll recover, IMO.  I honestly think this is a much better and much more useful coin than Bitcoin, and there will be so many amazing things happening off this infrastructure in the near future, the ground will be broken  many more times before Evan's 2 years of dedication are up.  We'll wonder how the world functioned before crypto currency, with Darkcoin in the lead.

Ok, I'm a total believer in this coin, so take my words with that in mind, LOL, but I actually believe it Smiley  This coin will not act like "all the other coins" before it Smiley

I don't want to sound like unbeliever, that DRK will grow big and will stay there, because it surely deserves it, but if (big IF) it's just a whale game, this guy must have at least a thousand btc  Undecided
Btw, I missed x10 roi in BC pump, because I fell for the hype and didn't sell a thing at the top. I invested 0,5btc, managed to jump out from the crash with 2btc. Couple of bad, frustrated trades later, I ended up with just 1btc. Now i'm all in DRK at 0.01. I believe in DRK, but I'm cautious. If I will lose my 1btc, I'm done with cryptos...  Undecided

While other coin communities will say great job or what not (and I dont think DRK guys will do it), why do you have to go all in? that is never good for anything. I'd say watch out for yourself and don't trade in cryptos if you get burnt so often.

I totally agree.  The reason I'm in Darkcoin for the long haul is because I want to see it succeed on ideological terms.  I think it's come together since the beginning amazingly well.  Nobody knew it would turn into such an interesting and potentially awesome system for all the reasons we can see now in the beginning.  Every change, I get more excited about this coin.  I don't care if it drops again, I'm not going to play that market game, I got burned once, never again.  Nope, This is going to be so much fun to watch for years to come, and I love being a part of it.  I do have a few extra coins I'll sell when the price gets high enough, some soon to help me pay for bills, but not much.  My masternodes will be kept though Smiley

Why I like DarkCoin
By Jesse Livermore

I like DarkCoin because I can imagine a not-too-distant future where 99.999% of all available DRK is locked up in master nodes thereby making my non-master node-connected DRK be priced as I wish.
Evan has successfully designed and created the most insane positive feedback loop that has ever existed in the capitalistic world.

1 question though:
-Why the hell can't I buy DRK with fiat yet? (I would rather not buy through other coins' USD conversions on moolah, coinbase, etc)

JL

Very interesting point. How will the masternodes receive an income if most of the coins get consolidated into masternodes? Would there be low liquidity and low volume due to consolidation? Low volume would mean low income for the masternodes?

There is an excellent balance Evan created.  Nobody will want a masternode if the payments are so low as to not be at all profitable.  Certainly even 50% of the coins being tied up in masternodes would be undesirable.

And if all the coins were tied up like that, they would be of no use to anyone.  It should naturally balance out in the end though.  Remember, the end game is to use the coins, not horde them.  And Darkcoin is uniquely positioned to enable the building of a decentralized market system, through those masternodes.

Masternodes will be a tool, not the end all of the system.  Not even close.  All levels must work together, Masternodes, Coins and the marketplace/exchanges.
