Hi,guys.
There's one thing I always have trouble when I use the new mooncoin windows qt wallet. I  changed my wallet.dat file. Now when I click "Request payment" or send mooncoins,It always display dialog box microsoft visual c++ runtime library, this application has requested the runtime to terminate it in an unusual way.please contact the aplication's support team for more information.
Why? There were no problems i used old mooncoin wallet in 2014.

Can I confirm you're using the latest version from https://github.com/mooncoindev/mooncoin/releases/download/0.10.5-tokenblock/Mooncoin-qt.zip?

When you say changed; you mean swapping in your old wallet file from the old client?
The two should be compatible.

Let me know,
james

Thank you for the explanation.

I think that the developers/mantainers of MOON should put this information somewhere where anyone approaching this coin can see it.

Consider that for me it is almost 3 weeks I am looking around MOON and gathering information, but I never found this info explained ( it might be there in one of the 70 pages of this bitcointalk)

Seeing the wrong supply number also impacts on the decision someone makes in investing or not in MOON.

I am sure you all know this already, but I just wanted to point it out from a newbie point of view.

not a bad point actually, there have been quite a few questions about this of late.
i'll ask that some info be put up regarding it.

when the issue was originally pointed out to me, in regards to preventing spends from the 4 known stolen cryptsy addresses, i couldnt find much in the way of freezing/halting spends anywhere.

so i just wrote my own method and its done well (https://github.com/mooncoindev/mooncoin/blob/master/src/main.cpp#L942-L1073).
there have been unsuccessful attempts to spend the funds over time through some fairly devious means, but now we're entirely across from the legacy client to the new 0.10 platform; it seems to have eased off.

Dont use moonrush wallet. I just tried to send my mcoins from bazco.in(moonrush) to mooncore wallet (qt) and my txn stuck.

http://prntscr.com/ffdu10

Txn explorer shows 502 bad gateway when I check https://bchain.info/MOON/tx/{TXID}

can you pm txid so we can diagnose this further.
this will be the first issue i've seen with moonrush..

i just did a test from my own moonrush test wallet about 5 minutes ago

Of course, the new difficulty readjustment algo is priority, it goes without saying.
Also mining from wallets with one click will drive more common users, not only professional miners.
And then, the last in this order - a new codebase, derived from Litecoin, which already contains Segwit,
that's why it goes without saying, too, or is it needed to be removed? Obviously not.
Never underestimate the exponential growth of adoption. If you have a chance to include this feature, with the future in mind, better just do it.

DK3 has certainly caught my attention:

mining at 2.7mh until timestamp ~ 1496480645; where a second gridseed is brought online (5.4mh).
please note the figures above are with DK3 largely untuned.

propz to metamorphin for the suggestion, once fully tweaked i think this is what we will go with  Cool
my particular interest is in the 'timeout' function, if a particular timeout has been exceeded with no new blocks found; the retargetting algorithm will actually start lowering the difficulty dynamically.

LTC was only hyped by SegWit. Does not need it technologically, at least not at this time, as the network simply works, as said. So it can be seen as mere marketing. Not really needed, if it brings no technological benefit for the coin. As they did not invent SegWit, it cannot be attributed to LTC and will not help MOON either, other than maybe a little pump (but no substantial growth, because of real beneficial and own development).

LTC would have also gone up in the latest rallye without SegWit, though not as high, maybe. Just read the investors forums and you'll understand, that they only went onto the train, because it went up and the buzzword SegWit was there (which was a catalyst in the rallye).

100%

Litecoin does not have the transactional volume nor block sizes making it necessary.
That being said; it is an interesting technology with legacy client cooperation being a strong plus in its featureset.

True consensus being the other..

C-cex.com is a trustable and time tested exchange and be sure they care about security.

Thanks to all people who participated, especially to nico12321!
Mooncoin is proving again that the community, common people matter,
not only centralized projects with a couple of investors behind can win.

Mooncoin is not a company, it's backed by common people all over the world who write its history.
Join MOON today, you are welcome.

Edit: the Mooncoin developer barrysty1e reported that he completed Segwit implementation.
Now working on a difficulty readjustment algo.

Congrats all on the c-cex news  Grin
I will submit all details to them as required shortly.

Indeed true; Mooncoin is on Litecoin 13.3 codebase with segwit (albeit only in console form at the moment), as some may have seen it appearing briefly on the current Mooncoin 'peers' tab.
Client is currently isolated from the network whilst I test DK3 and another single block difficulty retargeting algorithm.

I dont want to place too much emphasis on this (as it may not make it to final release); I've added the blockchain compression code from Bitcoin Unlimited (BUIP017 for those interested) and appears to be working well, but it does slow the host down slightly.

13.3 working with existing chain (basic performance timers present):

Hi all,

Moonrush wallet currently up at http://bazco.in, or alternatively http://wallet.moonrush.org (when it decides to start resolving).
Please test first with small amounts to avoid any issues; however it behaved quite well during testing.

