far from dead if you have access to cheap power & some second hand mining equipment.. excluding power, 28mh will yield you 0.00322BTC/day from sites like nicehash..
stratums and rented hashpower are still a cashcow for those with the knowledge

Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Can I mine n-scrypt with zeus miner?

Nope, you can only do plain scrypt with the Zeus - however these machines are great as they appear as one 20mh/28mh/46mh (depending on your model) device - as opposed to having a bunch of separate ASICs - as they are internally chained through a bus interface.
I sold my Zeus Thunder X3 some time ago. Even though I've roughly twice the hashpower with a combo of Gridseeds and one single Zeus blade - nowhere near as consistent (just watch out for the power bill on those things!).

Recently had a similar issue with a clone of Peercoin and MPOS stratum - gave me strange RPC 'mode' errors..
In your MPOS stratum-mining/lib folder edit 'bitcoin_rpc.py' and scroll to line 137: resp = (yield self._call('getblocktemplate', [{}]))
Remove the {} so it reads: resp = (yield self._call('getblocktemplate', []))
Save and try again (i think theres even a code comment relating to this). Let me know how you go.

Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Gridseed Blade Recovery/Design questions (GC3355 based)
|
on: September 12, 2015, 08:34:08 AM

Hi all, This has been bugging me for a while, and i'd rather just know as opposed to potentially frying some equipment.. A mate of mine lent me his cache of well looked after Gridseed Blades, to muck around with and test out. All of the units worked, aside from one which has one dead PCB (since removed). After a LOT of messing around, I was able to determine that the MCU/RS232 TTL hardware on this PCB had died and have since removed the chip from the board (this is after making sure it wasnt a case of bad firmware etc). Can anyone say for sure, that the role of the STM32Fxxx MCU is purely for translating from USB to RS232 TTL? I've read that it has a hand in setting the voltage for the GC3355's.. does it also handle multiplexing for communication to each hashing IC - or are they all wired in a common bus layout (hence the ID selection for each GC3355). I'm not particularly keen on installing a new MCU to the board, however I would be game enough to solder the 4 or 5 wires required for a MAX232CPE (for a regular PC serial port to TTL convertor) as well as the 3.3/5v required in the same PCB area. The GC3355 datasheets on github ( https://github.com/gridseed/gc3355-doc/blob/master/GC3355_1Chip_EVB.pdf and https://github.com/gridseed/gc3355-doc/blob/master/GC3355_8Chip_Sch.pdf) don't seem to rely on an MCU being present - which makes me think that addressing through UART-alone might work. I'd also previously owned a Zeus Thunder X3 - which literally let you chain each blade like it was on a 'bus', which supports my thinking of this being possible. Can someone please set me straight on this; only if you know.. james

I'm pretty much past this guys - this was the wallet released at launch this morning (not the demo).. If dev uploads another one in the next week or so that doesnt match the below, or if this post disappears magically.. cry bullshit..
File: GenesysCoin-qt.exe CRC-32: db7cbe46 MD4: ec0edd3dd6161f78a3d67aaccf5b3c6b MD5: 2688b1c875eef47e0bc83f1632280af7 SHA-1: f415ed5230ea808bff12cede7cbbb2fd8691e0d7
Could just be an honest mistake - but I think we've all seen with new Coins; theres never really an honest mistake.
Wait... you expect us to believe you which few post earlier ask how to compile wallet and did not known very often issue with "obj/zerocoin" ?!?!? And you use tons of wallets?!?!?! Right! Come on, please do not FUD your posts will be deleted! If you have any experience you could google "opening dependency file obj/zerocoin/Accumulator.d: No such file or directory" and find solution on first result! EDIT: I did not read you post well... I mean I did not get in start what is your problem .... so ... you are claiming that dev has compiled windows wallet this morning? Do you have any experience with crypto coins? Do you what is genesis block? Are you a retard? Your claims are hilarious and have no sense! Yes, i have my own Pure SHA3 coin which isn't released yet. Certainly do, i've only seen zerocoin mentioned once or twice - shouldnt this be fixed up in the build file/git file tree? Do you know what a genesis block is? Your wallet's RPC Port isn't showing up on the windows wallet; it remains closed. What part of thats confusing you? You sound like a unit.

dev: why isnt the win-qt wallet exposing port 36020 on any interface, even when specified manually in the .conf file - or as a parameter on winqt launch (-rpcport=36020)...?
What do you mine? I solo mined the 1000000 premine for ICO without any issue. did you specify the rpc port in your miner? don't get ahead of yourself.. netstat -ab shows no port :36020 on any network interface.. even when specified manually in the conf file - or even if i launch the wallet manually.. -datadir=datadir -maxconnections=4 -rpcuser=x -rpcpassword=y -rpcbind=10.0.1.248 -rpcallowip=10.0.1.250 -rpcport=36020 i use this with tons of wallets, never had an issue (10.0.1.248 is local to the machine) - so why isnt this port open?
