123  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: How about a solar power source for pop one price mining on: October 05, 2018, 09:56:02 AM
yeah there are a lot of sunlight charts.

I suggest you shut the miners off  1 hour before sunset  and turn them back on 1 hour after sunrise

that is 14 hours off  or 420 off each month.

3x s9 use  4 kwatts  x 420 = 1700 hours a month it will drop bill close to 170 usd

6x s9 use 8 kwatts x 420 =  3400 hours a month it will drop bill close to 340 usd

126  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: 8th Alt coin thread. Or what to do now that asics are all over the place. on: September 29, 2018, 12:30:37 PM
So it says you earned  0.62 coins, but you said you earned   0.34 coins.

So did the other addresses earn or is that 2 weeks on the 112 coin address?
127  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: [WTS] [US] 2100 PCS Antminer S9j 14TH/s on: September 24, 2018, 03:01:53 AM
Same thing here Phil he is listing 900,000 in gear.  He must be willing to escrow  with all the red trust you found no one will buy from him without an escrow.
128  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: [WTS] [HK] 15,000 PCS Halong Dragonmint 16TH Miners on: September 24, 2018, 03:00:28 AM
Phil  15000 x 375 = 6,045,000

So he must know people will check him out. Maybe those 2 threads against him are not accurate.
129  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Mucho gear coming out in next few months. on: August 22, 2018, 01:35:16 PM
Phil  did you try the new firmware?
130  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Mucho gear coming out in next few months. on: August 21, 2018, 11:33:57 PM
space 2

My Innosilicon  T2 turbo comes on Monday the 20th of August.

[...]

so  it  is doing about 17.5 or so?
131  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Holictech - Holic H22,H28 - 10nm, 8nm - Sha-256 Miner on: August 21, 2018, 07:32:34 PM
so 22th at 1600 watts

my innosilicon does 17,6th at 1450 watts at the wall (ac) on low speed

that is 1450/17600 = 82 watt per th and it ships now.

1600/22000 = 73 watts per th

but it may be the dc number so 73/0.92 = 81 watts per th and it come when?

dec most likely dec 31 not dec 1

even if it does everything it says it is 120 days slower than the T2Turbo
132  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Acorn M.2 FPGA based GPU Accelerator on: August 15, 2018, 10:41:33 PM
I agree with you, but some coin devs put the FPGAs in the same categeory as ASICs, for good or bad reasons depending mostly on a personnal point of vue.

I'm ok with ASICs and FPGAs as long as the game is fair, meaning companies develop and sell them without retaining them and mining with for months and throwing them on the market only when it's more profitable compared to mining. That's what all major ASIC maker do, they compete against their "customers".

That's the reason why I like the initiatives here, BCU1525, ACORN M2...They give a chance to the people, not only deep pockets companies or investors who don't give a crap about blockchain / crypto, those which would invest in any business as long as it's profitable.

Mining should be for the people by the people.

Many of the posts in this thread illustrate why more companies mine the hardware before they sell it, require bulk orders, provide poor customer service, etc.  I mean really what is the point of providing a product in a transparent manner at a reasonable price?  SQRL is the the perfect example of a company building fpga miners internally that decided to throw a bone to everyone and sell the same hardware at a very small markup.  What did that get them?  A bunch of accusations about scams and fake products, and this was before they even took a cent from anyone!  Fast forward to the first half of August and people are already blowing up support, asking pointless questions about a product that is not past its shipping deadline.
So what is really a shipping deadline? I believe that more information about SQRL miner should be released ahead of the launch. We should be able to prepare which pools we could be using. I am personally (most would disagree) very much want NiceHash strata support, especially in light of current Market volatility. I actually stopped mining on GPUs yesterday (too hot and electricity cost coming too close to gains) and am only mining on ASICs

A handful of people  will get august 31st shipping
Most buyers will get Set 30th shipping.
The August batch is small.  I read on discord  that there are parts that are delayed, but that I am not sure how that affects the acorns.

Hopefully you don't have a lot involved money wise.
133  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Avalon 851 on its way. on: August 13, 2018, 01:20:02 AM
So  the 851  does 14.5 to 14.9  th at 1750 to 1850 watts on stock setting?
134  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Avalon 851 on its way. on: August 13, 2018, 12:46:39 AM

136  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Acorn M.2 FPGA based GPU Accelerator on: August 05, 2018, 03:59:33 PM
Just compare it on "What to Mine". I am using Flypool, Nanopool and NiceHash and I am getting best gains on NiceHash. I am not keeping any small coins (Only ETH, BTC and ZEC). Ideology has no place when earning money, in my mind.

Youre completely right, the only reason for mining a shitcoin is if its more profitable, and you even with exchange fee can dump it for more good coin.

With 100 rx570's youre looking at arround avg 80 usd/day solo mining, 1% less on a good pool, and 81 usd/day on nicehash, so for arround 1% more profit you take the change to loose a few days to a weeks profit if they get hacked again Cheesy

And if you dont wana hold the BTC they give you but want ETH or ZEC you will loose that little gain in fee's compared to mining the coin directly you wana store.

Properly using nicehash is complex.
To think risking 1 weeks payout is not acceptable is a choice for you to make.

My concern is more that Monero is forking again  so what is Squirrels plan to upgrade CN1 to CN2?

If Squirrels has a smooth upgrade path for the acorn 215+  it will help its sales.
137  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Acorn M.2 FPGA based GPU Accelerator on: August 05, 2018, 12:48:05 PM
For those of you using nicehash I have just 1 thing to say, fool me once, shame on you, fool me twice shame on me.
Anyone using a service that got hacked, and pays back its customers months later during a major bear market, deserve to loose their coins Smiley

Nicehash has a purpose I will leave it at that.

I found out that Monero is to be foked again.  So what will Squirrels do to update the Acorn's.

Or will we be getting a partially crippled unit in terms of mining Monero. With a long wait for reprogramming.

This fork is scheduled before August 31st.  So will later Acorns have the fork in the software?

I actually think  the new monero fork is good news  for Squirrels and the Acorn's as it give the company a chance to show that it can upgrade much quicker then an asic can.

I read this on github.