As for PoS, I have not talked about another copy&pasted PoS, but have asked you (all) to help discuss this creatively.
We could, for example, use a PoS-system that gives a user of one wallet only one vote, regardless of how many coins are into it, they receive the number of coins according to their balance, but could not do a 51%-attack. This danger exists, by the way, any day with hashing, too, and more so as the hashing power is concentrated like today for scrypt-based coins. We could also use a CPU-only-mining-algo (maybe with a slider in the wallet-gui, that can adjust, how much of the CPU is used for mining, so that the computer keeps being usable for other things, if needed). But the most important thing is, that it has to be done quickly, as the problem with the blockchain exists for too long now and will not be solved with a bit more hashrate, as someone could hope. A stuck blockchain for more than 10 or 15 minutes for a coin that propagates 90 sec. block-time is simply unacceptable. Let alone 2-4 hours, like it is at the moment sometimes.

More ideas are more than welcome.

As for innovations: There are many coins that keep it simple and work very well. LTC is the best example. Simply works.
Or look at DigiByte. The key features (from their ann-thread):

- Security
- Speed
- Transaction-volume
- Total Supply
- Flexibility
- Marketability & Usability

Those are real benefits for users, even if that is nothing "innovative" in a cutting-edge-style. As you might remember - there was a similar roadmap for Mooncoin and MOON was even earlier on the market than DigiByte (first posting in their ann-thread: January 10th, 2014; MOON: December 28th, 2013 - see: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=389403.0 ). Now compare the market share of DigiByte to Mooncoin. I cannot see any real benefit from SmartLikes and MoonWord. For the known reasons, that I have already explained. We need to do the right things first, really. And if one wants to be first and foremost with the newest and most innovative features (and with this the most risky, because they are not proven) one needs a 100% reliable, competent, quick, comprehensive and capable dev, that can manage any problems fast, with the highest possible attention to detail and very good communication skills. Barry, are you here?

Agreed; the current difficulty retargeting algorithm is quite harsh and will be revised in a future release.
PoS is a potential solution to the issue; however I feel that it favours the existing crowd, not the newcomer who often will want to test the waters.

I'd hoped to see a fairer PoW algorithm, that does not favour ASICs or farms of high-end GPU; making it fair and possible for anyone who wants to support the MOON network entirely able to, with a chance of earning some for themselves.

Several algorithms have been suggested previously; such as Argon2 or Skein (my own favourites), however ultimately i'd like to hear what the community thinks..

Hi all,

The Moonrush web wallet is now complete, entirely web-based, quick and does not require a blockchain download to operate.

Am replicating my development environment onto a VPS; should be live later today.
URL will be posted once up and after some final testing.

Hey guys, just wondering if anybody has any suggestions as to why my Electrum wallet's transfer (send) is showing up as 'Unconfirmed'?
It's been stuck there overnight  Undecided  nothing shows up in the blockchain explorer either. I'm connected to 54.203.38.135:50101 if that helps

Also my balance is showing as 'not verified' if that's relevant but I think barry mentioned earlier that that was normal. Any tips? Thanks in advance guys

The fact that it does not show up in a block explorer is a worry.
Please send me a PM with the address you received funds to and we can diagnose from there.

Hi all,

Coinomi wallet is now functional with no changes required (other than exiting out of and re-opening the wallet).
As for Electrum; the 'unverified' coins is a known issue but funds are still able to be spent.

Hey guys, sorry to bother but I just have a question about the Electrum wallet - I withdrew Mooncoin from Bleu around five hours ago.

The CryptoID blockchain explorer shows that the address I sent it to 'received' them over 4 hours ago but nothing is showing up in the History tab. I'm connected and all.
Just wondering if this is normal or if I'm missing something? Sorry for the inconvenience but I'm a total noob with wallets and I'm worried that I lost them or something.

Any suggestions? Thanks in advance.

just to verify, you're connected to electrum host 54.203.38.135:50101?
this will show when you click the network button at the bottom right hand side

It won't connect with those settings, wondering what to do now?

a few pages back, another user used the electrum wallet successfully after using these settings.
are you using the wallet from https://github.com/mooncoindev/mooncoin/releases/download/0.10.5-public/electrum-moon.zip ?

Yeah I downloaded this new wallet and still cant sync at all.  Sad
0 active connections to Mooncoin network.
Anyone else able to suggest anything?

this sounds really odd.

i've deleted my peers.dat (from %appdata%\roaming\mooncoin) as a test and fired the client up.
within seconds it has established a connection to 54.203.38.135
let me know if you still run into issues.

Sorry for bothering you James:P
But after I got my electrum wallet to work, the Mooncoin that I have sent to it just say "not verified".
It has been like this for 1-2 hours.

You can safely ignore the 'not verified' message, your coins are fine.
Known fault with my electrum implementation.

You can test by sending a small amount to exchange etc.

I can't get the Mooncoin Windows wallet to sync. Can't find any connection. Any tips on how I can make a connection to a node?

Make sure you're using the latest copy from https://github.com/mooncoindev/mooncoin/releases/download/0.10.5-tokenblock/Mooncoin-qt.zip
Has latest nodes hardcoded.
