Hello hd49728,
I hope some of my posts below may meet your standard:

By the way, I think one user maybe awarded more than 1 merit from you, depending on his quality. It's kind of unfair if a user with only a few worthy posts receive the same amount with a full of quality posts user. It' just my humble thought. Of course the decision is on you. It's your game, your rules Grin.

You'd be surprised this forum layout is pretty outdated. Scroll to the bottom of the page and you'll see the version (SMF) roughly 10 years old, just like Bitcoin .

Maybe that could be the reason why theymos doesn't want to upgrade it Cheesy
I know the forum layout is old. As I said, I've been using a local forum for years. It was once based vBulletin platform with layout very similar to Bitcointalk. But in Mar 2020, due to security problem, that forum upgraded to xenForo. I think you know the feelings when you move to a new house. Even it's bigger, nicer but you really miss your old house at the first time. And then I found this forum with same oldschool style. That's how everything went. You can find my favorite local forum's old layout in below pictures:

So many interesting stories in this topic. I'm jealous with a lot of people here for not knowing this forum sooner. My registration date is 01 Apr, 2020, one day after I incidentally read an article on my favourite local forum, which is translated from and refered to Bitcointalk.org. The thing that I really like about BCT is its clean and simple white-blue interface, which is very similar to my mentioned local forum (it used vBulletin and recently migrated to XenForo). I found many interesting facts originated from this forum, like 10,000 bitcoins for pizza or hodling mantra. I think I love this place and I'll make it my second Internet home.

I remember some of you guys used to grin a lot... How's your sh!tcoin doing?

18 Months In, Few People Use, Mine or Buy Privacy Coin Grin

https://www.coindesk.com/18-months-few-people-use-mine-buy-privacy-coin-cryptocurrency-grin

I think that there were some people in this forum who were promoting grin or maybe it was mimblewimble or beam.... I am not sure about what the difference is between those three and they seem to be related somehow...

Does not seem to be a good thing to be promoting those other projects.
Even the forum promoted Grin by accepting it as a payment method for Copper Member:
Available paid memberships:

Copper - 0.00261905 BTC: Allows you to post images even if you are a newbie, reduces the time-between-actions limit, and provides some of the same benefits as being of natural Member rank.
Pay to the Bitcoin address 384oazPjyXB3i2xmY5zyHyuGfdGCPsVL49. Once your transaction has 1 confirmation, revisit this page and then use the form which will appear in order to wear your new membership. Your transaction will not be accepted until it has 1 confirmation. Bitcoin network fees and exchange/wallet withdrawal fees will not count toward your payment.

We are commonly asked how we know that you sent a payment. The address above was newly generated just for you, so when any BTC is sent to it, we will know to credit it to your account. It is all automatic.

You can also pay via grin.

As far as I know, Grin and Beam are two of the first coins using mimblewimble. It's a cool protocol which focuses on privacy and scalability. Litecoin is expected to adapt mimblewimble on September. Aside from being an altcoin, I don't find any reason to be against Grin or mimblewimble in particular.
127  Other / Meta / Re: Cobra want's to part away with bitcoin.org on: May 14, 2020, 04:55:05 AM
Actually there was a topic talking about this already (in another section): So it looks like Cobra is planning on passing on the Bitcoin.org domain by arbiter5 but it didn't gather much attention.

Anyway, there was an annoucement of theymos about the ownership separation between bitcointalk.org and bitcoin.org. Cobra now owns bitcoin.org and it's legal if he wants to sell it: Domain name update.

Looks like it's hanging on AT 9000!!!!!

(again)

9095 now

previous short term high was 9165.5 (on bitmex)
second previous short term high was only 8991

what is the support ?

There are still a lot of bears but a lot of pressure for a higher price as well, i think we can go test 10k again and this time or a following pump up, we may go much higher
It sounds like we have to break 9k2 first...

129  Local / Other languages/locations / Re: Vietnamese discussion on our local threads. Talk in English, self-moderated. on: May 12, 2020, 09:05:24 AM
A friendly bump to this topic. I have the intention to translate some useful, quality topics into Vietnamese but couldn't find an appropriate place to post. Really need a local board.

