It was necessary.  We needed the volume spike to seal the bottom of the bear market.

I can live with this

You're so easy to pleased. I'm more into eddie13's desire.

WOOT 10k!

But I need to see like 10,300-10,400 to break out of the bear since 20k..

Well I had just been about to go to bed, but thought I'd squeeze in another episode of "Better call Saul" instead.  Great series.
That slo-mo serie. Has Slippin Jimmy attained his "Better call Saul" slogan yet? Btw, double space after a full stop was deemed wrong by Microsoft.

Nice. Things are going better.

Remember though: It's not that bitcoin is worth more. It's that fiat is worth less.

Am relatively confident I didn't pay 3x more for my shopping than I did a couple of months ago. I'll check again.

Touched $10k at BitMEX. Just NOW!

Unless there is some kind of important (or noteworthy) thing going on in bitcoinlandia (or Bitmex specifically), for what should be somewhat obvious reasons (you heard about some of the shenanigans there, frequently involving leveraging  100x (hello)?), we don't use BitMex as our attempt at a representative BTC price reference point in this thread.

Remember bitstamp? it's a pretty well-known exchange that does not use leverage trading and has historically served as a pretty decent BTC spot price reference point... remember?

AI bot failure

Seriously? I know that most of the WOers have been following Bitstamp since the creation of the thread but... when did we make Bitstamp a "standard" for the price reference?  Roll Eyes

I feel a lot comfortable with BitMEX. The flashes on the page feel so refreshing, they just seem to happen faster on BitMEX than on Bitstamp. Moreover, trollbox is a cool place.

5 figures pleases me

Purse.io still being open pleases me.

Just put in an order my wife has been preparing for the past month. Though the low price gave me an excuse to tell her she couldn't shop.

Missed the crossing of the $10k line because I was out getting some fresh air after it cooled down to livable around here. Being stuck inside with air conditioning is almost as bad as quarantine.

It's nice to see the Great Spring of 2020 Beartrap snap shut and the ongoing bull trend continue. We're only a few hundred dollars from an AYH.

Go Bitcoin go.

Jones’ Tudor BVI Global Fund, managed by Tudor Investment Corp., has been authorized to hold as much as “a low single-digit percentage exposure percentage" of its assets in bitcoin futures, according to a note sent to investors this month. The firm manages $38 billion, of which $22 billion is in the flagship BVI fund. Bloomberg News reported the disclosure earlier Thursday.
...
Jones’ statement comes amid a new all-time high in CME bitcoin futures open interest, which nearly reached $400 million on Wednesday, according to Skew. Bitcoin also rallied nearly 10% on Thursday, climbing from $9,000 to just below $9,900 at the time of publication.

A low-single-digit percentage of the Tudor BVI fund's assets would be equivalent to nearly all open interest in CME bitcoin futures contracts at the time of publication.

We've been using Stamp since Gox shutdown. We're never going to use a scammy, leveraged, derivatives market as the official price.

Aren't trades even settled in USD? What does that have to do with the price of bitcoin? It's just gambling on the actual price.

As much as I like the idea behind Purse... I can't support it now with slimy old Ver being involved. Any money lining his pockets is money used to try to twist narratives against BTC in my book

I use bitcoinaverage. Just seems sensible to use something like that. Which is over 10k now. Nice.

Oh gawd.....    Roll Eyes    Roll Eyes   Maybe you are in a state of trauma for other reasons... and you just aren't thinking clearly... ?

I'm trying to give you some benefit of the doubt... if you happen to NOT recognize any difference between leveraged trading and futures and margin and other shenanigans, then maybe there is not a lot that can be done for you...

And, fuck off with your nonsensical lil AI assertion(s).....

Bitstamp is the WO reference price

If it makes you feel better, Bitstamp is also a reference for the Bitmex Index Price

Nah, he's still Slippin Jimmy in this episode.  Although that looks about to change very soon.  No spoilers please!

Oh, and those who hail from This Sceptered Isle are unlikely ever to take instruction on punctuation from Microsoft.
