I've been doing bounty campaigns only since December 2017. Not long, in the scheme of things. But one thing that truly surprised me during the last couple of months is the number of bounty hunters who look to sell their tokens ASAP. At first, I didn't understand why, but I think I'm beginning to.
For me, I'm doing these bounty campaigns for a bit of fun and to give my mind a bit work to do, creatively speaking. So my mindset for any bounty tokens is just to HODL and allow the devs to implement their roadmap and take the project through to completion. I think this will give the best realisation of value on the tokens. Sure, some may fail and they will likely end up worthless, but since I only invested time, not money, into receiving them, I'm not really worried.
So with that mindset, I struggled to understand why so many people were eager to offload their bounties at the earliest opportunity.
But over the weekend, I sat down and did some calculations on the accumulated bounty rewards I'm expecting to receive. Each bounty by itself was a modest return, but when combined in totality, it was a sizeable amount. And that's when it struck me...
Lots of people who live in less fortunate parts of the world, particularly in areas with high unemployment, probably NEED to sell their bounty rewards to put food on the table and pay their bills.
But I really don't know if my assumptions are correct. So, my question to you is...
Do you sell your Bounty Rewards straight away or HODL? Any insight into your reasons would be appreciated.

It definitely depends on the projects. For example, if you joined the bounty campaign of ETHlend, you probably should hold your token since ETHlend is a solid project with working product. On the other hand, if you took part in the bounty campaign of vDice, you should sell it right away. |

Best bounties in the past are basically the best ICOs in the past. To name a few, Ethereum, NEO, STRATIS, QTUM, IOTA, XVG, etc. The problem with the majority of bounty hunters joining these awesome projects is they sell their bounty tokens right away when they received them. Probably, they sold all their valuable bounty tokens before the value of these tokens goes to the moon (got pumped).

In the next year ETH will overtake BTC as the number 1 cryptocurrency. I would unload your bitcoin while you still can.
Keen observation. Bitcoin is moving so slow in this fast pacing field. If one coin does not evolve, it will be obsolete and will go down in terms of value. The store-of-value shilling for BTC will soon be over since I didn't see why other altcoins cannot be a store of value if BTC can be. With constant forking, BTC is not a store of value anymore. BTC is undergoing inflation due to these forks that cannot compete with top altcoins. |

In my opinion , ETH is now more hot than BTC because the explosion of ICOs base on ETH Blockchain. During the recent dip, ETH price even a little come up, all altcoins and BTC holders lose funds but ETH holders still have profit. So i think that ETH will reach BTC price this year. What do you think guys?
Exactly. I think Ethereum is becoming a better store of value in the short term (in at least 3 months). The reason that Ethereum is more stable than Bitcoin in terms of value is Ethereum is used on a daily basis not only as a media of payment transfer but also as a media to invest in hot ICOs. Bitcoin, however, is used less and less every day due to its super high transaction fee. |

There are Bitcoin, and also there are Bitcoin Cash and Bitcoin Gold and B2X that we use it as an altcoin, but do we still need other altcoins? as i knew in the forum on the altcoin section there are much announcement about new altcoins almost everyday. do we still need that altcoins?
Altcoins are not that different from Bitcoin and its forks. They are all blockchain projects. Just like we still need facebook when we already have myspace. Some altcoins will probably dethrone Bitcoin in the near future, due to their advanced tech and utility. In my opinion, I think Ethereum could be the first altcoin that dethrones BTC. |

I personally will not invest in Cardano (ADA) right now. The reason is its market cap is too high compared to other projects such as NEO or ICON. People always talk about Cardano is backed by scientific papers. However, these peer-reviewed papers are just conference papers. These papers are not fancy papers that are published in top academic journals. I will invest in new blockchain 3.0 projects like Nuls or ArcBlock.

I would say it is the best time for hackers. So much easy money to grab in the crypto world. So, the bottom line is, you should be afraid of hackers. The best way to protect you from hackers is to educate yourself. In addition, using hardware wallets could make your wallet more secure in a way that your private key cannot be stolen by online hackers.

If you ask why bitcoin is going down in the last few weeks, you should probably ask why bitcoin increase its value by 20 times in the last year in the first place. Nothing is going up in the straight line (or parabolic line). If a coin doubles its value in the short amount of time, it will be probably down by 30% after that. That is just how markets behave in this world. No need to panic since the fundamental of BTC has never changed.

With surges and rise of the prices of different coins, how does the rise and decline of altcoins affect BTC in terms of its value?
In my opinion, the rise and decline (fluctuations) of altcoins only affect BTC in terms of its value in the short term. However, the technological evolution of altcoins will influence the price of BTC in a more profound way. For BTC, the tech is old, slow and hard to upgrade. For altcoins, everything can be built from scratch and based on successful models, leading to the born of altcoins with very strong tech such as Ethereum, ArcBlock (ICO ongoing), etc. |

They have no tweets on timeline.  And the twitter links to a profile with few followers and just one post and the account was registered in Jan 2018.  Use Caution If Etherdelta is hacked again, I will definitely not surprised. Before the true decentralized exchange (front end is decentralized as well) is released, I will probably not trust any state of the art "decentralized" exchanges. That is, the front ends of these decentralized exchanges are not safe enough to gain my trust again. Hopefully, the truly decentralized exchanges will be released in this year. |

Hello Bitcointalk.org people. I am planning to create a cryptocurrency that mainly used for trading only. A cryptocurrency that will rise in value as time passes by. A cryptocurrency that can be treasure and inherit by future generations especially our children and grandchildren. As we all know some cryptos and ICOs nowadays are scams. And some are good cryptos and ICOs but later turn into scam because they were not able to accomplish what they promise. Some were discourage and some failed along the way. That's why i came up with this idea. Enough of scam cryptos and ICOs. Now help me to decide should I Or should not continue this vision that I have? All your comments and feedbacks will be greatly appreciated  To be honest, your vision and your idea are good, but your idea is far from being novel or even new in the crypto world. The thing is, a lot of the crypto projects start with the vision of creating a cryptocurrency that will rise in value in the long run. However, a lot of these projects failed due to bad execution and incompetent team. I think you probably should not continue this vision that you have and should start investing into profitable ICOs (e.g. Arcblock). Once you have enough crypto money to start with, you can probably hire some crypto experts to fulfill your vision. |

Behind all of these numbers and metrics are the team's great vision and high market awareness. This is simply the best ICO/bounty project in February.

The traditional proof of work mining will probably stop in future due to efficiency issues. However, the proof of stake "mining" will take over to secure the blockchains without generating waste heat by burning valuable electricity. In this sense, the traditional BTC will probably be dethroned by either a BTC fork or other advanced altcoins. Paradigm is shifting and mining will stop in future.

My plan is to get more ETH by trading and investing ICOs. When the 20 percent of my ETH holdings is enough for me to retire, I will cash out that 20 percent of my holding. And I will continue to be an investor in the crypto-world. I will only fund the projects I truly like and I will not invest in bad projects with flipping potential anymore. In this way, I will be able to use my money to facilitate a better world in my viewpoint.

I think it is definitely a right move for this forum to grow. I find that multiple accounts is becoming a problem in this forum. A lot of newcomers are exploiting the system to get absurd rewards for their signature bounty campaigns. The incorporation of the merit system could definitely provide even more tools to measure members' behavior. Hopefully, this merit system will reduce the number of spam posts on this forum.