However I believe someday I will name myself on that list.
I'm almost half way to your 100-merit requirement.

I think OP might want to add this topic: List of scams exposed by Rikafip. 70+ and counting! by Rikafip and IOTA: Snake oil insecurity with a centralized kill switch to shut off your money by nullius
131  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: List of scams exposed by Rikafip. 70+ and counting! on: May 10, 2020, 02:25:22 AM
Really admire you work mate. Such a huge number of merits that you get but they're all well deserved. Keep up your good work as scammers are increasing day by day when market becomes better thanks to the halving.

Will anybody be happy to take this vaccine when it eventually comes?

There’s no way I’m having it.
Since when has this thread become Covid-19 related? Some psychos in Politics & Society will flood over and turn it into a warzone.

P.S: Absolutely no.

That slo-mo serie. Has Slippin Jimmy attained his "Better call Saul" slogan yet? Btw, double space after a full stop was deemed wrong by Microsoft.

Nah, he's still Slippin Jimmy in this episode. Although that looks about to change very soon.  No spoilers please!

Oh, and those who hail from This Sceptered Isle are unlikely ever to take instruction on punctuation from Microsoft.
I didn't mean to spoil. Just thinking that you were watching the latest episodes on Netflix and I wanted some updates.

Whatever, I can say it's your habit and you don't want to change.
134  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: May 08, 2020, 12:24:54 AM
I can live with this

You're so easy to pleased. I'm more into eddie13's desire.

WOOT 10k!

But I need to see like 10,300-10,400 to break out of the bear since 20k..

Well I had just been about to go to bed, but thought I'd squeeze in another episode of "Better call Saul" instead.  Great series.

135  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: [Scam] Tradekax Exchange - Plagiarized whitepaper on: May 08, 2020, 12:02:28 AM
Duplicated. Rikafip has spotted, reported and flagged Tradekax a couple of days ago: [Warning] Tradekax exchange plagiarized whitepaper.

Great catch. I think exchanges scam is very Dangerous and people have high risk to lost big amount of money from scam exchange.
Oops, a tagged member because of scammers related rebuking another scam?
136  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Bitfinex launches bitcoin dominance future on: May 07, 2020, 10:56:18 AM
I think it should be margin trading rather than futures. Because the Bitcoin dominance index is not a commodity and it is really difficult to give an accurate index on the exchange. so trading like that would be insecure and the chances of us losing more. Actually we have to follow the house rules but I don't support this kind of bitcoin dominance.
Edited in the OP, it's a perpetual contract:

We're pleased to announce the following updates to the Derivatives Product Description.

The Product Description now includes the BTCDOMF0:USTF0 (Bitcoin Dominance) product. The Bitcoin Dominance product tracks the change in price of BTC relative to a basket of seven Digital Tokens (ETH, EOS, LTC, XRP, BCH, XTZ and XLM).
137  Other / Meta / Re: Why Same MERITED Rankers send Merits to themselves? on: May 07, 2020, 03:49:54 AM
No it is because either i am blind or i like simple post.
Most of my merit were spent here, targeting low ranks mainly... https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2957836.0, so...
For whatever the reason it is, I truely respect what you have done to help the low ranks.
138  Other / Meta / Re: Why Same MERITED Rankers send Merits to themselves? on: May 06, 2020, 01:00:35 PM
Actually what I notice is the probability to be merited increase with how famous you are in the first place then how substantial your post is. For example if theymos makes a post about a new forum feature, he may receive for it a total of +50 merit, while if any other staff member announced it, he may receive less than 30. Same applies for other members. No?
Congratulations, you have just discovered the "Matthew effect". But just like almost other people, you also commited it. My post was just 2 posts below libert19's post, mentioning the effect. You missed it because I'm just Jr. member ranked, right?

The "rich gets richer and poor stays poorer" is called "Matthew effect" (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Matthew_effect). Applying this theory to Bitcointalk, it can be interpreted that if a problem or an idea spotted at the same time by a low ranked and a high ranked members, the high ranked member is recognized and the low ranked is easier to be overlooked.
