If BTC confirmation times get longer and transaction fees keep going up,
people are going to start looking for faster, cheaper alternatives to make transfers.
Dash, Eth, Monero or LTC etc.
If LTC gets wider adoption price could easily double or more in the coming years.
Will it actually happen? Only time will tell...

If 21 million people owned 1 BTC each, it would actually be worthless.
Bitcoin needs new users and needs to move to actually have a value.
But I see what OP is saying. We might never see $1million BTC but its definitely worth owning some if you have the ability.

but Reddcoin actually has some cool ideas if you watch the videos posted on their website.
I'm going to hold for now.

Agree with you there - I've been mining and trading XMR for just over a year now and it has been quite an interesting ride - I think there will be more to come - I predicted at the start of the year that XMR will be the number 2 or 3 currency on CMC by the end of the year - hasn't lived up to my expectations - but there is still lots of potential
Monero and Litecoin are still some of the safest long-term investments (IMO) You might not get rich overnight but both of these coins could easily double in the next few years. They both have solid tech, good development and long-term goals. Thousands of other coins will come and go and these two will still be around. |

Reveal of an NSA intelligence program tracking and keeping database of all Bitcoin users,
or huge busts on the darknet market by the DEA would slow down illegal drug purchase with Bitcoin.
Something like that would slow demand and probably see a drop in price for a while and stop growth since new users would be apprehensive about getting into crypto.
Also if China actually started cracking down on exchanges or miners it could have serious effects, since they have so much of the hashing power.
Bitcoin definitely needs more decentralization.

So this coin has doubled from 4 satoshi to 8 in the last 24 hours without any news or reason I can find. https://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/reddcoin/Old coin that hasnt been doing anything, and the official forums at https://www.reddcointalk.org/dont really have any new updates. Just a pump or anyone know a reason why this coin is suddenly being traded in such a high volume? $240k+/ 134.52 BTC traded in last 24 hours. |

Turns out it did and it did for good. 0.011 was touched in poloniex. Im glad that I didn't finally buy in, even tho I would be up by now tho. Maybe that was "it".
There's also the ongoing poloniex problems due lag, so it's hard to discern what is natural trading and what is trading that is happening because of panic selling due poloniex constantly fucking up their service by orders getting stuck and so on. I can't withdraw anything right now.
Yeah I saw price dropping and decided to sell the LTC I had and wait before buying back in. Everyone is trying to jump on DGB, XRP and the other coins that are going up right now. LTC is still a good long term investment, just not sure where the bottom is right now. |

Minecraft integration is important because it shows developers are trying to come up with unique ways of using the coin.
Hopefully they have some other good ideas that will keep this project going into new territories.

They probably do need more bandwidth and some server upgrades.
It would be interesting to see info on the number of users/ trades a day they are handling compared to this time last year.
So many new people are getting into crypto trading, they might have double the users they did in 2016.

LTC has hit 0.0134, now im worried that we may re test sub 0.013. It tried to go up and it failed, looks like we may test 0.0128 or something, im setting some buy orders on there, and now let's just wait and see, 0.0128 is another support judging by strict TA which as we know can be useless, but you gotta put them damn buy orders somewhere so im choosing that one.
0.0128 to 0.013 is probably fine. It may drop that low but I would be surprised if it goes any lower, there is so much new support for LTC. (Added to Coinbase, trusted name, continued development etc) And could possibly be $50 to $100 in the next few years. |

This was only used during the segwit activation period. No need for it any longer until the next soft fork on the network. Now that Segwit activated and block #'s changed it would read zero. Oh nice ty for quick reply! Was not sure that Segwit was fully activated. |

Anyone buying LTC?
I think its actually a decent time to buy for long-term,
after the price dropped about 10% the hype is dying down, but I still believe price can hit $50 in the coming year(s).
